Welcome back! Congratulations on EVERYTHING - sounds like things have brightened-up quite nicely for you! :bride:

We had to postpone our DFTW (Jan. 2008 Escape) too. I know what you mean about being too sad to post, but enjoying all the exciting details the other DIS brides shared! Now our *new* date is just under 10 months - I'm waiting until we can finalize things @ 8 moths to start my PJ.

Can't wait to hear all your details & see lots of pictures!

Happy planning! :goodvibes

Hi! Congrats on your jpb and upcoming wedding! I am planning a Wishes Vow Renewal for June 29th 2009. I can't wait to read all your plans! I have a question if you don't mind? You can go for a site visit even if you are over a year a way from the wedding? Can I be calling DFTW already with some questions? If yes than Woo Hoo!!!:rotfl: I would love to plan a short getaway for me and DH to see the sites! Well any excuse to get back to WDW will do!LOL;)

Well I called earlier this week to schedule a site visit before I booked my offsite hotel and they told me to call back in March since then I would be 18 months out from my wedding. I could discuss dates with them one year out.
They told me to go right ahead and book my hotel though and not worry about scheduling the site visit first (even though thats basically why we are going!) I was concerned that if I booked my hotel and they weren't available I would pissed! but they said it wouldn't be a problem. I would say you could schedule a site visit now since you are 18 months out

It seems the rule of thumb is 18 months out they'll discuss options, site visits, etc. 1 year out you can book for park weddings, 8 months out all other sites. However I've seen some brides have scheduled before the one year, it really depends on who speak with I think.

Hope that helps!:flower3:

I scheduled both my site visit and my planning session about a week ahead of time. Until I found these boards I had no idea everyone planned so far out! I'm pretty sure you wont have a problem getting your site visit. Worst case scenario is that it'll be a PM appt instead of AM or vice versa. Good luck!

Thanks for the info!!! Now I have to convince DH that we need to go on a site visit in between our trip to HHI in April and our London/Paris trip in July. He's gonna kill me!LOL;)

ok so this will be the very first time I really posted much about my actual planning. Some of my ideas have probably been 'borrowed' from the rest of you here on the boards. Thanks so much and I hope you all don't mind!

When we first decided to have a Disney Wedding

We had just gotten engaged two days before at Cinderella's Royal table and we were at the Star Tours attraction store (I think it's called Star Traders) and we recieved a Magical Moment. The cashier said that she was so excited for us and booked us ressie's for that night at the Hollywood Brown Derby in their private room (really awesome!) She suggested we should get married at Disney World and we were like "year, right!" we would never be able to afford that, but still we both said we would keep it in the back of our heads and look into it.

When we got home we started to look into locations around Philly. We never really found one we were 'in love' with and they were just so expensive! I never realized how much it cost to get married. Plus, most of the menus were just so overpriced for the little you recieved. (NJ & Philly are just expensive areas to have a wedding I heard) So went back to looking at a Disney Wedding. We really liked the idea of having a destination wedding and the more we looked at locations around Philly and all the work to be done, the more we said let's just go for it! We went back and forth with an Escape or Wishes, but I didn't want my guests to come to Disney for just the ceremony and no reception. When I added the costs of a dinner and escape wedding and all the extras I wanted, we said we might as well do the wishes wedding and invite a lot more people.

Little Mermaid theme

I started to go back and forth with a theme, I'm definitely the type of person that likes everything to match or coordinate so I definitely wanted a theme.
First I started a Cinderella them since I got enaged in the castle and the glass slipper and stuff. But I'm not a big fan of Cinderella wanted something more me. I always wanted the 'Fairytale' Wedding though. I didn't want my wedding to be extremely formal, but then didn't want it to be like an everyday type party either, so something in the middle. I am a HUGE fan of the Little Mermaid since I was little, I was Ariel twice for Halloween! I wanted to do a beach theme, but thought it might be too, too laid back. So I'm doing a seaside castle/Little Mermaid theme. I'm still coming up with ideas to incorporate it but I'm planning to use seashells and castle motifs throughout to have a beachy but fairytale feel.

Timing: This will depend on our locations - Epcot weddings have to be in the morning I've read and we are thinking of a daytime reception to keep costs down.

Dinner Style: All the weddings I've been to have been Buffet. I've never been to a sit-down dinner and I think I would really like for my wedding to be a sit down. It makes things a little more formal I guess. But then I really like some of the action stations especially the Potato Martini one.

Honeymoon: Definitely are doing the Disney Cruise, hopefully the Disney Wonder. This is something DF has been pushing for. He wanted to get married on the cruise but I felt that guests would have to spend even more money for a cruise and then they couldn't just come for the wedding but would be forced to take a cruise.

Wedding Day: Mid week, probably Tuesday because the Disney Wonder seems like it leaves on Thursdays and then we have the Wednesday to spend in Disney. We can come down to Disney over the weekend (or earlier since at my new job I get three weeks of Vacay now!) but nothing yet set in stone.

Guest Count: We are hoping for a group of 50 but who knows until invites go out. We have a guest list of about 80 and could trim some more, but don't expect alot to travel. So 50 is the number I've been working with. So far everyone has given us a positive reaction and seems really excited about a Disney Wedding. But I'm sure I'll hear a grumble or too later.

Initial Planning choices

I've done some research online and looked at many pics and these are my choices so far. I go for a site visit 9/6/08-9/13/08 so I'll decide for sure then.

Quick question - does anyone know if at your site visit you can sign the contract there? Would you also recieve your AP passes then too?

Ceremony
Epcot Germony - I love the look of this area because it looks very fairytale and it looks a little like the town that Ariel and Eric tour before the Kiss the Girl scene. But I did here that it smells like saurkraut in the morning so we will see

Beach Area? - I read posts that brides had their ceremony on the beach but can't find anymore details about it though.

I'm hoping when I go for a site visit I can get more ideas. I definitely want something that it uniquely Disney because my guests are traveling from Philly and want them to feel it was worth the trip.

Reception
Living Seas - so far this seems number one. If fits with the mermaid theme and DF really likes it too. It also works with our guest count

Ariels - I love this location but it doesn't host seated dinner and when I was active in the boards before I've read they are having wedding there in 2009.

GF Summerhouse - I really want a truly Disney location (read theme park when i write that:goodvibes) But I do like it so I'm keeping it as an option.

Ok I'll be writing more very soon but for right now can anyone answer this question?

:surfweb: This is me reading all your planning journals all day!

So as I was writing the last post I started to check into dates for the Disney Wonder in Sept 2009 so I can double check that it leaves on Thursdays and saw that I couldn't book anything for Sept except Sept 3rd and thought that was weird so i did a little digging and saw on wdwinfo.com

2009 Drydock Plans
The Wonder will be in drydock September 6-26, 2009.

S*&^!!! Looks like our wedding date will already be messed up and I haven't set anything yet.

So now I have to talk to DF when he's home and it's either a switching to the DIsney Magic or a wedding the last week of August or first week in October

Yes, I'm crazy I seem to be posting repeatedly in one night. Well this thread has kind of made me double check my decisions and make sure they work. Writing it all down just helps alot I guess...:goodvibes

So we set the date that we would like, September 1st 2009. We set this date because My DF really wants to do the Disney Cruise and we haven't been emotionally attached to any date so we have been choosing our date based on cruise dates and the low season in Disney. It's not exactly low season because its the week before Labor day but that date helps both my bridesmaids as well. My MOH is about to graduate with her education degree and goes tomorrow for interviews for schools. Plus my bridesmaid will be 18 and will be entering college then so hopefully both their school schedules start after Labor Day, which is 9/7 in 2009.

So September 1st it is! Does anyone know if how hard it is to get the date that you want?

Ok here's some pictures of some items that either I like or that I have purchased already. I have alot of stuff I put away for the wedding and I'll take pics of that later.

This is my engagement ring. This pic is from when I got engaged in Cindy's Royal Table

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Engagement%202006/DisneyPhotoImage48.jpg

Last year sometime, i went crazy buying stuff for the wedding and then reality set in and I thought... Where am I going to put this stuff, or better yet, how am I going to get it down to Disney? Anyways I bought 7 Sand Castles from Ebay. They were really a good deal, but now I don't know if we will use them. Here's a pic of kinda what they look like - I'll get a better pic later.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/P1190258.jpg

I also bought my guest book and garter off of ebay new for $6 together. It was a simple white garter with a sparkle starfish and a tossing garter. And the Guest book was a plain white bookwith blue ribbin and starfish. I'm not crazy about them now, but both of those things were relatively unimportant to be in the overall scheme of things. I may buy another guest book and garter because I found a whole set I love and it still goes with the pen I bought that I love too.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/P1190269.jpg

Here's the cake I love... I stole it from someone's planning journal I hope you don't mind:3dglasses

The server I'm planning to get from DFTW

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/CakeKnifeandServerset.jpg

I really want some sort aqua as my wedding color I actually have a page from a bridal magazine of a program with ribbons that's my inspiration. I would like to use a range of blues and greens as my colors.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/P2250039.jpg

Here's is the garter and flower basket I really, really want. I am really thinking of buying them now but I'm not even close to getting bridesmaid dresses so I'm not sure what color I'll purchase but this is the color I want.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/seasidealluregarter.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/seasideallurebasket.jpg

I really like these two styles of dress but not sold on them. I really want an off the shoulder type sleeve. ut I like the bodice and pick-up skirt. This may change once I try on dresses! I also am in love with the third..it's not anything like my picture in my head but I Love it... But I really want a big skirt since I never wore one for my proms.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/jadress.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/dresses/WeddingDress-mermaid.jpg

Ok here for my rant about the Disney Princess line. I was really dissappointed. I don't think they look princess inspired at all, except for a few of the belle ones. This is the only thing I like out of the princess line. i was really hoping they would have a seashell tiara like Swarovski did with the Cinderella line. Oh well... Here is the only piece I like from the Disney Collection... But it's probably like $3000 or something

Can you tell me the designer and style name of this dress?

I'm desperately trying to find your 1st dress (it's my number 1 choice!) but haven't found anywhere that has it in stock yet, or anything remotely similar.

This one of yours is very similar though, so perhaps I may have some luck finding this one, and then I can know if the style is right for me!

Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

Incidentally, you're planning for a month before me, and we're wanting to use the Living Seas Salon too, so I look forward to hearing more!

When I was reading your plans, before I saw the pics I immediately thought of those castles and using them as centerpieces!!! I think they would be great with maybe some seashells on the table around them and some flowers and tea lights? I love the cake! I love the colors you want to use and the first 2 dresses are beautiful! I'm enjoying reading all your plans!

Hi, yes it's Justin Alexander. I don't know the style but it's on the website. i saw it in a Bridal magazine and loved it. I actually took the maggie dress from someone's else journal because it's similar to the Justin Alexander, but I have't seen it on her website. I actually read your planning journal yesterday. Hmmm,
I can't seem to find it on the Europe section - perhaps they won't make them for us over here :sad1:
Is it actually the Justin Alexander Collection on one of the others on the main site eg Sincerity etc?

Meryll - the dress is part of the regular Justin Alexander collection but it is under the United States, maybe you could call with the style and see if anyone stocks it

Caryn, I was reading Kristin's journal yesterday and I was excited to see someone's theme close to mine! Hopefully we can swap ideas! I wanna add some color to that cake I've had it saved under favorites for awhile now with another one and want to kind of mash them together

12 days away? Oh my God! So close. I've been reading your journal too! I can't wait to see pics! Best Wishes in the final hour! yay!
:thumbsup2

Desnik - that's the idea I had for centerpieces and found a great cheap website for seashells that sell them in lots. But It might be a pian to lug all that stuff to Disney so I may change my mind and do a Aquarium type look with Flowers instead. I have time so I'll probably change my mind a million times! haha!:lmao:

Quick Update

I've gotten the ok from the DF to book the Honeymoon and hotel if I want now while I'm still at my old job and really just srufin the web and not actually doin work anymore. It's really early though but that's definitely the cruise we want to take and I thought I might as well book hotel while I'm getting quotes. What do you think? Am I asking for trouble?

What travel services have you used to book Disney Vacations? I requested quotes from the parter of Allears.net and WDWinfo.com. Any other suggestions?

I figured while I'm still at this job I might as well do some wedding planning, I'll have toget serious when I start my new job:cutie:

Ok, I don't have any updates really, but was really lazy all day and took pics of all of my wedding stuff that I already purchased way too early and now is sitting under my kitchen table.

What updates do I have? Well DF and I decided on the Polynesion resort for three nights and All Star Movies for our first two nights there. We didn't book anything but I wanted to be prepared what resorts we both liked. We figured the first two days we be at parks mostly and running around - save some money with a less expensive place. Polynesion - any feedback? I loved all the pics on Allears.net but it seems confusing with all the different long houses. It was between this and Boardwalk.

Second Update - We decided to go with a Category 5 for our cruise and add the Romantic Escape package. I read reviews on WDWInfo.com and I like the sounds of staterooms - 7072,7058,7018,7032,7038. It also seems like the cheapest rate for airfare for us is Southwest Airlines, $99 web special so I'll get to book that in another month for our trip this Sept.

Updated 1/29, due to photobucket completely screwing up my pictures, I deleted this section because it described and showed invites which we are no longer using. We decided to us Cards and Pockets instead.

I bought these after I learned a big lesson. I found these bubble labels on Ebay with an Ariel & Eric graphic and now I can't find them. So I bought these - Mint to Be packets. They were pretty cheap. Not sure If I'll use these at the wedding or welcome bag

These are Sebastion & Flounder Lollipop molds and Starfish and shell soap molds. I plan to make the character lollipops and the shells into soap. Now I never made soap before so I may just say screw it and buy them cheap on ebay instead and sell the mold. I plan on making these for welcome bags

When I'm bored at work I'll be looking through ebay for cheap stuff.

Photo Book I bought off ebay.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/P1190267.jpg

I'm going to use these for Thank you cards. Disneyprincessbelle was nice even to sell them to me at cost. She's one of the most creative people on these boards. Big thanks to her for these! I have 75 of these.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/P1190273.jpg

Another thing I bought off ebay. I figured I would use it as my emergncy bag and give it to my maid of honor to hold for me.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/P1190262.jpg

And finally our mouse ears that I bought off ebay for cheap.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/P1190244.jpg

SO I guess you leanred about me that I love ebay and when I see things for cheap, I buy them, even though I probably won't use some of this stuff because I have no idea how to get it all down there! I have seven of the sand castles so if I have more than 7 tables I will have to do something else. That should be my last big update for awhile. Next steps for us is to book the cruise, Apply for passports(might as well get it out of the way), and I'm going to be making bridal appts for dress shopping.

Hope everyone enjoys the results of my insane shopping!:rotfl:

Updates - I booked the Honeymoon!:dancer:

I booked us for Sept 3rd Disney Wonder 3 night Cruise! It was the first thing I could book so I got it out of the way. I used Mousefan travel who is the travle partner for Allears.net and they were awesome! Very helpful. I'm going to use them to book everything for our trip I think. I got us $100 shipboard credit too.

Alot of people on the boards keep asking what else they should be doing. I figured that I would say what I'm doing exactly at this phase so if anyone else is wondering, they would have an idea.

I am 1 year and 7 months out just about and this is what I'm doing.

My initial guest list is done - we have a total of 54 guests and will alter this upon feedback based on who is interested.

I have a budget prepared based on these boards of how much each aspect costs and what we will be able to save.

I have booked our site visit for this Sept. I am part of a timeshare vacation club so we are doing our vacay cheaply. I plan to book a car rental through hotwire and flight through Southwest. We are not expecting this stay to be the most luxurous stay, we are going primarily for wedding stuff.

I just booked our honeymoon with Mousefan travel. It was the very first thing I could book so I got it out of the way.

Next week I am applying for my passport so I can check it off my list.

Right now I have been contacting and requesting infomation from photographers, videographers, and Officiants. I am very close to selecting Rnady Chapman. I really like STVS but I am still researching other potential videographers

I am interested in Rev Jack and Rev Kevin as Officiants. I plan on meeting the Officiants when I am in Florida in Sept.

Df and I have been researching the perfect resort for our stay, we still haven't decided.

I have been researching which bridal shops I would look to go to for wedding dresses. So far I have selected Arial Bridal, Bridal Town, and Davids Bridal. I plan on visiting David's Bridal alone because I am off for a week and want to get an idea of what type of dress I like best.

I have been searching for Toasting glasses, flower girl baskets, and the Misc. stuff for a wedding. I was really hesitant to buy this stuff this far in advance but I missed out on something I really liked because it's not for sale anymore. but I'm nervous because I'm afraid that once I buy something I'll find somehting else I like more. I figured that once its gets closer, I'll buy my dress and then have to search the internet for jewelry, tiara, veil, etc. Once I have that, it' on to invites, and then welcome bag stuff. And then I'll be searching for programs and menus, etc. So my thoughts have been, if I can get it done now, get it done!

So here's the checklist:

Honeymoon: Booked

Initial Shopping Appt at David's : waiting for call back

Book Randy as soon as I get Df's approval

Contacted officiants and Videographers

Contacted and recieved info from Carolyn Ann's

getting passport next week

Add addresses to guest list excel sheet

Search and purchase Misc. stuff

Pick resort (we still have time, might go resort hopping during our Sept. visit)

Make Appts at other bridal shops

Hopefuly this helps other brides wondering what they should be doing at this stage!

More updates to come!!!

This pic is from when I got engaged in Cindy's Royal Table

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/DisneyPhotoImage48.jpg

Last year sometime, i went crazy buying stuff for the wedding and then reality set in and I thought... Where am I going to put this stuff, or better yet, how am I going to get it down to Disney? Anyways I bought 7 Sand Castles from Ebay. They were really a good deal, but now I don't know if we will use them. Here's a pic of kinda what they look like - I'll get a better pic later.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/centerpiece.jpg

I also bought my guest book and garter off of ebay new for $6 together. It was a simple white garter with a sparkle starfish and a tossing garter. And the Guest book was a plain white bookwith blue ribbin and starfish. I'm not crazy about them now, but both of those things were relatively unimportant to be in the overall scheme of things. I may buy another guest book and garter because I found a whole set I love and it still goes with the pen I bought that I love too. This is the pen but mine is completely in white

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/castlepen.jpg

Here's the cake I love... I stole it from someone's planning journal I hope you don't mind:3dglasses

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/CakeCoralAndShells-LightDecoration.jpg

The server I'm planning to get from DFTW

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/CakeKnifeandServerset-1.jpg

I really want some sort aqua as my wedding color I actually have a page from a bridal magazine of a program with ribbons that's my inspiration. I would like to use a range of blues and greens as my colors. I'll scan the pic when I'm at my mom's next.

Here's is the garter and flower basket I really, really want. I am really thinking of buying them now but I'm not even close to getting bridesmaid dresses so I'm not sure what color I'll purchase but this is the color I want.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/garterbelt.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/flowergirlbasket.jpg

I really like these two styles of dress but not sold on them. I really want an off the shoulder type sleeve. ut I like the bodice and pick-up skirt. This may change once I try on dresses! I also am in love with the third..it's not anything like my picture in my head but I Love it... But I really want a big skirt since I never wore one for my proms.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/dress2.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/jadress.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/WeddingDress-mermaid.jpg

Ok here for my rant about the Disney Princess line. I was really dissappointed. I don't think they look princess inspired at all, except for a few of the belle ones. This is the only thing I like out of the princess line. i was really hoping they would have a seashell tiara like Swarovski did with the Cinderella line. Oh well... Here is the only piece I like from the Disney Collection... But it's probably like $3000 or something

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/arielnecklace.jpg

more to come anything day.. gotta go take a shower:dance3:

Welcome back! Everything looks great so far. I think you are more organized than me ;) I WANT that Ariel necklace too! Any idea how much it is? I can't seem to find a price. As far as I have read on the boards, you can sign a contract at the site visit and you can get your AP after you sign the contract. A couple of brisdes on here did that but they said they had to contact their pallner in advance. But maybe they already signed the contract at that point?

Hi I just came across your PJ...first let me say congrats. I am also a Sept 09 bride, although I am haivng it on Labor day weekend which concerns me because I spoke to Heidi and she said everything would be ok. :confused3 I will email her again and ask.

Anyway I love everything - I really like how the guest book turned out. Looks so cute.

You make me feel like I have to go out and start shopping and making things...I haven't really done anything...SO JEALOUS!!!

Everything looks great and you really make me feel like a slacker! I am trying to get it together though and you have really inspired me. Thanks for posting the list of what you have done already! I just ordered the sample kit for the cards and pockets. I love that invitation.

How far in advance can you book the photographer, officiant and videographer? What if you can't get the date you wanted with Disney and you already booked them?

Thanks for your replies!!! And thank you guys for reading my PJ!

I guess I'm starting so early because I've been engaged since Nov. 2006 and I'm getting impatient!:rotfl:

But really I noticed that I get really busy during summer and christmas time and really have no time to search the web for stuff I like. So I'm using the time now to do so. Plus I am a really picky person. For my Sr. prom dress I shopped in 3 different states in one day from 9am-9pm at night. I drove my parents crazy!

I'm actually kind of feeling behind since I still haven't even shopped for a dress. I plan on having my dress found and purchased during the summer.

I think I really do like the Castle with Water Invite. I really like the Cards & pockets styles too because everything is nice and neatly laid out. Maybe somehow I can incorporate the two?

Any more votes? I'm gonna nail down fiance to pick soon and purchase.

Ooooh!!! I'm so glad I found your PJ!!! I must've totally overlooked it in all my wedding madness! :rotfl:

It's just so cool that we're doing pretty much the same theme! You have so much beautiful stuff!! Would you believe that Maggie Sottero dress is one I'm highly considering, too?? This is so cool!!! :goodvibes I LOVE all your ideas so far you really have everything so well organized!!

I can't wait to read more!!! :woohoo:

Oh, by the way that image of Ariel by the castle is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I got alot of wedding things going on right now so I'll do a small update today and probably a bigger one tomorrow.

I purchased items on ebay and I WILL NOT LOOK BACK!

These are the ones that one - http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/seasidealluregarter.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/seasideallurebasket.jpg

Note on Flower Basket: DF has 4 nieces all under the age of 4 - that's too many girls at once throwing petals. There are two sets of sisters though so I'm gonna seperate them into pairs with their sisters. Here's the idea - At African American weddings I've seen on WE network (I'm constantly watching their wedding shows!) They have their flower girl walks first ringing a bell and screaming the bride is coming. Well I really like the bell ringing especially since I'll have an outside ceremony. So I'll have the older pair (will be 6 and 4 at the time) ring the bells (that's if they are in it since his sister is iffy) and the second set who will be 5 and 2.5 will be one Flower girl and the other will hold a wand since she's so young (and that's if she makes it down the aisle)
So that's my plan for the surplus of little ones!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/seasideallureguestbook.jpg

Note on Guest book - I like the concept of the guestbookstore books with the detailed pages, but 1) I didn't love any of their designs and 2) my guests will take forever thinking of something to write that there will be such a long one. I'm bascially having the guest book to just have and will probably never look at it again unless in pictures.

This is the top contender for the Champagne flutes that I will probably just give in and purchase this week.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/everaftersilverglasses.jpg

For some reason I really like the look of silver flutes, DF doesn't but he's giving in on this one because he's tired of me showing him pictures.

Ok some other planning:

Ceremony Decor
This is how I would like the aisles. I don't like alot of tulle and definitely no bows for me. I would like ribbon instead of rope in blues and greens.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/StarfishdecoratCeremony.jpg

Here's the program style I like and plan on making myself
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/ProgramsFoldingFans.jpg

And here's a graphic I found that matches my garter, basket, etc.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/tealstarfishdesign.jpg

I plan on using this graphic on my invites (along with the castle at the top) and placecards and such. I love it!

Note on the invites - I don't like any of the invites samples I recieved except for cards and pockets. I was really disapointed by the castle one (it must be the blue water looking vellum around it making it look good and that doesn't come with it)

So I'm making my invites with cards n pocket and I will be using shimmer paper (I'm borrowing from you guys!)

Next up, Bubble labels: Ok this is the reason I need to buy things now before I miss out. I found these buble labels on ebay with Ariel and Eric and I coudn't find them later! Now I found someone who is actually completely customizing bubble labels for me and she's been awesome! PM if you would like her user name - she's great to work with! I'll post the final design when it's finished.

Honeymoon Cruise: contacted Travel agent and she is revising some details. I changed our dining time to 6pm and she will be looking out for an internary so that I can book Palo's without missing dinner at Triton's (I've been posting questions about this on the Cruise boards)

Photography: I asked Randy a million questions via email- we set up a time to chat over the phone. Making progress on that front!

Dress Shopping: David's Bridal called back finally to make an appt. It's Wednesday at 3:30pm. I'm just going to look and try on dresses myself this first time to see what I like. I honestly don't like anything on their site but they are close.

Mom's chores: My mother is such a procrastinator! I've asked her to give me her wish list guest list and addresses too. And I've asked her from some dates that we could go shopping. I know Saturdays are busy at bridal shops (not looking forward to it, but with me starting a new job that's the only time I'll have and I'm assuming they book up fast) So I've asked mom again to do this, actually I've given her a list with other things like pick a date for Franklin Institute.

Music: I've been saving songs to an Itunes playlist whenever I found something I like. Anything not too kiddish fairytale, I've saved to it. Plus anything beachy too. So far this is what I have:

Ceremony
Bridesmaid entrace: Main Title of Little Mermaid
Brides Entrance: Instrumental Part of Your World (I'm a dork!)
I would also like to play Fairytale by Enya and the Jig from Mermaid when Eric and the sailors are dancing I think for Groomsmen but DF needs to choose too.

Reception
Wedding Party Entrace: Under the sea (self explanatory)

Bride and Groom Entrance: The Imperial March from Star Wars. I gotta let him have. How funny is it gonna be when we switch from under the Sea to this?:rotfl:

First Dance: One Dance -----Note on this, This is sung by Jodi Benson on an old Mermaid CD that was out in 1991. It was from the tv series and this song is about her dreaming about a wedding dance. It's a very pretty song without being overly mushy for me and not recognizable as a kids song. But DF wants his say so It might change to country, but right now it's that is:rolleyes1

Father Daughter Dance: my dad so far has picked I loved her first by Heartland. he's picking this because technically he was the first one to see me when I was born since my mom was passed out and there's a line in the song that says it

The Last Dance: Remember When, I know this is a Disney song but forget where its from. It's a good closing song.

Cake Cutting: Sugar, Sugar. My and Matt are so gonna shove cake in eachothers faces and I thought this song would fit us doing it.

Other songs I want to play:

It's not just make Believe from the Ella Enchanted Soundtrack
Kiss the Girl (DF absolutely loves this song, so it's not me here!)
Ever After by Carrie Underwood
Can't Help Falling In Love - DisneyMania version
Shake a Tail Feather - Blues Brothers (I wanna open up the dance floor with this, I love this song!)
Accidentally in Love from Shrek 2
When you Imagine (I love this song, it's from something Disney)
Centerfield (forget who it's by but Dad loves Baseball)
Friends in Low places by Garth Brooks (DF loves him and him and his friends somehow always seem to get togther to sing it at parties. I already know it's coming)
Whiskey Girl (DF sang this at Kararoke on like our 4th date with our friends and he was so embarrased!)
Lots of dance songs besides Macarona - I actually love line dances. I'm usually that one person who does them at events! (like I said I am a dork)

I'll be adding more as time goes! I just got the Little Mermaid on broadway CD in the mail! I saw the show January 3rd and Loved it! I'll be listeing to that to see if I can use anything.

Ok I should have more tomorrow! Hopefully anyways...

Well maybe that wasn't a small update

Next Up: I need to book our Car Rental for our site visit trip. Need to check SWA for the web special. And I will be posting picks on my pin and my shoes (more on why I have shoes later!)

mermaidbride1108

I got the finale samples for my bubble labels. I know it's a cartoon picture. But I figured with Bubble labels I can get away with it. Just no cartoon pics on the main stuff.

What do you think?

OK so I'm officially in love with your PJ not only an Under the Sea Theme but with The Little Mermaid too - woo-hoo!!!

I love how much stuff you have - you have great stuff, all so themed - I love it and I think I saw those "aisle" starfish on another website recently and thought they were great! I think you have already checked out my pics but Charming Events gallery http://www.weddingdecorator.net/gallery.htm

has a great shot of my bouque with the shells in but you could have starfish in there instead that could look cool - its in the Summer section first picture.

I also had a tiara made with shells in LOL not sure if that was a little TOO themed LOL but photobucket is down right now so I can't search for the picture but let me know if you want to see it.

Ok so today at 3:30pm I will be going for my first dress shopping appt at David's Bridal - I'm slightly frightened of them. I've heard some horror stories but I can get to them easily by bus (Only one car in our household, DF has it) and I'm going by myself for the first time. I actually shop by myself alot because I can relax and take my time.

Now my specific horror story of David's is one I was going to be a bridesmaid (they wedding was called off) we went to David's to try on and I was the try-on girl for the group of us. So when we tried on a dress I had our sales person really like this dress on me, but the bride didn't like it. Well I'm a bridesmaid so I'm gonna do exactly as the bride says. Well, the sales person brings out an order form!!! I'm like the bride said no and she's like well what do you think, what's your size and starts writing info down. I'm like What???

So I'm slightly nervous but I'm off this week and have the time to waste. So I'm going to leave my credit card at home and just try on to see what style I like best.

What are you thoughts on dress shopping? Did you bring anything with you?

What underwear did you wear? (sorry if that's TMI)

Anyone have any suggestions to what to kindly say to them that I'm not interested in purchasing, just looking? Do you think there's anyway I could say my mom has to see it first? Any suggestions on how to handle them?

I just found the dress, but said that I needed my mom (while I was almost in tears since she wasn't there!). Are you going to the one in the Northeast? If you find your way out to Bridaltown I could pop over and give you my opinion!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I'll definitely make my way over to bridaltown :goodvibes I'll let you know when I go. I'll be taking my Mom and/or MOH when I go there. Today is just a prelimary visit for me.

yeah I'm going to the one on Bustleton. I think I'm going to use the mom excuse if I run into any pressure.

I figured that would probably be the easiest for you. When I was at Temple I didn't know about that one and dragged my friend to the one in Manoa. She wasn't buying, just looking at styles. She had her dress custom made by a lady in Lancaster near her mom's house.

mermaidbride1108
02-06-2008, 09:20 PM
Ok, so I went dress shopping for the very first time today. I kinda can't my finger on how it felt. I'll just describe as best as I can.

I went to David's Bridal because it was easy to get there. I figured I would shop there at some point in my dress shopping so I went in there first, but I didn't go in thinking it was going to be the last shop either. Maybe I set myself up. I really went to David's to see what I like on myself. I'm VERY picky. And a certain part of a shirt, pant, whatever can instantly turn me off.

So I went into my scheduled appt I made a couple days ago over the phone. I was greeted by a desk with two women and sat down to fill out some paperwork. I didn't get a good feeling by this. I just didn't see if I wasnt purchasing yet why would they need me to fill out my life story. They promised it was only used by David's Bridal. So after about 20 minutes they finally decide who's going to my shopping consultant. I was floored by this. I made an appt so wouldn't they have someone already marked for me? Plus I gave this info over the phone. Anyways...

Anyway I forget what her name was. She had a totally different version from what I wanted. She takes me to the stack of dresses and ask me what I want - she doesn't really get it so I just let her pick dresses. A mix of mermaid and princess.

She puts me in the dressing room. And she walks in and out of it giving me a bustier thingie that was skin tight and very uncomfortable. Then a slip, then the dresses. As she does this the curtains are flapping and everyone can basically see. I'm not shy about my body really (I'm not all for being naked in front of random people either) But other people seeing me in my Bra and underwear didn't bother me too much, it's the same as a bathing suit to me. But still she could have been a little more discreet.

After I have on the bra top, and slip, she puts me in the first dress.

I wanted to see just the dress. She then insists on putting a veil on me and a tiara and then a blusher. Why put a blusher on for my first look I have no idea. I feel like I'm now covered in tulle. She then insists I need shoes. I'm impatient now and just want to look at the dress. But I know its her job so I let her do it. I'm really in no rush. Well she brings back the most uncomfortable shoes ever! I kept them on but I was just plain uncomfy the whole time. I took them off everytime I took off a dress.

So I get to see myself in dress and I say take the veil off. I'm actually scared of it. It was many, many layers of tulle. I just didn't feel me.

So wasn't in love with the top part of the dress, I liked the bottom.

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2631&prodgroup=10

here's the next one, similar, and I like the bottom and not the top.

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2998&prodgroup=10

Here's the next one, I flat out didn't like it. The top was prettier, I didn't like this bottom too much. It was too pick up for me. I didn't like the fabirc either on the bottom

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3347&prodgroup=10

So we get to the mermaid style.

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3360&prodgroup=10

I liked the cut of this one, but not the roses all over. I don't see roses as part of my wedding floral.

Now here's the one I actually liked, but I just had doubts. I didn't think I wanted a dress with color, but the sash looked really sharp I think. I also didn't want a long train, the other sales person said that David's Bridal will not let you drastically change a dress. Why would they care after its sold?
I showed my parents the pics later and my mom wasn't crazy and my dad goes "it doesn't do anything for your figure" And I'm like ok, thats a nice way to say you look heavy. So I think that's vetoed too. Now I know that It's MY dress and doesn't matter what they think. But I was already iffy so it just vetoed it anyway.

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3344&prodgroup=10

What I liked about it, the folds in the fabric and the U cut at the top.

Here's a pic of me, please excuse my hair, I really need a root touch-up. I'm going tomorrow!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2060003.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2060002.jpg

She gives me this one with no beading and with folds like I said I wanted to try on all along.

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=1223&prodgroup=10

Didn't like it. It was way to plain and did nothing for me.

He's the other one I kinda liked. It's an Oleg Cassini which I knew was part of their more expensive line. I liked it, I really did. She put me in a size 4 though and it was skin tight. I take a 6 usually. I have no idea why but some of the dress she had me try on she was pushing it to get me into smaller sizes. :confused3

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2801&prodgroup=10

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2060004.jpg

I liked the detailing on this much, much better. It wasnt so over the top. But It just wasn't it.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2060005.jpg

I realized these things about my future wedding dress that I will take with me from now on

1. I don't like strapless dresses. I don't like how they look. I rarely wear tube tops so I guess that's why.

2. I don't like alot of beading or lace

3. I hate multi-tiered veils.

4. I do like folds, but not exactly full pick up skirts.

5. I still don't like trains.

6. Mermaid styles are still not out of the picture yet!

7. I really need to cut out more pics so I'm more clear on what I like.
So to be nice I made another appt for Saturday at 10:00am. I told them several times that I will probably cancel because I have to check with my mom first. So I'll just cancel for now. I really want to keep shopping and my mom gave me the ok to schedule dress appts and we'll go shopping together, yay!!! My mom such a procrastinator that I'm so happy she's ready to go!

Sorry for the majorly long post, but here's my last thought on dresses. I have that sinking feeling I'm going to have to get my dress custom made. Not one dress has really JUMPED out at me. I like the other ones I posted but I'm just not in LOVE  with every single aspect of one dress. I'm nervous becuse it can get pricey. I found a tailor who said she can duplicate any dress you bring a pic of.

All in All, David's wasn't so bad. I just didn't fall in love with anything.

So here's the checklist for tomorrow. I'm down to only two days of my week off:guilty:

1. Call DFTW
2. Call Randy
3. Get hair done (not wedding but still have to do it)
4. Apply for passport and get pic done
5. Call some Bridal shopes and get some Appts made!!!

In my 3 year career so far, I never saw that abbreviation, but Most of that time I was at a tv station.

My colors are actually a deep aqua or teal and the manager said she wasn't sure if they carried it in that color.

It does look sharp though I think, Oh well:confused3

What did you use charming events for? How were their prices?

OK at the time in 2004 Charming Events prices were good - I can try and dig out my quote from then but obviously there have been prices increases since then.

Emily was great to work with and she totally got the Under the Sea Theme feel, she's very artistic and her talents do not just lie with floral. She did all our bouquets and button holes and 3 corsages. She then did our petal aisle and made the rose petal cones, I think my wedding was the first she had made those for and she's since used that style on some other weddings - they were beautiful. She did all our centerpieces and our sweetheart table and gift and place card table and cake table. She sourced all the seashells and conch shells.

She was really good and somewhere on this board I had a total cost so I'll try and dig it out for you :)

A year later some friends of mine got in contact with her and she made a lovely anniversary present for us of one of our original Conch shells filled with wax and other shells from our wedding to make a candle - it was beautiful.

I had sent her my swatches of both my dress and BM dresses and she matched the roses perfectly.

LOL as you can tell I can't rate her highly enough but I know that it's harder now for brides to go outside of Disney for floral because of the minimums - So if I had to use Disney for anything in order to use up my minimums I would totally use them for floral because I totally believe they can recreate a lot of the ideas that Brides take them. That said at the time of my wedding Charming Events did come in cheaper than Disney, but I think part of that was because it's Emily's company and therefore she seemed more negotiable.

i really liked the mermaid dress. i actually saw that dress online on david's sight and thought i should get it, why? i have no idea...anyway, here's my opinion...

IGNORE THE DAVID'S SALESPEOPLE.

they try to add on EVERYTHING. i wonder if they get paid on commission...they did the same thing with popping veils on my head as well...ANNOYING.

anyway, i really liked the mermaid dress, but wasn't a fan of the sash. imho, i think they make waists look bunchy, unless they are actually built into the dress. i removed the sash from my dress and liked it soooooo much better. your mermaid dress was amazing, oh, and they say you can't change a dress, but you also don't have to to go their alterations department. go somewhere else, it'll probably be cheaper, then you can do whatever you want. they want to protect their brand image, so their alteration department won't change anything.

EEEK I'm sorry, but you look amazing in the mermaid dress. It is the most flattering for your figure. The other dresses are pretty too, but I think they hide your figure. You are completely not heavy, but you actually look slimmest in the mermaid dress. Maybe it's just that your parents want to see you in a more traditional gown.

I feel like I'm about to say something horrible! I'm not sure that that mermaid dress is right for you. Maybe one with a different "texture" to it - smoother with less of the rouching (sp?) would be a better style for you. I did see one that has a similar skirt to the very first link at the aforementioned Collegeville shop.

Have you you seen Wendy's (Mistressofallevil) dress? You might like that style based on what you described.

I really like the one with the red sash. It is so flattering and glamorous on you. The others all hide your gorgeous shape. I know some people are just prejudiced in favor of the big poofy traditional gowns (me included), but when I see someone who looks so great in one of those other styles, I just think they HAVE to do it -- not everyone can, so if you can, you should!

And, don't give up on finding your perfect dress yet. It looks like you have some time before you decide and there are likely at least 2 seasons' worth of new designs that will be coming out before you have to decide. Also, I found that some of the designs on the Davids' site weren't in the store and they didn't offer to order any in for me to try. You may want to look at their on-line catalog again, make a list of more that you are interested in trying, and then call around to other Davids stores to see if they have it in stock in your size for you to go check out. Good luck!

That's not horrible at all to say! To be honest, I just didn't feel like that one was 'it' you know? And since my parents didn't like (nor DF since I showed him once I ruled it out) I just crossed it out. But I'm still keeping an eye out for other mermaid styles...

Yea, David's Salespeople can be ignoring like that. I mean they just made me want to not look anymore because they kept putting on veils that i didn't feel comfortable in. And I actually like all white dresses instead of the color, so I was surprised how I kinda liked the sash, But I'll probably go with a solid white color in the end.

The one David's salesperson actually said I could take it anywhere and do whatever I wanted to the dress.

Update - I spoke to DFTW today!!!

Yay! If I wasn't sick on my week off I probably would have relayed more enthusiam to my consultant or planner? which do you get first?

So yesterday I called and spoke to an assistant who took all my info down

date
where I'm from
Did I look at the Wishbook
What kind of wedding
how many guests
locations I was thinking of
Estimated budget
And some other stuff I forgot already! I promise I'll write more down in the future

So the assistant says that someone will call me in 2 or more business days. I'm like great I had a week off and now I have to talk to them on my first day of my job. But the Consultant called today! We spoke of some things I wanted and I asked some questions about room block. I couldn't think of anything to ask, but now thinking about it all day, I have more to ask.

Anyway, we scheduled our site visit! Yay! Now I have to give the consultant our choices of times, dates, & locations so she can book us since our year date will be the week BEFORE we are down there. SO basically if we like what we see Then we are good.

And I also had a phone convo with Randy today! Yay! Once I send him the form tomorrow, he's booked for the wedding! And we scheduled our engagement photos that week too.

Now I emailed Ana and I'm waiting to schedule makeup with her. This will be my test phase, If I like her I'm going to just book her for the wedding.

I also finalized the changes for the cruise and DF will fax our contract tomorrow.

So here's the checklist

For the Site Visit
1. DFTW Site Visit scheduled
2. Engagement shoot with Randy Scheduled
3. Accomandations Booked
4. Need to book airfare and car rental
5. Need to book hair & makeup for photo shoot
6. Need to schedule Videographers appts
7. Need to schedule Officiants appts
8. Email Carolyn Ann's to see if maybe we can look around?

Is there anyone else we should try and meet with while we are there for the site visit? We also plan to go resort touring to see what places we like best at Disney property - can we do this?

For the wedding & honeymoon
1. Randy Chapman booked
2. Honeymoon Cruise booked
3. Bridal Shopping scheduled for 2/16/09 at Bridaltown
4. Bridal Shopping scheduled for 3/1/2009 at Arielle's Bridal ------------------------->(don't you just love them name!)
5. Passport Application completed today at Post Office

Also I purchased Hershey Kiss labels for the welcome bags. Hopefully they hold up with Florida Heat! Has anyone shipped their supplies down to Florida for their welcome bags to their resort maybe?

Here they are

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/sebastiankisslabels.jpg

I'm planning on keeping the characters to a minimum for the actual wedding, Using just the castle and the starfish and shells graphic for the invites, programs, etc. And then the reception maybe using characters for the table cards, and Starfish and shells graphic for menu cards. But I figured for the welcome bags, the small stuff and newsletters maybe I have some fun with Characters.

Since I start my new job on Monday, I won't be seeing you guys as much! :guilty: I've enjoyed spending my week off cleaning, and being addicted to these boards! Well wish me luck on my very first day!!!

Awww! I can't sneak over and peak at the dresses you will be trying on at Bridaltown. I'll be heading home to my cousin's shower that weekend. :( I hope everything goes well. If you get Gail tell her I said hello.

Oh yeah, I don't know if I mentioned. Bridaltown does not let you take pictures. If you have a camera phone you can probably sneak some in. They have a line exclusive to them that doesn't even have pictures on the internet. My dress came from that line, so I won't have pictures until I can go in for fittings.

I like the fitted one, too, but the folds are maybe a little much. Could also be the sheen of the fabric. I know when I was looking I was partial to certain fabrics.

Have you tried a halter style? It seems like most gowns out there are strapless, but there are some nice halter ones that might work on you - you have great shoulders!

Thank you! My Dad says the same thing, but I always thought he was just being a 'dad'. I haven't found any halter gown pics I like but I'll probably ask to try on some when I go.

Thank you! I had someone on ebay design them for me, when I recieve them I'll post pics and post her Info. I just don't want to post it yet until I recieve the finished product. She has been great to work with!

Here's my last update before I go back to work! I'm really excited but really nervous to start my new job. I have been trying to find a new job for the past year (it felt like it took ten years) and I finally got it and I'm starting to get really nervous! I kinda had my old job down so that I could do it with my eyes closed and that's just it I was bored! But I loved the people there. But I really wanted a salary increase and a step up career wise and I got it now, but I'll be starting all over again and won't have the comfy feeling like I had at my old job. SO wish me luck! Right after this post, I'll be picking out my first day outfit, which is going to be hard considering we really need to do laundry.

Back to wedding....

Veronica from beauty Speciale emailed me back and it looks like I'm scheduled for 8:00 am the morning for my engagement shoot. i could have very easily did my own but I wanted to try her out and since this is one of only two times I'll be in orlando, I'm taking advantage of it. I'm doing my hair done in waves and getting my makeup done. I didn't realize that they actually don't have a 'location' so they are coming to my timeshare off-site and it only adds $25 on to my bill for them to come to the Kissimee area. So another thing done, check!

Another thing I did today was organize all of our wedding stuff into an excel spreadsheet. I've starting this spreadshett so long ago and it's amazing how much info I've collected. It has our Budget, Guest list, Wedding choices, Vendor Contacts, Appts, Music Choices, Rehearsal Meal Options, Welcome Party Options, Honeymoon info like transfer, excurions, etc, and also a Payment schedule where I've been putting in our Deposits and when our next payment will be due (I only have Randy Chapman & the cruise on there though)Next thing to do in my spare time is to go through all of these bridal mags and throw them out! I've held on to too many of them and need to rip out the pics I want to save.

I still have to book our flight for Sept. and car rental, I really need to do that!!

Df and I got to talking and decided that we would rather have a later, beach ceremony then have the dessert party the same day. I really wish we could have done this, but we'll try to have a dessert party another day if possible.

So we've picked the top 3 Locations and dates to send to my consultant, once I have my list of ?'s, I'll send it to her.

Another thing I did is have DF look at Carolyn Allen's site, I also realized all this time I've been calling her Carolyn Ann's:rotfl:

I scheduled an appt for Df to take a look at their stuff, I'm waiting for confirmed on that.

We both like this because today we were talking about how the groomsmen could wear flip-flops. I thought this may kinda tacky but I'm not that concerned with groomsmens footwear on my wedding day

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/DFpossibletux.jpg

We'll see if it works maybe when we visit their shop

I found a pic from the Disney bridal line of the style neckline I like. I would like a little more on the shoulder though

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/snowwhitedress.jpg

Here are the bridesmaids flowers I really like, Tiger lillies )I think that's what they are are my fav flower) This pic is from Mary626 wedding. I first saw her on STVS wedding Demo and then I saw her on the boards and had to tell her how much I liked her wedding. She's really nice and I hope she doesn't mind me using her picture, but it was the best way to describe them to you guys!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/bridesmaidsflowers.jpg

In these colors (pic was borrowed from another DIS bride but I forget who!, But if you see my PJ, thank you for the picture!)

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/flowercolors.jpg

To be honest, I really want a small bouquet. I just hate heavy bouquets and won't want to carry it around and I'll just leave it somewhere which would be a total waste of money. I know I'll destroy my bouquet by the end of the night also because I'll probably be smacking DF with it too. I have a tendency to jokingly smack him with whatever I am holding. :rotfl:

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/savethedatestamp.jpg

And here's the ones I want for my invites. I really don't want our actual wedding to have alot of cartoon Ariel so I liked the little pic of Flounder in it!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/weddingstamp.jpg

I really wanted to take a picture of my shoes but the camera is dead so that will be my next update.

I also wanted to save the stamps I want from zazzle since I was in such an organizing mood today. here's the one I want to order for my save-the dates.

Ok, now it's time to pick out my outfit for my first day of work and get myself organized, wish me luck!!!!

You're doing a great job! Shopping for your dress can be very stressful, but it's fun too! How often in your life do you get to try on such beautiful gowns and then actually buy one of them?!

Can I just say that Bridaltown looks a little scary?

This dress has convertible straps - strapless, halter or spaghetti. Is that common? I'm out of the dress loop. I'm sorry the pic is so tiny. It was either huge or tiny.

Cam,

They have sooo many dresses there. I really feel like I've been pimping them out this past week. I found a dress there though. They do have a "plus" size building. I spent most of my time looking in there. I looked in the main building too, and was able to try on some things there. Good luck!

I'm kinda hestitant about Bridaltown too because I read negative reviews about them on other wedding sites. But they seem to have good prices and they supposedly carry the Disney line. It says on their website now their having trunks shows, but I couldn't get a straight answer when I asked on the phone if that means they'll have them there.

I go this Saturday. I'm already going through withdraw of wedding planning! Being off the whole week got me spoiled! So I'm looking forward to the dress shopping. I'll let you all know how it goes!

Some Quick Updates...

I emailed Heidi some questions and also emailed her our desired dates, times, locations, Check!

I also asked Beauty Speciale after reading Mermaid_Ariel Report to put me down for my wedding. I figured if I absolutely hate her (which I'm doubting) that I will let her know a whole year in advance that I'm canceling my appt.

Site Visit Trip:

1. Randy Scheduled for Engagement pics
2. Site Visit scheduled
3. Accomadations made
4. Researched Flight and car (will purchase tomorrow)
5. Confirmed appt with Carolyn Allen's
6. Confirmed appt with Beauty Speciale

I also have been thinking about my Save-the-Date which I will be sending out as soon as I get back from Disney in September. I plan on making magnets with one of Randy's Photos. I also bought address labels on ebay for these as well. I also requested more samples from Cards N pockets. I really like them and am thinking of going this route. Is there anyone else with similar shimmer designs that you would recommend?

I also have been thinking about Welcome bags...

My list
1. Tissues packets
2. hershey kisses
3. Chocolate Lollipops
4. Shell & Starfish Soap
5. Mickey Pens
6. I just purchased single packet Shout Wipes off ebay for really cheap

I plan on purchasing...
Goldfish Crackers and candy from oriental Trading
Band Aids
Postcards

I can't think of anything small that is travel oriented, Maybe Sewing Kits? I honestly don't want to overdue it and want to make it more snacks and travel stuff then fun stuff. I was thinking bottle water but it would cost more to ship and I don't feel like running around Orlando getting water. I want a quick and easy Welcome bag, or the easiest I can even make it:rotfl:

I also requested demos from A Moment 2 remember for their Video Services. I might beet with them as well. I still haven't heard back from Kennedy Video and really like them. I plan to meet with Starfruit and STVS definitely while I'm down there!

Rev. Kevin Knox has marked my date down too. He has been awesome! But honestly I really want to meet my officiant before I book him, so I plan on meeting him as well. I still haven't heard back from Jack Day though.

Any other Officiants I should contact? I need some suggestions...

I haven't done anything else. My job as been nothing besides orientation so far, I haven't done any work at all yet.

Just wanted to also post pictures of my shoes, my pin for flowers, and my flower girl tiara and here some notes on each.

I bought my shoes to wear as a guest to my cousins wedding. I wanted shoes to match a teal dress and I feel in love with these. I only wore them once, but everyone said they looked like glass slippers and such pretty wedding shoes that I boxed them up and put them away for my wedding. They will probably be my something old because I'm having trouble finding Moms or Grandmoms old wedding stuff.... I would like to get them cleaned though somehow

I found this pin on ebay before Christmas and loved it. I wanted to pin it on the bouquet somehow as my something blue. It's from Japan Disney and my DF brought it from Ebay. But I'm not sure about it because it is a little cartoony....

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2120007.jpg

My DF bought me this Tiara & Wand set a year ago for my Bday. I was supposed to wear it for Halloween but I forgot. I decided to put it away and would like my flower girl to wear it. It's nice quality but I'll replace the purple stones for nicer blue rhinestones.

Ok so here's what you've all been waiting for - the dress shopping report of when I went to Bridaltown - well here it is - DISAPPOINTING!

I know other brides have been there and really liked it, and even my new coworker told me the day before I was going that her freind bought her dress there and liked it, so I was getting exciting until we get there.

We arrive perfectly on time and first things my Mom says - It's not at all like it is on the website. Well I expected that, they show this like fountain and huge buidling on their site. It's a bright pink building that's actually much smaller.

So we go and I tell them I have an appt at 10:00am - they just opened. There like 5 people at the desk and they have this huge sign saying Disney Fairy Tale dress right behind the desk. They ask for my name and it seems like she's having problems with the computer, so they ask for my number. We wait. About 3 other girls, parties, whatever come in and go upstairs. I try to keep my patience and me and mom look at 50% MOb gowns, they are hideous!

So finally it's 10:20 and I ask am I waiting for someone? They tell me my consultant has called out and they are waiting for her to come to work? Well that's not my probaly but I'm pissed. They don't say they'll be with me in a moment, they don't say we are waiting for such and such until I ask. And I had an appt. And other girls that came in after me went to try on gowns already. So I'm getting pissed and I guess they realize it so one of the girls there say I'll just get you started until your consultant comes.

So she asks me these questions (and just remember this for my later comments)

1. What style are you looking for? I am looking for Off the Shoulder Mermaid or Princess gowns without a train preferably

2. What's your budget? I say I don't want to spend more than $1,000.

Well she says those gowns arew upstairs. So we go upstairs and there's other girls and such up there. And I have to share a dressing room. I'm not shy but just remember that for later.

So She says well look through these gowns and let me know what you like. Me and mom look through and its slim pickins. So I ask her if there's anymore , she says over here. So we go and I find a few and mom finds a few. But nothing is in the style I want. So I ask her if she's going to be my consultant today, she say well it looks like it. I'm now pissed.

So I try on gowns. I'm in such a bad mood and so dissappointed that I rush through them, not even thinking to take pictures. I can't even focus on the dresses. And usually when I'm pissed I'm pretty vocal. I try not to be obnoxious but It's hard so I'm trying to not be vocal but I tell my dad and the whole store kinda hears me saying that I don't have a consultant and I'm pissed because I made an appt.

So finally I ask her (because we drove an hour there and I didn't want to make it for nothing) do you have any of the Disney Gowns. She says she doesn't know. I ask if she has any gowns of the style I want (because what was the point of her asking me in the beginning) she says she doesn't really know the gowns that well and she'll try, but she doesn't find any. At this point Davdi's Bridal had better service!!!

Side Note: My dad was in the waiting area and he was having fun. He made some friends, he's just that kinda guy, people just start talking to him!:rotfl:
This group of girls were there from Maryland and they were also VERY disappointed. They didn't talk when me and my mom were in the room though, but they said they thought it was so nice he was there with me and started calling him Dad and asking his opinion. I think this is cool and really cute, but I think they didn't want me to get jealous so every time I was there they were really quiet. But the Maryland group said they saw the website and were just so disappointed. They were also upset they couldn't take pics. So I was glad it wasn't just me that was pissed.

I flat out tell her that I'm dissapppointed in service at Bridaltown. I really needed to just get it off my chest because I really did want to have fun with this. I just say to her, look I know it's not your fault and you've been very nice but I'm really dissapointed in BridalTown. I specifically made an appt and I have no sales consultant (a person who knows what dress are there). She doesn't really apologize, just kinda says I know. What???:confused3 But after that I say Thank you to her and I try to be nice. So my mood gets a little better.

So finally she says she doesn't have anything in my price range that I like. She offers to let us go downstairs. I'm about to say no because I figured this is just a sales tactic, show us the bad stuff and then the good stuff. But my mom says just go look.

So we go downstairs. First off - there's 6 or 7 empty dressing room! So why do we have 3 brides cramped into one upsatirs. Also, me and mom noticed that alot of the gowns were actually under $1,000, so we were really confused. So I found dresses I liked, but nothing I fell in love with. I'm having a hard time finding a style I like. Off-the-Shoulder is just not popular right now and it seems like no princess dress is without a train. I kinda feel like the princess styles are too big for me, like too much dress. Especially for a beach wedding. It ended with her saying that I should try on one of the Cinderella dress from the Disney Line because is off-the-shoulder. I ask her if I'll have someone then? She says she will make it with a specific person. Whatever, I don't know If I go back because I know the Disney line goes up to like $3,000.

So here's some pics, yes here's some pics from Bridal town. They told a bunch of other brides they couldn't take pics, but because they must have known how pissed I was, they let me. Who Knows?:confused3

For most of them I forget the designers. But here's my pics

This is the only gown they had off-the-shoulder. I didn't like it.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/dress12.jpg

This is the only Disney dress they had, I actually saw it by accident! We showed it to the Sales consultant and she's like Well what do you know, we have one! I asked her which princess and she had no idea. I thought it was Ariel because of the style but I found out later it's actually Sleeping Beauty

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/dress9.jpg

I have to say I really, really liked it. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a little too plaing, but I loved the cut.

Well that's the BridalTown Shopping experience. I'm thinking about making an appt at GroupUSA for the hell of it. I found this dress on their site, that I really like.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusadress.jpg

So GroupUSA this saturday maybe and Arielle Bridal next Saturday. I'm thinking I'd like to make an appt at Exquisite Bride but I'm afraid they might be pricey. Stay tuned because I'll have more updates later tonight.:surfweb:

Other Updates...

Friday night I got a Folder with a ton of information from Heidi. I knew most of it, but DF really liked looking through everything. He said it was nice to have something to hold and flip through. They actually have a menu now called 'Ariel by the Sea" I thought this was pretty cool. But to be honest I don't love any of the menu so I'll probably just customize one.

I also got more Cards N Pockets samples, It looks like that is what I am doing for invites. I copied this image from another Dis Bride. I don't remember who but, Thanks for it!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Invitationspocketfolder2.jpg

I plan on using Saphire for the pocket, and Pearl for inserts and possibly Light Aqua or Tiffany for the invite. I am going to use the castle graphic and possibly the seashell graphics I posted earlier. I also found this ribbon on ebay and bought it, If I have enough, I plan on using it for the ribbon to wrap around the invite.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/seashellribbon.jpg

I also found a big deal at Oriental Trading, like once a week or once every two, I look through wedding store sites, ebay, & oriental trading for deals. I found this and had to buy them Immediately

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/totebags.jpg

They don't go perfectly with my fairytale theme, but they work and they were only $5.97 for a dozen, that's $.50 for each!!!! SCORE!

I was orginally gonna do these, but since I found such a great deal I'll use the bags above.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/WelcomeBags.jpg

I also bought these because I just couldn't pass them up. They are going to be my 'fun' thing in my bag

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/fishgames.jpg. They are fish travel games. So Cute!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/fishgames.jpg

I also saw these and almost bought them but I decided not too. I want to do a donation as my actual wedding favor so I don't know what I would use them for. But I know there's other Under the Sea Brides so I'll post them.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/fishboxes.jpg

I also find a greeat 'quote' I'll call it for my stationary. I found this site that had a list of all beachy wedding stuff. One site had ribbon to sell and one of them was

"Wish Upon a Starfish" I think this fits perfectly!!!

Other stuff I found Browsing over the weekend:

Another cake - I like the wave design, it it's not too much more I might add it to my cake I posted earlier.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/cakewithwaves.jpg

I also found more Beach products. I love these for Decor pieces foe the nonguest Tables, but there like $150 for all three. And how do I get them to Disney? More stuff to Ship! We'll see!

I figured I can light floral to them

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/coralcenterpeice.jpg

A necklace I really love
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/starfishnecklace.gif

One last thing before I'm done - I just wanted to post some designs I got from the design board, these people have been great and I thank them very much for their kindness.

For the Honeymoon

For envelopes for our Vendors

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Arielenvelope.jpg

This was designed by Pat but she hasn't visited the boards in awhile, but she does great work that I wanted to post it

That Sleeping Beauty dress is beautiful! Love the neckline & the simplicity.

Are you anywhere near Anne Bailey's? I don't know what it's like there now, but a million years ago it was quite a nice place with a great selection of gowns and good service. It's in Bucks County.

Thank you!!! I really like it because of that too, I just thought it was maybe too simple. But right now it's the only want jumping out to me

I never heard of that place, but now I'll go check it out, Thanks for the Tip!!!

Ok, one more post for tonight

Heidi sent me some pictures of the locations I wanted to see. I'll post because other Dis'ers have been asking about Beach Locations too.

Here they are...

WP Beach - my 1st choice
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/WPBeachLocation.jpg

The early bird location...Epcot Germany
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Germany5.jpg

The other beach at Yacht Club, not really a good photo though
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Shipwreck_Beach3.jpg

Seabreeze Point - I have a question about this, I'll post in the main thread
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Sea_Breeze_Point_Ceremony.jpg

And Living Seas, my reception Choice
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Living_Seas_and_piano.jpg
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Living_Seas_1.jpg

Also, I've been thinking about California Grill alot because I had to nix the Dessert party with the heat. Now it says on the website that there isn;t a dance floor, but my info in my packet says dance floor decreases maximum capacity. If you only have a small amount of guests, say like 30, could you still have a dance floor with Cali Grill? Also do you get to watch Wishes if you have that location?

And some questions

Wow, the beach location looks really nice! Everything looks good.

The Napa Room at California Grill can fit 30 people with dancing or up to 50 people with dinner and no dancing. I really wanted this location so we could see Wishes but we are possibly having 40 guests. I also wanted dancing so we wouldn't have enough room.

I'm sorry the Bridaltown experience was so bad for you. I had such an easy time there that I was hoping that you would find your dream dress there. That being said, you look great in the Disney bridal dress. I think it looked the best out of all the ones that you've shown us so far. Hopefully you can find something at your next stop!

Sorry Bridaltown blew, don't you feel like you can't get good service anymore lately..when I went to Macy's bridal salon to look at BM dresses I stormed out of there, the whole thing was horrid,it was my only bridezilla moment through this whole process.

Well I love the Sleeping beauty dress on you.It fit's you so well.Look's great on you.The last one looks gorgeous too,I hope you have better luck at groupusa.

This is good to know. We are inviting 56 at the moment, but don't plan on everyone coming (but we may add more) but I'm thinking if we get alot of declines to think of this location too ... since I'm really disappointed about not ended my wedding with a dessert party:guilty:

Ok so I have some Updates... but first, Mermaid_Ariel, if you read this before I post the flowers, don't worry I'm waiting for very slow photobucket to upload all my pics! I'll post the flower pics soon!

I promised myself I would go to bed early tonight so I don't know how much of my update I'll get done. I have ALOT of pics to post.:hourglass

First update is... I purchased the airfare for the site visit trip. I still haven't received Jack's Pack yet, nor booked a rental car. Starfruit Productions Demo is in the mail...and I haven't heard back from Carolyn Allen's yet about rescheduling our appt.

Now on to the second update...I wanted to post this ASAP so I could remember my experience

I went dress shopping last Saturday at GroupUSA. What drew me in is a great Mermaid style dress that was only $500 bucks! Almost all of their dress are under $650. So I thought it would be awesome if I found something because I'd have some legroom in the budget. We'll so far, no such luck!

If anyone could help me with rotating my pics, please let me know. The dress pics are from my cell and for some reason in photobucket when I rotate it doesn't save it. Any help would be appreciated.
There are two parts to this review, the first part I left the store in tears...
The second part, was better, :upsidedow I have some dress contenders now. But I haven't really fallen in 'love' yet with a dress. I almost settled and bought something because it was almost what I was looking for, it was inexpensive and didn't have a train. But it was sleeveless and it didn't come in white.

The first review...

I was exactly four minutes late and I ran to the counter and said I was there for a bridal appt. She called someone on the load speaker and told me to go back so I did. A women comes out obviously like shes looking for someone so I'm assuming it's me. She asks me if I have the appt and I tell her yes. She then asks me "well, where's the Dress?" And I tell her, it's my first Appt. I haven't tried anything on yet, And shes like 'well why did you schedule an appt with a seamstress" WHAT???:scared1: I explain that I didn't and she's laughing and tells me the other woman would help me. So she passes me off on this new person that I learned later it was her very first day. She tells me that She'll be with me in a moment, but new girl will start helping me until she's free.

The new girl tells me to look around and let me know what I like. Well she disappears forever and I finally just start pulling dresses off the racks. I tell her I had a specific dress in mind to try on(as posted earlier) and she looks for it. After some confusion, it turns out they have it, YAY! So I take 3 dresses with me and try some on. She tells me to let her know what I like and she'll try and find it. So I turn down pages in their catalog and give it to her. She basically looses the catalog until later.

Here's the first almost dress. It was the first time my Dad about me in a dress. But my Mom didn't like it. The bottom isn't what it looks like. The tulle is kinda not attached in some places, but I did try on this dress three different times because I did like it. I didn't like the seams down the front either.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa1.jpg

Here's another, this was very princessy, but it just wasn't it. Didn't like the train.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa7.jpg

The other sales person, I'll refer to as Mic (shortened her name) is kinda passing by saying if I need help just ask and giving comments. Mic asks when the wedding is and I say next Sept. I realize later that it must be she thought I wasn't buying, so she stopped helping me and left me to newbie.
My mom these three and this is where it gets bad.:sad2:

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa5.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa10.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa9.jpg

I run out of dresses and it's hard to look around since you have no shoes on and you are in a dress. And I don't think my mom is the best shopper helper. She find stuff she likes, but not that I like so I've been relying on the sales associates knowledge to help. Big mistake.

I ask Newbie to find this specfic dress because I can't reach it. I'm not demanding, just asking for her help. I ask her if she's found any of the other ones I marked in the book. She looks at me with the face "oh yeah I was supposed to do that" and lies to me (I find out later she kinda did lie).

So I'm frustrated. I made the appt and I'm getting no help, they have a line of people waiting for a dressing room and I'm like I look like a b**** if I hog a room, but I really wanted to try on more. So I get dressed and figure I can call it a day. But I'm so disappointed.

So we walk through the store and I see just about every dress I marked down. I'm pissed now. I see the dresses I was pointing to and almost everything in my sizes. See they kept telling me if they had something it wasn't in my size. Well most bridal stores have one size to try on and then you order it. GroupUSA has several to try on and can order more if you find one you like. I asked this in the beginning so I was clueless. Give me a size larger, just let me try it on! I ask to speak to a manager because I feel I made an appt and I didn't get good service. The manager ignores me twice. :furious:

So I start picking up stuff and so does my mom I march right back to the rooms and wait. No one helps me. At this point I'm so pissed, so I'm telling the entire waiting room what just happned, not really classy I know, but I was just so disappointed by another store that I couldn't help it. I finally stop waiting and me and my mom take over an empty room (after I check no one wanted it) At this point I ask for help and I forget what she says. I ended up just so frustrated I satrt crying while trying on a dress I really, really liked. It was a princess dress without train! But I'm just too upset and want to leave.

Here's the no train princess dress.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa4.jpg

The seamstress sees me so upset and finally the manager comes back and my Mother BITES HER HEAD OFF! My mom rarely gets pissed and sticks up for me, but I love it when she does! I know it sounds strange but I felt so much better she did that. My Mom really lets her have it.

So we leave and I cry. My mom and dad and I go to dinner and talk about what happened. My dad (who was in the waiting area the whole time) said that the newbie girl had no idea what she was doing. She kept asking Mic for ehlp in finding my dresses and Mic said she was too busy. Mic would point to the section a dress what at and newbie just felt it was too much work so didn't really look.

Somehow, my mom talks me into going back. She knew I really liked some of the dresses and said don't let pissy people ruin this experience for me. I almost didn't based on principle, I didn't want to give that store my money, but I let my mom walk me back. I figured if I saw something I loved I would go to Jersey Group USA and buy it there.

So I go back and my mom must have said something to someone because she ran right to bridal and then came back and said lets go we have a new sales person. The store was empty. This person was really great, but a little too upfront with her opinion. I like upfront people but She would straight out tell me something would look bad on me when I actually would really like it. So I don't know if it was a good experience, but it was better.

Turns out, some of the dresses I liked were quincerara dresses. Basically princessy dresses that didn't come with a train. T (new sales girl) must have told me 3 times and I said I really don't care I like the dress. She puts the three quincerara dresses to the back and I just try them on anyway.

This is so far, the dress I love but it doesn't come in white!!

Mom and I really liked this one, but my Dad didn't
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa2.jpg

I loved how simple and elegant this was but I know I'll regret not getting a somewhat poufy dress for my wedding so this was out.

I have more pics to show this one better - they didn't all upload for some reason.:badpc:
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa11.jpg
I asked to see this one and T tells me that it very pretty in the book and thats where it should stay. She says that any jewelry will pull on it. I ask to try it on anyway. It was nice, but not it

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa14.jpg

ANother train
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa15.jpg

And this last one which was super cute, but just wasn't it. I danced around alittle because this dress reminded me of the Julia Roberts 'bell' dress in runaway bride.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupyusa8.jpg

So here's the top contenders
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa18.jpg
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/groupusa12.jpg

But I have some cons for both so I'm gonna keep looking. She did tell me because of the what happened she would give me 20% off whatever I bought, but I didn't want to purchase anything yet. Especially cause I was even more hesitant with their service.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my Arielle Bridal appt for this Saturday but will reschedule more for the end of March. I need a break already!!!

I have alot more updates, such as more purchases, welcome bag stuff, and the bridesmaid necklaces I'm making from my inspiration of Lurkyloo's teal necklace and a necklace I found on ebay. Hopefully I can post tomorrow or later this week.

Another note, I haven't been able to post on alot of PJs as much as I would like to, but I am enjoying them all! I can't be on the DIS as much on the new job, even though I'm really bored right now at work. It seems they don't like change and no one wants to give the new person any work! I keep hearing to just go with the flow and I'll get busy, but it sucks because I have to lurk instead of actively posting so I dont get cuaght at work!

To finish off the night, here's a pic of all the wedding stuff I need to clean up before I go to bed. I dug it all out so I can take pics for my PJ and now I have to put it all back!!!

I started wedding dress shopping about 18 months in advance (totally fun to feel surrounded by layers of taffeta), and I tried on dozens of dresses. I found the "one," though, only after a few very close calls. The point is: don't worry at this point! You still have another whole season or four of dresses; yours might not even be out yet. It's great to have backup options in case you never find one that is absolutely 100% perfect, but as long as you can wait until the right one comes along, you should. (Unless you want to buy multiple dresses, and there are plenty of brides on here that have done that...)

Our colors are pretty similar to yours (aqua, green); have you looked yet at bridesmaids' dresses?

I just realized from my ticker that today is exacty 18 months until my wedding!!! Yay! I know it's still really far away but it just feel better to say tomorrow, 'I'm less than 18 months' :thumbsup2

I wanted to update this last night but had to get to bed, so on to the third update!

I made some purchases, items were shipped, I decided to make necklaces, and recieved some information from DFTW.

I plan to be as descriptive as possible and include as much as I can in my PJ. it's to help me stay on track as well. My PJ will probably be 100 pgs long by next August!

Items for welcome bags

I really like the idea of a welcome bags because I never seen it done before. Plus I really don't want to do favors at my wedding and this is a way to get the shopping bug out of my system! :rotfl: I'm having fun finding stuff at the best price possible. I love shopping challenges.

Here's the canvas totes I found at OrientalTrading.com. They came out to .50 a bag
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2250015.jpg

But they are much smaller than I thought, so at first I thought I'd wasted my money, but it will actually work to my benefit. I know nobody will probably use them anyway, but I wasn't paying that much for a nicer bag. Plus, now I don't have to buy that much to fill the bag.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2250016.jpg

I also found these fish travel games. They came out to .66 a piece. And they fit with the theme.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2250012.jpg

I also purchased these fish bags for I think .10 a bag for any loose snacks
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2250011.jpg

And my 116 Shout Wipes from Ebay. Came out to .13 with shipping.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2250017.jpg

So far my welcome bags...
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2250018.jpg

I also purchased the Disny notebooks from Target for $1.00 for two last night. I forgot to take a pic seperately. Also shown are the bandaid holders I've been secretly stealing from work. And the Disney Pens I bought as a lot on ebay and also the tissues I bought it packs of 9 from the dollar store.

I also purchased these from Oriental Trading for our payments that will be due the day of the wedding.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2250013.jpg

I also went to ACMoore on Sunday and they were having a 25% off sale on everything, so of course I had to buy stuff.

I bought these T-shirts so I could start practicing on making some wedding shirts and also the Lollipop sticks and wrappers since they were on sale.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P2250020.jpg

I've been inspired by Lurkyloo's necklace because I love how it looks in her photos. I definitely want to wear a blue necklace but since I don't have my dress I can't start thinking about jewelry yet!

I have more on this subject so I'll update later..... Gotta get back to work at the moment!

WOW I just realized I haven't update the entire month of March. I dont have alot of big updates at the time. I have bought a TON of stuff! I really need to get off ebay!

I haven't been bridal shopping for the whole month and I think I'm ready to go back again! I realized I really need to get into gear because throughout April & May I have very little weekends to shop and then summer hits and I'm a year out from the wedding

Talking about time flying, I'm not only 17 months from my wedding, it seems only yesterday I couldn't wait to just make it to the 18 month mark.

I have a ton of stuff to take pictures of and show you all! Plus I think I've selected an invitation, at least the start of one, now I'm thinking of what I'd like to use to embellish it.

I also heard from DF's mom that she can book 2 weeks of her timeshare at a Disney resort! She's thinking that she would book a resort for her other two children and their families and then her and her husband, She has her pick of Boardwalk villas and Saratonga Springs and the room sleeps 8. If she does this, that's 14 nights taking care of for the room block, plus my parents and ourselves and that means I won't have to stress about the minimums! Yay!

I have also been obessed now with earning 'rewards' to save up for our wedding. I got a Disney Visa in November and have been using it to pay for everything and then paying it off right away to earn the rewards! I'm stocking up as much as I can!

I also joined Sunshine Rewards! I heard about this site from Lurkyloo (she posted a link somewhere and I hope she got credit!) and now I'm soooo addicted! At first I was a little skeptical but now I love it! The credits add up really quickly and I'm almost up to $30 in credits!

I also signed up for the Disney Honeymoon registry and got the free tote bag (thanks to OceanGddss) It's very cute, but the card took forever to reach me. I'll post pictures later this week.

I promise I'll post more later!!!:flower3:

We used Sunshine Rewards too, although we aren't as savy of shoppers we still ended up with enough to pay for a few meals :goodvibes

How does sunshine rewards work? Do you just take surveys and they pay you?

mermaidbride1108
03-27-2008, 11:54 AM
*************** works by taking surveys and also by shopping.

The surveys you put in your email and answer some questions and then with shopping, look first at a wesbite you are going to make a purchase to see if *************** has it on their site. Alot ask for alot of information but the daily opinion survey credits .80 cents everyday if you take it and are eligible for it, like it they have a kids survey up and you have kids or if they have a car survey and you are planning a car, similiar to that

They have disneyshopping, ebay, target, sephora, and a ton of other smaller businesses. But they have stores that you actually recoginize, not bogus ones. and depending on the stroe you get like 2% of your purchase back, some are like 8% but it varies on the store. you just click on the link from sunshine rewards otherwise you won't get credited. I just bought my mom an eeyore necklace form collectibles today and checked sunshine first and they list them as a store! So I got i'll get 8 bucks I think just for clicking through sunshine at a store I was planning to make a purchase from anyway.

You can also do paid clicks for .01 which is you click on a link (like yahoo jobs) and you get a penny for it and the same with emails, they said out like a newsletter email and you get one penny for reading that.

It really adds up pretty quick, I've been a little addicted!

Lurkyloo - I'm glad you got credited! Thanks for referring me!

Roseviolet - thanks you! I do you they have have referrals now, it's so exciting!

Figment fan - I'm thinking any extra dollars are a bonus!!!! I'm gonna take advantage of the time I have every way I can to earn dollars! :goodvibes

I'll probably post my update tongiht so there's more to come later:hug:

I've been gona for quite awhile because my sister lost her husband at the end of April 08. I haven't had the urge to really even think about my wedding very much since then, but I've slowly moving back on track.

I have PLENTY of updates. I've had my site visit with Disney (Heidi is awesome!) and meet with all of my vendors.

I see that there is a new organization set in place, before I start to get back into the flow of wedding planning and tell you my updates since April, could the moderators please move me into the proper forum?

Thank you!

So I've finally forced my self to have the time to sit and update my PJ, but first I need to sidetrack and explain some changes in my life...

I've learned a hard lesson in that blood is thicker than water. My sister is now a big part of my life and I am hers after a 5 year estrangement. The big change is due to my Brother-in-law's passing. From April to August I basically pushed aside any wedding thoughts because it was just too hard to think that I'm starting my marriage and I'm lucky to be at a very happy time in my life when my sister is living any woman's worst nightmare. It's been really difficult so much that I can't really but it into words for you...

After much thinking and stress, after several months of rekindling our sistership, I've asked her to be a part of my wedding. It was a hard decision because I felt as though it was cruel to ask of her, like shoving it in her face that I'm getting a husband and she's lost hers. Everyone in my life doesn't feel as though I'm doing this and I know she doesn't either, but it's still hard for me. I want her in my wedding, but don't want to cause her any more pain? I know that's sounds really confusing...She's enthusaistically accepted and is really excited to be a part of the wedding.
In a way it's helped her because she has something to be happy about, theraputic because she has something to talk about when people ask her hows she's doing, you know, those people that ask just to see if you will ball your eyes out... Please excuse me I've started to think people are just stupid. You have no idea how many people congratulated me on my engagement when I was standing 5 feet away from her at her husbands funeral. I wanted to scream to all of those people "How stupid are you!!!!" But anyway my point is that it's been very hard to do wedding stuff during this difficult time, but my mom keeps telling me that I'm only going to hurt her more if I start hating myself, so I've been trying to go full steam ahead with wedding planning

Ok 1 rant over...

Another big change is the absence of my supposed best friend. She was supposed to be my Maid of Honor, well Matron when she decided to have a quickie wedding at a court house. I was happy for her, but just felt she gave in to her now husband because he views weddings as stupid, but I was happy for her...

We went to Disney together when we went for the site visit and bascially alot of drama happened that I don't feel like reliving again by typing it all out. Long story short, Matt and I had a fight and we got over it, but apparantly my ex best friend thought I was a drama queen and gave me the silent treatment the rest of the trip. Matt & I preceded to enjoy ourselves while they ignored us, confused because our fight was stupid and ended in one day, and didn't affect their trip at all...

But apparantly she had some harsh feelings toward me brewing for awhile over stupid stuff and chose to not talk to me about it, even though we have always talked our problems out in the past. Once we got home from Florida, she's ignored my phone calls and emails and is refusing to speak to me. I still don't know what I did wrong and have spent so much time stressing over what I did...

But I also realized that she hasn't been there for me in a long time, she wasn't there for me when my sister lost her husband and I really needed her, so I've accepted that maybe she wasn't that great a friend after all. Now, I have to mention that my family and other friends think she's been jealous because I'm having my dream wedding, but she didn't, but I never thought of her to be like that. Believe me, I've been jealous of her many times of my life becuase she's very lucky to have such a loving family, but I never thought she would ever be jealous of me because she could have had a HUGE wedding if she wanted to, she could have blew me away, but she chose not to. She told me in Disney before we fought that she was trying to get pregnant and I was happy for her. I have to be honest though, I was a little hurt that she decided to start trying this year and I was worried that if she was pregnant she wouldn't be able to fly and be my Matron of Honor. But I also understand that her sole purpose in life is not to be my matron of honor and that she has her own life to live and I completely understand that. But it seems now she didn't really care that much because she's pregnant as of as soon as we came home from Florida and it's hard to plug my ears when other friends say that she might have caused the fight to not be in the wedding and so that she could get pregnant. I guess I'm just at a loss because it's hard to imagine my wedding without her, but being as she's not trying to work things out, I just need to move on

Ok drama and rants over!!! I just felt like I should explain some things going on because they relate to the wedding and you can understand some things I may write in the future and not be confusing when I change things that were already said in my PJ earlier...

Now on to the good stuff!!! Next post-the wedding dress!

mermaidbride1108
09-17-2008, 10:13 PM
Ok so Before Eric passed I had been to several shops looking for my dream dress. Unfortunately, I haven't had much like with Bridal stores and the second to last one was the worst.

It's another drama story I just can't relive again! Basically My mom, sister, (ex) best friend, My like a little sister friend, MIL, and SIL all fought WW3 with Arielle Bridal. All I can say is don't go there! It was that Bad!!

Now, after this store I was recommended to Aimee Michelle Bridal in NJ. I read some bad reviews but finally realized that every bridal shop has bad reviews and I might as well suck it up

So My mom, sister and me went and starting to look for dresses. I went to look for the Maggie Sottero Vogue in particular but even though it was on there website, they didn't carry it:headache:

So I find some dresses I like and the first one I tried on I just feel in love with:love:

Now after I tried this on, I rushed through all of the others so I could try it on the second time and that's when I realized it must be it! I do admit I have had some second thoughts when I look in photos, but I just remind myself how I felt the day that I bought it.

Now my experience at Aimee Michelle Bridal was great! I came in and was disappointed that they didn't have the Maggie dress, but ended up buying a dress that was half that price. Its a Jacquelyn Dress by Christine Wu. Basically I came for me appt and the sale woman listened to my likes & dislikes. She didn't really get what I was looking for so She let me, mom, and sister look for ourselves. I have to say I really appreciate that. If we had questions, she was there, otherwise she just stood to the side. She helped me try on the dresses and only gave opinions when she thought it was ok. She didn't try to sell me on any one dress. Bascially she just let me shop without any hassle. After all the bad experiences at prior bridal stores, I was so happy that it went so well.

So drumroll please....

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/img011.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/img010.jpg

Ok so I was going back and forth about a mermiad styles versus a little poufy style and I think I got both. I love the cut how it folds to my curves and comes out just underneath my butt. It's funny because we I started to try on dresses I was so against lace! But now I love the look because it's SOOO light. It was the lightest dress I tried on and it has the smallest of trains (sidenote: I hate trains)

And here's the superexpensive Tiara that if I knew the price first I wouldn't have put it on, but my mom was kind enough to buy my dress & tiara.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/img018.jpg

Now I didn't buy the veil because I really didn't fall in love the with any and felt that I could shop around online

Next up: Setting up all my vendors appts all in the two weeks before I leave for Disney!

mermaidbride1108
09-17-2008, 10:26 PM
Ok, so two weeks before we left for our scheduled trip to Disney to do the beginning stages of wedding planning, I realzied something: Whether I liked it or not, I was supposed to be planning a wedding and all the time I had thought that I had to take my time was out the window...

I had two weeks to schedule meetings with my prespective vendors and figure out how I was going to do everything in just one week in Florida.

I thought that I got very lucky and that everything was confirmed and that we had 2 full days dedicated to wedding planning...

Well I screwed up, BIG TIME!

Basically after I scheduled meetings with Rev. Knox, STVS, Cinemedia, Carolyn Allens, My engagement pictures and Hair & Makeup with Beauty Speciale, Disney changed my site visit because the Living seas was unavailable during my appt, well they didn't just change it once but three times! so I basically double booked us. I booked our site visit with Disney, Rev Knox, and STVS, Cinemedia on the very same day I scheduled the engagement pictures and Hair & Makeup trial. And I didn't realize it till Ana showed up at my door on Monday! Well I have to say Randy & Ana pulled through for me. They were absolutely amazing and we were able to reschedule the pictures and hair and make-up for Friday of that week. Ana was an absolute doll and really did not get mad at all even though she drove out to my condo. She was so professional and even better, just nice and completely sincere. I was so impressed by her that even if she did make me look like a clown, I was booking her for my wedding! Lucky for me, I loved how Lily and her did me up for the pictures. But let me not get ahead of myself and I'll start by writing about my week from day one: Sunday. But please excuse me while I was for the pictures to load, Be right Back!

:goodvibes Yeppers, but I honestly didn't have much time to really think about the layout of the ceremony, so I have alot to think about there. The dealbreaker for booking the GF Beach was that technically I'm booking the WP so I get to use thatas my back-up in case it rains:thumbsup2

Aww Jackie I'm so so sorry about your sisters loss and your family. That is horrible :(

Isn't Heidi the best! She is so cute. I look forward to hearing about your session.

They were doing lawn work at the Poly that day and Randy made a joke about doing a picture that looked like the grumpy farmer and his wife, so Matt & I took the picture and did it! I'm not sure if Randy thought we would actually do it, but he got a real kick out of it. It was quite funny!:lmao:

Day 1: Saturday

Ok so Saturday was kinda boring for writing a TR. We flew to Orlando from Philly, picked up the rental car, checked into the condo and went to Target to buy pins to trade and some cereal for the week so on to...

Day 2: Sunday

We decided to go to Animal Kingdom this day because we had ressies at Boma. The first thing we went on was "A Bug's Life"

We then proceed to go on to Everest and then tried to get on Kali River Rapids but it was closed. So we headed to Dinosaur, and then Primeval Whirl. Then we headed over to the Nemo Show.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8240016.jpg

I loved it! I wish I had brought the video cramera to tape it, I can't for my nieces and Nephew to see it next year.

We then headed to Festival of the Lion and since it was starting to get hot, we hoppedover to MGM and did Aerosmith & Tower of Terror. Then we went to eat at Boma.

I had decided to try Boma because I wanted to try some of the resort restaurants but didn't want to try one of the pricier meals. I vaguely considered it for a rehearsal dinner because it's buffet and not in a theme park. I enjoyed trying all of the different tastes and loved the Zebra Domes, but not a fit for us for a rehearsal dinner. I do highly recommend checking it out. Our waiter was really cool and even asked how the wedding planning was going. It was kinda freaky. I must have said to the CM when I made the ressie that we were going for our site visit. But still felt like our waiter was reading my mind or something...

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8240039.jpg

I always forget to take pics when I eat, I don't know if I'll be very good at TR's, hopefully I'll learn before my PS.

Then we decided to check out the Savannahs. I definitely want to stay at AKL in the future! It's a beautiful resort, maybe for a one year anniversary trip...

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8240031.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8240041.jpg

Then we called it quits for the day and decided to get ready for what I thought was a thoroughly planned wedding appt day.

Up Next: Day 3, My long awaited Site Visit & my first visit to Franck's!

Jaclyn -- I remember really well how unhappy you were with your gown shopping experiences earlier this year, and I am so happy for you that the whole process turned out so well. Your gown is absolutely perfect on you. And it definitely combines the aspects of the styles you'd favored in the earlier shopping. You look absolutely beautiful! 9:00am - Site visit with Disney

11:30am - meeting at Panaera Bread with Rev. Knox

1:30pm - meeting at Panaera Beard with Steve from Cinemedia

3:30pm Meetining with Stan from STVS

5:15pm Dinner at Ohana's

So I was just about ready, and on time by the way, to head out the door to meet with Heidi. When Ana & lilly knock at the door. I said to them that my appt was for tomorrow, and she said no today. Well I went to check my printed emails for confirmation and Ana was right, I completely screw up:scared1: So I bascially started crying. I know, I know I probably looked like I was 5 years old, but basically I was in orlando for one week and thought that I had to chose my e-pics and trail with Ana or my vendor visits. I was sooooo embarrassed and just kept apologizing to Ana & Lily. I felt so bad! But Ana was so great about, she and Lily bothed hugged me and said everything will be just fine, we can reschedule the trail and she said she was sure Randy will understand. She said just let her know when Randy was available and we will rebook then. So Ana kind of calmed me down so that I could meet with Heidi, I was so upset because I messed up, but also upset because I had to reschedule my site visit so much that I lost track of my appts. So I believed Ana and went ahead and tried to reach Randy and reschedule and don't you know, Randy was available that Friday and so was Ana, YAY!!!!!!!!!!! So pixidust helped me with a miracle! So I felt a little better but still really anxious as I meet with Disney.

Because I was still feeling upset, I didn't get to do any pics during the actually visit:guilty: But I was able to come back later that day to take pics.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8250078.jpg

So we head in and meet with Heidi and she sat us down in the smaller room off to the left and we discussed minimums, dates, locations, room block, and some other details. I bascially knew what to expect by doing my research on this boards:thumbsup2 But it really helped my Fiance understand everything. I really thinking having meetings helped him in really get into the wedding planning and now he feels more involved.

During our meeting, I asked Heidi the new photography policy and as soon as I asked she knew I booked Randy! Again, made me feel like people at Disney can read my mind! Heidi & I made arrangements to have everything in by Oct 1st so that I could still use Randy, but unfortunately that limited my choices of ceremony locations. I still wanted to consider Sea Breeze Point and Shipwreck beach, but had to cross them off. Epcot Germany was also on my list, but it's being taking off as a location for DFTW. Apparantly there is a breakfast (I'm thinking it's the Akhershus Princess Breakfast) and guests just walk right through that location going to breakfast and it hss been causing problems for weddings. Plus I've heard it smells like food so early. It's a shame because this is a beautiful location but it was crossed off as well. So now that we narrowed our choices, we went outside to look at the WP, Beach, Living Seas, and Ariels. The entire time I've been planning this wedding I really loved Ariels and I've also been told I have no shot at it because it's being opened to the public. Apparantly the lastest is that Ariel's will be available until September 2009, but once I saw LS in person I chose that as my first choice.

More to come later!

I am finally getting around to updateing because I'm home sick:sick: I'm so exhausted but I'm waiting for someone to call me back from work so I'm still awake and figured I should really get back to my site visit TR.

Photobucket apparantly hates me because I'm still have issues loading my pics, anyone else use a different photo site they would like to recommend?

Back to the TR

Day 3, Monday: continued

First we head over to Living Seas and I fell in Love! The color scheme is the same color scheme I'm using for the wedding so it was perfect. I always thought that the green looked lime green in pictures, but in person it's definitely not as bright of a green color. What really sold me was having the aquarium windows. I'm so excited for LSS for my reception!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8250053.jpg

Also what we liked about LSS was the split level, the seperate room for bar & buffet, and the benches along the dance floor.

Then we headed to Ariel's. If I was having a daytime wedding, I might have picked this instead for my reception. Or if it still had the fish tank, but I didn't like how they would have to set-up a bar because they couldn't use the bar that was there anymore, so we decided on LS right there.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8250057.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8250058.jpg

Matt & I tried to videotape the sites for my Parents, but unfortunately we were moving way too fast for the camera so they didn't turn out so good!

After we look at Ariel's, Heidi takes us back to Franks. I completely forget what we discussed here but I know she mentioned calling right away about the MK shoot. I had wanted to look around on the beach area but we were running late for our appt with Rev. Knox.

So off we go to Panaera Bread, Rev. Knox was already there and I picked him out right away from pics on these boards. We loved him, Matt & I thought he was so warm and nice! I had alot of questions about non-catholic weddings. I have never been to a non-Catholic wedding so I had no idea what to expect for my own! Rev. Knox explained everything to us and we picked a Catholic opening prayer and the rest of the Ceremony will be a mix between religious and non-religious.

We also decided we wanted to do the Presentation Roses to our mothers as a Surprise and we will be doing the Sand Ceremony (I actually bought our vases already, I'm hoping they will be in soon) We didn't pick too much because we still have time, but I was really happy we got to meet our officiant. I actually sent Rev. Knox our deposit and we have also asked him to come for the rehearsal as well.

The next Vendor we meet with is Steve from Cinemedia. Now I haven't seen anyone use Steve here on the boards, so I was a little worried about using someone I haven't read that many reviews on, but I really liked his work and I thought his personality was just awesome! He really made me and Matt feel really comfortable and answered all of our questions. From the start he was really excited about our wedding and he really has great communication. Steve shows us some more DVDs and answers questions from Matt.

After Steve, we headed to the Grand Floridian lobby to meet with Stan from STVS. Now I know alot of brides use Stan, and he does great work, but Matt & I didn't like him. I don't want to bandmouth him here on the boards so I'll just say in the end we chose to go with Steve from Cinemedia.

Now at this, Matt turns to me and says you know, 'you did a really good job picking out all of these vendors, I didn't realise all that time spent on those boards that you actually did do stuff for the wedding' :rotfl: :sad2: Isn't he sweet? I laughed my butt but actually did take it as a compliment. These meetings were really for Matt more than for me. Matt is pretty much letting me do all the wedding planning, but still wants a say in ALL of the details. Now this can be frustrating because I'll do all this work and pick out things, and then he'll say no I don't like that, but then doesn't want to look for anything else! :headache: So bascially I give Matt a couple of choices and he has to pick one. So when he said this to me about all of our vendors, I actually took it as a compliment like I did a good job. :lmao:

After meeting with Stan it's about 4:30pm and our ADR is 5:15pm at Ohana's so we stroll over from GF to Poly and in the middle I get to look at the beach and WP more closely and took some pics.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8250087.jpg

We also looked inside the WP because it's my rain back-up

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8250097.jpg

Now we headed over to Ohana's. I made an ADR at Ohana's because I have never been there and really wanted to try it and we were also considering it for our Rehearsal Dinner. Well, we LOVED it:love: They seated us behind the Stove pit, which kinda sucked because we were up against this wall, but our waiter was so sweet and the food was awesome. Our waiter was nice enough to explain how they handle large groups and said that for our Rehearsal Dinner we would be seated at one of the long tables in front of the fire pit. He also gave me the Phone number to group dining and told me to call 6 months in advance.

The only thing we missed at Ohana's was the potatoes, I kept reading about these great potatoes, but they have been cut from the menu.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8250110.jpg

It was POURING that day! I think it was the only day we had rain, we went the week after tropical storm Fay.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8250112.jpg

So another decision made! We will be doing our rehearsal dinner at Ohana's!

After dinner we decided to head of to Downtown Disney for some shopping and that's Day 3!

Next up, Day 4 - Typhoon Lagoon, Carolyn Allen's and movies.

This is where your Planning session takes place and also your Site visit if you decide to do one. I actually thought all of the Wedding planners, coordinators, worked here in this location, but their offices are actually in Celebration. I was so surprised by how small Francks really is.

Day 4: Typhoon Lagoon, Carolyn Allen's, and movies

Since I had orginally thought that I scheduled the engagement shoot and Ana for my hair & make-up trial, we didn't have anything planned for this day. So we decided to go to Typhoon Lagoon. Unfortunately I must be very bad at trip reports because I have no pictures:confused3

So onto Carolyn Allen's...

I had mapquested directions to Carolyn Allen's and it was really easy to find. We were basically the only ones in the store. Two girls came in later to get some suits altered but mostly we had Sue & Keith's undivided attention which was nice.

Here's my goofing off with a hat Keith said I should wear.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8260118.jpg

Matt was able to try on some tuxes and I talked to Sue about gown steaming. I am planning to ship my gown but now I'm starting to get really nervous about it. So we'll see. DF's mom is planning to drive down so I might ask her to take it down with her, or try to take it on the plane.

If I ship my dress, I would also like to ship my bridesmaids dresses, flower girls, & moms' dresses. Sue was very nice and answered all my questions. Keith let Matt try on an Ivory tux, which I said will clashed with my white dress, but we ending up choosing this one for the groom and groomsmen

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/P8260119-1.jpg

However, my father doesn't like the tan and wants to wear a different color:confused: So now I don't know what to do, I really like the midnight blue color on their website. Keith said the Fathers should wear brown, but It's a striped brown tux and I don't think it goes together. So this is something I'm really confused about:confused3

Keith & Sue were awesome! However, when I got home their email person bascially said the prices and estimates I were given weren't really the prices being used for 2009. But Keith was awesome and straightened everything out for me. We just don't feel like we made a final decision now on the tuxes.

After Carolyn Allen's we decided to head home. We ended up going to see the Dark Knight which really bugged me. Now, let me explain. I thought the Dark Knight was a really good movie, but I can see a Movie anytime I want to in Philly, but I can't just skip over to Disneyquest or to see Fatasmic any old time I feel like it! So I went to the movie because the rest of the group wanted to and kept my frustrations inside. But it was the first time I went to the AMC at Pleasure Island.

Next up, Day 5 at Epcot, & Day 6 at MK!

:cool1: Congrats on selecting Living Seas for your reception; our guests really loved it!

I'm glad you found a videographer you feel most comfortable with for your wedding. Its important to find the best pick for you and your DF. We used Stan, but of course no videographer is a perfect fit for every couple :thumbsup2

O'hanas is such a great restaurant; I think they did away with the potatoes when they started removing trans fats from all the menus on property.

Don't worry about shipping your dress; it was one of the best choices I made. Carolyn Allen's did a great job and that was one less thing to worry about when we were traveling :goodvibes

Ok, so I am definitely behind in letting you all know about my wedding planning! Sorry for being MIA again. Life gets in the way too much!

The good news is I have several updates for you all! My save-the-dates, wedding website, and engagement pics which I never posted before. Also, I've been on an reorganizing kick since the new year, and it looks like my photos on my PJ don't work anymore since I reorganized my albums on Photobucket:crazy2: I was so angry when I realized it!!!! Now I know what I'll be doing all weekend!!!

Well, since I'm really late in recapping my site visit trip, I'll cut it short to the most important day - the engagement shoot with Randy.

Friday, Day 6 As most of you know, I didn't like my pics at first. I think it was that I had really high expectations of Randy and I just didn't think they were meet. However after a few months, I now really like my Photos. And I still love Randy! I still wouldn't trade him, but I think it was great that we did this shoot because I think our wedding pictures will turn out so much better.

This was also the day for my hair & makeup trial with Ana & Lily from Beaute Speciale, LOVE HER! Both was so awesome about rescheduling my appt. I love my hair and Lily did a great job with my makeup. I originally said I wanted to have a 'smokey look' and when I didn't like it Lily redid it for me!

Here I posted my favorite photos - this will take a few posts so stay tuned! My update continues after the photos.

More updates! In November, I sent out our DIY Save-the Dates. Then about 2 weeks later, Disney sent out the new Cinderella themed save-the dates. I was really annoyed because I thought my save-the-dates that I made were not take so long to make, but anyway, they are out and I've officially started to get the word out about our wedding! Now here's my small rant... I don't like the new Save-the-dates because you have no idea how many people have asked me questions about hotel stay, all because Disney doesn't lay it out anymore on the save-the date. Don't get me wrong, I love the new look, I just wish they kept the same information on it instead of replacing it with a phone number & website!

Here's the Save the date magnets I made. I wish I printed the magnet on Glossy paper now. My Inspiration is from Mermaid_Ariel's save the dates. I tried to book her designer but she was full already.

Also, I am 99% finished our Wedding Website! I'm using Wedding Window, but I purchased my own domain name. I signed up when I say Camara's awesome site! Please, please visit it and let me know what you think! I am basically doing the finishing touches on it now, proofreading, fixing font, etc. I would really like to add more to the Individual Park pages and also finish Downtown Disney as well. But I wanted something for our guests to feel like they should come back and visit it.

I'm going to send out the E-save-the-dates that Wedding Window has and change it to 'Announcing our Website'.

www.matthewandjaclyn.com

Also, we aren't having the turnout for the wedding as we thought we would. We invited 56 people to the wedding (including children) but only our immediate family and a few friends will probably be joining us. Alot of people say they just don't have the money in this economy and we have 2 people who are pregnant and due just before the wedding and then my cousin decided to have his wedding this year a month before ours. So we haven't gotten any official no's, but we are pretty sure we won't have the turnout that we thought we would have:sad:

Also, DF's groomsmen are giving us big problems - I'll elaborate more on that later.

Another update - Our Planning session is scheduled for March 6 for 1pm and our Menu Tasting is at 11am. DF, Me, and my parents will be going from March 5-8 and staying at Pop Century. It's very possible we actually might go to a Spring Training game to see the Phillies in Clearwater. It's been a dream of my Father's to go and see a Spring Training game and since he'll be so close to it, I really can't tell him no even though I'll be in Disney! I think it's because I know I'll actually be in Disney twice this year! YAY!

One more update-we are going bridesmaid dress shopping next Saturday with my Mom and sis/MOH and on Feb 15 with all the bridesmaids and Mom. My sister said she wants to go first with me and my mom so she can get in all her opinions first!:rolleyes2 I'm letting them pick their own dresses as long as it's an aqua/teal color. I'm going more alongthe lines of Aqua. I'll post pics afterwards.

My mom and I will be booking our rooms soon for the Wedding and our plane tickets!!!!!:hyper: I can't believe it's finally getting close! We may be doing it this Sunday because my Mother has been bugging me to get it done for awhile.

Ok, now I need everyone's help! I'm gearing up for my PS and I coordinated my massive Target Wedding Binder with all of my information filled out and my decor and cakes pic in there as well! I need your help with the Menu! Any suggestions on what we should try would be very much appreciated!

I hope you all liked this latest update. Now that I'm in the thick of wedding planning, I'll try to post more often!:wave2:

I looked at your pictures the other day and never got to say how beautiful they turned out! We got shots in some of the same areas for our e-pics with Randy so they brought back lots of great memories. I especially like the date in the sand, DH wrote our intials in the sand and I love that shot!

Don't worry about how many guests you end up with in the end, the people that are closest to you will be there for you and you'll have a beautiful wedding no matter what :goodvibes

I love your STD cards that you made for your guests. Do you have a shot of what the new Disney ones look like?

Your web site is looking great, you have tons of wonderful info on there for your guests.

:cool1: I didn't realize that you're a LS bride too, its such a wonderful location.

You should definitely go to a spring training game with your date. DH loves spring training and he took a group of his groomsmen there to see the Detroit Tigers play in Lakeland while I was having my bridal tea.

I stole it from someone's planning journal I hope you don't mind:3dglasses

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/CakeCoralAndShells-LightDecoration.jpg

The server I'm planning to get from DFTW

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/CakeKnifeandServerset.jpg

I really want some sort aqua as my wedding color I actually have a page from a bridal magazine of a program with ribbons that's my inspiration. I would like to use a range of blues and greens as my colors.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/P2250039.jpg

Here's is the garter and flower basket I really, really want. I am really thinking of buying them now but I'm not even close to getting bridesmaid dresses so I'm not sure what color I'll purchase but this is the color I want.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/seasidealluregarter.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/seasideallurebasket.jpg

I really like these two styles of dress but not sold on them. I really want an off the shoulder type sleeve. ut I like the bodice and pick-up skirt. This may change once I try on dresses! I also am in love with the third..it's not anything like my picture in my head but I Love it... But I really want a big skirt since I never wore one for my proms.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/dresses/WeddingDress-mermaid.jpg

But it's probably like $3000 or something

more to come anything day.. gotta go take a shower:dance3:

LOVE THE LS!!! We did end up going to a Spring training game in Clearwater - I'm going to write all about when I finally write a PJ update!

Your website is amazing. There is so much detail and information. What program did you say you used to make it?

Thanks! Weddingwindow - I know that it's expensive but I really wanted a nice website since I wanted to put out a ton of information and doing so many newsletters just would have been too much - I still plan on doing at least 1 or 2 but I have to say that the money I spent (88 +15 for unique website name) was definitely well worth it!

The third dress is a maggie Sottero, it's part of her destination line. I never found it anywhere so I wasn't able to really try it on or even consider it for my dress. I stopped looking at the slip mermaid type once I realized I didn't like how it constricted my legs

So I wrote this first update on Feb 16th, so it's kind of past tense. I've just been sooooooo busy with wedding planning that I haven't had the time to actually tell you all about it! I have so much to tell you about, seriously a TON!!! So I'll try my best to remember it all! So many things booked, so many things purchased, really a ton...

I really tried to get a PJ update in before we headed to the PS but it was really hectic. I stress too much and the days leading up to the PS was just soooo stressful! I felt like I had to prepare so much! But in the end it was good because my parents said they were proud at how organized I was! And I think Meri & Elizabeth were really happy too. If only I could have stuck to the budget numbers I had in my head!!! My mom kept wanting to add little things so I think it exploded my budget! Well now I have alot of trimming to do!

On to the PJ!

2/7/09 - Matron of Honor Dress Shopping - My sister & I went out Bridesmaids shopping on 2/7 and I got to try on *my* actual wedding dress because it came in!!! Of course, I completely forgot my camera AGAIN so I wasn't able to take pics. But my sister found her dress. My sis isn't a stand out of the crowd kinda person. I said from the beginning that I wanted my bridesmaids to really feel comfortable in the dresses and that they could pick out their own dresses that suited them best, just as long as I got my colors. Well my sis starts trying to talk me into the dress she wanted and have everyone wear it, LOL. She was funny once she got caught and I called her out on it. She's shy and doesn't want to feel like she's standing out. She kinda of got her way, you'll see her dress later I'll post pics further on that we took when we all went out.

Bridesmaids dresses - so we went out to Aimee Michelle Bridal & David's Bridal to shop for dresses on 2/14. I was kinda nervous beforehand because I had realized I had cut time short and I really needed to have the color confirmed for my PS so I'm really happy we did find them & the dresses are all ordered and paid for! I wanted to start shopping earlier, but it all worked out in the end.

First, I got to try on my dress for my bridesmaids & Mom and this time I remembered the Camera!

I've got some updates for you all!

Turns out, my mom noticed my Tiara is missing two crystals, I was SOOOO Mad! They said they would return it and order me a new one, so now I have to make sure the new one isn't broken either.

Veil - we ordered this one, another task to check off

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/DressFittingsforwedding013.jpg

And here's my shoes, though now they are yellowing...More on the shoe dilemma later...
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/dresses/P2120013.jpg

Now we tried on a few dresses at the AimeeMichelle Bridal, but I had already knew we would be better going to David's because the bridal shop really didn't get the whole concept I was going for with individual dresses. The Salesperson was superconfused and of couse SIL

Now at David's we decided to go to the one in Maple Shade - no dress tax in NJ!! And It's much nicer than the Philly one I have to say.

My mom went with us, I had wanted her to shop for dresses too because FMIL keeps asking when she can shop for her dress and it's the whole tradition thing that MOB gets first pick. But basically my mom took over the dressing room! And my attention with my camera! But she did find a really nice dress that looks amazing on her... but it kinda clashes with the Pool bridesmaids dresses. But I kinda don't really care that much. Her dress looks amazing on her and really how many pics are there going to me with Mom & BMs? Unfortunately, my Mom didn't get this dress and I absolutely don't like the dress she actually bought... More on that later.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/DressFittingsforwedding034.jpg

Talking about Mom's so FSIL is one of my bridesmaids, she went to her Mom's (my FMIL) house afterwards and showed her a swatch and DF's mom said that's the color she wanted to wear! Apparently, she never heard me mention it like the 5 million time I told her I picked it for BM's.

After I shopped with MOH, I browsed David's and kinda picked out a few dresses for each individual BM. I have to say, I know my girls really well! They all picked out a dress I had thought they would! LOL! Here's the pic of everyone together

Here's the color Pool that the dresses will be in

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/DressFittingsforwedding055.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/DressFittingsforwedding054.jpg

We realized once we all decided we were done and picked the dresses - everyone's dresses has a sash detail and a gathering type in the chest so they kinda all coordinate together. Gail was our salesperson, she was pretty good. My only complaint was at the end my Mom was annoying the hell out of me, because she wanted my attention to take pics of her dress and I was torn between people and I was trying to figure out what sizes everyone was ordering and when the dresses would be in! I had to ask her like 5 times because she kept pushing me sister to make an alteration appt for my niece's dress. Seriously, was it that important we do that right away???

Other updates: We put an E-pic in the local newspapers. I had planned to put an announcement back when we got engaged and my mom told me she was doing it, well I think she forgot! So I decided I would kinda do a 'we set our date announcement' I was thinking of putting it in the Philly Inquirer, but I think I'll do a wedding pic after we get married instead because you have to pay for announcements in the Inquirer.

Here's a pic of the Newspaper

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/DressFittingsforwedding070.jpg

Hairstyle - I'm pretty sure that I'm going with this. I'm going to have a trial with my hairdresser in Philly and take pics for Ana. I had Ana do my hair & make-up for my Epics (love her!) so I like her work, but I really don't know how to place the tiara and veil and how the top part would all work, so I'm going to try it first so I'm more comfortable.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/Celebrity_2592.jpg

Also, I purchased a couple items off of the knot.com: Personalized Napkins, Just Married Flip-flops, Aqua bubbles, & a Ring Bearer camera because little Eric loves to take pics, and I think it would be really cute to kind of get his perspective of the day, lol! I'll post pics later on all of my purchase items...

I also ordered a ton of items off of vitsaprint.com. It told me I got $87 worth of merchandise for free when I ordered. Only paid $26 for shopping and ordered ten items all to be used for the wedding. I'll post pics when I get them. It will be easier to explain more when I have the pics of the items

Inspiration pics

I've said multiple times I want to do a Little Mermaid theme. Well I really don't want to do it with character pics on anything, like Ariel & Eric on stationary & stuff. The only two areas I've decided to allow them is on the Mint-to-be packets I already purchased. Here's a pic
And also the WDCC piece I purchase when I first got engaged.

WDCC, Two Worlds, One Heart

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/wdcc-ariel-eric-two-worlds-one-hear.jpg

I had originally purchase this as my cake topper. I fell in Love with it immediately and got a deal on ebay. The Statue & stand & shipping all for $287. Well, once I got it I realized the piece was HUGE! It definitely isn't going to make the cake, so I'll do a White Castle Topper with this next to it.

I found this site www.mylittlemermaid.com and they have a ton of great screenshots of the movie. I was able to really see some details that I couldn't really catch watching it on video.

So the theme explanation. I've already said that I don't really want the characters to be the focus, but instead the world & the fairytale be the focus. I'm thinking that it might be cool to kinda incorporate some items from Ariel's Grotto into my reception. I've noticed that many people have different statues as decor at their reception. I've seen Vanessa had a Seahorse & Seashell by her food & someone else had cupid outside of Whitehall. I'm not sure if they are done by request & paid for, or if Disney just puts them out.

Here's what I'm thinking - having the candelabra with the 'dinglehopper' (fork), knife, spoon by the food, buying different wine openers as the 'gadgets & gismos' to go near the bar area.

Also maybe a treasure chest and a wind up dancing figurine?

So what do you think about this? Cheesy? do you think people would get it? Believe me, I'm pretty sure they are all aware of the theme by now, lol!

Any other ideas for my Theme? I'm doing a lot of Little Mermaid instrumental music at the Ceremony. I'm considering buying the bridesmaid's a piece of starfish jewelry each. Bubbles for the exit. Sand Ceremony

Here's the pics I have ready for the Planning Session

Ceremony Decor: I really like Lurkyloo's simplicity but love how the colors pop! I'm spring for the upgraded chair covers to induce some more color

I'd like to use the same Banana leaves with some orchid stems added I think

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/th0526_1253J.jpg

Same color rose petals but in this pattern on the beach so the sand kinda still comes though

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/parasols__guests.jpg

And the chair covers with sashes in Aqua & light green.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Wedding%20Planning/0504_1209J.jpg

And that's it for Ceremony

Personal Decor
I've purchased Starfish Bouquet jewels for my Bouquet & I'm shopping for a starfish or seahorse pin for the wrap. I also may incorporate seashells somehow to match the Boutonniere's. Here's a similar pic of my bouquet - I have to scan in the other one - this without the cala lillies, though I may change that. Same color though.

plus my 'Human Stuff' odds and ends

Also, I'm considering the Landau Coach more of CC's coach. It's actually used in TLM.

Ok, so here's an update for you all! I loaded the pics from the PS as maybe I can write up a TR when I'm at work tomorrow, during lunch or something. And then I have another update after that with all the stuff I've bought in the last two months!!!

One last update - We booked our at-home reception! We are having it on Oct. 24th in Philly at Fran Lee's catering. And get this, we are doing a Halloween theme! Totally going for it the whole way, telling everyone to go ahead with costumes and everything. And we are definitely having a candy bar! I'll probably go cheapo with it and not do it like color theme. I found the vases at save-on-crafts website and then I'm buying candy from orientaltrading.

Hope you guys enjoy! Feel free to share a ton of opinions!!!

WE ARE UNDER % MONTHS!!! YIPEE! It's everything I've planned to do and considered doing and thought about doing for the last 2 years, WELL, I CAN FINALLY START DOING IT! YAY!!!

Since I'm at work and I'm trying to cut down on spending money (I've been major shopping since Summer stuff starting coming out!!!) I plan on staying in for lunch and it seems like a great time to do my PS Report!:cloud9:

I realized that I didn't do very well in the moment for a PS Report, I didn't take many pictures of action things, like on the plane, checking in, to do a really good PS Report - but the good thing is now I know to do that for the Wedding TR!

Wednesday, March 4 - The Day before we leave

So Thursday was absolutely crazy! Everybody wanted to talk to me about the wedding and what we were going to do in Disney, I had to pack, and most importantly I had to get my binder together!!! Some things I really didn't need to do because Meri didn't really need them like Vendor List, and other lists I made. But I was pretty proud of myself because Meri & Elizabeth & my Parents too all seem pretty pleased that I truly had thought about what I wanted for each aspect of the wedding and had pictures or an example to show for everything. My Mom was stressing me out because before the trip she's like "well just don't be really indecisive during the PS, because then you are a pain when you do that" Yea, Thanks MOM! So she actually seem pretty shocked that I had my stuff together. I think she tends to forget I'm an adult now and that the things I did as a kid, I do longer do, LOL:rolleyes:

During the day, I ran around last minute shopping and getting Transfers to make T-shirts. Unforunately, I ran out of time:guilty:

I checked us in for our flight at 11:25am - Our flight was 10:55am the next day so a little less then the 24 mark - Yeah, can you believe that we JUST MADE IT into Group A.

Matt didn't get home till almost 10pm the night before and our flight was at 10:55am the next day. So both of us stayed up packing all night and cleaning our house. It's our biggest pet peeve to come home to a dirty house after vacation. So we were both up till at least 3am! I'm glad I'm taking at least 1-2days off before the wedding so I can get this all done for that trip!

Thursday, March 5 - Departing Philly to Orlando

We had to be at my parents house by 8:00am because we had a driver picking us up at 8:30am. We were actually on time! But for anyone who lives in PA or NJ - DO NOT TAKE VICTORY LIMO! They have the dirtiest town cars and sloppy drivers. I'm not being snotty. The driver didn't even know 4 of us were going and then had to clean out all of his dunkin donuts trach from the front seat - then Matt realizes the driver is Hung Over & Afraid that he's going to crash! The guy goes completely the wrong way, and then says he needs to fill the tires with air!!!!!!!!! OMG! DIASASTER!

So finally we make it to the airport alive and we were in the A Group to Board - Matt & I decided we weren't taking Southwest for the wedding - we hated the whole Cattle Call Boarding & already purchased our flights on Airtran.

The Pilot was a SPEED FLIER! We made to Orlando almost 45 minutes early! I though good because we have to go to Carolyn Allen's and now we'll have time for the pool.

So we pick out the Rental Car and we had a funny moment. The Enterprise Sales Guy sees my Dad sitting in a car totally cramped up because my Dad is 6'5. So Sales Guy (who's about 6' mind you) comes over and says "You might be so comfortable in a larger vehicle, us tall guys really like..." And then he trails off because as he's saying this my Dad starts standing up to full height and Sales guy realizes my Dad is about 2 heads bigger then him! :rotfl:

<a href="http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/?action=view&current=P3050002.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050002.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

So we head to Carolyn Allen's. My mom asked that we could go there (and it mostly was a waste of time) because she wanted Keith to see how big my father was. Keith was absolutely Hsyterical, like Always:rolleyes: I walk in and say "We have an appt for tuxes" And he looks at me staright face for like 5 minutes and says, "Well you have a problem then because this is a pet store" It was so funny I didn't even know how to respond, but it made my parents really like him. So my Dad gets to see the Khaki tux we picked for the guys.

When we told my Dad that we were getting Khaki Tux, he didn't like it. I really didn't have very strong feelings about his tux so I told him to pick out whatever makes you comfortable. He's deciding between the Khaki, Navy, & the Brown Suit. Keith said he doesn't recommend the Navy suit because it doesn't lay very nice.... That's the suit I like best, but oh well. There are other things more important to me for this wedding.

So my dad still hasn't picked a tux and Keith said he will have no problem getting a tux in my Dad's size. The only productive thing is that because I had my Bridesmaids Dresses & I had a color swatch with me, I got to pick out the vests for the Groomsmen tuxes.

Just in case anyone is interested - there is actually a Nail Salon about three stores down from Carolyn Allen's

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050001.jpg

We go to drive over to POP and here is the first time we get lost on the trip, My Dad got lost alot driving! My mom (who doesn't have a license and went to Disney once in 2006) swears up & down she downs the way, I finally get so tired of hearing her that I tell my Dad to just listen to her. He's the thing with my mom, You have to just do it her way, she her she's wrong once she's down and then start from scratch and do it all over again to get her to stop, other wise - you'll have to hear her complain the entire time anyway. After my Mom sess she's actually wrong, I tell my dad to ask the Toll Attendant which way is Disney, turns out we were heading AWAY from Disney for like a half hour - Thanks MOM:sad2:

Finally we drive up to POP

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050007.jpg

And then we see DisneyMooners! I slightly stalked them, LOL

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050009.jpg

So we go to Check-in to the Resort, My first ever time I got to stay in a Disney Resort!!!! We stayed at Pop Century in the 60's Building, 2nd Floor. I highly recommend Pop Century - I think it will always hold a special place for me now as one of my favorite places to stay ever. I kinda wish I picked Pop Century over All Star Movies for my Room Block. I didn't know there was Disney Character Touches all over the Resort!

So when we check-in the CM says, so "You are here to plan your wedding?" And she gave us Just Engaged pins!!! I have to insert a picture here later. I actually was able to get a ton of pins for all of my Welcome Bags!!!

My Dad waiting on a bench - we have this running joke after watching the Disney Happiest Celebration on Earth Vacation Planning DVD, That my Dad is Dave, lol

We head down to the Food court and Matt & I get Shrimp Lo Mein and I completely forget the other dish - I thought the food Court was pretty good, we ate breakfast here everyday too. We also purchased a refillable mug to share.

To Be Continued: Thursday night & Friday, March 6 - the Planning Session! I got lots of pics for the next update!

I managed to read through most of your PJ and can't wait to read more because it sounds like a lot of your ideas are similar to what I want. I am planning to get married on the wedding pavilion beach too and am a huge Little Mermaid fan. DF, on the other hand, is not a LM an so I plan on going with a beach theme and keeping the LM touches subtle. I laughed when I read that you originally ordered that statue as a cake topper...I know exactly which one it is and it is so pretty but it is huge! I have a perfect sized statue of Ariel and Eric sitting on my computer desk that I had always planned on using. It looks a little like a small version of a Lenox statue of Ariel and Eric in wedding attire but it is actually a Christmas ornament I bought in Downtown Disney a few years back and decided was too pretty to hang on the tree. Once I finally got engaged I took a closer look at it and because it is a Christmas ornament Ariel has this silver ring sticking out of her belly that can't be easily removed! Oh well, I will have to use it as decor and find something else to use for the cake topper. Another thing I think I might do is use a Little Mermaid print and have people sign the mat as my guest book (stole that idea from someone on here's pictures!). There is a print of Ariel the mermaid with some wedding attire they are selling in the Parks now and another one with a stained glass type background that might work. Looking forward to reading more of your PJ and trip report!

Yeah, I was pretty shocked that Matt let me go with the Little Mermaid theme! But he's getting really into it, it's hysterical! And I bought that print you are referring to! I told my mom it would make sure a cute Bridal Shower invite, lol! What's the on with the stained glass backgroun, ohhh I'm going to go searching for it now!

So we continue on to Thursday night, March 5 First day in Disney

So I wanted to finish out the day because I wanted to post all these pics I have from Pop Century. Once we ate Dinner at the food court, we walked back to our rooms and I wanted to change - I was still wearing long sleeves & sweatpants I wore on the plane. However, I should have brought more long sleeves. I never expected Florida to be so cold!!! There was a snowstorm the day before we left Philly and I was ready for some heat! I though I could be wearing tank tops.

Matt ends up falling asleep in like 10 minutes. I never meet anyone who can fall asleep so fast, he can pretty much sleep anywhere and be out in like a second - it makes me so jealous!

Everyone was just super tired and I knew the parks were kinda out. My mom & dad suggested we go for a walk around the resort.

Here's some pics in no particular order:

When we came back, Matt was awake and we walked down to the store. I got the regular cheesecake and he got the tie-dye cheesecake. I'm not a big fan of Cheesecake but it was soooo good!!!

Friday, March 6 The Menu Tasting & Planning Session Day!

So the night before I scheduled a wake-up call for 8:04 since our menu tasting was at 11:00am. I did this everyday of our trip. I got Stitch & Mickey every morning. I had thought there was different characters for every day so I did different times 8am, 8:02, 8:04 but Stitch still screamed at me to WAKE UP!! Every morning, lol

I was super excited, but nervous too. We went down and got breakfast at the food court. Me & Matt split the chocolate chip pancake platter & an extra side of bacon. I can only really eat one pancake and I knew they came with at least four. He got most of the bacon and I got the sausage and a slice of bacon. I'm a lite eater, but I eat alot! I eat alot of small portions through the day so if I eat too much at once I start to feel sick most of the time. Sometimes I can pig out and eat like 4 tacos and a mexi-melt and nachos from taco bell... And how did I get on this tangent???

Back to PS, after breakfast we came back to get ready. I had wanted to wear a Bride T-shirt but all of the Bride shirts I bought are tanks (to wear for our August Wedding) and it was slightly chilly. I never found the time to make a T-shirt with Iron-on's. I also didn't want to seem too dress down either since it's kind of like a business thing. So I wore Khaki capris and a aqua blue shirt to get me in my color mood!

My very full Wedding Binder - I bought so many binders that I tried to create page dividers but always felt it wasn't organized enough and was missing information that I had stored electronically so I finally sprung for it and paid for an actual Wedding Binder at Target

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3060129.jpg

Our Menu tasting was scheduled for 11am and I realized about 9:30a I didn't where we had to go backstage for Epcot! I have no idea why, but I thought we had to head directly there. I take about a hour to get ready (yeah, I'm definitely a girl, lol) so before I jumped in the shower, I called for the office and spoke with one of the assistants and said my Menu Tasting is at 11:00a and where should we be going at Epcot? She told me we were supposed to meet Meri at Franc's at 10:30a! Crap, I thought I was actually on-time I checked my paper work and it definitely said 11:00am so I had no idea why it was changed. So we rush to get ready and rush to get there. At 10:35, I call the office again and said to tell Meri I'm almost there another 5 minutes and I'm so sorry for being late!. Here, the assistant was wrong and I was right about the time. But it was good because we got to walk around for a few minutes.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050045.jpg

I really like this pic for some reason...
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050046.jpg

My Ceremony Location! My Mom finally realized WE ARE ACTUALLY ON THE BEACH AND THERE WILL BE SAND!

The Obligatory Planning Session Shot
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3060091.jpg

So we go in and we get to meet Meri. I just walked right up and hugged her, lol! I was just so excited my glasses fell right off my head. I was happy I was assigned a bubbly Planner. I knew right away I was going to like her!

So Meri drives us over to Epcot and my Parents get to see Epcot backstage for the first time, Me & Matt for the second (we went to the Living Seas at our Site Visit), I forget what we discussed in the car, but we talked the entire time driving over.

We walk in to Epcot's kitchens and it was so awesome! We literally got to sit and watch the cooking and even had a waiter attend to us. I wish I could remember the Waiter's name, he was sooo sweet. Everyone was really nice.

So we sit and I knew Meri was going to ask about napkin folds so I just pointed out the fan style because I think it looks like a seashell. Well maybe she wasn't going to but I read in other people's PS reports that they had to make decisions during the PS so I was prepared with answers so I could enjoy the food and not be indecisive.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050049.jpg

We were really only asked to make decisions pertaining to the food during the Menu Tasting. I don't remember being asked about any other Wedding stuff. I know we were asked to pick out the waiters attire. Our waiter, god I wish I remembered his name!, was wearing the gold vest outfit with black pants. Meri suggested we have the White jacket outfit with black pants, kinda cruise boat attire. I was thinking about it when Matt & my Mom said they liked what he was wearing. I actually decided I liked the whole Cruise Boat look for Living Seas and changed it later when we got home.

I asked Meri if she was going to eat with us. I was going to ask her to because I felt weird eating all this good food and her not getting any. But then my professional side kicked in and thought she does this at least once a week, she's probably doesn't want to. I remembering planning events and some things that a client loved so much, I cared less about because I did it all the time. I didn't push it in case there was a policy about planners eating. I didn't want to be rude so I tried not to think about that we were eating in front of someone and not sharing!

We had water & ice tea set out for us and our water offered us some Perrigreeno (I can't speel so I sounded it out instead!) and we all choose that

We didn't really pick many Appetizers to try because I wanted to kinda skimp on the cocktail hour and had planned to do the Anitpasto Platter. I picked to try

-Florida Rock Shrimp, Crab, Hearts of Palm Fresh Herbs, Lemon, Cilantro & Scallops
-Pan Seared Crab Cake with Lemon Dill Sauce

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050050.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050051.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050052.jpg

I forgot to take a pic when they brought it out, so that's the best I have.

The Seafood was chilled but it was soooo good! I didn't expect the Scallops to be cold & never had scallops cold but they were delicious and huge. The Hearts of Palm was really good and I didn't expect to like that at all. It also came with a Seaweed Salad that was also very good. They explained that they didn't have any Rock Shrimp so they used Shrimp Cocktail instead But I think it worked out better. This was a menu item that intrigued me because I wasn't really sure what it could be. When I was picking items for the Tasting, Meri explain that it's individual pieces, but some chef's take creative liberties and make like a salad out of it. She said she can mark it how we would like it served to prevent any ruining of perfectly good seafood!

The crab cakes were very good too, they were tiny but they were cocktail portions so it was fine. The lemon dill sauce is amazing!

Both items made it on the Menu! LOL, we made Seafood a priority because it's always what we order when we go out to eat. We will serve both items as part of our Buffet.

Next were the actual Entree items:

-New York Strip Steak with Merlot & Black Pepper Reduction, Balsamic Crimini Mushrooms, & Roasted Shallots

-Roasted Chicken with Applewood Bacon, Carmelized Shallots, Apple & Carbenet Reduction

-Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast with Mushroom Cream

-Island Spiced Mahi Mahi with Grilled Pineapple, Citrus, Vanilla Bean Beurre Blanc

-Two Pepper rubbed Beef Strip Loin wth Onion (I forgot to take a pic!)

-Mashed Potatoe Martini Bar

Going into the Tasting I expected to pick the Paremesan Chicken & the Mahi Mahi based on review from this board. We wanted beef but thought it would be too expensive on top of the shrimp so we were prepared to cut the beef option. Our family & friends aren't foodie's really and feel uncomfortable with fancy dishes so I didn't want to stay too much from Meat, Potatoes & Veggie's.

All the Meats on my plate at once, lol
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050061.jpg

The Martini Potatoes! Lisa, who was our cook, said that they didn't have the regular sized glasses and they gave us these mini ones instead. They were so cute! She said you can request the mini-ones and I'm really tempted to still! I didn't specify anything for the Potatoes and let the cooks and Meri pick them. Meri said she specifically requested the white potatoes instead of the purplish ones, I ended liking her decision!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050062.jpg

All the trimmings for the Potatoes - we'll be added brown sugar as well.
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3050060.jpg

Well I was surpised what I liked. I didn't like the Strip Loin. It was either a fatty cut or just plain- I didn't think it was anything special. It reminded me of roast beef. The Chicken with Applewood Bacon & Apple was very Southern and delicious. I had expected it to be Chicken with the bone, but it was Chicken breast. Really Good, I highly recommend it. Everyone else liked it too.

The New York Strip was amazing! The flavor was just wow! My mom kept raving about it and she's not even a steak eater. That was hands down a universal favorite for all four of us.

The Mahi Mahi was shocking for me because I was prepared to be in love. For some reason I didn't think the actually Mahi Mahi itself was that great. I liked the citrus flavors & the fruit with it, but it had this spice that seemed too much. We all guessed it was the jerk seasoning that was too much. I was on the fence about it but we when selected our finaly menu I decided to cut it. The Vanilla Sauce was good but it melting really quick and Lisa said that Buerra Blanc is too thick and recommened more of a sauce. It had more of a butter taste and I guess I had expected a sauce.

I realized that the Parmesan Chicken wasn't there and asked about it. Meri didn't have it in her notes and I thought I sent it to her. I still haven't checked my emails to see if it was actually on there, but the cooks were nice enough to whip us up one! I apologize profusely because I felt like a pain but they were really nice about. They cooked us up a big one and gave it to me, I cut it up and shared a piece with everyone.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j4/lilmermaid260/Planning%20Session/P3060063.jpg

So we got to choosing our Menu and when it came to the Mahi Mahi, I was having a hard time choosing what to do. We already had enough, plus 2 different seafood items already. My dad said if you need to thing this long about it-you shouldn't add it.

Here's our Menu:

Cocktail
-Anitpasto Display

Buffet
-Florida Rock Shrimp, Crab, Hearts of Palm Fresh Herbs, Lemon, Cilantro & Scallops
-Pan Seared Crab Cake with Lemon Dill Sauce
-New York Strip Steak with Merlot & Black Pepper Reduction, Balsamic Crimini Mushrooms, & Roasted Shallots
-Roasted Chicken with Applewood Bacon, Carmelized Shallots, Apple & Carbenet Reduction
-Mashed Potatoe Martini Bar
-Asparagus & Carrots

On our BEO the buffet is listed at $70 a person. I thought this wasn't too bad considering we have 2 meats, seafood, plus an action station. The Anitpasto Display is $14.25.

We are also doing a Call Brands Bar Package - I'll go into more detail about that when it's time for the BEO.

Next: Dessert!

I love the shots of you in your gown; the sparkles on it will look great with the sun hitting it. I also love the color of your bridesmaids dresses.

The shots from your tasting brought back a lot of memories. That was one of my favorite parts of the planning :thumbsup2 We got to do ours in Epcot too of course because of LSS.

Its funny when you mentioned the sea shells on our buffet I totally didn't remember them and just looked back at the pictures and you're right :goodvibes If you want shots of our buffet table just let me know. To be honest I didn't make any requests for our buffet decor at the wedding or DP. They even added a Figment to our evening dessert buffet to follow our theme there without any suggestions from me. I guess in all the planning I didn't even think to ask about that, so you're definitely ahead of me. :confused:That's a great idea to have them wear the white coats like on a cruise.

:sad1:Today I am so upset that I have to do this, but it's the safest thing to do for me & Matt. I have to stop my PJ due to the fact that Matt's sister & mother have gone to the point of stalking us throughout the internet. Negative Comments have been made on our wedding window website. They have been trying to find friends of mine who would let them log in to see my facebook. We have been getting a non-stop stream of phone calls. It's only a matter of time before they find me here. It's sick and it's very upsetting.

It really hurts me not to be able to share my wedding planning with you, but I don't want to provide so many details in such an easy place for them to look. From what I understand they don't know about this website and they have never seen my PJ but I'm not taking any chances. However, I don't want to make it any easier for them because it's very possible they may show up on the day of the wedding.

I'm not going to leave the boards completely (I just love it here too much!!!). I'll be posting randomly, asking questions to past brides and always available to answer questions for new brides. Maybe asking opinions and such, just like aways:goodvibes but having a PJ makes it too easy for them to find out too much information.

I promise to post a full recap of my wedding afterwards, with all the little details and pictures that I can possibly include. Once the wedding is over, I'll feel safer.

Thank you all for being there for me and for all your wonderful words of encouragement! I can't wait to share the details of everything in less than 4 months!!!

:sad2: I am sorry that your mother/sister in law-to-be are being so difficult. That really sucks.

My suggestion is to continue your PJ on a new thread, maybe under a new name without any specifc pictures of your faces and make the location some random city somewhere - so they don't know its you!!!! You just have to make sure to tell us somehow...

Just sent you a PM  I went through something similar (in regards to internet stalking by DH's family) so I know exactly how you feel. Glad to hear that you're not going to let that keep you from being around and we all look forward to reading about your wedding :bride:

 I've really enjoyed reading your PJ since your theme and location are the same as mine and am really sorry you have to end it. I hope you will continue posting on here under a new name without so many dates/specifics. There are a few past and current brides on here with a Little Mermaid theme so you probably wouldn't be too identifiable without naming your specific date and hometown. The reason I don't have a PJ on here is because I don't want any internet stalkers. It's not so much family members and wedding guests I'm worried about but DF works for Disney and I know of at least one bride on here who that became an issue for and she works for the same department as him. I decided that I'd rather be safe than sorry so I don't feel comfortable posting my exact date or any pictures of us in such a public forum. When I do start my PJ it will be on a more secure site even though I really enjoy reading and posting here. I hope you get the family issues straightened out and have a beautiful wedding. I can't wait to see the pics!

A Big HUGE Thank you for the nice words from everyone!!! And all of your suggestions. It means alot to me.

I decided to keep my user name but just stop my PJ. They still haven't found this site (as far as I know) and all of the details that have been posted they already know about. I'm just so sad that it couldn't be worked out. Sometimes you just have to give up when you realize you aren't getting through to the person about what the real problem is.

I'm not going to let them scare me from the boards, I'm just going to be more careful about what I post. The random posts don't have alot of information to them, it's just having all of my wedding details in such an easy place (such as a PJ) for them to find is what worries me.

And I definitely will post a Wedding TR afterwards. I really enjoyed sharing all my details with all of you and it makes me sad I can't tell you all more about it right now. Thanks to everyone for their support, you peeps are amazing!!!!

I absolutely love your STD! Where did you find the seashell graphic with Mickey's?! I may have to borrow it! =]
