Last year (07) ME and DW were at POP the last week of Sept. on the free DDP. Weather was really really hot this past year not much rain but we headed back to POP after lunch and did an afternoon swim each day. Parks seem to be light to get on rides early in the day during weekdays mostly walk-on. Sept. (06) also last week in Sept. and free DDP, weather not as hot, but hot, only 1 hour of rain for the whole week. Usually in Sept. you can count on rain but we lucked out for 2 years.
This year (08) guess what not only going first week in June but Last week in Sept. (POP/POP) already siged up for the free bounce back DDP in Sept..
Keep you eye to this web sight about April 9 to see if free DDp will be offered again like they offered the last 3 years. You cannot beat that deal.
With all the free dining make sure you book all your ADR's out about 180 days ith or without the free DDP .
I'll attach a good place to check out the menu at each restaurant along with prices.

We'll be there Sept. 21-27 staying at Carribean Beach, with free DDP. We went last year and got free dining too. We booked it in April and stayed at POP, when I called first thing in the AM it took forever to get through to a CM and she said that the value resorts were booking up quickly for free DDP. So I would call as soon as you hear they are offering it again, a friend of mine told me when she read it on a website, I don't remember which one she read it on maybe allears.net ?

I too am a newbee, and this is my first time posting. I only found out about this site yesterday, and I am so excited!! I have already found out the answers to so many questions I had.

I am from Melbourne, Australia, and will be at the House of Mouse from 31 August to 9 September. I can not wait! I am taking my Mum for her 60th Birthday. (It only seems fair - she took me to DLR for my 30th!) We are staying at ASM.

Can someone please help me? All this talk about free dining...As I have already booked and paid in full - how do I go about taking this up if it is offered? Do they annouce it on WDW website?

Would love to answer your question mousefan but I am totally lost about the free dining, I've read so many threads about it, I've confused myself. I think it sounds like a good deal (or equivalent too a discount on a room) but how exactly do you go about getting it? Do you call Disney directly? Do you need a reservation number and are you still eligible if you booked through a TA who in turn booked through a different company than Disney? See why I'm confused :laughing:

I am sticking to my package no matter what but it would be great too get the free dining, extra $$ for shopping :banana:

As far as free dining - I too have read a lot about it. It sounds like Disney usually announces it sometime in April. It doesn't sound like you have to have a special code for free dining. You just have to pay full price for the room. The value resorts usually book up quickly during free dining. I am already getting 40% off my room so I can't get free dining. But I am getting the DlxDDP anyway. From what I read free dining can be applied to reservations already made.

I think a lot of people plan on going in September and just count on free dining.

We're booked at Pop with free dining for Sept 19-28th :banana: We enjoyed Sept last year. Yes, it was hotter than heck, but it was so uncrowded that it was worth it! And free food is always a nice little bonus :woohoo:

See you there at POP. Yes it was hot but midday we spent a few hours in the bowlingbin pool. Going also in June with the kids now DS21 and DD19 to celebrate DS college graduation and off to the real world, and I do mean real his first job will be in NYC.

We'll be there 8/30-9/8 at CSR. We were able to take advantage of the bounceback promotion and we are trying to get a couple more days added but there is no availablity for us at CSR. I'm going to keep trying.
If free dining is offered later this year maybe I will get lucky. Who knows.

DH & I have been on the fence about going this September (have gone the past 2 years). After several conversations this week, we have decided that we ARE going to go this year. I am so excited about booking our trip. We are going to go Sept 15 - 20.

Normally the past couple of years we went with ppl or ppl have meet us there. This year we discussed it and it is going to be just me, dh and our dd. I am very excited about this.

CSR 9/18 thru 9/28. 10 year wedding anniversary trip -- we stayed at CSR on our honeymoon. We took advantage of that 40% off special rate that was sent out.
I heard if you book directly thru Disney, and new offers come out (like free dining for instance), Disney doesn't automatically adjust your ressie like some other places do (AAA, or dreamsunltd, mouseforless, etc). Does anyone know if that's true? :confused3 We have not sent our deposit yet -- but if that's true, I'd rather book through one of those other places to save the $$ on dining if it's offered.

I hate to say this but if I remember correctly you had to live in the US to get the free dining plan. They had a separate free dining with different days for UK residents. This year they had free dining for UK residents really early and it only included moderate and deluxe resorts but had more days than offered on bounceback. Anyone who was able to book from Canada or another country please chime in here if I am mistaken.

With free dining you can not get any other discounts and have to pay full price for your room and park tickets. You would just call disney reservations when you hear about the offer and tell them you want to book with free dining. For the person who used a travel agent who went through another company. I think you would have to ask you TA about that one. It concerns me that she used another company that might have put together the trip with pieces from different discount companies which would not work with free dining. You could always cancel and get your own reservations through Disney itself though if it is available in Canada.

Another thing I noticed that was mentioned was that you should hurry and get your dining reservations before you book. I have gone every year and never made my dining reservations till I booked in May for 05 free dining and April for 06 and 07 free dining. I have never had a problem getting exactly what I wanted for dining even at the hard to get into places like Le Cellier or Chef Mickey's. I didn't have problems changing reservations 4 months out either. It was around 2 months before our reservations that it was hard getting into some of the popular places or at popular times. Just sharing my experience so you don't worry about it if you chose to wait.

Thank you for your advice, definitely appreciated! I am going to talk to my TA and get a bit more info on who she booked with. We are at the POP from Sept. 6th and leaving early Sept. 14th. We are sticking to our dates and the DDP whether or not Free Dining is available. Although I wouldn't complain if I was eligible. :thumbsup2

I recieved the 20 percent off email in the mail but I am already getting the rate they are offering through my TA. I am going to try to start a list of the DISer's heading there in Sept and where they are staying.

Last year we stayed at POP with Free dining and it was the best WDW vacation we have ever had. I started planning early and got alot of Info from this site, had all my reservations made for the resturants, and had a great time! Sadly I did not book bounceback- to get the free dining again this year because i didnt think we would be back this year. BUT husband and I talked it over and I called disney, got a price I couldnt resist for the Contemporary with dining package included!

We did book bounce back on the last day of our stay and at POP again. But did this with DW only the last 2 years and this year DW wants a last trip (June see ticker) with DS21 and DD19, because DS will be off to the working world in NYC after graduating May. DW is thinking maybe we can't afford the Sept. Trip. But I'm trying to swing the 2 trips getting only 1 day pass and we have leftover hoppers from the late 90's and early 2000's to use up. So I'm hoping mayby a 2 trip year. Cause free dining how can you beat that?

The bounce back free dining was only offered starting like the first week of Sept 07 till mid Oct 07. They then offered a bounce back of a percent off the rooms. Unfortunatly there is no way to get the offer now but they may open it up to the general public sometime in April but only time will tell. Keep your fingers crossed and your wish might just come true.

This year they had free dining for UK residents really early and it only included moderate and deluxe resorts but had more days than offered on bounceback. Anyone who was able to book from Canada or another country please chime in here if I am mistaken.

With free dining you can not get any other discounts and have to pay full price for your room and park tickets. You would just call disney reservations when you hear about the offer and tell them you want to book with free dining. For the person who used a travel agent who went through another company. I think you would have to ask you TA about that one. It concerns me that she used another company that might have put together the trip with pieces from different discount companies which would not work with free dining. You could always cancel and get your own reservations through Disney itself though if it is available in Canada.

Another thing I noticed that was mentioned was that you should hurry and get your dining reservations before you book. I have gone every year and never made my dining reservations till I booked in May for 05 free dining and April for 06 and 07 free dining. I have never had a problem getting exactly what I wanted for dining even at the hard to get into places like Le Cellier or Chef Mickey's. I didn't have problems changing reservations 4 months out either. It was around 2 months before our reservations that it was hard getting into some of the popular places or at popular times. Just sharing my experience so you don't worry about it if you chose to wait.

We will also be at POP Aug 30-Sept 6. I so wish we could add on a few more days but I'm in school and will already be missing the first week! Prof's will just have to understand...that semester Disney comes first!:rolleyes1 I was also wondering about ADR's and when I should start with that. We don't have an itinerary yet and I really didn't want to start trying to figure all of that out until after this semester is over so that makes me feel better. I also wanted to wait until we find out about the free dining. popcorn:: Hoping for it but if for some reason it's not offered I think we may just skip it. Not sure yet, DS will be 4 when we go and won't eat anything but PB sandwiches, Eggo waffles, cheese...must be deli cheese, and a few other foods. He's really, really picky! I'm not sure yet which would be more cost effective. I figured I'll wait until April and see if it's offered and then start pricing the restaurants we really want to go to if it's not. Here's hoping it is so it won't even be an issue!:shamrock:

I have never been in Sept., but i am trying to get a trip in this year and am considering late Sept. What is the weather like? How worried should I be about hurricaines? How are the crowd levels in the last 2 weeks of the month? And lastly if I were to book thru AAA could I apply free dining if it came out?

we were in Disney first week of September, last year. We absolutely loved it.
The weather was great and the lines not so bad. There seemed to be a lot of people at the parks, we we never waited for more than 15 minutes for a ride, so I thought that was pretty good.
The only time it rain was at night for about an hour, which wasn't bad at all.
Not sure about the free dining.....check with the travel agent. I love the free dining, totally worth it.

Hi all! DF will be my DH and we'll be Disneymooning:love: !!! That said, we haven't booked a thing because we don't know how much money we'll have (we just moved across country and I had to leave my job in order to do so, and at some point I'll try to find another job...). We're thinking Sept 2 - 12 (or 13). We'd love Contemporary towers.... We may do CBR, depending on $. Or, we may rent DVC for BCV or BWV (epcot's our favorite park:lovestruc ). DF loves AKL but we both agree that it is just too far from everything to be there for 10+ days. We're also buying APs so maybe we'll see about an AP discount somewhere. We're trying to decide between DxDDP and getting a DDE card - we're leaning towards DDE (uhhh mainly for the alcohol discount).... I keep telling him to call and see if we have a code but he refuses! Can't wait!!!

We are going in Sept too. I am still unsure of dates. Just waiting hear back from DH's company to finalize dates. I am very eager to start planning. We are hoping to stay at the POP this time around. We have stayed at ASM & CB both times in September. I opting to go back to Value, just because we don't really spend anytime at the hotel and would rather spend the extra money on souvenirs. I am also hoping for Free Dining, both times we have gone it has been with Free Dining, but regardless we are going.

I just heard about free dining about a week ago and i was flippin out! Disney with free food. We stayed at POP in 2006 and we loved it. It was also the week of thanksgiving so it was a bit more crowded. Hoping for free dining or at least the ability to get a little money back for keeping deluxe. I made all my ADR's myself on the 10th, anal retentive that I am, I cannot trust (as much as I love my AAA agent) to make the reservations as fast as I could. As a matter of fact, I should collect some commission back for mine and the in-laws & cousins. Oh well, they're done, nothing else to do but count backwards.

After many trip to WDW we have found WL to be our favorite. Loved the Poly, but couldn't justify the rate difference. The crowds may be bigger due to the free dining in Sept. and high heat is always a possibility. Our biggest worry is hitting the love bugs head on. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the heads up! We'll be at POFQ 9/6-9/20 (thanks to bounceback free DDP) and 9/5 at POP (still hoping for an AP rate or something for that one night--silly, I know, but I hate to pay full price, even for one night). I finally went ahead and booked the POP night yesterday, because I was worried about all the rooms disappearing with the free DDP probably being announced today. I hope it all works out for those of you who were waiting and hoping!

We will be at Pop the 14th -19th. It is our first time at pop too. I am very excited, Pop seems to be the favorite hotel of alot of people.

We did Ohana for dinner 2years ago. The entertainment for the kids was great. They played games and danced. But we didn't like the food too much and decided not to go back.

We were there last September and love it. It did get hot, but we did not mind that.the weather was beautiful - rained twice at night and that was it. We were there mid September. The crowds were great - never waited for more than 15 minutes on a line. We loved it. Would not worry about any hurricanes. most of them happen in the beginning of the summer. we use to live in Miami.

Research and book flight. Did it! I'm with you, I did all my planning too, so now I am shopping for the trip! Lots to buy, crocs for kids, cute outfits for each park, goodies for the kiddos suprise bags, etc....that's how I will be getting through the next few months!

OH and order the maps from Disney, they are beautiful and fun!

We just found out yesterday that I am pregnant with our first little miracle!!! I will be 23 weeks pregnant when we go to WDW. We are still going in September 2008, but we may stay another day or two since we will need to take it slower and build in more rest breaks. I'm excited about that!!!
