I would like to phone wdw from the uk and buy a limited edition ornament and then have it sent to a room at the Grand Floridian. The ornament will be a present for my sil who is going to be staying at GF next week for her 50th birthday, and its all been a surprise!
Anyway, does anyone know whether i will be able to do this?
Thanks!

Hi Jeanette
My brother did this for me and pete when we got married. He had a wedding mickie mouse snowglobe waiting for us in our room the day we got back from our wedding. He said he phoned the hotel direct and asked there advice.I think he said as long as they have it in their shop they can do it.It was all gift wrapped with balloons on it.He paid over the phone by CCard.Good luck:thumbsup2 Any news on your next trip?

Thankyou so much Alyson! I will phone the GF and see if they can do the same for me!
Keep looking at flight prices and then uhmming and aaring as to whether to book and go away in Oct or Nov. One minute i want to go and then i don't! only because last year was such an expensive year for us and i want to get a bit more straight with the money before i book again!!

Oh! Jeanette, there are some places you can look (but I wouldn't order from them personally as the prices are very high! Direct from WDW should mean you pay the same price you would in WDW)
Try www.laughingplacestore.com
and there is another but I forget the name for the moment...

Hi Karen!
I just wanted to look at what I will be describing over the phone! I want to buy a limited edition disney piece, but it will be easier to describe it if I knew what make it was etc! I first saw it last November in dtd.

my mom has joined us a few times for her birthday (she's the only lucky one with a birthday in july when we're there)..
we take her for lunch and dinner on her birthday.
When i make the reservation i tell them it's her birthday, and again when i sign in at the podium.
Each restaurant has a different way of 'celebrating' but they all do something nice.

last time we stayed at the GF, the hotel gave us a beautiful present that would be nice to give for a birthday.
It was a box made out of chocolate with the GF painted on the top of the box. Sort of difficult to describe, but really lovely. Though it's not something you can 'keep', since it's chocolate. But i really enjoyed receiving it.
the box was about 5 inches by 5 inches by 2 inches deep. All chocolate. And the 'painting' on the cover was amazing.
i remember pricing it out of curiosity. I think it was $36.

Thanks for that! I along with my bil have been organising this surprise holiday for her since last June, she was told last saturday that she will be going to the GF for her 50th birthday-boy was she shocked!! she has always wanted to stay there and now she is- they leave this friday! she loves anything to do with snow white, so this is why i am desparate to find the lmited addition ornament that i saw last november in a dtd shop.
I have also booked the portrait session for her, she has bought a really beautiful dress to wear for this!

Not a WDW store but have you tried Disney Store (http://disneystore-shopping.disney.co.uk/ProdList.aspx?CatId=9&SCatId=995)?
This (http://www.wdccduckman.com/spgtt1.htm) page also has pictures and sculptors names for several Snow White figurines that might help.

AAAAgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh
I am getting so annoyed!!!
This is the figurine i want to buy and have it delivered to her Grand Floridian room for her birthday this coming saturday, but wdw have just told me that they don't do deliveries and so won't deliver it to the room. I asked if they could leave it at the desk so she can pick it up and they still said no.. I am so gutted now.:sad1:

ask to speak to concierge...
im amazed that no one can do that for you...
there are people that will do that kind of thing for you..
www.giftsofalifetime.com will do that im sure
or there are bound to be others.
Have you tried speaking to the shop in the GF themselves?
Or have you tried the dtd shop?
Dont give up Netty :) IM sure it will come through for you! :)

Sammie wdw haven't been helpful at all, which I'm quite surprised at! all i want to do is buy the ornament and have it delivered to the room, or even to the check in desk, but no they wont do it..:headache:
the lady i spoke to tried to contact dtd and then said the art gallery shop was closed  She was adament that nothing can be delivered at all to rooms only by disneyflorists. I'm getting fed up now with all of this.. I think I will give it another go later on when I've calmed down as I have been on and off the phone for the past hour or so.

What about getting it delivered here and give here an envelope with a picture of it inside - you could make a gift certificate sort of thing with the picture :goodvibes
That means she will be excited to see it when she gets home and wont have to carry it back home - not ideal but a solution!!
Wish you were my SIL Jeanette

What about contacting http://www.memoriesbybetsy.com they might be able to buy the ornament for you and deliver it?

She got the present yesterday (sat) her birthday!! It was supposed to be delivered to her room between 7-8pm but as they were going to be at Victoria and Alberts at that time, They arranged for her to pick it up at the sandy Cove gift shop! she was absolutely thrilled to bits with the figurine:)
Thanks everyone for your help, and to sammie telling me not to give up!:goodvibes
