UPDATED: 12/29/2008
Below are confirmed items that can be used for your snack credit on the 2008 dining plan. If an item is not listed, it has not been confirmed as a snack option or I missed it on another thread.:)
New for 2008: All items which Disney considers Family size ie; large bags of chips, boxes of donuts, jars of dip, etc. are not longer included as a snack option.

I would appreciate it if anyone going soon could find out what Divvies brand items are available as a snack. They are sold in the Main Street Bakery and at some of the hotel food courts. There are things like small packages of Choc. Chip cookies, caramel corn, jelly beans, etc.
They are peanut free items that DS can eat!

I am getting married in Disney on Dec. 6th 2008 (honeymoon 12/4 - 12/11 2008) and we are going to be on the Premium Plan -- so I am happy to see that the snacks I have been looking at are still there.. :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:

We tried to get churro's in mexico for a snack on dec 21 and it was not allowed on the 2007 plan. But the cm allowed it as a wish, that was nice of her. We found funnelcake, cin rolls , huge ice cream cookie sandwiches, smoothies, fries for a snack credit.

We just got back and the following were included for 2008:
EPCOT:
Fountainview Ice Cream - A single scoop in bowl, single scoop in cone, double scoop in bowl, milk shake. Sundaes are NOT included (but yum, they're good)
MGM:
Starring Rolls: Many things are included (seems like most of what was before). We personally got the tiramisu and the napoleon, both included.
DOWNTOWN:
Goofy's - Create your own fudge covered cookie or create your own gingerbread covered cookie

We just got back late Friday from a week at VWL and I spoke with several CM's at the Mercantile who all told me snack credits can now be used only for "individual items". No longer for the family sized boxes of cookies, etc.. They do have a rack with the snack logo on top and everything on the rack are single serve items. Also, same thing for bottled drinks.

Can anyone confirm churos are NOT on the snack list for 2008? My ds12 will be crushed. This was his main reason for wanting the dining plan. If they are not allowed on the plan as a snack, is the only way to get them to buy them op? (You can't add them as a dessert or something?) I realize this is silly but it is a huge part of disney for him. "No one else's churos come close to Mickey's" TeeHee

I forgot to post this earlier, not sure if it has already been reported of not.
The special allergy free snacks all work still, but some cashiers think they will not. I had two say the carmel corn wouldn't work, but after I pointed out it was the dairy/nut/gluten free stuff they said they would try it and it went through.
They worked at the Pop food court, but I have an email from special diets that says they will work on the plan at all locations where they are available (at least one location in each park and most Resorts).
OT but related, they have new allergy safe snacks this year and many more choices than last year (18 months ago). Jelly beans, carmel corn, several kinds of cookies, brownies.

Just a few to add so far, reporting live from the Wilderness Lodge md-trip. :)
Chocolate covered strawberries and the big frosted character cokies at Main Street Confectionary are still snacks.
Divvies cookies & gluten free brownies are snacks at Roaring Forks. Haven't seen them anywhere else, but I know someone was asking if they were covered.
At Writers Stop at DHS, right now the coffee drinks are still snacks but baked goods are not. According to the cast member working the counter, this is temporary, and once their sign is updated only bottled drinks (20 oz sodas and water) will be snacks.
Baked goods at Sunshine Seasons are snacks, and their key lime tart is just as good as all the rave reviews promise!
And yes, Dole Whips are still snacks and I've finally tried one. Yummy, but too acidic for my pregnant stomach to take right now. The kids loved it, though.
Overall, I've been very pleased with the available snack selection. Writers Stop is the only place where I've wanted to use snack credits for something and couldn't, and I haven't noticed a substantial difference from our previous trips.

on January 10 we went to the counter loaded down with our less than $4.00 items and 12 snack credits to use before we went home that night. Only 4 items were approved. The cm pulled out multiple pages of UPC codes and prices and informed us that only single serving items were counted.:sad1:
back to the counters we went, back to the counters went our mickey pretzels and mickey cookies. We did enjoy our pretzel rods and marshmallows! We just wish we hadn't saved up those credits to spend at Goofy's, when there were better values at other stores and figaro fries....
most of the snack items were very small.

One snack credit can be used for only one item, with only one exception that I know of: under the 05/06/07 dining plans, you could use one snack credit to get both an individual-sized box of cereal and a small carton on milk. I don't know whether that's true under the 2008 dining plan, though.
But in general, one snack credit has always meant only one item, always under $4, and now always a single-serving item.

Most snacks which are available on the Dining Plan have a "DP" symbol next to them on the Price Board/Menu.

I assumed (should have known) it did, but no one is mentioning it. So if we get a popcorn the drink is oop?
Hope not

You cannot get both using one snack credit. You can use a snack credit for the popcorn and another one for the drink OR you can pay OOP for the cheaper of the two.

Just back from 4 nights/5 days on Dlx dining. Here’s what I have to add to the list:
Main Street Bakery – Chocolate Bundt Cake, Apples with Caramel Dip, carrots/celery with ranch dressing
Aloha Aisle – Pineapple spear
Boulangerie Patisserie – Croissant, Chocolate croissant, and one other I can’t remember the name of but it’s similar to the cream horn in Norway (I know it says no pastries in France, so I was SHOCKED when she asked if I wanted to use my snack credits! I fully expected to pay OOP for this!!)
Candy Store in DHS on sunset blvd. – Smores on a stick
Not a snack - Eggrolls in China (but they're pretty good anyway! :lmao:
GymboAddict

Just returned last nite.....checked over the list to add what I didn't see:
Beach Club Marketplace:
box of character cookies
chip n dale pretzels
toffee bars - "mickey" brand
peppermint pattie - "mickey" brand
MK:
Casey's:
side of chili as a snack
Thanks for the updates....your list helped us out on our trip! We experienced that the system will "allow" or say "not allowed" and the CM will tell you, " this isn't going through, so it must not be allowed as a snack". We tried several things that this happened to us on.....if it didn't go through, we'd say we didn't want it. My DD made the pixie stix thing at Downtown Disney (Goofy's) - the smallest size. We tried to see if it would count as a snack, but it didn't accept it. That is the only snack thing we paid OOP b/c she really wanted to "make" it.

We just got back and ALL items under $4 are a snack credit at France/Boulangerie Patisserie. They said they no longer have the peach tort. We had 70 snack credits all together and used about 8 there. We used 12 credits at Goofy's Candy Co. for Make-Your-Own pretzels, rice krispy treats and gingerbread cookies. The fill your own sugar tube is NOT included. The carmel apple with nuts IS included but none of the other apples. We also had the Asian Chocolate Cake and some kind of brownie with marshmallows from the bakery at The Land.

I just wanted to add that we asked extensively about the snack credit changes when we were there Jan. 23-29. According to the various cast members, including the manager at Goofy's, the new "line in the sand" is that items eligible for snack credits have to be priced at $4 or less, AND be packaged as single servings. That meant that my favorite $4 jelly beans were no longer snack credit options; they and most other bagged candies in the snack price range are now labeled "Family Size" on the package to clarify. Also, the little bundle of 5 lollipops was NOT a snack credit, because it was 5 servings ... but the larger single lollipops were still snack options. Large containers of milk in the Beach Club Marketplace (we stayed at BCV) were not available on snack credits, even though they cost less than $4, for the same reason. Ditto for other make-a-meal-in-the-room supplies.
Finally, many of the "grab a light meal on a snack credit" tips also don't work anymore. As noted elsewhere in this thread, for example, the egg rolls in China are NOT snack credit options. They're under $4, and I can't imagine that anyone thinks you're going to share your egg roll under ordinary circumstances, but there you have it; none of the food items were snack credits in China. Japan's miso soup, also under $4, was also a no-go.
It seemed to us that Disney was trying to make sure the snack credits were used for individual snacks, and that many of the "loopholes" were closed up. With the deluxe dining plan, we still had lots of food, of course--but the snack credits weren't remotely as flexible as they've been in the past.

Muffins for breakfast
chili cheese fries

We were disappointed that a few under $4 items were not included on the snacks, for example the fudge at Goofy's Candy shop. They were the same price as other candies, but couldn't be a snack. Also, there were lunch type of items at the France area bakery (ham sandwich, quiche) all single serve, but not included even though they were under $4.

These are snacks that we have found thoughout the parks and resorts. They will not be available inside TS restaurants. Most of the items in the parks are marked with the DP symbol and the resorts usually group the snack options near eachother and the shelf will have a DP symbol.
Disney's official brochure will show a very limited list of items. I started this list to help others enjoy the many additional snacks that are available.

I can't say if it's unusual for 2008, but in 2006 & 2007 I was able to use snack credits to buy Dole Whip (cup or cone), as well as a Dole Whip float (Pineapple soft serve with pineapple juice). The float costs more than the regular Dole Whip but is my preferred treat at the MK. This was at Aloha Isle in Adventureland at the MK.

AFAIK both have not been confirmed for 2008.
My family purchased Dole Whips at MK in late January using snack credits.

Goofy's Candy Store -- Chip & Dale Snack Dried Apricots the package says about 3 servings per package but I thought I would ask and it went through as a snack. What the cm said was most things are not but to try, so if you see something you like just ask.

This might be weird...but is a side of bacon at breakfast time included as a snack?
I'm not a big breakfast eater and would much rather use two snack options for breakfast (A side of bacon & a bakery item) than get a breakfast platter.
I'm trying to decide between going strictly DDE/DxDP for our next trip as through excel, it looks like we might be about even to do it either way.

My guess is no. Most "real" food is not included as a snack credit.

I spent last week at Disney, just returned home yesterday. We found that every cast member we asked had a different opinion about what was included with the snack credit and what wasn't. During our first visit to Goofy's Candy Co. at Downtown Disney this past Wednesday, I was told that anything in the store under $4.00 was included as a snack credit. However, when I returned to the cash registered with an arm load of stuff all well under $4.00, she asked if I got them off the one wall with the snack credit sign, that only those items are included (and no seasonal, Easter, items are included according this this CM). She was, however, incorrect because a lot of the items not on that wall ARE included including muffins, the candy in the candy case and the make-your-own items like the rice krispie treats, marshmallows and gingerbread mickey (but apparently not the caramel apples). They do have a log of about 3 or 4 sheets behind the register listing everything, and their barcodes, that are included. They seemed very nervous about trying to ring things up that they weren't sure are snack credit items. One girl told me that if the register rejects an item they have to ring everything up all over again.
The Fudge: At Goofy's Candy Co. just this past Saturday, one cast member told us that everything in the case of handmade candies was included EXCEPT the fudge. About 15 minutes later, another cast member told my husband that the individual pieces of fudge ARE included (just not the box set special) and he DID get a piece with our very last snack credit. It's a very good value for the money since one individual piece, which is pretty big, is just over $4.00 with tax so at the top end for snack credit limit. I was VERY disappointed that we hadn't been told this before. I would have stocked up on the yummy fudge instead of the boxes of character cookies. We and our children each got a make-your-own rice krispie treat and these were beautiful and yummy!! I highly recommend these.
SO yes, at Goofy's Candy Co. at Downtown Disney, the individual pieces of fudge are included.
I believe I got a few other things with snack credits not already listed. I'll put that together and post it this evening for you to add to the main list. Thank you, JJohnson, for your hard work on this. It was VERY helpful to us last week.
°o° Sally :)

Here are my additions to the list based on purchases I made with our many snack credits just last week. We were on the Deluxe Dining Plan and ate so much at meal times that we barely used the 56 snack credits during our stay so spent the majority of them at Goofy's Candy Company on our way out of town. I would spend the credits differently if I knew then what I know now. Anyway, here are some items I was able to get at Goofy's Candy Co I don't think are on the list yet........
blue plastic Cinderella slipper with candy necklace inside
Pez Dispensers: Princesses and Mickey & friends
Jawlipops: Jawbreaker Lollipop
bag of Chip & Dale Mickey Pretzels
Disney's Perfectly Princess Sweet Shoppe Frosted Cookies, 2 oz box
Disney Princess candy lipstick
bag of Chip & Dale Cashews (and other nuts)
Shortbread Rounds: 2 Mickey Face Cookies, 1.7 oz size
Shortbread Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffin
Chocolate covered Peanut Butter Sandwich
Individual pieces of fudge (just over $4 with tax)
Princess foil covered Chocolate coins (but apparently not the Mickey and friends chocolate coins)
Apparently NOT on the snack credit list at Goofy's Candy Co:
Mickey and Friends chocolate coins
Goofy's marshmallow braided candy
If you see something you think should be a snack credit don't be afraid to ask or have a cast member look it up. They do have a sheet of barcodes for items that are included that they can look it up on. We found that the cast members themselves weren't clear on what is included and what isn't.
Thank you jjohnson for putting this together for everyone.

When we were at WDW in Feb. the most confusion on the snacks were the CM's in the merchandise shops. We were at the Candy store on Main Street and they had to pull out a list of items that we could get. The CM even said that the merchandise shops are having a lot of trouble with the snacks. It was a lot of trial and error for the CMs. I know that it will get better, so please have patience with the CMs :)

There are a few other things on the list but to be honest, with the abbreviations they use I was not 100% what they were so I did not list them!! ;)

Hello, my husband and I were at the world last Oct and used the DDP. It was explained to me by the CM's there that a snack included anything edible/consumable that was $4.00 or less. Since we went for a weekend trip w/o the kids we decided to not use our snacks for ourselves but used them to get "snacks" to take home to the kids. We got to pick whatever we wanted.

Does anyone know if the 1/2 gallons of milk or the boxes of donuts are still included? How about the Large Bags of Chip and Dip. We got these last year at WL.
