Joyce, an update on Beaches and Cream: in addition to the beverages that have been allowed as snacks in the past now a single scoop ice cream cup, sugar cone or waffle cone all bear the DDP icon on the menu board for the takeout side of B&C. In the past, a Mickey Bar was also an option but I didn't go into that line to discover if it still was so.

Sorry if this is old news but I didn't find it listed.

It's news to me. AFAIK they only allowed beverages the past 3 years. Thank you for the update.:thumbsup2

Does anyone know how much the large lollipops shaped like Mickey Heads cost?

They vary in price because there are so many different sizes. I do know that the ones that are about 4-5" in diameter are available as a snack credit because my kids each got one during our recent visit.

Thats about the size I was thinking of. Do you remember how much they went for?

DD thinks they were about $3.50...but they do have smaller ones that are a little cheaper too.

I am editing this into a spreadsheet if anyone is interested. It should download into your palm or "other handheld" . Is there a files area I could post it to so I do not have to email it to tons of people?

I would love a version that would fit on my husband's PDA. Please do this -- I encourage you. Sorry, that's all I can do.

After reading through most of the posts on this thread, I found one that might help you. Click on this link http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1683477&page=27 and look at the first post. They had at one time setup an Excel spreadsheet but it hasn't been updated since. It works great on a computer, but would have to be simplified into a single column for use on a PDA. You might be better off just doing a Word document, similar to what's on the first page of this thread, for easier scrolling.

Whatever you do, please hurry. We leave in a few weeks! ;)

You could upload the file to MediaFire (www.mediafire.com (http://www.mediafire.com)) and provide the link to others so that they can download it directly, saving you from emailing the file to everyone. I did that in September when I made a PDF of the snack list at the time.

By the way, MediaFire is a free file hosting site that is 100% secure.

Last week we were able to use snack credits to buy a TURKEY SANDWICH at $6.49 for a snack credit!! We used this at Beastly Bazaar in AK. The CM told us it comes up as a snack, we were going to get a bowl of fruit from the fridge there but he said try the sandwich. There were also ham and tuna sandwiches in that same case at the same price, but they wouldn't come up as a snack credit. We tried! So it was turkey sandwiches for us! I saved the receipt, but don't have a scanner to post it.

Best snack credit ever!!!:thumbsup2

Can you PM me your email address and I will send it to you as an attachement. Sorry I caught the flew bug and have not been working on it. I sent it to myself and down loaded it on ms Treo (palm) and it works fine. I might revise it into one colum though. Right now it is 3 and I did it this was so people could print it as a 2 sided document and stick in their bag. But it is all viewable on my treo.

Just back from the World and wanted to post that Goofy's in DTD is no longer accepting a snack for the make your own 3 pretzel offering. It is not a "single serve" snack, according to a CM. You can now only get one of those pretzel rods as a snack credit NOT 3. :confused3

OH NO!!! That stinks! I really wanted to do that on our trip, I love choc-covered pretzels. I guess I"ll be going with the marshmallows. Just had some with fondue this past weekend and it was delicious, so I guess that will have to do.

That is kind of ridiculous. I'll have to look at a pretzel rod bag when I'm at the store. I'd guess a single serving is more than just 1!

Nope! If you want to pre-plan, then you have to rely on other guests and their experiences. But, it can still change from day-to-day.

Many of the menu boards have DDP snack credit stickers on them though.

You'll get a "list" from Disney that gives you a very brief list of items you can get on the DDP, but it's nowhere near as exhaustive as what we've all been posting on the boards. You'll want to bring along an updated list of snacks from this forum before your trip. Have fun!

That's what I tried arguing too. Who only eats 1 pretzel rod at a serving??? Crazy, but nope, wouldn't allow it. One pretzel seemed like a waste to me, so I didn't even get it. Yup, they threw it out instead of just allowing it. :confused3

Yes, everything else was a go. You can also get ONE chocolate covered strawberry as a snack credit too, also a waste if you ask me.

In Cosmic Rays in MK they have a combo 1/2 chicken, 1/2 rack of ribs, mashed potatoes and a fresh veg for the mail course and then you get the dessert and drink. We shared this dinner a few times and actually had leftovers! The Land in EPCOT has Sunshine Seasons with many choices and a great dessert/icecream section.

Was this at Goofy's Candy Co? I sure hope so, I have been planning to go try this and have my DS so excited. He will not eat rice krispie treats or marshmellows so I thought the pretzel rods would be great for him. Will he eat a gingerbread cookie? Or a large Oreo cookie? They're very sweet, but, generally good.

No! Sorry, I didn't mean to be confusing!! I just bought a bag of regular pretzel rods from a store here at home and it says 3 is a serving. I was just pointing out how odd it is for Disney to be saying they can't do 3 b/c that's not a serving!

Question for anyone:

I know the tie-dyed cheesecake @ Pop Century can be purchased with a snack credit, but can it be purchased as the "dessert" if using a TS/CS credit at Everything Pop! ? I don't see why not, i.e. getting a burger or pizza with the cheesecake as the dessert.

Has anyone done this?

We just got back and unfortunately I can confirm that it only 1 pretzel rod is considered a snack now at Goofy's. The main candy maker (I remember her from years past) told us this is the new policy. The other workers didn't seem to know about it though so maybe that is how the other poster got 3. The one woman who knew about the change was not there the second time we went. We ordered the marshmallows instead, and I must say, they were really good and took several days to eat! Everything else (rice krispie, apple, giant oreo, apples) are still considered snacks. Seems ridiculous since several are more expensive than 3 pretzels but I assume it is the singe serving policy that cause the change.

I was at Goofy's last night at 11PM, and yes they have removed the 3 pretzel rods as a snack credit. I asked a manager when this happened and she said a few months ago. I told her they should post a sign or something, but she said they don't post signs to announce what has been removed from the ddp. Yes, I guess they wouldn't want to advertise all the things they keep taking away.

The apples haven't been allowed as snacks on the DDP ever. They were always above $4 once they had that rule and before that they just had the very restricted list. It will be interesting to see which of these manage to stay as snacks. They always seemed to be such a good snack value and it took so long for them to get made it seemed like one of those things where high demand but low capacity to make them would doom them to get off the snack list.

DD was able to get the apples using a DDP snack credit the last three times we've gone. It was limited to just the plain candied apples, or the caramel (with or without nuts), but she was definitely able to do it.

Does anyone know if the candy store (the one next to the Villains store) on Sunset in MGM/DS allows more snacks than just the smores on a stick listed here? We were there in May 2008 and were able to get brownies, icees, fudge etc. There was a lot you could get then and I'm wondering if that's changed since May. We're thinking of doing the new counter service plan for our trip in May which would give us 2 snacks a day so I'm already planning how to use them all :)

We too were able to get the plain caramel apples (not the fancy ones) as a snack on DDP in Sept. 08. We got ours at the Candy Cauldron at DTD.

I've never been able to get them as a snack credit they are $4.09 which puts them over the $4 mark. If I could use 2 snack credits for a corn dog nuggets and a drink, I'd be set for a lunch. (Which is why I think it's not a snack credit)

HI Just returned and when we were eating at the Main Street Bakery the family in front of us tried to use the snack credit for the Yogurt Parfait. They asked the person at the counter and they said yes but when we were behind them at the check out the cashier said no that they could not use a snack credit. The women said that they told her at the counter it was but cashier would not budge. When it was our turn to pay I asked to make sure I heard her correctly that the the Yogurt Parfait was not a snack credit. She said no it was not a snack credit. Right or wrong thought I would pass this on.

In August you could get a yogurt parfait as a Snack since they were 3.79 at the resorts (well, actually I noticed the price varied). It made a great breakfast that I didn't feel too bad about eating-- now sadly they are all around 4.59 so they don't fit the plan anymore. Not too many "savory" things do- which bugs me a little as you get dessert with the other options too....
HOWEVER I was able to get a salad (with Jarlsberg cheese) at Norway yesterday, along with the seafood bisque and mushroom barley soups- even the CM's didn't know if it would work but it did go thru and they were surprised. They didn't have the Jarlsberg leek- it may change daily?
Aside from the soup in the Land (which is excellent btw) I couldn't find much else in Epcot that would qualify as savory.

In many places you can get the meal part of the kids meals as a snack item. (I.e. you can get the uncrustable pb&j without drink or sides.)

Nobody can guarantee what will happen as of Jan 1, 2009. In previous years, there have been significant snack credit changes with every calendar year. However, this year there have been several reported changes throughout the year.

So, it's possible that they've moved to a system of more rolling changes. But, nobody knows for sure. I'd say, print this list as a base from which to guess and then come back and report your successes and failures on the soon to exist (2009 Confirmed snacks included in the dining plan).

I have a little update.

"Pizzasafari:
Breadsticks with Marinara $3.99"

This IS NOT on the dining plan anymore. When we were there last month I tried to get this as a snack and they said that it isn't included anymore. They confirmed that it used to be, but is not anymore. I ended up buying it.

Hi we used quite a few snack credits here this month and we WERE able to get candy apples, bags of cotton candy, etc all as snack credits. I asked the workers and was told I could get a candy or caramel apple (also the caramel with nuts) and ANYTHING in the glass case (like the fudge, giant peanut butter cups, etc). I did also use a snack credit for two of the giant white chocolate peanut butter cups there. We also used snack credits there on those little baby bottle suckers. We were NOT able to use it for those small tubes of sugar that is different colors where you make your own. The workers seemed surprised as we picked the smallest one and they said you couldn't share it really so they were surprised.

I can't tell you how many people asked us where we got the candy apples from. They were YUMMY!

Yes and no.

They will give you a current brochure which will tell you about quick service meals, table service meals, character meals, signature meals and dinner shows.

In terms of snacks though, there are many other places that won't be on that list and they seem to have moved away from providing an advance list of DDP snack locations.

Thank you so much to everyone who comes and posts here to keep info up to date!

This thread is what persuaded me to go ahead with the DDP. I used (I think Tricia's?) spreadsheet to compare what we would actually spend to the cost of the DDP and it was so close to break even, we were deciding against the DDP in case plans had to change for unexpected reasons. I knew Disney had great snacks and - from the brochure - an orange and a bag chips or bottle of water just didn't appeal!

Our trip is in June, and we are so excited as it's our daughter's first trip to Disney. :goodvibes It's a little disheartening to see the cuts starting to the snacks already - bread sticks from Pizzafari and on another thread cinnamon rolls?

Not a problem really, but we will use the new 2009 Snacks to decide whether we'll cancel the DDP.

Thanks to everyone!!

Gigi

i was disappointed that the pizzafari breadsticks didnt count! i was bummed! but we did get the funnel cake and they gave us the strawberry and whipped cream for free! that was sooo great, better than any i've ever had. it was not greasy at all. the ice cream sandwich was very good at Main St. the cookies were a bit too hard though, it made it challenging to eat. maybe it was that they were out all day? we got it at 1am or later. never did get the figaro fries. i got the flavored icecream in the waffle cone at DHS by RRC, which was sooo good!!!! i had the orange. The caramel apples at DHS are so good, the caramel is something tastier than any other apples i've had. i miss those now! at the confectionary at DHS i used up my snacks getting prepackaged disney cookies. they're wrapped as singles. The peanut butter one was the best! It's been fun eating them since we've been home. I also got a bag of salted almonds as a snack. I got the Dole Whip at Poly, i liked the soft serve better than the one at Frontierland with the juice. Poly also had really good chocolate cupcakes!

a couple of reasons:
1) They'd have to give you a booklet listing all the options
2) If you don't know, you get cheaper snacks which is cheaper for Disney.

The figaro fries weren't removed, but, their definition was changed. To many people this was the equivalent of removal.
