My DD really wants to do the 7 day cruise and I told her it would have to be next year. Which means during either Feb or April vacation from school. For those of you who've been, is there a measurable difference in the two periods? I'm leaning towards April thinking it might not be as popular but I'm not sure if that's true or not.
Thanks for your help.

Alot of reading on the boards and in books have all said April school breaks are one of the busiest times for WDW. So am sure the cruise would be the same. Its a peak time for WDW for price also. Feburary is suppose to be slower!!! Have fun!!:p

Just a guess, but I would imagine you could get better availability and better prices for February than you could for April. I'm guessing that because New England is the only place I know of that has a week-long break in February as well as another in April. (I was unfamiliar with the concept of a February break until I tried to fly into Boston one year at the end of February break and wasn't able to get any flights.) Most school systems outside of New England do not have a February break... thus better availability on the boat.

Also please keep in mind that in 2003, Easter is on April 20th. This means that cruises the week before and the week following will be very pricey! We booked the 7-day Western for April 26th, after the holiday hubbub (and holiday high prices) have died down. The cruise on the 26th was significantly cheaper than the 2 weeks straddling Easter. I guess it just depends when in April your DD's school vacation is. :)

Some California schools are out for Presidents week too. We also have a break the first week of April this year. We had thought about doing the cruise next Feb, but the prices were kinda high. We decided to add on some time to our DVC vacation this August and try the 7 day Western sailing on Aug 17th. Can't wait!!
