I am getting ready for our cruise next week and am running out of packing room. Do I really need multiple suits on the 7 day MAGIC? I have a black suit to be used. Should I pack others? How many nights are suits/jackets required?
Thanks.

My DH brought only one suit with us when we cruised...several dress shirts and ties, but one suit was just fine...

So, he wore the suit on the formal nights? No jackets on the other nights?

I packed a suit to wear at the two formal dinners, and another jacket to wear at Palo or Lumière's. I packed a few different shirts and ties to make the jacket and suit go a little further.
Depending on your dining rotation and when (or if) you eat at Palo, you'll need the suit for dinner on Sunday and Thursday (formal nights), a jacket for Lumière's on the non-themed night you eat there, and a jacket for Palo. I'd definitely make the jacket do double-duty for both Palo and Lumière's.
On one cruise, we did Palo on the same night as the Lumière's night, so I really only needed the jacket once. Of course, that was my first cruise, and I packed the suit and two jackets, which was indeed overkill...

Yes, DH wore the same suit on both formal nights (different shirt/ties).Our rotation was LAPLAPL, so the first night we were in Lumieres....and they state that the first night everywhere on the cruise is casual since everyone has just boarded..he wore dockers and a nice button down shirt for that night.

I packed one suit and one jacket. It worked out very well. Just take extra shirts and ties.

How about non formal nights? Am I still required to wear a jacket?
Or would Dockers slacks and a golf shirt be acceptable?
thanks,

On the non-formal nights, you would only have to wear a jacket when eating at Lumière's or at Palo. Dress is casual in both Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay. I think the only restriction is that they ask that you not wear shorts. Dockers and a golf shirt is perfect.
Note that you don't have to dress up to eat at Lumière's on the first night. Casual dress is suggested in all three dining rooms, as all luggage may not be delivered by the early seating.
