Well we are back from the world and feeling very jet lagged and full of cold, the kids body clocks have been a nightmare to get back into uk time, just hope they don`t fall asleep at school :rotfl2:

Our trip was full of highs and lows but 1 great thing came out of it,will leave that till last, thats if you`ve not already guessed it lol.

The highs.

The weather was fab, only had to pull on our coats for 3 of the 21 days there so have got a nice tan to flash

Meeting some new friends on our very 1st Dis meet, had a fantastic time and was nice to meet them all in person, hope to do it again.

Our hotel room was in a nice location, was kept very clean thanks to mouse keeping and only a short walk from the pool :thumbsup2

MVMCP fireworks, parade and the castle lights took our breath away, the kids loved it to.

Chelsea`s BBB makeover on xmas day was fab, they done a fantastic job and she looked gorgeous.

New year at MGM was great even tho we was only there till 11ish (kids got very tired). The dj was fantastic and really knew how to get the crowd going and Mulch, Sweat and Shears gave us all a good laugh.

Angel and Lex meeting the characters for the 1st time, there faces made the holiday worth while.

Now for the low`s......................Very boring so would`nt blame you to skip it :lmao:

Virgin........Where on earth do i start with them.
We will never fly with them again after the headache they put us through on twilight check-in.
They messed up on our booking as they never changed my partners surname when he requested it months b4, that meant he could`nt check in and had to spend a good hour plus on the phone to virgin.
Then they lost our son`s passport down the luggage belt and spent another good hour looking for that.
No compensation what so ever was offered.

Allss resort was awful, rude groups of kids and even ruder coaches who could`nt control there teams.

Crowded buses, how they can expect a person to stand and hold on with a baby and buggy i do not know, many complaints got directed straight to the all star manager and we don`t think he even gave a stuff.

Lack of food choices at the end zone, will defo be going for the DDP next trip.

And last but not least the xmas crowds, my daughter very nearly did`nt make her BBB because of the parade even tho we gave ourselves 45 minutes to get from main street to the castle.

But But But the biggest high of the whole entire holiday has to be................................................ .................................................. .

We are now happy members of the DVC with deeds at the AKV.

We are now happy members of the DVC with deeds at the AKV.

Welcome home.

I know what you mean about Virgin. They seem to have dropped their standards a lot over the past few years.

Forgetting the lows, glad you had a great time.

Welcome home Amy, it was great to meet you and your lovely family :thumbsup2

I noticed a lot of teams arriving after Christmas, and the only time I really noticed them was on the bus, and that was because they sat in the seats and wouldn't give them up for women with babies/small children. My main gripe was the buses too, they were awful - but other than that we enjoyed staying at the ASSp

I'm so pleased that you had a great holiday and I look forward to hearing more about it - are you doing a trip report ? I hope so

Congrats on becoming DVC members :cheer2:

Sounds like you had a great time. You were brave enough to go to MK on Xmas day then??

Last time we went, we went to Universal on the 25th & SeaWorld the time before that.

Hiya

Glad you had a good time. Welcome home. We bought the AKV too when we were out there. I soooo cant wait to return to use it.

I heard about the horror stories regarding check in from Claire (Fizz13). What a nightmare. I cant believe they didnt do anything.

We stayed at ASMu and wouldnt stay at the All Star Resorts again. I wasnt that bothered with All Star before I stayed at POFQ in August. We noticed the difference in hotel guests. I.e loud shouting teenagers around the park, barging past in line and then the famous brazilian tour groups that takes up the whole bus themselves.

We have been there and done that. After viewing the AKV we thought yes this is what we want. A few days before we left we spent the evening in AKL lobby and it was lovely. Peaceful and so pretty. The animals were amazing. I have no regrets in buying AKV.

Glad you did have a good trip after that. BTW isnt BBB amazing. My dd had this done on her birthday and she looked gorgeous. What a lovely experience for her.

Thank you all, we are happy to be home but would love for the warmer weather to have followed us back :)

I know what you mean about AKV Angel659, we spent the evening there after a day at AK, had a meal from the mara and sat round the pool and ate.
Can`t wait to stay there in September, so glad we can call it home.
