Now that the forecast calls for rain, I will also pack an extra set of clothes in the check in bag. What else can you do to make the running in the rain be more pleasant?:rotfl2:

My visor will at least keep teh rain from dripping in my eyes. You may want to body glide extra too. Last year I chafed in palces I never do. Think it's becayue I dumped so much water on myself.

Visor or some type of a cap with a brim.
Definitely put a set of dry clothes in the checked bag.

Suck it up, princess! :goodvibes Have never heard of any reports of people melting in the rain in a race.

the year I ran the half in 2002 they still ran the half and full together on the same day. not 5 minutes after I finished the race--the skies OPENED UP. we are talking torrential downpur. I was so thankful that day I wasnt running the full. I might not be so luucky this year. ugh.
I have my dd singing the rain rain go away song non stop,....

I also did the half in 2002. I remembered finishing the race and going back to the resort, showered, clean, and dry, then turned on the TV. It was showing thousands of full marathoners still out on the course and they were totally drenched! I felt so sorry for them!

This could be those of us planning on squeezing every minute out of that 7-hour alloted time. :scared:

I always have a jacket that can be rolled into itself as a pack. It fits perfectly in my pack that I carry. I am also quite accustomed to wearing my jacked tied around my waist (as evidenced from my ToT pic in my avatar) as a lot of times here in Maine, I start out with it on because it is cold and end up with it off because I am hot!!! A hat with a brim or a visor is a MUST though if it is raining. I wear contacts and it is never good when rain is streaming into your eyes!
