passports

Hi all just a quick question, i was wondering if anyone here knows when we will need our passports to drive into the united states, i have heard it was December 31st 2009, can someone help.

As of this time, there is no firm date.

The US Congress has removed all funding from US Homeland Security's proposal to require passports from Canadians and Mexicans at land border crossings (and delayed enactment of the legislation until June 2009).

However, Homeland Security says they will still forge ahead (and we thought our government was screwed up....).


The net result? Probably not anytime soon (doubtful for 2008).

I would bet that we won't know anything for sure until after the next Presidential election. Just my guess.

I completely agree. The next president and the next congress will really set the agenda on this one.

i heard something on my news tonight but i could not get it all, its was something about needing a Canadian citizenship card or a passport did anyone here this on the news ?
