US Car Hire and Happy Trails

After reading about US Car Hire on these forums I decided to give them a go and got a great rate for a 7 seater SUV with Alamo for Feb. Does anybody know if I can use the happy trails kiosk at MCO with this booking or will I have to go to the reservation desk?

On the us renta car web site it gives details of a form to fill in to be able to use it, i read somewhere if you want to add extra drivers and you have the gold ins package you can also do this at the kiosk, you just tick the box where it says $11 per day but it does not charge you this at the end of the transaction, sorry can't find where i read it now, i have booked ther same car and hoping to do this in may so please let me know how you get on

Got the following response from US Car Hire. (Very quick response condsidering I only e-mailed them this morning (Sunday)!)

"The kiosks are still under trial at present, so some customers can and some can not. If you sign up at https://www.alamodirectroad.com/directroad/index.jsp for pre-registration, then you can attempt to use the kiosk on arrival. It seems at present around 20% of customers have been successful. Alamo wont tell us the criteria for customers that have been successful (perhaps it’s just random)."


I have pre registered on the site and will try in Feb.
