Okay so idk if this has been posted or not, but girls, what do you do for a bag when you're at WDW? Do you go with the oh-so-lame fanny pack? Or a mini backpack? Or something else?

I bring my Adidas Drawstring Bag with me.

It's great and I brought towels and my camera when I went to Typhoon lagoon.
And then money, water, snacks, and other things when I went to the parks.
Except for when we went to downtown disney and regular shopping I brought along my purse.

We also bring along a backpack also just to put our digital camera and snacks and everything for everyone in and just carry that around.

The only days I bring a bag is to waterparks. And thats just a Lilo And Stitch backpack, specially for Disney world. It's relatively small. In the theme parks, I usually just hold my water or tie my camera round my neck and if anything else..

give it to my mum or brother etc :) Because I'm lazy :rotfl:

someitmes I bring a tote bag to put my water and purchases in, or sometimes I just bring a small clutch so I dont have to carry around too much.

I bring a drawstring back pack I got from old navy like 5 years ago. You can see where the sun bleached it I've brought it down so many times.

Last time I went to DLR was in February, and I brought my little mini backpack. I kept my camera, sunglasses, and other random stuff in it.

My mom didn't go on the rollercoasters, so she held it then.

My dad bought this drawstring backpack for me to use in Disney.
It was big enough to hold my wallet, my m&m tube (for my pennies and quarters), my autograph book, my camera, my pressed penny book, water (if I needed it), my sunglasses, and I hung my hat around one of the strings if I didn't want to wear it. It also held my Mickey ears if I didn't want to wear them.

Worked out perfectly.

I usually just carry my Dooney barrel purse. It holds my camera, brush, sunglasses, wallet, etc very nicely.

None!

My mom used to have a backpack with the camera, water and other surplies, which meant only she had to go through the bag check entrance ( i can remember when they didnt even have those things!).

It was only small, so it wasnt a big hassle!

I usually bring a big purse that i got from my mom's friend for my birthday a few years ago

but sometimes i bring a drawstring bag and i have taken the oh-so-lame fanny pack before (just ONCE i promise) and it did work okay but i like the drawsting bag the best it's the easiest to carry around

My mom is the only one that carries a bag when we go. We have this Disney backpack that hold everything so she carries that and it holds my camera, my sister's and my dads. And then our sunglasses and anything else we need in the park that day. And surprisingly it is never that heavy. We usually buy our water and snacks in the park so we've never had to carry those in the bag for that long. If your going to Disney soon, have fun! :goodvibes I'm VERY jealous. Haha.

Thanks.
So now it's between a mini backpack, drawstring bag, or a tote.
Thanks. At least I know the MAJORITY of you guys don't use a fanny pack:sad2: :rotfl2: haha kidding. I've used one before..when I was like...5. BUT anyways haha so I'll just search around then for one of those and see what I like.
One more question, with the backpack/tote/drawstring bag, any issues/annoyances during WDW?

Eh, fanny packs are great for holding stuff and REALLY easy to carry around, but as you said, they are terribly lame and ugly
(my dad wears one though hahah)

My mom uses a Bagalini which fits TONS of stuff, and is apparently light weight.

I wouldn't reccommend bringing a purse or tote because they get totally annoying hanging off your shoulder all day.

I usually bring a small drawstring backpack (with tink of it :D)
http://www.superbackpack.com/mm5/graphics/thumb/tinkerbell-drawstring.jpg
^^^^ this exact thing actually

my sister sometimes brings a purse/bag thing that goes across her shoulders. it's really easy to take on rides.
but last trip she got a backpack like mine.

i like the backpack because it's not too heavy and you can take it on rides pretty easily too.

Annoyances with the bag?

Drawstring bags get wrapped around my wrist if I'm carrying it in my hand and it gets stuck so I have to untangle it while I'm walking. That's really about it.

When I'm in the park, I don't carry anything. My parents wear the fanny pack that has everything we need.
The most I carry is a camera.
We don't do cellphones because the roaming charges would be ridiculous for us.

yeah saaaammmee!!!
no cells for us!

we use mobile radio thingys sometimes (rarely though)

i pretty much use my bag for my camera (+ extra memory/batteries), wallet (with $$ & tickets), water & anything my mom might not have room for in her bagalini (she doesn't know the meaning of 'travel light')

WDW:
Crowds, many many people. During the parades there are going to be crowded together and some people might try to push in your way and get in front of you. When we went these people just kept inching closer and closer in front of us until we couldn't see.

Waiting lines. Very long almost all year round. Most of the rides are worth waiting for and while waiting in Soarin' we were around some pretty funny people and we enjoyed it. Especially at the interactive part and we were birds racing. Our whole section participated and we'd almost hit a tree everyone was saying "OOOOOH." lol. great times. Usually the waiting lines are very nice especially EE and I enjoyed waiting because of the scenery.

Strollers. I've been ran over by alot of them.

And the heat is also annoying, make sure you bring alot of water! You'll need it and be happy you bring some.

If you are going to see Fantasmic! at the 9? I think it is showing and you want good seats. Get there early! We went at 7 I believe and everyone was already starting to pile in. We got magnificent seats and waiting 2 hours didn't bother us much. Very good show.

Same with the fireworks shows. We went and found a spot right after the Spectromagic parade at MK for the wishes show and luckily we got one right up to the fence so we could see. It's extremely crowded and you'll need to be there a little early. Also the same with Illuminations but when we went it was possible to get an ok spot before it started.

=) This is just how it was when I went in July so I'm not sure about the crowds or how it will be now.
I want to go back now.

Oh I just meant while your in WDW with that bag/tote/whatever if there have been any annoyances. But thanks though :thumbsup2

I highly recommend either the tote or backpack if you need to bring either. The tote might get annoying to carry around. Most of the rides have storage compartments for your bag so that shouldn't be a problem. It may get a little annoying to carry around once in a while but with the backpack/ drawstring bag you know you'll have room for everything you need! :thumbsup2 Hope that helps.

If you have any more question just ask!

Is this your first time going to Disney?

Normally I use the drawstring bag you get free on the plane :)

i try to avoid bringing a bag period because i hate when you stuff it juuuust right and then they make you take everything out at bag check.

but i have a small pirates drawstring which holds wallets, phones, and cameras with a little extra room for whatever. its easier to hold with it on your back instead of your shoulder so you have both arms free.

Thank you all! I think I'll go with a backpack. But a mini one. I've never used a drawstring but I know from shopping that I'd get irritated pretty quick if I wind up holding the bag in my hand and I have no blood circulation, not to mention the lines.

I have been to DL in '02 and used a mini backpack. I just remembered haha. But I blanked out now for what I did when I rode rides. But since you mentioned that there are storing areas on the rides is it all or just some?? And that's going to suck too if I end up filling my bag all the way and end up having someone go through it and mess up my organization. Which isn't going to be good, since I have OCD with organization. :rotfl2:

Lizbon- Unfortunately, yes. This is my first time going to WDW. And I'm so excited even though I've still got a few months...

LMR1991

Double post!

Speaking of storage spots, are they on all the rides? I know there's one on the raft ride in AK(cant think of it's name) but that's all I know of.
And that's going to suck being checked for the bag/tote. I've never dealt with that at DL and I have OCD with organization. So that's going to suck. Do they put the stuff back in for you or do you have to do it yourself?

So now between a mini backpack or my HCO tote bag...hmm.

Lizbon
01-06-2008, 04:44 PM
Ugh I could have sworn I replied.

So I decided that I'm going to use a mini backpack. It'll be easier to use than a tote, since I can't stand having my own purse fall down my arm there's no way that I'd be able to stay happy from that haha. Although I do have a Hollister tote bag I just got that has straps that don't fall every second, so I might use that.... But if I don't it's definitely a mini backpack. Now that I thought about it, no to the drawstring backpack, I don't like them that much, although there are a few cute ones.

This is my first time going to WDW. I have been to DL before and brought a mini backpack. I can't remember what I did though with it on rides. I don't recall there being any storage spots.

I am pretty sure there are storage spots on most of the rides. Other rides like Haunted Mansion (for example) that don't, you can just hold onto the bag because its not a crazy ride or anything. If you have anymore questions just ask, I've been to Disney many times.

I'm bringing my purse when I go to carry around in the park.
I used to use those back pack things but the strings on them would always get screwed up.

Vannah
01-06-2008, 09:58 PM
My bag kept breaking.
Like, the string would come through the bottom.
But then we'd fix it, and it'd stay for a couple of days.

splash mountain is the only mountain without storage. sorries. all other mountains, including everest have somewhere to store things.
places that i know dont have storage that you might have to worry about are test track and splash.
but other rides such as pirates and small world, dont really need it. just watch out that you dont leave anything behind.

the worst place to leave something is any transportation vehicle. wether it be the monorail, bus, or boat dont leave anything behind! it takes forever to locate and find things that were left on transportation vehicles. just remember to double check when you get off and if you do end up forgetting something, alert the nearest cm right away, most are really good about reporting to the driver to take a look at the next stop.

Hi ya!
ooooh have a great first time at the world!!!

Most rides will have a net bag where you are sitting to store stuff, otherwise you may have to leave it the other side of the ride (to pick up on the way out)

When they check ur bag at the gate, they will ask you to open it. They may ask you to remove an item or two so they can see to the bottom, otherwise they dont touch them (you never know what someone could be carring in there!). They wont mess it up at all, i promise you!

Hope you have a fab trip!

Usually my dad will bring a backpack and everybody just stuffs their junk (plus snacks for everyone) inside it, things like jackets and hats and the camera. I like carrying bags but don't bring one to WDW, at least not the parks. Well... I can't remember. Maybe I *do* carry a bag and just... forgot? I do have a vague idea that I was carrying something around in November, but it was most likely my hat. If I don't have a bag with me and need to carry something, pockets are a pain in the neck so I turn either my canvas hat with the drawstring and the mouse ears or the wool cap upside down and fill it with whatever needs carrying and that's good enough for me.

If you're not bringing too much,I still recommend cargo pants.
It's so easy to just put the camera in one pocket, cell in another, and chapstick in another.

If you're packing light,I would look into these.
I've seen them all at Aeropostale,American Eagle and Hollister.

I bring a WDW drawstring bag that i got this year that has all the characters. I put my camera, sunglasses, a small deodorant, and a water.
