Extremely excited first time cruisers (me, DW, DD's 13 & 4 and DMIL) sailing 05/04/02 curious to know if cabin 8014 on deck 8 is noisy. We were informed by the travel agent that the cabin is conveniently located near elevators. We were also told that the deck above has lots of activity. Also, curious to know if gentlemen ever wear white dinner jackets on formal night(s).

Hi, jcollier. Welcome to the DIS boards.
8014 will probably be fine. I recently asked people whether they had problems with noise in their Deck 8 rooms, and this was the comment I got about 8012 (next door):

White jackets would definitely be the exception, but I see no reason not to wear one.

Thank you for the welcome and the info on the cabin. I have bothn a black and white jacket. Was curious if any one ever wore the white. Thanks again for the info, Dave

We cruised last year in room 8005 and never had an problems with noises. It was great! Of course, at night just to be sure, we always used a noise machine.
I think the white tux jacket would be great. Especially after a day in the sun. My hubby just bought a new tux to wear the next time we cruise on Disney for 2 weeks in August.
Happy sailing!

Thank you Boomerwan for the info on the cabin. Can't wait until trip. Seems like an eternity. I think I'll give the white jacket a try.

We had room 8020 and it was quiet. The only complaint we had was the AC didn't work that well. There was hardly any air circulation. Other then that it was a really nice stateroom. We can't wait to be back on the Wonder in June.:D
