We just got back. We were there 12/23 to 1/3/08. We had an awesome time and were finally able to get a preferred when checking in! We were in site 1425 and loved it. We used to love 800 but now like 1400 even better. The kids loved being so close to the campfire and Meadows.
I did not see any fellow Diser's there. We had our Dis tag up but never met up with anyone.
Our last 2 nights were so cold! Our heat went out in the pop-up and had to change propane tanks at 3 a.m. in the cold and wind. Another camping lesson learned!
I already miss the Fort, as the kids said it feels weird to be home. We get to go back in June so we are already looking forward to it!
Sorry we missed our fellow Disers!

I'm glad you had a good time !! :) That is almost the same dates we are going next year. I was going to request the 1800 loop again, but if all of the loops will be pet friendly, then maybe I will request one closer to the meadow area paw:
I've been reading about the cold temps. I hope it wasn't too much of a problem.
You are lucky you get to go again this year (not jealous at all :rolleyes1 )

Welcome home! I am sorry your heat went out but glad you only needed to switch the tank. We will have to check out the 1400 Loop on our next trip hopefully in February.
I am glad you had a great trip!

that I had to give up at the last minute on 12/22. That would be cool. We were able to reschedule for March so we are happy too.

Cold???? Hell yes, cold!!! I live 25mi west of FtW & on the morning of 1/3/08, we hit 22 degrees!!! We ran our sprinkler system so we wouldn't lose any plants (or at least minimize the loss) and we had a coating of ice on everything!! It was really quite beautiful! One of my hibiscus plants may have to be replaced - but we'll wait and see. Today (1/5) we are supposed to be back in the mid-70's.
This is a prime example of why you should pack for all temperatures from December thru February when coming to Florida during the winter. (Gloves & hats, too - but no snow shovels :lmao: - Although I'm told it did snow up around Jacksonville & St. Augustine :scared1: )

Those are our dates for next Christmas, too, Shannone1. We will be in the cabins. Maybe we will run into you on a bus somewhere!!
