I was looking for an L Word thread, but I could not find it. Is anyone else excited about Sunday's premier? I've been waiting for 3 months for it, since the DVD for the fourth season was released.

Any thoughts on what may happen?

Thanks for the heads-up, I didn't know it started this Sunday. It seems like it's been gone for a long, long time ... I need to quickly watch last season again via OnDemand to refresh my memory.

I promise no spoilers...but the episode is up on ourchart.com. It is edited, but if you can't hold wait, like me, then check out there. From what I saw there was not a lot of plot edited out, mostly the curse words.

Hurry up and watch it so we can get a disscusion going!:thumbsup2

I have to watch it with my best friend or I would. We just took a month and a half to rewatch the first four seasons. I miss Dana still :(

I have already vowed that if they kill Tasha I will not watch the show ever again! They killed Dana and already put them on thin ice with me, they can not kill off my new favorite character!!!

"you are my sunshine, my only sunchine"...I am tearing up right now:sad1:

Now on the other hand Jenny can stay lost on the ocean forever and the show would be so much better!

Jenny....don't even get me started on her. What ever happened to the French girl after the romp with Marina in the hotel room?

And I wanna see Dana's little brother. I would assume he could make a guest appearance...as he was kinda cute.

Stitch'sGlitch

:dance3: I honestly think that they are avoiding the Dana topic all together they relieze it was stupid and wrong to do such an awful thing. They made me scrounge for any piece of Dana...including the bit part she had on Dexter.

I see that we feel the same way about Jenny! I have hated her since DAY 1, her and her stupid manatees and books and GAHHHHH. I would be upset if they killed off or got rid of any character, but her. If they got rid of her I would throw them a parade! :dance3:

Alright so this is the great debate in our house...do you want Bette and Tina back together? My DW says no she thinks that they should move on and I think it is because she likes Jody. I on the other hand would like to see them get back together since they are the closest thing we have on the show to a stable relationship. Opinions anyone?

I like Bette/Jody, but I don't think it will last. I would like to see Tina and Bette get back together, but who knows if that will ever happen (again.)

I miss the first two seasons, when we had hot Carmen moments, Helena was still rich and condescending person, and Shane sold herself with that one random friend. Oh the good old days :goodvibes

Ugh So you are right down with Jenny...just the opening sequence wanted to make me hurl...well also giggle a little bit as well. It was so ridicolous it was funny. I think that we are going to get a little bit every episode of her movie. I am going to miss Kristanna Locken as well :( I will admit that I am not sure how I feel about Max not going through transition, I understand where he is coming from, but I still am not sure about it. So what do you think Shane is going to do about Wax? And will we ever see out Manny again?

I think I forgot how much I enjoyed that show. I think the world could do without having to be subjected to Jenny on a weekly basis!

Bette and Tina...not really sure that I would want then back together. I like that other Characters are introduced because of it.

I want to see more of Max and Tasha!

Since this is an L word thread…have any of you went to OurChart.com?

Yes I will admit Jenny does make me feel better about myself..."don't worry you are not going that crazy you are still normal compared to Jenny". She is crazy!! Sadly I think that she has some how secured her place on the show, I don't want to know how thought since we know it is not through fans.

I don't know about seeing more Max, but I would be all over seeing Tasha somemore.:lovestruc

So I noticed no one has mentioned one of my favorite characters yet - Alice. Okay, okay, so I love Shane, and Tasha, and blessed Carmen, but there's just something about Alice. She's such a weirdo, but in that endearing sort of way. I would never wear half her clothes, but on her? So cute. I just want to ruffle her hair. Alright, I'll stop. Just thought I should throw in kudos for her.

Well, at least IRL, the actress that plays Alice is really a lesbian. I love her character, but in a little sister sort of a way. She reminds me so much of this old friend of mine that I have lost touch with over time, who's name was Connie. Connie had that same sort of spirit and was always in some sort of relationship drama. Great thread, thanks for starting it and keeping it going. Here's my .02 cents:

1. Jenny is the character I love to hate. Really, like you all I can't stand her, but she ignites lots of drama with the other characters and I love that.

2. Tina and Bette are boring, but honestly I think Bette is boring and couldn't really care who she is with.

3. I'm much more into Shane and Alice and their constellation of lovers.

4. Love Max, but I still wish they would have story lines with lesbians who want to stay lesbians, women-identified-women but who are really androgynous, not just "pseudo" androgynous, like Shane. I don't mean a caricature, but a really handsome woman, you know ... my type ... :) ... the type no one in this culture celebrates. Oh, well, don't get me started. It's too early ... although I already have spare ribs simmering in a nice "sauce." What a woman.... :cool1:

I love Tasha!! But Max, I have friends who are like him, and I can very much identify with the entire story line. Obviously there are differences but I do like seeing it reflected on screen. Where else will you see stories like that?

I am on Myspace too. That’s why I was interested about OurChart.

Only one more day!!! Hopefully this time I will remember to set the Tivo...my Dw almost murdered me when she came home and it hadn't recorded...I had to beg for forgiveness :worship:

I saw a preview for tomorrow nights episode and am really hoping that they don't turn Tasha into a raging lunatic.

PghLybrt, from what little I used ourchart I didn't like it. It is a cool concept, but you have to have a network of friends for it to be fun. None of my friends were on there, maybe i will try again in a few months.

I too have hated Jenny from day one! Even back when she clung to her boyfriend all the time, I thought she was awful. But now she's just insane...literally. Needs to check into the funny farm kind of insane. What a diva, and not in the good way!

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Bette and Jodi stay together, because I have the biggest crush in the world on Marlee Matlin, and I want her to stay a prominent character! She just became a member of the board of trustees of my university, and I am thrilled to see her on L Word! It's kind of painful watching Bette sign, but hey, she is trying. :D

So what's everyone's take on Episode 2??

Jenny's new assistant? She's gonna find herself in the whirlwind lunacy that is Schecter. Yikes.

So, yes, there's more um...lovin'...on the show, and it seems like the writers listened to the audience, but don't really have much of a storyline around the lovin'. Just seems a little extreme for the sake of extremity.

I love how Alice is supporting Tasha - she doesn't understand why she's in the military, but is willing to stay with her for Tasha's sake.

Oh, and that thing between Max and Jodi's translator? Hmm...he's hit EVERY spectrum a) straight in his younger years b) lesbian c)FTM d)FTM that's now possibly gay? Wowza.

Helena's daddy and her being in jail for tax fraud?? Not the slasher we all assumed she was? Oh, and what was with all the not super buff ladies in the shower? When I watch Sho I expect tight bodies! Just sayin...

Heh, since you brought up Tom...I am a sign language interpreter myself. I have no idea why they didn't consult with a real interpreter for the show, but Tom is completely inapporpriate. He interjects his opinions during conversation, he has private conversations with Jodi so others can't understand, and he will fail to interpret something if he thinks Jodi shouldn't hear it. It drives me nuts!

Ahem. Back to your regularly scheduled episode discussion. :)

LKLush
01-16-2008, 06:51 PM
I understand your angst - the L Word doesn't seem to consult a lot of people about a lot of things before writing about them. With that said, I think Tom is supposed to be more of a character than there to portray a career field as correct as possible. :confused3 I can understand you though, thinking that they should have done a better job. Maybe they thought there were so few of you guys it would just slide by? :)

Saxton
01-16-2008, 08:54 PM
It's not just sign language - they're off on IT (computers) and law enforcement too but then most shows take liberties.

I think Jenny's new assistant is not what she seems. We'll see her make things difficult for Jenny, possibly ala "All About Eve". Either that or she really is so meek and she'll eventually snap from being around Jenny.:rotfl:

I'm willing to bet their depiction of the military isn't too good either!

LK, you're probably right. And sure enough, all I'm doing is writing on a message board, instead of writing to the producers! I bet the number of interpreters who notice the problems AND would write is pretty small.

But it's okay though, I'll just watch Marlee during those scenes... ;)

Dullest of the season.....kind of happy to see Bette and Tina together again....I have been in that position.....only Elaine and I didn't go backwards. It would have been very comfortable to do so, but we knew that we needed to push ourselves forward. Elaine and I both knew that Kay, who I was with at the time, wasn't the one for me either, but when Corey came along.....it was just meant to be. But by the time Corey came along, Elaine and Boni had been together for over a year. Unfortunately, Kay wasn't too pleased at the time, but in the end, Elaine has Boni, Kay has Hannah, and I have Corey. Elaine and I both agree that we have found our soulmates now. But, that familiarity can be a powerful pull.....thank God that goes away over time.

Wow, I just let loose with my own episode of the L Word.....Lindy's History.

I'm watching Sunday's episode now. I'm not liking the way things are going with the Shebar couple, the two from L.A. who are trying to manipulate Shane. They just seem like one-dimensional characters and I hope this plot line doesn't last long.

LKLush
02-14-2008, 09:15 PM
Yeah the couple from SheBar are really getting on my nerves. The way they were looking down at Shane over the railing when making a "deal" with her (especially the blonde) then the blonde asking Shane to call her later? Ugh!

Oh and it's nice to see Tina and Bette back together (sort of) but don't you guys realize that Bette's cheating on Jodi? Wasn't the point of Bette and Tina (a few seasons ago) to show that lezzes can be in stable monogamous relationships? Now they're just as bad as all the other girls on the show. Alice and Tasha were more stable than these two now.

Speaking of Tasha and Alice - who's sad that they finally broke it off? I understand that their relationship could have been tough, but sometimes it's alright to have opposites in a relationship - they end up balancing each other out. To see Alice so broken...it was horrible.

How about Jenny's assitant - Mini Jenny - YIKES! Freak, much? Holy cow. And to tell one person one thing (you know...Max about her hair) and others something else - and not thinking that it'd get brought up between them. Or did she? Me and "the Other" are thinking that she's some sort of stalker who, to feel whole, takes on the personality/looks/life of the person she's stalking. Hmm...I almost think she's the most interesting plot line this season, which is pretty sad.

I guess this thread isn't getting much attention. Maybe it's because the season's only a 3.5/5 anyway. Too bad. Guess me and two other people'll have to keep it going.

Till next week.

I just watched the last 4 espisode this week. Whew!! Talk about drama. I feel bad for Shane. I have to say, I'm glad to see Bette and Tina plotline. I don't feel Bette was out of line with Jodi's friends. Afterall, they embarassed her, before even saying hello to her. And she did tell Jodi she had some work to do. And for MichaelAngelo to ask her if she made up Kitt being robbed, showed how shallow he was. Although he did drive home a point to Bette about enjoying art. On a lead in on some show today in the NYC area, they said Paris Hilton is signed up to join the cast.

Viki,
Really. Normally, I agree about Bette being pompous. But this time I actually sided with her. I know if I was in her shoes and my partners friends embarassed me like that - I would be stand offish with them. It reminded me of the times I used to rent a shore house with some friends. Granted, I would be one of the ones making comments - hypocritical I know - but I wouldn't want to have been in Bettes shoes. I would have atleast said hello first and feel them out before making comments. And if I was thrown into a lake, I would have left. Jodi should have told Bette more about the situation she was about to walk into. But then again, I am not fond of Jodi's character on a good day.

Etoile
02-15-2008, 08:58 PM
Yes, Bette IS cheating on Jodi, and it really makes me sad. I know Jodi is going to find out. Remember when Bette drove that tractor out to find Jodi, and Jodi said "You better not break my heart" to Bette? It makes me so sad because that is EXACTLY what is happening. :(

For Alice to be stable was kind of weird for me. I didn't think she was capable of it. But it's so sad that she is so crushed.

But yeah, Adele...there is a LOT more going on there. It might be the stalker/emulator/mini-Jenny thing, I don't know. But SOMETHING is up with that girl. She's not normal, and I don't just mean because she is working with Jenny. Something is weird about her.

Speaking of Max, did anyone else notice that when he stripped down to jump into the pool after the party brownie party, that it looked like he had male parts? There isn't a very effective bottom half sex reassignment surgery for FTM's, so I was surprised to see what I thought I saw!

I think Alice did the right thing buy outing the basketball player, the actress on the other hand is a different story.

I surely think there's something going on w/ the Col prosecuting Tasha. I hope that Alice does find something out about her and takes it to the show that she's agreed to. About that show - ugh! Those women really peeved me off - "be the happy gay not the angry gay"...

Oh yeah, and Adele, she's a little whacko for sure. That she set up Niki like that? Yikes! But...the SheBar sequence was a fun one to watch.

Honestly, the Bette/Tina/Jodi thing is a little tiring to me. Are they/aren't they? The only thing interesting to me in this episode was the assistant flirting with Tina and Bette seeing it (and Tina not apologizing about it). Get it over with - either way: them getting together or not.

I used to be a HUGE Shane fan, but I've gotten over her. Her story is a little played out, too (sorry to be such a downer this post), but her and Phyllis' daughter might make it more interesting - at least that's something the show hasn't explored before - Shane and a straight girl.

Oh, have I missed something? Where the HECK is Helena? I've forgotten if she's gone somewhere or is doing something or... I knew I was craving a British accent the other evening and wondering why it wasn't be satiated... If anyone can kindly remind me...

And who the heck cares about Paris Hilton possibly signing up with the show? Bad acting skills, someone I wouldn't care to know personally and someone I can't see as representing the community very well... Hot? Not... There's plenty of girls on the show that I enjoy seeing every week (despite the so-so writing), I don't need Miss People Weekly filling my eyes and ears any more than she already unfortunately does.

Oh, have I missed something? Where the HECK is Helena? I've forgotten if she's gone somewhere or is doing something or... I knew I was craving a British accent the other evening and wondering why it wasn't be satiated... If anyone can kindly remind me...

After Helena's Mom bailed her out of jail, she was "supposed" to go to a European country on the lame, never to come back for her trial. (Someone, what was she arrested for??? I don't know that piece of the puzzle). She skipped out on her Mom. She had Shane cover for her, and confided in Shane that she had "hidden the money" and was going to get it. I have a feeling Helena will be back.

Jenny? Do we watch the same person?;) When was she likeable?

I had more empathy for her in the first couple seasons, when she was working out the sexual abuse stuff and exploring her sexuality. Now, she's just a pompus b-word. I can't believe her friends are putting up with her!

and the pool incident....I don’t think that was Max. I think it was the actor from Jenny's movie who is playing her boyfriend.

Paris Hilton - yuck!!

What would be great to see on the show is more diversity of body types and gender expressions. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and haven't seen a single person who looks like any of the lesbians (board won't let me use the d y k e word) I socialize with here. I'd love to see some true big butches some boi's, some leather lesbians (those actually in the lifestyle, not just like the fashion), women who weigh more than 100lbs and some working class women who don't wear designer clothes!

If i had to date any of the girls.........the closest i would come to actually being intrested in is Max. So of course you see the problem there. Now Shane, I would just have fun with.

I agree that they need to represent more women - more athletic (although not Dana skinny) boi types would be great.

Episode 8 is on ourchart!! Ok so I just got a chance to watch episode 7 and was lucky enough to watch 8 right after.

I know that everyone is rooting for Tina and Bette to get back together, but if I was Tina it would just show me that obviously Bette still can not maintain a relationship with out having someone on the side. This is the first season that I have actually liked Tina and I love Jody.

I also would like to see more non-la high fashion lesbians on the show. I actually caught the assistant as well! I wish that they would get some more famous lesbians to guest star...like say Sabrina Mathews and her very excellent velor shirt...:rotfl2:

Episode 8 is so far my favorite episode of the season!!! I will hold off saying more till more people have seen it.

The only bad thing is...I don't have Showtime:scared1: . So I have S1-S4 on DVD and have been reading up on S5 and catching what I can on YouTube.

I am glad I am not the only person who hates Jenny. What an insane individual!:scared: Lucky for me...since I can't see the show until it's on DVD, I just fast forward through the scenes she is in. :rolleyes1

That episode was amazing I have watched it 3 times now! The Alice/Colonel scenes were amazing. I will admit at first I was quite unsure about the fact that Tasha was going to win the trial because how often to GLBT service members not get kicked out once there has been an accusation. Granted I am sure it helps if you have someone like Alice as a friend and the lead prosecuter is a lesbian herself. So as much as I love to see Tasha in Dress and in her BDUs:worship: I am much happier seeing her be out and swinging Alice around the parking lot.

So last night's ep. was "eh..." = not the best, not the worst. I'm interested to see how My Lover Cindy works out on Jenny's set. I'm glad that maybe the two venues will learn to co-exist, but I'm sure that'll change.

Probably the most interesting of the ep. was Shane and the straight girl (Molly?) got together. Well, not the actual act, but hearing the conversation b/n Molly and Phyllis afterwards. Shane hearing that she's not the most intelligent girl in the world and Molly saying that she's "easy and uncomplicated". I figured that it was an odd compliment and Shane appeared to have taken it the wrong way and "the Other" thinks that it wasn't meant to be a compliment. We'll see. The clips from next week make it seem like Shane didn't take it too hard, but maybe that's how they meant to cut it.

The sex montage at the end was a little much. I get it I get it, EVERYone got it on. EVERYone. I know that fans wanted more in this season, but the writers seem to have gone a little overboard.

Oh...and the kiss between Adelle and Niki? Eeek! Yucky. I can see where the mistake could have been made since Adelle is just a bad photocopy of Jenny, but I feel bad for Niki for making that mistake. Hmm.. I haven't figured out Adelle's angle yet - she seems to be positioning herself to mess up everyone's lives, or ruin the movie, but she's just shady enough that I can't figure it out yet.

Anyone else's ideas?

I agree with you - Adele's sinister nature has been showing more and more.

Can I just say that I am so happy Max got laid?! That poor boy has been the only character who doesn't get it on, and he is finally getting some too. Yay!

Did anybody notice how sneaky the promos were, making it look like Jodi's sour face was reacting to Bette saying "I'm in love with Tina" - and then it turns out Bette said that with her back turned and the sour face was about something else?

I think I have said this before, but I don't want Bette and Tina to get back together, then they will get rid of Jodi! I used to want them back together, back when they first broke up, but now I wish they would actually get to see the therapist and he would smack some sense into them and tell Bette to stay with Jodi. I just know they're going to get rid of her!

Allo luvies!

Let me preface this by saying that I think Home Depot would do well to have a shoe aisle and maybe a little coffee cafe - then I would enjoy it as much as my DP, Deni; however, since HD and camping are in the same category for me - after watching last night's episode - I'm ready to to buy a tent - grab some marshmallows and head into the woods...excuse the thread's longest run-on sentence ever and I just can't seem to stop...somebody slap me....

On another note, Molly (Clementine) looks exactly like her mother when she was younger. I wonder how they handle being on the set together. Might have to google to see if they've done any interviews.

Adele is scaring me though...

I just saw on AOL that the L Word has been cancelled!

LOS ANGELES (March 10) - "The L Word" is set to take its final bow.

Showtime has renewed the lesbian drama for a sixth and final season, which will make it one of the premium network's longest-running series. Eight episodes have been ordered, targeted to go into production in early summer for an early 2009 premiere.

While past seasons generally have consisted of 12-13 episodes each, Showtime executives and series creator/executive producer Ilene Chaiken believed that eight additional episodes were creatively what was needed to wrap up the story lines.

"The L Word" follows a group of Los Angeles-based friends as they navigate careers, families, friendships, personal struggles and romantic relationships. The series became the first lesbian primetime drama on television when it debuted in January 2004. Its stars include Jennifer Beals and Mia Kirshner.

Chaiken, who created the series with Kathy Greenberg and Michele Abbott, said the show will live on, interactively.

"This is by no means the end of 'The L Word,"' she said. "The brand and the social network community, OurChart.com, will continue to live and be a destination for lesbians everywhere and a lasting tribute to what 'The L Word' has accomplished."

She added that fan input will play a part in wrapping up the series' story lines, noting the role that viewer input has played in the past.

"The L Word," which received a GLAAD Award for best drama series, also has a big following in virtual world Second Life and has spawned such branded products as perfume, jewelry and books. The Season 5 finale is set to air March 23.

This is sad news indeed.

I doubt this will happen, because I honestly don't know how many more story lines there are. I wish we could go back to the first few season with Dana, before the writers lost their mind (the first downfall of the show). I think 8 episodes will wrap things up nicely. I will be sad to see it go, but think that it should end before fans start hating it.

So here are the things that I would like to see before the series finale...

CARMEN...thats all that needs to be said about that.

OMG, I disagree on so many of these!

Tasha and Alice are ..... YAWN..... NO freaking chemistry. And until the last episode Tasha was borderline abusive with her hot and cold "it's not your fault, yes it is" routine. I was so over her and was hoping she'd be leaving the show when they broke up. I have to admit I'm sorry she's still around. And the chemistry is nothing compared to Alice and Dana. Or anyone else on the show for that matter.

As far as Shane being in a committed relationship -- it IS who she is, if she's whole and healthy. She's a wounded soul searching for healing. :hippie: Feel free to laugh, but I will be disappointed if she rides off into the sunset alone. She's not happy the way she is.

Bette and Tina are NOT "ho-hum!" They have the most sizzling chemistry on the show!!!

My personal fave hottie is Phyllis' lawyer. Phyllis doesn't deserve her, but they're cute together.

Isn't it funny how two people can watch the same show and walk away with such different opinions? :confused3 Our differences are what makes the world go 'round, I guess!!

Leisha was actually in a relationship with K.D. Lang a while ago. I know that she is no longer on the show but Kristanna Locken(the ex that burned down wax) is also out. I will agree though that the lawer(jane lynch) is a favorite of mine she was amazing in "Best in Show".

Thar she blows!

PMS-Fest.....so glad that gun never got used.

Very displeased with what I think is about to happen between Shane and Jenny. Very displeased with what I think is about to happen between Alice and Tasha. And thrilled that Bette is about to get totally screwed over! Go Jodi!

I agree re: Shane and Jenny. PLEASE say it isn't so!!!!! And where the heck did the straight girl go? And Shane and freaking JENNY!? I think I'm feeling ill.

But Alice and Tasha -- don't let the door hit Tasha in the butt on her way out. That girl is a cold fish! Bleah! No freaking personality, takes herself WAY too seriously, is always blaming Alice for her own issues, and there's no damn chemistry between them. Let the girl GO!!!!!!!

And Bette is being a weenie.

Did anyone else think that Adelle did a better job directing than Jenny? :scared1:

That whole Shane and Jenny thing has been simmering since the early days of the Carmen. Ahhhhh, the Carmen.

But there's no sizzle there!! They've done a convincing job of being great friends!! (in spite of Jenny being a psycho ***** -- likely because Shane's loyal to the tips of her hot toes). So seriously, Shane and JENNY?? :sad2:

If it's come to that, then maybe it's a good thing next season's the last season. I don't think I could stomach that on a weekly basis.

Um....I didn't feel bad for her. I thought it was wicked justice for the pushy over the top stuff that she had pulled earlier this season.

I agree. Shane and Jenny? Yuck!! I'd rather see Shane hook herself out to every other chick on the block than get with Psycho. I think that they're just good friends - loyal and care for each other, but that's it. Oh...and feel sorry for Jenny? Forgeddaboutit. She's messed others' lives up enough that her's deserves a little shake up.

How about the clothing designer and Alice? Nice. Well, you all saw the clips from next week, so looks like DVCajun might get what she's looking for - Tasha and Alice split up. I really like the actress that plays the designer anyway (Melanie Lynskey) - I loved her in Ever After.

Oh I wish they would have actually HAD Ivan back on the show. Him in drag...it was my favorite Season1 episode. I forgot that he owned half the Planet (well, actually 51%!) and I'm hoping that Bette'll buy out the SheBar chicks' half.

Oh...one last thing: Helena's back next episode. 'Nuff said.

Wow and the Crazy award goes too....I thought that there was no way anyone could surpass Jenny, but I was wrong. I agree with everyone else that there is no way that Shane can hook up with Jenny that's just....no.

What is Alice thinking! Granted the actress is great, I will forever remember her in But I'm a Cheerleader. But possibly cheating on Tasha and as we found out last week "kissing is cheating".

I am totally with you though Timon-N-Pumba I would be excited to see Dusty in next episode. If you need a fix she is the German Boxer in Million Dollar Baby (she had an article in Curve this month).

If Jody is leaving what does that mean for Thom and Max?

Jodi rocked my socks in the last episode. AND I watched it right before Marlee Matlin was on Dancing with the Stars, so I had major "warm fuzzies" the whole night! She is just soooo hot. But it looks like Jodi will be sticking around at least for the near future.

Tasha and Alice have never done a thing for me. I don't even get why they're together. I know "opposites attract" and all that, but I just don't see why they're a couple. *shrugs*

Adele definitely did a better job directing than Jenny!! I think Shane and Jenny might end up fooling around, but I think it will be because of certain intoxicants rather than because they're actually interested in each other. I think they're too good friends.

Now if Max and Tom would just get a little more screen time together! I love that Max is getting laid. :)

So what did everyone think about the finale?

Jodi's performance piece? Wow...looks like Bette totally had what was coming to her. I loved it. I liked how smug Jodi looked after Bette mentioned how great it was to have Jodi in her life...

How about Jenny/Niki/Shane/Molly? Whew... Well, I like it that Shane left Molly - she is a player and even though the thought that she might like Molly, I think it was best to leave her to school and growing up a little. I think it was lame that Shane got together with Niki - seems like Shane was just trying to prove to herself that she didn't belong to anyone, and Niki just seems a little loose to me anyways. I think Jenny was taking the relationship with Niki way more seriously than Niki was - and possibly her relationship with Shane also. It was sort of weird, the tension between Shane and Jenny. Was Jenny interested in Shane "I have to tell Niki I fell in love with someone" or was is just that Shane was with her girlfriend? Oh the confusion...

Bette and Tina are SOOOO boring to me. Yay...they're finally back together..wooo.... whatever.

Tasha and Alice: you saw that coming, but I hate it that Alice can't just settle with someone who seems so good for her. I guess Tasha isn't good for her though, if Alice's eyes have been wandering elsewhere.

Next season: will Jenny admit that she's had a thing for Shane? Hopefully that doesn't go anywhere - yuckersons. Will the movie have a straight ending? Yes, 'cause that'd be original. Tasha and Alice will break up because of Alice's wandering eyes (that, and Tasha was kind of flirting it up w/ that random girl at the bar, also). Bette and Tina will probably be the couple most of the Community has always wanted them to be - forever cemented together at the hips with ANOTHER baby. Jeez.

I've been waiting for a good season since mid season two - maybe the final season will make up for it?

Oh, on a side note, Uh Huh Her (Leisha Hailey's band) might be touring with Tegan and Sara after season six wraps. We're headed to see T&S in April, but with UHH maybe touring with them later, it'd be YET ANOTHER reason to see them again. :thumbsup2

I liked it - watched it twice like I usually do.

I thought it was heartbreaking that Shane had to go and prove Phyllis right, "even your friends say you're bad news." Whatever we think of Jenny, it was a slutty thing to do. Shane could have scored with anyone at that party, but she had to pick the one woman that would prove how self destructive she is - which goes to my point in an earlier post that Shane at the end of next season should not be married off. She's like her Dad, for good and ill. It's who she is. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, which, again, is what Phyllis meant by her quote, the past is prologue.

As for Adele OMG I can't wait for her fall.

Loved having Helena back - she is sooooooo fun, brings a breath of fresh air to every scene she's in.

And as for Alice I don't believe the whole story line, just two episodes ago she and Tania were having hot sex at 6 PM and now there's trouble because Tania has some adjustment to do to with respect to civilian life? Yuck. Plus I don't like her with the new woman - I like the new woman, she'd be great with Shane, but not Alice.

Finally, I thought Jodie's revenge was hateful and proved Bette's point that they don't share the same core values - of course Jodie also pointed out that Bette, like all of us, fails to live to her highest standards. Still, I thought the piece itself was way cool :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

...still thought the writing could have been much better.
Some of the characters never developed. The whole Max story line
just ended. Why???
I thought the Shane character was just plain skank-girl. Her looks and actions just a total turn off for me. GROSS. That character made my skin crawl!
I agree with Bette and Tina being a big snore fest.
I actually enjoyed How Jody's character burned Bette! Now that was good! Bette totally deserved that!!
The Alice-Tasha thing,NO SPARKS there at all!
I watched every week. Sometimes, asking myself why? It really was poorly written with plots not believeable. What made me tune in? I think the answer is that the L Word was all that was available that I could remotely relate to my life. That's sad in the year 2008,don't ya think???
Can't wait for next year's L Word, cuz what else is there????
