Taking our second trip to DL 3/2-3/8 and staying at HOJO's Anaheim Plaza. HUGE thanks to DangerMouse and Lorealle for helping us decide on our room. :worship:
We were able to use the Entertainment rate so we scored on a room at $59/night. Really looking forward to staying there after reading all the great reviews.

This is going to be a surprise trip for my son. I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to pull it off but I'm giving it my best. I think I might tell him a few days before, maybe a week just so he can still participate in part of the planning.
If anyone has any good ideas on how to pull off the surprise I'm all ears. :earsboy:

So we have a rough schedule to go by so far....

Arrive Sunday by 9am. Check in at our hotel and have them hold our luggage IF our room isn't ready since check in is not till 3pm.
Head over to the park for lunch.
We decided to do 6 days so we could do both the Electrical light parade AND the fireworks. First I was thinking ELP on Sunday...but now I'm thinking maybe we should do fireworks since they could be cancelled friday due to winds (you never know) and I'd hate to miss out on them. We'll see, we're still up in the air about that.

Monday we're having breakfast with Minnie and Friends @ the Plaza. VERY excited about this!!!

Tuesday EE day....figuring we should try for Nemo first then on Thurs 2nd EE day head for FL??
Tuesday lunch we'll be eating at the Carnation Cafe. My son will love the Peanut Butter pallette.
Wednesday we're having lunch at the Blue Bayou. I think maybe we should try splitting lunches so we'll have room for dessert this time. pirate:
Thursday is our second EE day....so hit FL first PP, then Dumbo!!

So this is the start to my 2nd official trip report. I'll be updating all our planning, more less so I can keep track of all the many thoughts running through my head.
I just dream for many many signs to be like this one!!!

Not tooooo excited are you? Remember when we were doing this for Hawaii about 7 years ago. How times have changed for us both, we have moved from Paradise to Magical and I LOVE it. I suppose it would be early for me to start my pre-trip report so I will live through you again for a couple months, lol.

heheh Early?? Never too early. I figured if I didn't find someplace to sort all my Disney chaos I'd lose it all. One year though we need to plan this at the same time! And I'm all for DIsney OR Hawaii again!:cheer2:

Your son's face is so great in the Buzz picture, it says it all.

Also just wanted to gently remind you about Hydorguy's fireworks rule. If you can't miss them, then do them first. We would have missed the parade had I not followed this rule.

Congrats on the trip and good luck keeping the suprise.

I agree, if it weren't for Hydroguy's tips I probably would have missed out on a lot of things.
Thank you for the nice comment about the Buzz picture, that picture really just sums up the excitement he had the whole trip. That was taken our last day and BOY was he happy he finally got to meet Buzz. :)

51 Days and counting!!!!!!!!!!!

I decided on how I'm going to tell Ayden the week before we go. I have someone sending a Minnie Mouse postcard inviting him to breakfast with her and her friends. I also got him a new Disney suitcase for him to take as his carry on for the flight. We'll make another chain countdown like last year (HE LOVED THIS). This way he can have the excitement leading up to the trip as well. Honestly though we're talking openly about it...but just using the term the next time we go to Disneyland. Little does he know it's in less than two months!

My ex sister in law and her family will be going now the same week we are so that will be fun. Ayden will love being able to go on rides with his cousin. :)

Have you considered watching ELP and then head directly over to watch the fireworks? I always do this. In theory you could also catch Fantasmic as well, but that is one heck of a long night.

I would love to know what your trick is to do both. I've read some great tips but just curious what you do as well to make this work. I'm just afraid if we don't catch the fireworks on Sunday night...there's a good chance they might be cancelled due to winds come Friday night. Either way....we'll definitely be doing fantasmic on Friday night and need to make that mad rush over from DCA if we do ELP on Friday night. ANY and all advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. :thumbsup2

27 days and counting!!!!!!
Right now I just pray for good weather, good health and ok the dream team to cross our path at least once. I'm getting REALLY excited about our trip and even more excited to tell Ayden that we're really going. Can you believe I still haven't told him yet? :cool1:
I will tell him about a week before......if I can hold out that long.
SO Chris bought me the Hidden Mickey book last week...I haven't been able to put it down since. The stuff in there is just amazing. I definitely have some Mickey's I'll be on the hunt for.
Right now though......I think I'm most excited to go on Pirates again. There's just something about that ride for Ayden and Chris and I. :lovestruc I just love it.....and I love them!

SO THE FINAL REVEAL...........
I told Ayden on Saturday about the trip. He opened up a package that had a new Mickey suitcase in it....along with some new shirts, his postcard from Minnie Mouse, Disney Dollars and a countdown chain. I knew the countdown chain would definitely give it away. He was very happy!!!!
Here are some pictures.

Kelly is excited to ride Casey Jr.'s Pappa aka Thunder Mountain. She rode Thunder and Splash last year. She likes to practice going down the "big slide" of Splash so we have to practice and yell "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" all the way down and then I pretend to splash water on her. I think she is a little bit more apprehensive about it but really wants to do so that is why she wants to practice. She cracks me up.

That is too bad that your sister will be there just a couple weeks after you guys, what timing that was. Sorry to hear that. princess:

You pushed me to page 2..yay! And we still have 16 days before the trip! :rotfl: I'm kinda worried about Ayden "seeing" too much of the hill while in line. Since it was closed last year for us can you or someone refresh my memory. Is part of the que for splash "watching" the logs come down the hill? :scared1: I might really have to do some distracting if it is. He's watched it on youtube and I've told him it's just like Pirates except it's outside. Keeping my fingers crossed he'll fall for it.:rolleyes1

It is the big drop that people can view. Just have him look the other way by distracting his attention towards the fruit cart or something, lol. You can sit in the very back with him, that is what I did with Kelly. I told her everything that is inside, the bear, the singing birds, the bunnies and so on. That is the part she is looking forward too. Same with Thunder Mountain, she wants to see all the animals. She is somewhat of a dare devil though. And she always wants the ride to spin. She would stay on the Tea Cups all day if she could.

Oh poor Ayden didn't even get to do the teacups last year because his ol mom can't handle those kinds of things. Did you read my blog about the ride I took him on a few weeks ago? I was pretty much sick the rest of the day. I may get Chris to take him on the teacups this time around. I wish he'd do thunder mountain...I don't think I could get him to do it though. I think Space Mountain is smoother than BTMRR. TWO WEEKS LEFT!!!!:scared1:

I won't put Kelly on Space Mountain, I think it goes to fast and I cannot see her while riding, that makes me nervous. Have Ayden come with us, we get that cup spinning pretty good. I LOVE it.:cloud9:

Maybe on your last day upgrade your tickets to an annual pass. I would if you even think you may go back again within a year. And since I already have a room in May you could have a free trip, you can crash :rotfl: We can leave the boys with the kids and take off on our own for a while.

Oh my goodness the fun we could have!
We were really thinking about another trip though with that extra tax money that's coming. We were thinking about a Xmas time trip. I keep going back and forth though about that or for Ayden and I to visit my sister in Seattle.
Disneyland vs. Seattle...tough decision huh? lol

I'm going to get some packing done tonight. I'm SO very excited for some warmer weather. It's been cold and rainy here for so long, I feel like I have live in Seattle or something. Weather looks great for us next week....low 70's!

We got our photopass ordered, groceries ordered from Albertsons, reservations confirmed.....we're set.

3 more days of work and I'm ready for Disneyland!

We're home....I'd give anything to be sitting on Main Street at the Carnation Cafe eating Oscars breakfast scramble. We had so much fun and I have some great moments to share.

Our flight left from Sacramento just a few minutes before 8. We grabbed breakfast at the airport. Here's Ayden with two of his cousins that went with us. Lilly is 2 and Justin is 7. And Ayden and I waiting to board our plane.

Very short flight....gotta love that! Once we arrived at John Wayne we got our luggage and headed out to meet the Disneyland Express bus. It was there within 3 minutes. :cool1: About 6 other families were on the same bus. THe driver informs us the route he'll take...Disneyland Hotel, Grand Californian and Paradise Pier first. Then us (rinky dinks) as I called it. He said it was just the best route to take. I believed him for a minute...until we were driving past HOJO's and there was us and one other family staying there. Something about the onsite hotels being delivered first was more than just coincidence to me. Oh well...no biggie we're still in Disneyland. It went really quick though dropping people off.

Got to HOJO's and our room wasn't ready yet. We weren't expecting it to since check in is not till 3 anyway. They stored our bags for us and off we went to the park. The walk really isn't that bad. I'd say 6-7 minutes at most. DangerMouse is right...crossing at Manchester is better than stirring in with the crowds down the strip. We did though on the way back cross at the main crosswalk.

Yay we get our tickets!!!!
We did run into a little snag with our tickets. This is what I posted about it on the boards already.
we ordered our tickets through getawaytoday.com. No problem getting our tickets but as we were still at the window (thank goodness) I noticed on my ticket and my boyfriends ticket it said ONE magic morning when my sons said 2 magic mornings. We were ALL supposed to have two obviously. The guy at the ticket counter could not reprint our tickets, he actually had to print out a NEW magic morning ticket for my BF and myself. Same exact thing happened to my sister in law with her adult tickets too. Just something to check as you're picking up your tickets.
Can you tell we're happy to be there???http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/PrideJoyLove/DISNEYLAND%202008/IMG_6668.jpg

We got into the park around 11:30. First stop ...buzz lightyear!! http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/PrideJoyLove/DISNEYLAND%202008/IMG_6669.jpg

After that we were starving for lunch so we headed to pizza port. Last year I had the pizza ...it was ok. This year I wanted to try the Chicken Fusilli everyone on here raves about. I have to admit I was in heaven. It was soooooooooooo yummy. Chris and I shared the pasta and the caesar salad which was wonderful! Ayden got the kids mini pizza that we had to wait 10 minutes for since they didn't have any fresh ones. THat was a real pita when you look at rows of pizza slices but the kids pizzas are baked a few at a time.
That's all for now....but check back often. I have a lot to share and LOTS of pictures!

That is great that you had a short flight! I hate flying so the shorter the flight, the happier I am. :) Ayden is a lucky boy to have some cousins along for the ride!

Too bad about your tickets getting mixed up...but I am glad it was taken care of. I am looking into using GAT if we don't renew our AP's. I have heard a lot of great things...your situation sounds like it is just one of those things that happens. Would you use them again?

I am looking forward to reading more!popcorn::

Yes kingshockey04 it really is a short walk. 7 minutes tops! I'll admit it was a little tough at night when you just wanted a really quick walk to the hotel, but seriously for the space and nice service at the HOJO's it was worth it. I followed the advice of another dis'er and crossing at Manchester does save you the foot traffic from the main crosswalk. At night though....we liked being where there was more people just because we felt safer. We would definitely stay there again.

daisy_77, I would definitely use GAT again....not sure what happened with our tickets but they quickly fixed it. I wouldn't say it was GAT's mistake...I think it was a DLR mistake when the tickets were printed. They were so helpful and easy to deal with at GAT with that alone I'd use them again.

So day one was fairly busy....figured it would be considering it was a Sunday. It was very windy and I had a bad feeling about fireworks that night. And yes, they were cancelled. We did our ol favorites...pirates and Haunted Mansion then a few rides in Fantasyland before heading back to our room at 3 to check in and wait for our groceries to be delivered from Albertsons. They were supposed to be delivered between 3:30-5...and showed up around 5:30. The front desk called and said they'd bring them to the room. A very nice guy was at our door within minutes. Talk about great service!! :thumbsup2

Here's a few from HM..can you tell Ayden was excited to go on it?
And of course..the Disney Suite above pirates.

So more about HOJO's. Love Love LOVED it! The service was wonderful....the room was very clean, very spacious and quiet. There was a note in our room about the pool remodel stating that work was done m-f from 10-5. We saw them out there...but never heard them. We were in bldg 2 botton floor room 2107. We did occasionally hear the freeway at night......but honestly you I didn't realize it was the freeway until the last night. It was not disturbing in the least bit and I DESPISE traffic noise when I'm trying to go to sleep.
Here's a few pictures of our room that I did get...and the garden pool, or cement hole :)http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/PrideJoyLove/DISNEYLAND%202008/IMG_6922.jpg

We took a nap when we got back to our room knowing we'd be closing the park down that night. Like I said...fireworks were cancelled, I was pretty dissapointed considering we were hoping to see fireworks sunday and DEP and RDCT on Friday. Anyway..it all worked out in the end but I'll post more about that later. In the meantime...here's a few more misc pictures from Monday.

Memories from the Country Bears inside the Pooh ride. Yea yea flash photography but nobody was on the ride but us!http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/PrideJoyLove/DISNEYLAND%202008/IMG_6694.jpg

This one was for my dad...a lot of family memories were made here

So they didn't let us in...but I did get a peek in the door when they let a crowd of about 12 people inside. Didn't see much
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/PrideJoyLove/DISNEYLAND%202008/IMG_6709.jpg

Just a little big of pixie dust. This was the first time I had seen this. I didnt' think I'd like it at first by the pictures and videos from youtube I had seen. But really...I loved it. Just a little touch of Disney magic!http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/PrideJoyLove/DISNEYLAND%202008/IMG_6725.jpg

And last but not least for day one.... two places I love seeing at night.http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/PrideJoyLove/DISNEYLAND%202008/IMG_6722.jpg

Day two...character breakfast at Plaza Inn with Minnie and Friends..WONDERFUL...and Toontown fun!
One more thing i forgot to mention....I pretty much became obsessed with Hidden Mickeys on this trip. Chris had bought me the book a few weeks before we went. I kept it in my backpack and checked it out while standing in lines...we found so many and I gotta say it was really fun.
I think my favorites were the ones in Pirates.
Here's a couple we found.http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i236/PrideJoyLove/DISNEYLAND%202008/IMG_6823.jpg

Is there a certain time in the evening when the Mickey face lights up? I would love to see that and get it on video! You got a great shot of it!:goodvibes

We are staying at Hojo's on our next trip...I am so glad to hear you liked it! Actually...it seems like most disers who have stayed there love it!

I am looking forward to more!popcorn::

The tinkerbell spreads her magic all day and all night long. I got a great video of it as well. It really is neat.

I am SO glad we stayed at HOJO's. I loved everything about it. I would reccommend it to anyone visiting DL. I will keep updating soon. I promise :)

So we closed the park down on our first night. Park didn't open until 10 on Monday but our PS for Plaza Inn was at 9:30. I was told when I made the PS that there would be a sign out at the gate letting us know where to be for the breakfast. So that didn't appear until closer to 9:40 but we asked around and found out what line we were to be in. It was pretty unorganized. THe line grew quickly at gate 5. We were told we'd be lead back to the Plaza inn for the Minnie and Friends breakfast. Then we see the other gates open and the crowds just swarm inside on Main Street. Our gate finally opens and we are told to stand at the side while they check everyone in. Now it's 9:45. Finally about 5 minutes later we're told to follow this little old lady. Seriously through the crowds on Main street they expected us all to stick together???? :confused3 Somehow we made it...but I know many in the group got lost along the way. She lead us through the shops on the left side of Main Street and through the Photo shop on the corner. Within minutes they had the rope drop. Later in the week we did see that people for the breakfast were let in before the crowd....what a great idea!! :thumbsup2 DUH!

I'm SOOOOOOOOOO glad we were in the first group to be seated. The lines grew quickly for the omelettes. I actually never got one but my DBF Chris did. Food was quite tasty! The oj ....wonderful! How weird is that to rave about the orange juice?? But it was probably some of the best OJ I've had. But then again everything fruit wise tastes better at DLR. There were some muffins too that were really good.....wish I could remember what kind they were.

Here's some of our half eaten breakfast....oh the taters were great too!

Last year we did Goofy's Kitchen...yes Goofy did some fun entertainment....but I liked Plaza Inn MUCH better! The interaction with the characters was so much nicer. They spent much more time at each table with the kids. We saw the Fairy Godmother, Tigger, Eyeore, Pooh, Captain Hook, Chip and Dale and of course Minnie. My son got in a balloon fight with Tigger...that tigger I tell ya what a troublemaker! :lmao: He kept bopping my son on the head with a balloon and finally my son bopped him back. Then it started!!! They were just all over each other. It was really funny! Tigger kept leaning over Ayden's head and making such a funny noise like he was kissing his head? Ok maybe it was a kiss? Anyway....then he walked over to CHris and started beating him with the balloon. I have just never seen a Tigger so "interactive" with people before.
So Plaza Inn gets a big :thumbsup2 from me! We had a lot of fun and will definitely go back.

Quick story....last year before going to DLR my son watched the Sing Along Song video over and over. He always loved seeing the video where Minnie hugs the little boy. Last year he kept saying he just wanted to hug Minne when we went to DIsneyland. Well he got that hug.....BUT we missed getting a picture of it. I was so sad....anyway I'd say the picture this year made up for it. She hugged him lots of times but the picture I'm posting here is my favorite!

I went to the breakfast that day also and I agree it was very unorganized. I had no clue where to meet at, luckily I saw that CM leading the group and asked someone if that was for Minnie's Breakfast. Funny thing, I see my sister's pink ear hat in two of your pictures :rotfl: .

Wow, awesome pics from Minnie's Breakfast! I think you've talked me into trying it . . . and I HATE character meals (well, with the exception of Storyteller's, but we don't do that one for the characters. It's all about the banana stuffed french toast, Baby!);)

I normally can't stand the thought of wasting valuable early morning park time on a character meal, but all those pics with the characters are just darling, and it sounds like the food was awesome, too! And, hey, if you are actually seated and eating before the park opens, I might be willing to give it a shot. :thumbsup2

I definitely say give it a try! The interaction with the characters is so much better than standing in line for 10 minutes only to get 30 seconds next to them for a quick picture. They really take their time in the restaurant. At least they did at Plaza Inn. Goofy's Kitchen they just moved right along. It was also a pain being that far from the park and not even getting into the park until after 10 then. It was much nicer being in the park already and leaving the breakfast and being in Toontown 10 minutes later. :)

What a nice switcharoo though DM...usually you're the one persuading me into things! The hotel, the great DEP, RDCT, and Fantasmic accomplishment! It's peer pressure!

Sorry there's been a delay in my TR. Lots going on at home healthwise.

Anyway....on with the show....

Monday after breakfast at Plaza Inn we decided to head to ToonTown before it got too warm. Highly suggest this since there's not much shade there. Last year we didn't spend much time there because it was so hot due to waiting so late in the day.
I can't do the spinning kind of rides so Chris took Ayden on Roger Rabbit...he came out giggling so I guess that meant he liked it.
We played around Toontown....opening, pulling and pushing all the fun things there.
Ayden still didn't like the door you try to open that makes the electrical noise...he hated that last year too. :lmao:

We ran into Goofy, Minnie and went to see Mickey in his house. Next year I will defitnitely be sure to get pics with Mickey outside of his "movie barn" since the pictures dont' seem to come out that bright in his barn. Just my opinion. And the darn red eye...had that last year too :(

Ayden was hesitant to ride the Gadget Go Coaster. Funny because he loves the Matterhorn. I think it's because when you actually see the Matterhorn it's not going that fast...as for the Gadget Go Coaster...that little thing does get going. Anyway...he rode and LOVED it..so we did it again!
We found a hidden Mickey while in line...oh and can you find us??

I'm not sure if anyone is even reading my report still....there have been some time that passes between when I'm able to update but I'm doing the best I can.

Soooo....after Toontown on day one we headed over to CA for awhile. Still not a huge fan of the park just because of the layout...but still fun in it's own little way. I have mentioned a little bit I've had some health issues going on so I really didn't ride all the rides like I did last year. So this year I missed Space Mountain, Screamin, Splash Mountain, Grizzly Rapids. Luckily DBF Chris still took Ayden on some that I would have skipped anyway like teacups and things in bugs land. Yes Bugs Land...I can't do any spinny things or things that go around and around in circles. I even hate carousels.:sad1:

Chris took full advantage of the single rider line at CA. He went on it three times in a row....and was done within about 20 minutes. My son had a blast watching the take off. Can you spot Chris in the one without Ayden in it?

After talk on the boards about the bug show my curiosity got the best of me so we went to check it out. I knew of some of the little effects that were going to happen...my son though it was hilarious. He carries a bug catcher around all summer anyway so he has no fear of bugs unfortunately. I thought it was a cute funny show....the audience reaction made it all worth it!

Here's us with our bug glasses and my favorite sign of the day.

We also did Turtle Talk with Crush...LOVE this! So when Crush asked if any kids in the audience if they had questions Aydens hand shot straight up in the air..I though uh oh....what could he think of asking. The cast member went to a little girl who said "I'm from Texas"....I can't remember what Crush's response was but...it was hilarious....just not a question and it was so appropriate for the age LOL
Next the cast member came to my son........ ready for his comment??
"I like trains"........yep...that's my son. He did though ask Crush what turtles eat which was pretty cute and I thought a great question from a 4 year old :)

Next to come....end of day one in Disneyland...Dinner at Rainforest

Our wait wasn't long at all since someone was turning in their reservation when we were checking in. I jokingly told the guy at the front desk, "we'll take it"...he smiled and said great...right this way. :)

We were really thinking about another trip though with that extra tax money that's coming. We were thinking about a Xmas time trip. I keep going back and forth though about that or for Ayden and I to visit my sister in Seattle.
Disneyland vs. Seattle...tough decision huh? lol

I'm in Seattle right now and I must say: Disneyland!!! Maybe it's because I live here...

Aw, Seattle's fun, too. Just not in the same way. Gorgeous, most definitely.

I can't wait to see the pix from Pirates Lair.

How tall is Ayden at home? (obviously he's a tall kid!) Did you notice the measuring stick at Jumpin Jellyfish was "off" at all? I've heard bad things about it measuring kids shorter than they are, and I really want Eamon to go on it in May...

How do you like Sacramento? DH family lives in Elk Grove/Galt-area. I am not sure if you know where that is. We are both in school right now and when we are done we plan on moving out that way to be near family.

YAY...so all of you ARE still reading!!! That makes me happy!

Molly...as for Ayden..he's just shy of 44inches. I didn't take him on the jellyfish, my bf did. They actually didn't even stop him though to actually measure him so I didn't see if it was off at all. He sure loved the ride though.
Things like that just make me feel queasy the rest of the day. I love Thunder Mountain and Matterhorn...but things like teacups, jellyfish and those nasty ladybugs at DCA just really do me in.

Daisy....I was born and raised in Sacramento so I definitely know where Elk Grove/Galt area is. It's not far from me at all, about 25-30 mins south, depending on traffic. I love it here....two hours north and you're in the mountains, less than two hours from the Ocean in san Fran. I don't see myself moving anytime soon....at least not with my parents still here. Where are you going to school now?

Ok MORE tr coming soon, off to photobucket to add some more pics :):woohoo:

So I think I might have some days off...but I certainly didn't forget what we did. Guess that's what happens when you don't do your whole trip report right when you get home. :confused3
I was trying to go by the order of my pictures...but then I noticed that we're wearing different clothes in some so it can't be the same day...oh well.

So Tuesday was our first Magic Morning. We arrived about 20 minutes before the gates opened. The lines were VERY intimidating. But once inside it wasn't bad at all. I never got the whole cattle run at rope drop. It seemed kinda dangerous to me. We made it though to rope drop and took off like all the other crazy people. It was so fun to just skip through the hub and be like the second family through the castle. We were on the second pirate ship on Peter Pan. How FUN! I think we did every ride in Fantasyland and the Matterhorn within 30 minutes! We were in the first Storybook boat too when they opened up at 10. I swear that's the slowest moving line in the park! bah!

Here's just some fun pics...
I love the Dapper Dans..
I also love the driver of this old car. He reminds me so much of my grandpa. This picture just made me smile.

We had an early lunch at Carnation Cafe this day. Reservations were for 11:50. I couldn't wait to try the loaded baked potato soup. It was everything and MORE than I imagined. I HIGHLY reccommend trying it. We got the turkey sandwich and soup. If you get the bowl it's $2 more. I was dumb and just got the cup. Chris did the bowl and man I wanted some of his. Ayden LOVED the peanut butter pallette. Although we were close to done by the time he finished making his. After a few bites he had to pull off the marshmellows. Can't say I blame him. We all shared the Matterhorn Sundae afterwards. It was DELICIOUS too. Oscar the chef made his rounds talking to guests. He is such a nice guy. We complimented him on the soup and he brought out the recipe to us and signed it. Chris keeps saying he's going to make it....I might make it back to DLR before that happens though. ANyway...definitely have the soup if your going to DLR anytime soon.

So as a kid I really didn't care to go to "Tom Sawyers Island". I was REALLY excited though to see the new Pirates Lair. They were still working on it last year when we were there. Ayden is really into pirates so I knew he'd have a blast. We headed over about an hour before Captain Jack was to be there so we would be sure to get pics with him this year since we didnt' last year.
I asked the raft driver about a map of the island, he said they didn't do those anymore. I was really dissapointed. Ayden's room is done in pirates so I was hoping to get one for his room but oh well. I think he was actually the rudest cast member we encountered the entire trip. He was just negative and so unfriendly towards everyone on the raft. When someone asked what time Captain Jack would be on the island he said he's on a break he'll be here soon. Chris commented on how out of character he was........he should have said Captain Jack was off drinking rum!
LOVED Molly's tips about the interactive stuff on the island. It was really a lot of fun. I won't spoil the surprises but be sure to try everything. :)
Take some time to really watch the pirate that seems to be in jail........he obviously has been there for awhile. Total Disney effect at it's best!
Ayden had a lot of fun just exploring the island. We just let him lead the way and followed him along. I like what they had done. I think it would be nice if there were other pirates on the island though...just "more" to do would be nice.
We decided to head back on the raft before Captain Jack came to the island. Just in time for the raft to not start! Two of the rafts wouldn't start so we were stuck on the island. It was NOT fun. We were first in line waiting and mr happy cast member was so rude once again about it not starting. I mean no big deal...it happens but he just wouldn't even speak up about what was going on. He just said "I don't know what the deal is". Just so not Disney like.
So Captain Jack wasnt coming anytime soon..he had no way to get to the Island. We saw him with other guests though by POC. Finally we got to head back........Here are some pictures though of our time on Pirates lair.

I love your CA adventure pictures, very cute!!! Also we shared the banana's foster at the Rain Forest too, and it was so yummy!!! I was so thankful there were three of us eating it though, I never would have been able to finish it myself, but we will for sure be hitting the Rain Forest Cafe again, we ate there twice on this trip and loved it, I had been before but my one friend never had and she loved it.

Also love your Carnation Cafe pictures, we were suppose to eat there this trip and didn't make it, so it is a must for the trip in Dec. But the food looks amazing and sounds yummy.:goodvibes

Carnation Cafe I think was my favorite place to eat....taste wise. Everything is just so good!! Rainforest Cafe is pretty much a must do because Ayden loves to eat there. As big at their menu is...I always have a hard time deciding what to eat. Next time though....the wrap! Oh and the bananna foster again :)

Thanks for asking! I am attending University of Phoenix. I am almost done...one more year to go. Then I am finishing up at Boise State. My DH doesn't graduate for about 4 more years...he just recently went back to school.

We love Sacramento! We spent a day shopping there during Spring Break. We love Arden Fair Mall. I love the Sweet Factory---got me some chocolate covered gummy bears.:cloud9:

Great updates!
That potato soup looks soooo good! I will have to try that the next time we go. :thumbsup2

I love the first pic of your, DB, and Ayden by the castle. You all look so happy.:goodvibes

I love DL but I have noticed that some of the CMs need an attitude adjustment or maybe find another place to work.:headache: The past 2 trips we have gone on I noticed that there were some unhappy CMs. If they would just smile they will see it can really make their day better (and ours).

So yesterday I finally got our photopass cd. I will be posting the pictures VERy soon! I've been trying to get things organized at the house so we can have a smooth move in two weeks. Not sure that's possible but I'm giving it my best.
My sister and her family were at DLR last week...they said it was very busy. HA on them for not going with us again this year. I think March is our favorite time to go because of the crowd level.
I'll be back soon to finish my TR, I promise.

With all the health issues going on in my house and we're moving a week from today I haven't had much time to really be on the computer.
I did though want to post some of our photopass pics!

Great pictures!

Although my mom wouldn't have taken a family vacation with her ex in-laws, all of her former siblings in-law definitely took her side, and especially one uncle's family in particular took us in whenever my mom needed it. :) So it's not so weird (though I never thought of Uncle Michael as being my mom's ex BIL until now!!).

Looks like Lily Grace is teething a back tooth there in that last pic. :goodvibes

Your guy is quite the gentleman, taking off his cap for those smoochy pictures with you. Nice!
