I have been going to Disney since I was about 3. We had annual passes for 2 years in a row when I was in middle school, and I've been obsessed just like my parents raised me. I love everything about it. I've stayed many places, although Ft. Wilderness will always have a special place in my heart. It's the first place I really remember staying, and my parents love it. The first place I ever stayed was the Buena Vista Palace though, way back in 1985, and I hardly remember it. My dream though, has always been Wilderness Lodge, as long as I can remember. So, this was the only place I could imagine spending my honeymoon :cloud9:

DH, Andy-age 24, works as a Network Administrator. Had never been to Disney, and was super excited to be going for our honeymoon. Well, back in May, we were planning to go to St. Augustine with my parents for Mother's Day. But after hearing us go on and on about going to Disney, my mom's love got the better of her, and she decided we'd be going there instead of St. Augustine, as long as that was ok with us. And it was, of course. We stayed at Ft. Wilderness, Saturday to Wednesday. We only went to MK, MGM and Epcot, and it was very rushed. So DH's first trip came early, but I was glad. Even though it wasn't our honeymoon, it was good, because he got to see alot, which let us relax more on our honeymoon w/out having to worry about missing alot.

SO, that brings us to the trip. We left Monday, December 10th, 2 days after our wedding. And stayed until the next Monday, December 17th. We drove straight there on the way down, and then the following week we stayed overnight in St. Augustine on the way back. Just to break up the trip of course. It was my first real trip w/out my parents at Disney, and my first trip alone with my DH. Year of a Million Dreams indeed.

And it begins....

Saturday night after the wedding we spent the night at the B&B where our reception was held. My parents had paid for the room for us to get ready in before the wedding, and so we'd all have a place to leave our stuff. AND we did some bridal portraits and pictures there before the wedding as well. Anyway, as much as we didn't really want to stay there all night, we decided heck, free room, might as well. Then Sunday morning we got up and got ready, they brought us breakfast in bed, which was super nice. Then headed over to my parent's house that afternoon to open the rest of our wedding gifts. All of my family was still there, and DH's parents and brother came over as well. We had a great time, just relaxing and spending time with everyone before we left. We were both so full of excitement, from the wedding and knowing we had the whole week at Disney ahead of us! We left around 5 or so, and rushed home to finish packing and get ready to get to bed. We wanted to leave EARLY the next morning. It's about an 8 hour drive from here, and I wanted to be there already! We were like the kids in the commercial, too excited to sleep, but finally around 10 or so we both drifted off to sleep, full of anticipation for the week ahead.

The alarm went off around 4:45 am, and for the first time probably ever, I jumped out of bed and hit the shower. I was READY TO GO!!! I got myself ready, and got DH up, and he showered and finished loading up the car. We were pulling out of our driveway at 6 am on the dot! One stop at the gas station for lots of soda and we were off!!

We were making great time, we made it to I-95 in record time less than 2 hours, at Yemassee, SC. We stopped for the first time there, right before we got on the interstate. From there it seemed like we were time traveling. I got an XM radio for my car for my birthday in November, and boy was it nice! I played with it pretty much the whole way, and it kept us very well entertained. I forgot to mention what my car looked like on the way down...thanks to my bridesmaids, they did it while I was getting my hair done Saturday.

We got lots of honks, and thumbs up from passing cars. Very fun. We were in such good spirits, and in the best moods. It was a beautiful day, and we were on the way to Disney. Nothing can beat that. We got to the Florida line in what seemed like NO time. We stopped again near Daytona, at one of those little roadside stands that sells fruit and tacky souvenirs. I really just wanted DH to experience that. We also filled up on gas again, and were on our way! Before we knew it, we were going through downtown Orlando. We had made awesome time, just a little over 7 hours and we were there. And soon coming up on DISNEY! I admit, this was mean, but I was so excited, and had to take a picture and send it to my mom, to make her jealous. She's as big a Disney nut as I am, so I took this on my camera phone, so thus the bad quality.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/sign.jpg

I started bouncing up and down in my seat as we went under the sign, and I started seeing Disney buses and signs for everything. Seriously, nothing can beat that feeling, just getting there, and wanting to just get out and do everything at once. I LIVE for that feeling. I can remember how ecstatic I was.

Soon we were pulling into the Wilderness Lodge. I was seriously, about to burst out of my seat. I took another picture to send to my mom, just to be nice, of course.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/wl.jpg

We pulled up under the big awning, and I was just more excited than words can say. The sky was blue and sunny, and I had not a care in the world. The valet guy unload our car, and then DH decided to save the money and just park the car himself. I went in and checked in, pretty much dancing the whole way there.

Check in was a breeze, and the lady helping me immediately gave me 2 of the Just Married pins. I think it really started sinking in then, that I was married, and on my honeymoon at Disney. She told me our room was ready, and handed over our keys and the Disney folder with all our stuff in it. DH still hadn't come in yet, so I just walked around a few minutes, in awe of how BEAUTIFUL the lobby was. The tree, the carvings, all those little details, EVERYTHING. Finally I saw Andy come in, and we took the elevator up to the fifth floor. We found our room, RIGHT off the lobby, on the left side. I was SO excited, mistakenly thinking that not only did we have courtyard view, but also a room off the lobby??! We slid the key in, but nothing happened. 2, 3 more tries, and nothing. DARNIT! Should have known it shouldnt have been that easy. So we went back down to check in, luckily there had been no line since we'd been there. Another girl helped us, said they had given us the wrong room, and told us our new one. I said that I'd really liked that one, off the lobby. Well this girl didn't speak English very well, and seemed very confused. Another girl came over and said that we'd paid for courtyard view, which was more, but she'd see if they could get us another room off the lobby, which was less. I was confused, thought that was what it was. Then she explained to me that the only rooms that were both lobby and courtyard are the ones directly facing the lake, and of course they were all booked. AGH. So, we decided to just stick with what we'd wanted initially, so they gave us another room, again on the fifth floor...

Room 5119, our home away from home for the week...

This was waiting for us on the bed...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007250.jpg

I immediately went to the balcony and pulled back the drapes and went outside to check out the view...

DH had other plans...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007001.jpg

We sat around for a few minutes, about that time our parents called to check on us. Ah, it never stops. We tried calling bell services to bring up our luggage, but our phone was not working. The little buttons would not do anything. So we went downstairs, decided to go ahead and get lunch, and just stop by the bell services counter. It was now about 2:30 pm or so. We headed down to Roaring Fork, and both just got cheeseburgers and fries and just paid out of pocket. And here is my stolen food porn picture...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/forkburger2.jpg

We also got the refillable mug, and filled up on coke. We sat outside and watched the ducks, and kids swimming, and just relaxed.

After eating, we stopped by bell services and asked for our luggage to be brought up. They got there just a few minutes after we did. After receiving everything, we decided to wait to unpack that night, and head on out for some fun!

It's a family tradition to go to Downtown Disney our first day, since we don't usually waste a park ticket that day. DH is not a fan of the buses, and LOVES water and boats, so we decided to make it more fun. We rode the boat to the Contemporary, which was very fun. Then walked around there for awhile, and decided to then ride the monorail, MY favorite. We got off at the Polynesian. We didn't stay too long, knowing we'd be back later in the week twice. We then rode a bus to DTD. Time consuming? Yes, but fun. We walked around most of the stores, but waited to buy anything. When we went back in May, we never went to the Westside so we walked from DTD over to Pleasure Island and the Westside. By this time we were both starting to get tired, it was probably around 7 or so, and it seemed very crowded. It was pretty hot too. So we agreed to get out of there, and go back the WL for some swimming.

What a GREAT idea. The pool was virtually empty when we got there. DH was disappointed that the slide was closed, but we would be back later in the week. We just floated around, and enjoyed the evening. This was the first time we'd ever been swimming in a pool together, strange as that sounds. My parents have a lakehouse and we have boats and jetskis, and we've been to the beach together a lot, but never a pool. Strange much? Anyway. We also waited around until people got out of the jacuzzi...I'm weird about being in there with strangers. Somewhere in there we decided to split some chicken fingers and an ice cream from Roaring Forks using our first CS credit. “The Fork”, as it became known as throughout the week. And filled the mug up with our first hot chocolate of many. We sat near the pool at a table and ate, and talked about everything we wanted to do that week.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/forkchicken.jpg

After an hour or two we headed back to the room and showered, and started unpacking. I also decorated, and got our room in the Christmas spirit. Again, dorky, yes...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007033.jpg

During this time, I had the door to the balcony open slightly so we could hear the boat horns on the lake. I heard a familiar tune, and got all excited. It was the Electrical Water Pageant, which Andy LOVED in May. LOVED.

We ran out there and watched it from our balcony, and soon after went to bed, exhausted, but ready to get up and see the World!

Seriously, I don't know what it is but Disney DOES have the best hot chocolate. We filled the mug up at least once a day with it. I make it at home alot, but it's just not the same. Must be the Disney water!

And I TOTALLY thought about you while we were there. DH thought I was nuts when I was talking about my "online friends" , when I'd say "Oh so and so did this", and "oh my friend was here". haha. I LOVED WL, it def became home to us.

Looks like the beginning of a great trip report. I had to blink twice when I saw a picture of your husband; he looks like a younger version of my sister's husband.

We didn't eat at either. We did have ADRs months ago for Artist Point, but decided not to go this time b/c we were already using 2 TS credits at Narcoosee's, and I wanted to go there alot more.
I have been to Whispering Canyon lots of times with my family, that's how I came to fall in love with WL, just going to eat there.

YAY!
I did the tree on my own...I found a thread months back that showed how to make those tree ornaments with styrofoam balls, it was SUCH a good idea I had to do it. I've had that little tree for years, in my room at my parents house so I decided we HAD to take it, I needed to decorate since we'd be there for Christmas. I'm so glad I did, it was so nice to come back to at night!

I love your trip report! Can't wait to hear more!

Thanks for reading! Hm, how strange. He gets comments all the time that he looks like the guy from Superbad and Knocked Up, can't think of the guys name. I'll have to tell him he has another twin somewhere!

Thank you everyone for reading! This is so fun, my first TR, I didn't know if anyone would read or not! We're busy this weekend cleaning and moving more of my stuff from my parent's house, but I'm going to try to get another installment up this weekend before I go back to classes on Monday!!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic Saturday!!! :goodvibes

Tuesday, December 11

We didn't set the alarm this morning, or all week actually. But I think I popped up out of the bed by 8 am just about everyday! Some days we didn't get in a huge hurry to get out, which is new for me, my family always was out early in the morning, and stayed out alllll day. We didn't enjoy this in May, so our plan was to take things slower and relax. That being said, I was ready to GO!!! We fell into a pattern of me taking the shower first, then I would eat my morning peanut butter crackers and apple juice out on the balcony while DH showered. That was one of my favorite parts of the trip I think...just sitting out there, first thing in the morning, watching everyone walking around, going to get breakfast, and hearing the horns on the boats starting to blow. I also noticed just about every morning, when they would switch on the music outside. It would be so peaceful, I could hear the water in the falls flowing, and ducks quacking, and then all of a sudden the music would come on. Anyway...this was how just about every morning would go. It would end with us making sure we had everything packed into the Baggallini, and me rushing DH out the door!

This was the only day we had no ADRs to make, so we had the whole day ahead of us and no real plans. Well...that's not entirely true. I got Tour Guide Mike months back, and am SO glad we did. We really did find that waits were unusually short, and it was just awesome. I'll totally be doing that again. So I used his best days, and we had plans to go to Magic Kingdom that morning, and then MGM sometime in the day, to catch Fantasmic that night.

So off we went!! We practically skipped down to the boat dock. It was a magnificent day, the sky was blue and the weather was beautiful. We got on the boat, it was one of the bigger ones with the big deck in front. There was the cutest family sitting in front of us, the dad and the son and daughter were in front of us, and the mom and another son on the other side. I guess the dad saw our “Just Married” pins, and he said something to his son about how shiny and nice DH's ring was. He asked how long we'd been married, and we said just 2 days. He was like, WOW, congratulations. Some of the other people on the front with us told us congratulations as well. He said something else about the ring and the marriage being shiny and new, and then asked his son if they should tell us the awful truth. It was very cute, and they talked to us the rest of the way to the MK. Eventually, we made our way around the bend and I could see the MK coming up.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007007.jpg

There really is nothing like seeing it the first time on the trip. I get goosebumps, and a little teary everytime...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007008.jpg

We got in through the gates pretty quickly, and stepped onto Main Street.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007010.jpg

I always want to stop and take a ton of pictures and go in the shops, but I knew we'd be back, and I could tell it was fairly empty so we should take advantage and get on some rides! We did stop to take a Photopass picture, and were on our way!
It has always been almost a tradition for my family to start on the left in Adventureland, so we decided to start in Tommorowland, for the first time. We went right on Buzz Lightyear, NO wait. AWESOME! I LOVE this ride. It's funny, since the ride opened, we'd been probably 3 or 4 times, and I refused to ride it. I get motion sickness and can't do anything spinny...the teacups is my worst nightmare. Well after reading on here before our May trip, I figured it wasn't that bad. So we all went on it in May, and I LOVED it. We rode it like 4 times in a row that trip. It's crazy that all that time I was so terrified of it, and its one of my favorites now!! Anyway, DH kicked my butt as usual, I just never could get the hang of how to get the most points. So off that, we went to Carousel of Progress. We skipped this in May, and I had a feeling DH might like it. He likes educational stuff, so off we went. I must add, we were getting “Congratulations” left and right this morning. Very cool. Anyway...not surprising, DH LOVED this. He kept talking about it after we got off. Crazy. Then we had to do my favorite, the “Peoplemover”. I will call it that FOREVER. This is one of my most favorite pictures...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007011.jpg

After we finished in Tommorowland we headed off to Mickey's Toontown through the “secret walkway”. I love this...there was no one back there, and I just enjoyed walking with my husband, on the first day of our trip, knowing we still had the whole week ahead of us.
We walked through Mickey's house, and took a few pictures, but it was pretty crowded so we hurried through.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007012.jpg

We just kinda walked slowly, went through the gift shop, and headed toward Fantasyland.

We also missed out on Pooh in May, so DH really wanted to ride this. LOVE that ride. He cracked up at the bouncing with Tigger part. For a guy who tries to be Mr. Cool all the time, I just love seeing him get such a kick out of the most RANDOM things.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007015.jpg

We also went on Snow White, another new one for DH.
Next was Mickey's Philharmagic. Its one of my favorites EVER. Love it, everytime. We got so lucky again, we walked up and there was no line, and they were still letting people in for the next show. SCORE!!! After that, we went on It's a Small World. Now, I used to get all offended when people talked crap about this ride. It's always been one of those MK traditions for me because its one of the few rides I actually remember riding when I was really little, but I think this trip I really got it. It is kinda lame, and boring, and I think I'm losing my fascination with it. It will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'll probably always ride it once every trip, for sentimental reasons. But, I was ready to get off! We went from there over to the Haunted Mansion. This is my most favorite ride, EVER. Now I was DYING to ride this, and I purposefully saved it for last, just because I love the anticipation. I had heard and seen about the renovations, and could not WAIT. Again, NO wait. We walked up and they were just shutting the doors, but we were in within five minutes. I was almost jumping up and down excited. And it did not disappoint. I noticed all the changes, the best were the new room with the staircases, AWESOME, and the new Madame Leota. SO COOL. I just love that ride.

After that we were getting hungry so we went to get some lunch...

Now, while stealing pictures off the food porn thread, I could NOT find a picture of what I had to eat. I don't know if it's new or something, but seriously, it was the best counter service food we had all week. It was a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, which I'm not normally a fan of, but wow, it was good. DH got the pepperoni pizza, and it came with a side salad, which I ate half of, and gave him my chips. I also gave him the other half of my sandwich, he's my little human garbage disposal. This is when I began to realize that while this dining plan was very convenient...I liked just handing over our card..it was wayyyy too much food. We hardly ever get dessert, so that was new. DH got the chocolate cake, and I got the strawberry cheesecake thing. We both just managed a few bites. And that is a pet peeve with me, wasting food. But oh well, what can you do.

Around this time my mom called, just trying to make herself miserable and jealous by hearing how much fun we had. We talked to her for a little bit, I wanted to make sure my kitty was ok. After that we talked about what to do. We had gotten SO much done, it was just about 2 pm or so, and had done pretty much over half of the park. We were coming back the next day, so we decided to head over to MGM, so we'd have a few hours before Fantasmic.
Of course we had to figure out the most fun way to get there. So we rode the monorail. We were going to ride it to the Contemporary and ride the bus to MGM, but we somehow went up the wrong side, and went to the Express monorail directly to the TTC. Not a problem, they have busses too. Well, this was probably the longest line we encountered, waiting for that bus. Eventually it came though. We got to MGM, and I was so excited seeing all the decorations again.

Fantasmic wasn't until 6:30 so we had some time to play with. We went straight towards the Muppets, this was DH's FAVORITE ride in May. Along they way, we passed the Jedi Academy going on, so DH had to stop and take pictures.

This is from our May trip...

We also had to go in the store to see if there was anything he needed. He got a tshirt on sale in May there for like 9.99, but they didn't have anything that good, so we just went to the Muppets.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007021.jpg

It was great as always. We got there towards the end of the preshow, which is the best part, but oh well.

We walked around some in the streets, saw some of the Osbourne lights. We talked about maybe seeing them after Fantasmic, if we weren't too tired. Then we headed towards The Great Movie Ride. I really think this was the longest ride wait we saw. It always is so long. After that we were a little tired, and decided to just head over towards the amphitheater and relax. We walked in a few stores, and took our time, just enjoying the atmosphere. We were just about to get our first dose of pixiedust for the week...

Well I NEED to get to bed, I was going to do the whole day but dang its taking awhile. I will try to get the rest up tommorow, or later this week!!! Thanks for reading!!!

I just love sitting out on the balcony in the mornings too! Hearing the boat horns really lets me know we're in WDW!

Well you also know how much I love getting to the MK! Especially riding the boat and you get that first view of the castle as you go past the Contemporary...:cloud9:

I still can't believe that not very many people use that "secret walkway"! Every time that we used it, we saw maybe one or two other families!

Wow, Fantasmic was at 6:30?! Well, I guess it was December HA. I'm just used to the 9:00 and 10:30 ones in July! I was so excited to read about it.....

and then you left us with a cliffhanger!

We are coming to the WL for the first time this April, so I am very interested to hear about how you found housekeeping and the overall feel of the Resort. Our two DKs insisted on a bunkbed room, so they are just so jazzed. Cannot wait to hear more!

Thanks for reading!

Yup, he gets that ALL the time. It's pretty funny. Not so much now b/c his hair is shorter, but even still. I don't see it too much, but with longer hair maybe. still, we will be out somewhere and young kids say it ALL the time. hilarious.

awww, that's so sweet that you thought about me! It was BEAUTIFUL, we were so lucky with weather too, I think it only rained once while we were there, during the day anyway. BEAUTIFUL, December is my favorite time to go. I need to get on your TR!

I just love sitting out on the balcony in the mornings too! Hearing the boat horns really lets me know we're in WDW!

aah, I would give just about anything to be back there right now, sitting on our balcony. gah.

oh and the boat, was DH's FAVORITE thing, I swear, at first everytime we'd be getting ready to go somewhere he'd ask if we were taking the boat. Being a newbie, he didn't get that everything wasn't connected by boat. too funny.

The walkway is AWESOME, I love that there isn't anyone there, and by the end of the week, being surrounded by people at all times, we LOVED it more.

Yeah its weird the times being so early for things, and earlier closing times. It was cool though b/c we got to spend more time at DTD and WL at the pool and stuff.

Thanks for reading! I'm going to try to update again later today!

Oh my gosh, you are going to LOVE IT! The whole resort is just awesome. Transportation was great, we found it quicker to take the boat to the Contemporary and ride the monorail when that is possible, but the busses aren't awful, seemed like DTD and AKL were the worst as far as waits.
Housekeeping was GREAT, we got towel animals three times, and they did turndown service every other night or so, and we never even requested it. We always had plenty of towels and things, it was just great. I would stay there again in a heartbeat! LOVED it. I can't wait to hear about your trip! :goodvibes

Oh we loved the boat, SO much. I've never actually seen Star Wars, SHAME, I know. But DH is obsessed. Thanks for reading!

I kept looking out for you guys, I didn't know where you'd be but we went to the Contemporary SO many times, and I saw SO many bride and groom ears, but I never saw you guys, so strange. AND, we saw one particular couple with the ears many times that week, it was so strange...

Thanks for reading everyone!!! I'm going to try to get the next installment up before I go to class tonight!!

We just took our time walking up towards the theater for Fantasmic, went in some of the shops down Sunset, and just relaxed some. We had about 2 hours or so until showtime, and were debating on what to do for dinner. Neither of us was hungry, again, this is where the DP was showing itself to be way too much food for us. We had an extra TS credit, because we didn't use our ADR the night before at Wolfgang Puck (we were ready to go swimming, and just not hungry enough to go that night). So, we could use that credit, or just pay OOP for a CS. We usually just get a hotdog and popcorn or something at Fantasmic, but we just didn't think we'd be ready to eat then. And me, being the obsessive planner, was trying to think of what to do. We just decided to wing it, and figure it out later.

I was getting thirsty though, and had seen a few people carrying those slushy lemonade things, so we stopped to get one. DH also picked up a Powerade, and a Coke for us to share later at the show. When we got to the front of the line to order, the girl working was being all sweet, telling us congratulations and asking how long we'd been married, and if we had a Disney wedding. When DH got his money out to pay, she just shook her head and said “Congratulations” again. I figured it out quicker than DH, he said something about paying for the 2 bottled drinks too, but she just shook her head again and repeated, congratulations. We both said thank you and I told her how sweet she was, and we went to find a table. Our first dose of pixiedust!!! It was so nice, and so unexpected. I'd heard that people sometimes got things like that, but we weren't wearing the ears, just our buttons, and I didn't expect anything. Speaking of that...DH and I are both shy people, and don't like a lot of extra attention. Well earlier in the day we'd noticed other honeymoon couples with the bride and groom ears getting called out and stuff, things that we wouldn't have enjoyed. So, we decided not to wear them. We hadn't bought my bride ears yet, although we did get them later b/c I wanted to have them. And DH had a "Groom" baseballcap, but just decided not to wear it. So, just in case anyone was wondering if we wore them...no.

We really just wanted to relax, and enjoy our first trip alone together, without having a lot of extra attention. And we did. So anyway. We found a shaded table to sit at across from Fantasmic, and just sat and talked for about an hour or so. One of my favorite things to do is people watch, and we have always stayed on the go at Disney, so I have never had the luxury of just sitting and watching everything, and taking in all the atmosphere. It was another one of my favorite moments of the trip.

A little less than a hour before the show we decided to go ahead and walk up to the theater. This was the first time we didn't wait with the herd of cattle into the show. Which was nice, but we didn't get right in the middle, which is where I've always sat. Not big deal though, we were just in the next section to the left, good seats, except for the big pole in front of us. But again, not biggie, it's still my favorite show EVER. It was getting chilly, and I SO wished I had a sweatshirt or just a long sleeved tshirt to put on. It was so hot, I wore tank tops everyday, but by nighttime it was cool enough for at least a long sleeved shirt. Anyway, the show was awesome as usual, I tear up almost everytime, I just love it.

Well before the show we were discussing doing some resort hopping after Fantasmic. I LOVE doing that, and I wanted DH to see more. We weren't really in the mood to see the Obsourne lights that night, it was just cold and we were ready to leave. We planned on coming back anyway. I suggested going to Pop Century, I love the theming, I stayed there a few years ago with friends, and had told DH if we wanted to come back on a budget, that's the place to stay. And the food court is huge so I knew we could find dinner there. Well then HE, my non planning, spontaneous husband, who knows nothing about Disney, actually made a great suggestion. “How about going to Ft. Wilderness at eating at the buffet there?”. Whaaaat??? You actually have an interested suggestion??? OK!!!

Ft. Wilderness holds a special place in my heart. My first trip to Disney, when I was 3, was actually at the Buena Vista Palace. But I don't really remember it. My first REAL memories are at the campground. My parents have always had a camper, and that's where we always stayed, for the longest time. I remember walking around there, and riding the boats, and going to the campfire at night, and swimming...its just so special. And that's where we stayed in May with my parents. DH LOVED Trail's End...he's not a fancy food guy at all, just plain stuff, he's all about it. So that's what we did.

We headed out of Fantasmic, and waited for about 30 min for a Ft. Wilderness bus. We got off right down from Trail's End and walked up, they gave us a buzzer and we only waited about 10 min. That's what I love about it too, it's almost never busy. And it's SO good.

Few pictures...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/trailsend.jpg

We enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the chairs, the exact same chairs we sat in our last trip. There were 2 bunnies jumping around out in the middle of the street in the grass, and kids playing on the playground. I loved it. After we ate we walked down the boat dock and waited just a few minutes for the bus across to WL. We ran up to the room to get our bathing suits on and grab our mug and went swimming again. We just loved the pool there, at night there were usually very few people in the pool, and it was just warm enough to swim in, even though it was chillier at night. We walked down to the beach to see the Electrical Water Parade at 9:30, and layed in the beach chairs together. Again, one of my favorite moments of the trip. I enjoyed those quiet, relaxing moments so much more this time, not just rushing around from place to place. So nice. We stayed down there until prob 11 or so, just swimming in the pool, visiting the hot tub, and relaxing. We stopped by The Fork for a refill on the hot chocolate before heading back upstairs for a shower and bed. And I did bring a bottle of my favorite wine, White Zinfandel, so it's possible that I had a glass before bed as well...and then off to bed, ready for our next day of fun, at Epcot, and MK again. And dinner with POOH!!!

I am so staying at WL next time I go. It sounds beautiful. DH and I did go over there to get pics in the lobby but I want to stay there. yay I'm glad you are liking the WL pics. It was beautiful, I couldn't be happier that we decided to stay there. Even seeing how beautiful other resorts were, like the Grand Floridian and Polynesian, the WL was just so our style, and I loved the winter feel because we live in Georgia and don't get much of a winter!

Wednesday December 12th

This morning again I was UP and READY without the help of an alarm clock. Who needs alarm clocks when you're in DISNEY??!!!!

We had plans to go to Epcot for the morning and then head to Magic Kingdom later in the day for our Crystal Palace ADR at 7:10. My memory is getting a little foggy but I'm pretty sure we just rode the bus to Epcot that day. Usually we opted for the longer, more fun route...riding the boat to the Contemporary or MK and then monorail, but I am pretty sure we just decided to get there fast, so off to the bus we went!

We started in Futureworld, planned on doing that side of the part that day and then coming back later in the week for World Showcase. We rode Nemo first, I LOVE that ride. It's just so cute, and I love seeing all the fish. I was telling DH about what the Seas used to be...back when it was just called The Living Seas. I can remember riding in those “hydrolators” when I was a kid, and being scared for some reason. I was telling him about the old ride that basically was just a car that rode around through the tanks.
Anyway, after the ride we walked around some, and checked out the manatees for awhile, and the other tanks upstairs.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007038.jpg

We looked into seeing Turtle Talk, but it had just started and we didn't feel like waiting around for it. We had an ADR later that week at Coral Reef so I knew we'd be back!

Then we headed to The Land. We checked out the time for Soarin', I wasn't planning on riding but DH really wanted to. It was some ridiculous wait, and the FP time was for late in the afternoon and we knew we'd be gone. Oh well, we'd try later in the week. There was practically no wait for Living with the Land, so we went on that, DH really enjoyed this ride before. We're both those weirdo educational lovers, so this is the kind of stuff we like.

So after that we decided to go ahead and eat lunch a little early, so we'd be hungry for our ADR that night, since it was a bit earlier than we were used to eating. We wanted to eat at Sunshine Seasons anyway, because IMO it's the best CS in Futureworld, and one of my favorites period.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/sunshineseasons.jpg

We both got sandwiches, I got the Black Forest Ham and DH got the Turkey and Muenster.
He got some peanut butter and chocolate cake thing, and I wanted to get the strawberry shortcake from the bakery. Well when we went over there, one of the ladies working was trying to tell one of the younger guys there what we was supposed to do when he saw our pins. He was being kind of obnoxious, and it was kinda weird, but she finally told him to leave and she gave us two free chocolate chip cookies as congratulations. It was very sweet, but we felt awkward. Anyway. We found a table over by the stairs, and sat down to relax. It was all very good, I only ate about half my sandwich because I LOVE the strawberry shortcake there, its so fresh, YUM. We put the cookies in the bag for later, and headed out.

We went to Journey into Imagination, because no matter how lame that ride seems now, I don't care, I love it. I had a plush Figment when I was a kid that I LOVED. I miss the old ride, but the new one is ok. We HAD to play around with the picture things after the ride, here is a picture DH took of me emailing it to our families, dont really know why...

We then headed over the Ellen's Energy ride, I love it too. This was new for DH, and he really enjoyed it. He even mentioned wanting to ride it again later. Cool with me!!!!

By this time it was probably around 2 or so and we decided to head out, and hang out at the MK for awhile.

Took this on the way out...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007050.jpg

We headed out to the monorail, didn't have to wait too long for it.

one last look...I was bored, so I just took pictures...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007051.jpg

Finally we got to the MK!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007053.jpg

We walked slower down Main Street this time, walked in some of the shops.

I loved this in one of the windows..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007054.jpg

We kept seeing one set of Christmas decorations, the Victorian looking Mickey and Minnie stuff, and we decided we would get one of the figurines with Mickey holding the mistletoe over him and Minnie. We just wanted to wait until later, so we wouldn't have to carry it around all day. I really wanted the stockings, but all they had anywhere was Minnie. I NEVER saw a Mickey one. So I don't know what's up with that.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007055.jpg

We headed towards Adventureland, and walked right towards the Dole Whip stand! So, we had to have one. YUMMMM. We just split a Dole whip float, using one of our snack credits. We found a table nearby and sat and relaxed a bit. I love that, just relaxing and taking it all in. ah.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/dolewhip.jpg

From there we went on Pirates of the Carribean, one of our favorites. Well, first we walked past the Jungle Cruise and the line was ridiculous so we said forget it for now. The line for Pirates wasn't too long, but here we encountered some of those RUDE people. Families who kept trying to just push past people, and skip to the front of the line. And like I said, it wasn't even that long. Ugh. We just shook our heads at how rude people can be. I LOVE this ride, especially the new part at the beginning, going through the mist. And I hate to say it, but I haven't actually seen any of the movies so I don't know the names of the characters, well, Jack Sparrow of course. We totally meant to rent at least the first one before we went but time got away and we never did. Anwyay....LOVED the ride.

After that we pretty much high tailed it over to Haunted Mansion. Have I mentioned it's my FAVORITE???????!!!

On the way over I took this picture of the married man...I had to picture msg this to some of our friends as well.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007059.jpg

LOVED the ride, of course. I can't get enough of the HM!

By this time it was starting to get dark, and I wanted to ride the Liberty Square Riverboat, I hadn't done it since I was a kid. We waited for it for maybe 10 minutes, and I just took some pictures of how cool the Haunted Mansion looked from there.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007061.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007060.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007062.jpg

I LOVE the MK at night, with the lights and everything. Its just awesome. When the boat got there we went down on the bottom, to the front where there was a bench. It was getting a bit chilly and thank goodness I'd thought to put a long sleeve tshirt in the Baggallini. We just enjoyed the slow moving ride, and I took more pictures, esp when we came around back to the Haunted Mansion. When we got off the ride it was getting close to our ADR time, so we decided to just walk slowly up there and check in a little early.

Next up...our dinner with Pooh and WISHES!!

Thanks for reading everyone!!! I'm working on getting the next installment done, just been crazy busy. I started this week doing my internship at a local elementary school, on top of being at school Monday through Thursday nights, its nuts. Bear with me, I'll try to have it soon!

OH and just on a related note...we are thinking about going for Thanksgiving with my parents and staying at Ft. Wilderness. My parents are dying to go, but it's BOOKED right now...so we're going to keep trying, hopefully we can go! I'd LOVE to swing another trip in this year, and that would be an early first anniversary trip too! I'll keep you guys updated!

Wednesday Dec. 12th Part 2

We decided to slowly made our way up to Crystal Palace to check in, meeting some friends along the way...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007056.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007058.jpg

We got to the line and were SURROUNDED by the masses of people wanting to eat dinner with Pooh and the gang. This was the first time I really got to show DH how non-crazy planner I was, for making ADRs ahead of time. I think he got it then. I heard them telling people there was no availability for walk ups that night. Crazy. It was insanity, I saw so many parents lose their cool because they couldn't get it. We finally got to the front of the line, and the lady checking us in was super nice, she told us congratulations and gave us a pager. We sat down in front of CP, and watched the end of the show going on at the castle. We waited maybe 10 minutes before our pager went off. The girl took us to our table, which looked something like this (I forgot to take a pic!)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/cpconfetti.jpg

There was confetti EVERYWHERE! I loved it, and even DH was surprised. We were on the right side of the restaurant, not at window table but at the 2 person table across from the windows. The family next to us at the window was so cute, the parents had anniversary pins on, and I heard them tell the waitress it was their 10 year, and they had their two CUTE little girls with them, probably about 4 or 5. When we sat down the girls saw our confetti, and I heard one ask if it was our anniversary too, since their parents had also gotten the confetti. They said “nooo, they JUST got married”. Such a nice family. Our waitress came over shortly, and also talked to us about our wedding and honeymoon, and then the girl saw my ring and was like, WOW. At first, I thought she just meant the size, or something (I got a few reactions like that through the week when people saw my ring, which isn't THAT big, but it has a high setting, and appears bigger than it is I think)..anyway, she then stuck her hand out and was like THAT is weird. Her rings were almost exactly like mine, exactly. Mine is a Kirk Kara, and hers wasn't, but other than that they were identical. So we had a laugh about that...DH said the lucky guy must have found the same gumball machine...harhar...he loves that joke. Sorry for that little sidetrack...

We went and got food...I ended up eating mostly salads and peel and eat shrimp. MAN, was it good. I love stuff like that, esp being at Disney and getting sick of the standard fried food. The characters came around, and DH and I aren't huge into characters...crazy I know, don't hate us. We said hello and Tigger interacted with us more than the others (we never saw Eeyore)...but the others would just come by and wave, and go to the family next to us. Which was fine...we didn't want to take up their time, and we didn't care so much about getting autographs/pictures. It was coming up on time for Spectromagic (I dont remember what time it was), so we decided to RUN to Tommorowland, so we wouldn't get stuck off Main Street with the crowds. So we roooolled our stuffed selves out, and made it across Main St. just in time. Let me just say though, Crystal Palace was one of our favorites the whole week. I wasn't really looking forward to it at first, I'm not typically a fan of buffets but DH is...but I LOVED it. Everything was so fresh and different. Def. will be going back there again.

We had planned on doing a few rides then, but we were both miserably full, and decided to just relax. We walked back toward the bridge back to Main St. and decided to sit down.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007071.jpg

I don't know if this area has a name, but its where the big pole is on the left going towards Main St on the bridge, its like a little alcove area. Across from the Rose Garden. Anyway...we sat, and could see the floats of the parade going down the street. DH isn't crazy about parades so I didn't make a big deal about seeing it, but I was glad that we at least caught a glimpse of it. We ended up talking to both our parents, just catching up some, and just relaxed and talked. Another one of my favorite moments.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007068.jpg

Pictures cannot even do justice to how pretty that castle was, oh my gosh I NEED to see it every year.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007069.jpg

The crowd was only getting bigger for Wishes at 9 that night, so we decided to just stay put, since we were at least sitting down. I have never seen the fireworks from this spot, so I thought it would be cool. I had read to go to the Rose Garden to see them from a secluded spot, but I actually walked over there and there were TONS of people there, so we decided we definitely weren't moving. We also got a perfect view of Tinkerbell flying above us, which was another cool thing I hadn't seen before.

Wishes was amazing as always, I love it. Not my favorite (Fantasmic is!), but it's awesome, and the music is just beautiful. Our view was good, we could see everything, but we've always watched from Main St., so the fireworks are over the castle...so this was different seeing them way off to the right side. Still beautiful though.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007013.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007006.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007004.jpg

After the fireworks were over the park was closing, so the masses started pouring towards the front. We decided to stay put and let it die down. I get super claustrophobic and did NOT want to be in the middle of that...done it before, and I hate it. We just sat and relaxed, talked about how much fun we were having and what all we still had left to do.

We probably sat there for a good 30 to 45 minutes. We could still see quite a few people walking around, but decided to go ahead and start walking towards the front.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007023.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007070-1.jpg

We walked in a few shops, and just took our time. When we got to the boat dock there wasn't too many people, and we got on the next boat back to WL. On the way up to the room we decided to stop and buy a few things in the gift shop. We got my cat one of the big pink bowls that says “Princess” on it, to use as her water bowl b/c its heavy and she can't play in it and turn it over! We also got the fleece snowman blanket that was the special add on, and a frame as another add on. YAY! It was pretty cool that night so we didn't do our usual night time swim, we just headed upstairs and relaxed on our balcony for a little bit before heading to bed. Another great end to a perfect day.

Next up: DH's first time at Animal Kingdom and the best meal of the trip!!!

very cool!! It was a great spot, even though the fireworks weren't behind the castle like we usually see it. I liked being able to sit and just relax...starting to see a trend here I think....relax being the key word, haha.

I love your TR so far! Thanks for sharing it! I loved your wedding report and I think I am going to love your Trip Report more! We are most likely staying at the Wilderness lodge on rented DVC points for our honeymoon in November!

I have a question. I haven't been to the Haunted Mansion since the remodel, Did they remove the turnstile that were by the main door? My DF is a bot "Fluffy" and last time we went on the haunted Mansion it was a really tight squeeze. We are hoping they replaced them with the new kid, you know the ones like at Pirates, that you just walk through with no turn-y thing.

Thursday December 13th

This was our only planned Animal Kingdom day, and it was the first time going for DH. When we went in May we only had 3 days and did not go to AK, so I was very excited to go to AK and it be new for him. We got up at a decent time and were there by 10 I'm sure. The park looked fairly empty so that was very exciting. AK is probably my least favorite, that or MGM...and I really don't enjoy it when it's really crowded, esp when it's hot, which it always seems to be there. We kinda took our time, looked at the decorations and watching all the characters that are always out front there.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007076.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007075.jpg

I also saw something I had never seen before, the interactive palm tree...and I'm drawing a blank on his name...anyway, he was moving around in front of the gates, and I was surprised to see the guy with the mic so nearby.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007072.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007074.jpg

I spotted him immediately, and was surprised the people he was talking to didn't catch on quicker. Anyway...that was cool, something I had never seen before. We went on through the gates, and through Discovery Island. We walked pretty slowly, DH was enjoying looking at all the animals, and I think that is one of the coolest things about AK, just taking in all of the surroundings.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007077.jpg

When we got to the bridge, we stopped for a Photopass, and she did the fun one with me holding the baby Simba, BUT I can't find my Photopass cards, thus why I haven't posted any. I know I have them somewhere though.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007079.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007080.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007083.jpg

Anyway...then we went straight to A Bug's Life, because it didn't have a line and I knew DH would love it, since he'd loved all the other 3D shows so far.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007081.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007082.jpg

And of course he did...we got a kick out of all the screaming kids in there...that's kinda mean, but it always makes me laugh...you hear all these adults start screaming, which makes kids scream too. Anyway, we ended up getting really wet, which was strange. When you get squirted from the stinkbug, usually its just a sprinkling, but we must have been in a weird place or something because my hair was SOAKED. Odd. After that we headed towards the Safari b/c the park was getting fuller and I knew we'd have to wait awhile. The line said something like 20 minutes, so we were just going to wait, but when we went to get in line it was all the way to the back, and I know previously when I have been that far back it's a lot longer than 20 minutes, so we got a FastPass for about an hour later.

So then we had time to go to the Conservation Station, really I just wanted to ride the train, its fun. And I knew DH would enjoy that. When we got back there, before we walked in the doors we saw a crowd out front, and it was Push, the trashcan. Or whatever his name is there, I thought he was just at MK.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007100.jpg

But he was moving around, and again, the guy w/him was so close, but the kids had no idea. ANOTHER new thing for me too!! I couldn't believe I had seen both the tree and the trashcan, things I had never seen or even heard of before! So cool. So we walked around inside and then I had to take DH out to see the goats before we left and got back on the train to go use our FP.

On the way back to the safari, we saw ANOTHER new thing to me, Devine!!! I was so excited, I had read about her on here and saw pictures, and while we were walking I saw a bunch of people crowded around, and then a Cast Member, so I knew it must be her!!! We watched for 10 minutes or so, it was SO cool. She wrapped herself around this tree and people walking by were so confused, b/c they didn't know what everyone was looking at. Very cool.

The Safari was fun as usual, our guide kinda sucked though...he was talking really fast and I don't know if he was trying to just sound cool or what, but he used a lot of slang?, or something, I don't know. But he was annoying and I just wanted him to stop talking. DH really enjoyed it though, he thought it was very non-Disney...all the real animals and open spaces I guess?? I took lots of pictures though...

After the show we walked slowly back towards the front, deciding what to do next. We were both getting hungry, and knowing how much DH loves pizza, even though I don't, we decided to go to Pizzafari. It was pretty crowded as it was right around noon, so I went to find a table while DH ordered. He got pepperoni pizza of course, and I got the italian sandwich, or something like that...

Not bad, but not my favorite of the week. I think we called some of our family after we ate, and friends, and kinda relaxed for a little bit, trying to decide what else we wanted to do before we left. DH didn't really want to ride Everest alone, and I don't ride it, so that was out, and he just wasn't loving AK like I thought he would. It was really crowded though, and I think this was when all the screaming kids and rude people and crowds started getting to him. And I know it's not even the most crowded time of year, but he got kinda moody towards the end of the week and was sick of being run over, pushed in line, surrounding by screaming, etc. But hey, that's Disney. Anyway...we walked over to Dinoland, I didn't remember ever really going there before.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007141.jpg

That was fun, we enjoyed looking at all the rides and just walking around, and we walked around in the store over there for awhile. Ended up using some snack credits, which we had tons of, on some candy and stuff for my 2 cousins for their Christmas presents. I think we bought a few other things, but I don't remember now. I ran to use the restroom real quick, and left DH with the camera...this is what happens..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007143.jpg

After that we decided to go back to the hotel and just relax for awhile, before dinner at Narcoosees!!!!!! This was the meal I was looking forward to the most the whole week...I knew it was somewhere we wouldn't normally eat at w/out the dining plan, and is just something we wouldn't normally do. We headed out to the busses, I THINK we rode to the Contemporary and then took the boat to the WL. We rode the monorail/boat as much as possible, even if it meant taking longer. I don't really remember what we did after that...seems like we went swimming when we got back, but I can't remember. Might have taken a short nap. Anyway, we had a few hours until we needed to shower and get ready for dinner...

Next up-our big night out at the GF and Narcoosee's!

I agree that Festival of the Lion King is the best show at AK. :goodvibes Although we really enjoyed the new Finding Nemo show too.

Where did you find Devine? We have looked for her and have never been able to see her. My girls always look, but we must be looking in the wrong place or we get there to late in the day.

Devine was b/w where you walk from getting off the train back to the Safari, I THINK. I'm pretty sure that's where we were walking from...just a little pathway back there. Hope that helps! :confused3 I've never seen her before either, so I don't know where she normally is.

wow, how cool we did pretty much the same thing! I could'nt have asked for a better honeymoon! The time of year, the resort, everything was just perfect for us. Thanks so much everyone for reading!!! I need to finish uploading pictures and I should have the next installment up!!! It's a good one, I promise.

And I just have to share some exciting news too, w/all my fellow Disney freaks!!!! I have been DYING to go back...it's sad...its only been 3 months and I'm in serious withdrawal. I hate seeing the Disney commercials on tv, makes me wanna cry. I always give DH the pitiful puppy dog look, and BEG him to take me back!!!

We were trying really hard w/my parents to get into Ft. Wilderness for Thanksgiving, but its booked solid, we have tried and tried. Not giving up yet, but looks like its not gonna happen. BOOOO. But, my mom is thinking about going next May, and taking my cousins.

We took them in January of 2006, they're from Mississippi, and are now 11 and 8. They had never been before and LOVED it. My mom and I took them for a week, split stay at Boardwalk and the Poly. Everytime we see them they ask when we are going to go back. We wanted to wait a few years though, so now she's thinking next May after they (and I) get out of school. I'll be graduating w/my Masters. So it would be them, my parents, and DH and I, all in their camper at Ft. Wilderness. hurrah!!! (It's a BIG camper!)

AND, today I was just messing around on here, trying one more time to get in for Thanksgiving (no-go). And DH and I had talked about going somewhere in Dec. for our 1 year anniversary, to the mountains or something. It will actually be later, b/c my best friend is getting married on the 12th. Anyway, I started getting some prices, and for a week at Pop it would be VERY cheap. It would be hard, after staying at WL, but heck, as long as I get to be back in Disney I don't care!!! We still have 2-day tickets left, and have TALKED about annual passes, esp if we go back in May, it would be worth it. We'll see...I brought it up to DH tonight, he said that sounds good, we'll have to see though. I'm not working at all while I'm in school so money is tight. But we'll see!!! I stayed at Pop about 3 years ago w/a friend and her mom and it wasn't bad at all, just more cramped, and seriously, we're just spoiled by WL and having everything under 1 roof.

But I NEED a trip back!!! So stay tuned!!! And I'll try to have next installment up later tonight, or possibly later this week! Thanks again for reading!

So when I left off last, we had headed back to WL to rest and hang out for a bit before heading to dinner at Narcoosee's!!! I was so so SO excited about this. We don't go to fancy places often, and we never have at Disney before, and this was our big night out!! I had a dress and everything to wear! I even got DH to dress up some! Crazy! We took showers and got ourselves all nice, and decided to ride the boat over to the Contemporary and then monorail to the Grand Floridian. We had plenty of time, at least an hour and a half I think, so we thought we'd have some time to walk around at the GF before our ADR time at 7:40.

It was so romantic, riding the boat. It goes first to Ft. Wilderness, and then on to the Contemporary. There were many families getting on headed to the MK for the night. It was a beautiful night, and I was so happy to be with my husband, out on the water at WDW. Perfect. Things were fantastic, until we got up to the monorail at the Contemporary. Holy mass of tourists batman. There were people EVERYWHERE. And everytime a monorail would come through, people weren't getting off so only a few could get on. So the line wasn't moving at all. And people were trying to push in line, and being all kinds of crazy. DH and I are VERY laid back people, and are really good at ignoring stupid people, but after awhile we were about to lose it. We started running out of time to get there on time, and I was freaking out about being late. This was the meal I was MOST looking forward to, and we could NOT lose it. Eventually we made it to the front, it was about 7:30 by this time. And we still had 2 stops, the TTC and Poly before we got to GH. ARGH. We get on the monorail with screaming, whiny kids and grumpy, agitated families. It was chaos. We just stood ourselves in the corner and held on, trying to stay happy. We finally got to the GF, and I realized I didn't actually KNOW where Narcoosee's was. I thought it would be easy to find and we'd have plenty of time, so never really worried about it before we left.

Cue two dressed up, newly married maniacs RUNNING down the stairs into the super classy GF lobby, knocking furniture over and people staring. Ok maybe not...but that's sure what it felt like. I found someone to ask where the restaurant was, and we took off out the doors towards the back. It was nuts.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/narcooseesign.jpg

We got there just a few minutes late and checked in, and they gave us as buzzer and said it would be a few minutes. Well actually, first I asked for a window table...that was half the reason we (ok, I) wanted to go there. She said it might make our wait longer, which was fine. We went and sat at the bar, and ordered some drinks. I had some YUMMY Peppermint Martini thing, SO GOOD. And I think DH had a rum and coke, or something like that.

We were calming down now, we had made it, and were in this beautiful, super romantic place, AT DISNEY. On our HONEYMOON. It was about 10 minutes until our pager went off, not bad at all. We went to the front, and then were led to our table. AT A WINDOW. Hurrah!! We were towards the back, so we didn't have a straight view of the MK, but still, it was beautiful.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007145.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007144.jpg

Our waitress brought our menus to our table...and they were personalized!!! Only, they had put my maiden name on them, instead of our married name. It was pretty funny, and I'm one of those people who doesn't like to cause conflict or complain, so I wasn't going to say anything. But then I started thinking, I was planning on making a scrapbook of our trip, so I really wanted to be able to use the menus, and I'd regret not asking. So I told our waitress the name was wrong...that I had made the ADR before we got married, and she apologized and said she'd fix it, not big deal. So a few minutes later they brought the new ones, SO sweet.

We had been trying to decide what to order...we rarely order appetizers or even dessert when we go out, so this was a big splurge for us, being on the dining plan. I decided on the Crab Cakes...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/narcooseecrabcakes.jpg

And DH got the Buttermilk Fried Shrimp. He's the picky one, and isn't a huge fan of seafood. The crab cakes were AWESOME. Best I've ever had. YUM. They were so soft and just GREAT. I'm sure DH liked his shrimp, that's about the only seafood he will eat. OH and the bread they had was great as well, w/sea salted butter. YUM. Neither of us had ever had lobster before, and DH had talked about getting the whole lobster. But I had a feeling he might not like it, so we both ended up getting the Surf and Turf.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/narcooseesteaklobster.jpg

The steak was SO good. I'm not usually a big steak fan, but I'd read on here that it was great so I wanted to try it. BEST steak I've ever had. And the lobster tail was wonderful as well. DH didn't like it though...surprise. But he agreed that the steak was awesome. And the potato gratin was the best I've ever had. I need that recipe, for real. It was all just amazing. We took our time eating, because it was SO much food. It was getting close to time for Wishes when she came and asked us about dessert. I'd read that they will usually hold it for you until afterwards, but I should have asked because she didn't, so our dessert ended up sitting there the whole time we watched the fireworks. Oh well...if that's the ONLY thing I can complain about, that's pretty good!!! Anyway, the fireworks were amazing. They dimmed the lights (or maybe they were already that dim, I don't remember), and I THINK they piped in the music. A lot of people went outside, but we decided to stay in and watch from our table. Towards the end a couple came and stood RIGHT in front of our window, and they saw us sitting there. But oh well. It was awesome, SO romantic.

I had the almond crusted cheesecake, which pretty much looked like this except it didn't say Happy Birthday obviously. (stealing pics again, sorry)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/narcooseecheesecake.jpg

SO good, but SO rich. I LOVE me some cheesecake, but I could only manage a few bites. And the homemade cream was awesome. Now DH is a chocolate fanatic, and the only thing that really appealed to him was the Warm Chocolate Almond Gateau. He liked it, but didn't love it. We were STUFFED by this point. We handed over our card (SO cool), and headed out. I had left my phone sitting on the table, I think I had been sending pic msgs to someone. Anyway, we were almost back to the lobby and we heard someone yelling..it was our waitress running after us w/my phone! Gah! I thanked her over and over, for running after me and all. Very nice. We walked around the pool area and just took in the whole night. It was so beautiful and we were having an amazing time. I remember thinking that I didn't want our trip to end!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007153.jpg

We walked around in the lobby some, but it was getting late, about 9:30 or so, and we had missed going in the huge Gingerbread House. It was just closing down. We could see it obviously, but couldnt get very close. All the stores were closed as well, which I had wanted to go in, but oh well. We walked around some and took pictures, the GF is so beautiful, I don't know that it is our style though. Maybe one day.

We took the monorail back to the Contemporary, and then boated back to WL. We walked around a little bit, took our time going up to our room. I think we talked about going swimming, but it had cooled off a lot and our plans for the next day were to do nothing BUT swim, so we just went on upstairs to hang out, sit on the balcony, and watch some tv before bed. A wonderful end to a WONDERFUL day.

Next up...relaxation at WL and Kona!!

You're right, there are SO many restaurants to go to. If you can swing it, totally go. It's SO romantic, perfect for a honeymoon. It was VERY worth the 2 credits. We had initially booked Artist Point as well, but decided not to do 2 of the 2 credit meals in one trip so canceled that one. It worked out perfectly for us, it was SO much food anyway, we ended up not using one CS anyway. We prob won't do the dining plan again though, just not worth it to us, but we will DEFINITELY go back to Narcoosee's!

I want to eat at narcoose's now! lol! great chapter, cant wait for more

You have to go!!! I think I have made my point by now, lol, but seriously, I can't say enough good things about it.

Thanks for reading!

Time for updates!!!

Before I start the next day though, I forgot to mention one AWESOME thing from our night at Narcoosee's. When we got back to the room, we saw this...

Turndown service!! And we hadn't even requested it, I had kinda forgot about it. But I was so excited, they left this little card with a little saying on it and chocolates, and the lights were dimmed. SO SO COOL. I loved it.

So moving on, I just had to go back and add that in!!!

Friday, December 14th

This was most definitely one of my favorite days of the trip. We had no real plans except our ADR for Kona that night. We planned on sleeping in some, relaxing, and just whatever else we felt like doing. I can't even remember the last time I went to Disney and had a whole park free day, so I was way excited about this. And I think both DH and I NEEDED that day. We didn't even really go early morning to late night every other day in the parks, but still...the crowds were getting a bit bigger and we just needed a break. So a break we had!!

We slept in a bit, thought it prob wasn't that late, maybe 9 or so. And just kinda lounged around for awhile. Watched some tv and relaxed. I loved sitting out on the balcony in the mornings and watching the ducks, and people walking around, just watching everything, with no rush or anywhere to go.

We went down to the pool around 10 or so (I dont have notes so I'm trying to remember :confused3 ) after filling our mug up and put all our stuff on our chairs. The weather was nice, it was pretty warm but partly cloudy. And not too crowded that morning.

We swam around for awhile, and DH started talking about wanting to go down the slide, since every other time we'd been in the pool it was at night and the slide was closed. So he decided to go do that...I wasn't sure yet, didn't want to look crazy, the only adults on the slide. He came barreling down the slide, legs up in the air, it was hilarious. But he loved it and went again and again, and was begging me to go. So I finally did it, and LOVED it. So we did that for awhile, going down the slide repeatedly. There were other adults as well so we weren't the only nuts.

some pics hanging out at the pool...

We just swam and relaxed, we'd get out and lay in the sun for awhile and then get back in. There was a family of ducks there we had seen during the week, and everyone was going crazy over the babies. I've seen quite a few pictures of them in other TRs here. Well they came over to the pool at one point and were getting in the water, the babies kept swimming around up in the gutters. It was so cute. The lifeguards were trying to keep the kids away from them, telling everyone not to touch them, unfortunately people don't listen  They would say repeatedly do NOT pick them up or touch them, it upsets the mother and she might leave them, and some other reasons. anyway...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007174.jpg

They were SO freakin cute, I loved watching them everyday and they were so adorable in the water.

DH went and got lunch from "The Fork", I think we both just had burgers and fries. Not alot of variety in The Fork, but thats ok. We were going to Kona that night! We swam and hung out at the pool until probably 2 or so, and decided to go over to DTD since we didn't get to spend too much time there on Monday.

I must also add here that we had tried to get reservations for a carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness one night. We had added that to our Disney Honeymoon Registry, and didn't realize that some very wonderful people :goodvibes had gotten that for us, so I never reserved a spot. I thought this night would be a great night for it, after dinner, so I tried calling again when we got back to our room after swimming, but no luck, I had tried just about everyday and nothing was available. :guilty:

We headed back up to the room after swimming, but the sign was on our door that they were cleaning, which was fine, we just wandered around for awhile taking pictures and exploring, which was something I wanted to do anyway. And I ended up talking to my BFF for a little bit too, I hadn't talked to her since we left the wedding, so we had to catch up!!! We sat outside on the balcony facing the pool, waiting on our room to be done.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007168.jpg

So we showered and got ready, and headed to DTD for a few hours until time for our ADR at Kona. I wanted to get a few things we had seen earlier in the week and just walk around some more. So we hung out there for awhile, and then headed to the Polynesian fairly early for our reservation time so we would have time to explore some there. I knew DH would LOVE this resort, as much as he loves all things Tiki and tropical. Of course he did, and would love to stay here one day, its just out of our budget right now. One day though!!!

We went ahead and checked in, got our pager and walked around for a little while until we were called. I was SO excited for this meal, it was prob 2nd to my anticipation for Narcoosee's.

I need to get off here, will try to update more later.

Next up-Kona!!! And a beautiful view of Wishes!

You took lots of great shots there at WL. Those baby ducks are irresistible! How cute! That's a bummer about the sleigh ride, but I can't wait to hear about your dinner at Kona. We haven't ever been there and I heard so many good reviews about it that we put it on the schedule for our next trip. :cool1:

I'm thinking it's the one over by Toontown and Tomorrowland. It goes right along the path of the train. There's hardly ever anyone around there so it's a nice quiet spot and a good shortcut!

Hey guys, glad everyone is still reading with me!!! I am PLANNING on getting the next update up in the next day or so. I am FINALLY on Spring Break this week, whooooooooohooooooooooo!

It's Masters Week here in Augusta, any golf fans might know what that is. Basically its when our lovely city is overrun with tourists, media, golfers, celebrities, etc etc etc. It's nuts. Most people leave town, but, DH has to work so I just get a week off interning and school to RELAX. We live right off the main street through town though, right down the street from the golf course actually, so it's going to be NUTS. Tonight we went out for a littleb it and the traffic is crazy, there are vendors set up EVERYWHERE, scalpers, etc. crazy. anyway. So I'm planning on relaxing this week and hopefully getting more trip report done! yay!!!!

Not an actual update, but I have awesome news (for me anyway!) I found out about free dining in September today w/the Disney Visa, so I called to find out just about how much it would be and holy crap I WANT TO GO!!! So I called DH at work, and he is excited too, we are going to talk about it tonight when he gets home. I might be able to pull this one off!!! It would just be a long weekend, August 29-Sept 1st, 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. But I dont care!!! It's Disney AND free dining!!! We'll see...I'm trying not to get my hopes up, b/c if it doesnt work I still have December (hopefully!) to look forward to! Just had to share with my fellow DISney lovers!!!!

I just found this TR and am loving it! We left WL just a few days before you arrived this Dec. and loved it. I noticed more honeymooners there than at any other resort we've stayed at. (although I was only about 10 when I stayed at GF, so I guess that one doesn't count) It seems like you all are having a great time so far! I'm glad you got to relax a bit! I LOVE your nighttimecastle shots!!! They came out beautifully!:thumbsup2 Hope you get your free dining! that sounds great!!!

Thanks for reading! We had a room discount on our name too but it obviously wasn't much, it came out TWICE as much than free dining.

Good luck! I'm missing free dining by one week.

Thanks! Hey, at least you have a trip planned, Disney at all is better than nothing! :goodvibes

*UPDATE*
So, I don't think we are going to be able to make it in September. It was a pretty good price, but still more than we need to spend right now...it might mess up us being able to go back for our anniversary in December and I'd MUCH rather go for that. Why go for that weekend when we can go for a week in December?? :cool1: We don't need tickets, and we would have to add them to get the free dining, so it really just didn't make sense.
I was kinda sad about it last night but I'm cool now. The thing is, we did the DDP for our honeymoon, and I'll talk about it more at the end of the TR, but we really didn't find it to be that great for us, and probably wouldn't do it again. So even though it's free, just doesnt make all that sense. I'd still LOVE to make a trip back before December, I've ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted to go for MNNSHP, so maybe a quick trip in October or something. anyway, just wanted to add that...I'm working on the next installment now, so look for it soon!!!!! :goodvibes

Friday, December 14th, Part 2

So when I left off we had just gotten to the Poly and were waiting for our pager to go off for Kona!! I was very excited, I love asian inspired food and I had been looking at menus before we left and Kona just sounded SO good to me. We walked around the gift shop upstairs at the Poly, I LOVE this resort, have I mentioned that yet? We are planning on staying here one day. I did a few years ago when my mom and I took my 2 cousins...we did a split stay at the POly/Boardwalk. I LOVED the Poly. Loved the layout of the rooms, the closeness to MK, the monorail, the atmosphere, EVERYTHING. Anyway. Our pager went off after maybe 10 minutes or so, yay!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/kona.jpg

We were seated kind of in the middle, at a table with a booth on one side and the chairs on the other...in that picture, our table was actually the one on the end with the booth on the side facing. I like getting four person tables because then we can sit next to each other. aww. So DH and I got to sit together on the booth side. There were 2 young couples at the table to our right, which was cool...but the tables in this area were SO close...it was just kind of awkward. I felt like we were all listening to each other's conversations, and they were watching us...which I'm sure they weren't, it was just weird? Anyway. Our waiter was awesome, wish I remembered his name. But he was so friendly and was asking us questions and all about where we were from and about our honeymoon and all. I really wanted a good tropical drink, and he reccomended a really good one, sadly I have NO idea what it was. SO good though.

He brought us the bread which was AMAZING. YUM, I could eat some of that right now!! It had the best butter with it...with macadamia nuts in it. YUMMO.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/konabread.jpg

I decided to get the duck potstickers and DH got the sticky wings for appetizers.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/konawings.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/konapotstickers.jpg

They were both YUMMY. We split them...DH didn't like the wings as much, said the sauce was funny, so he had more of the potstickers. I loved them both, I could make a meal out of those!

For our meal, I had the Coconut Almond Chicken and DH had the Shrimp and Scallops. Now mine was ok, but not great. I only ate maybe 3 or 4 bites. I thought I'd LOVE it, as much as I love coconut and almonds, makes sense right? But it was just too sweet or something, just didn't like the taste. But it came with this awesome salad underneath, with a honey lime dressing and pieces of strawberries, pineaapple, nuts, so I ate most of that. Yum.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/konachicken.jpg

DH LOVES shrimp and scallops, and I tasted his and it was GREAT! But it had the wasabi cream sauce on it and he discovered he hates wasabi, so he didn't love that. Didn't stop him from eating it all though!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/konashrimpscallops.jpg

So even though I was a bit disappointed in the chicken, I couldnt complain, our appetizers were so good, I was already pretty full so I didn't care!!

I already KNEW I wanted the Banana Chocolate Creme Brulee, I LOVE LOVE anything banana, ESP with chocolate! And I figured DH would get the Kiauea Torte, chocolate lover that he is. And he did! Oh man, that creme brulee was SO SO good. Favorite desert of the week by far!!! I ate the WHOLE thing.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/konabananabrulee.jpg

And of course DH loved his as well, it's CHOCOLATE! He still talks about it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/konatorte.jpg

SO all in all, a WONDERFUL meal, no complaints. And we will defintely be going back there. I'll just get something other than the chicken!!

After we handed over our card and left Kona, we walked around some more at the Poly and I showed DH how beautiful it was. He loved it just as much as I do and said he can't wait to stay there one day. We walked out to the pool area, there were tons of kids swimming and having a blast. It's SO beautiful out there at night. I really wanted him to see the beach and how pretty it was though. Back when I stayed there w/my cousins and mom, we sat out on the beach one night watching the Electrical Water Parade, and this was just a few months after DH and I had started dating. He ended up calling me, and I sat on a chair and talked to him while watching the parade and then Wishes from across the water. IT was just so pretty, and I've always remembered that and told him about it. So I wanted him to see how awesome it was out there. So we walked down the beach a little, away from all the people hanging out, and found a chair to sit in together. The Water Parade was already over, but we could see it moving way out by the Contemporary. After a few minutes Wishes started at the MK. It was BEAUTIFUL of course. And I have no pictures...I left my camera in my bag and just enjoyed being there with DH and watching the fireworks. So SO cool. One of the best moments of the trip. Seeing a theme here? My favorite times were just sitting with DH and soaking in all the Disney atmosphere, enjoying being newleyweds in my FAVORITE place on earth. Priceless.

After the fireworks we sat for a little bit, just enjoying being there and talking. We still had 2 more days at Disney, and then our day in St. Augustine. Plus we had our life at home waiting...we never lived together before we got married so we were ecstatic to have our new life waiting at home, living in our beautiful apartment and starting our married lives together.

When we were ready to go we started talking about how to get back to WL. I LOVE the monorail, and we could ride it to the Contemporary and then boat back to WL, but I know how much DH loves riding the boats. So we decided to go get on a boat to the MK and then catch that boat back to WL. We walked over to the dock and only had to wait maybe 10 minutes for a boat. THere was hardly anyone going back and forth from the MK, I THINK it was extra magic hours and it was open late. Or maybe it was the Christmas party that night, I don't remember. We took a few pictures while we waited...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007155-1.jpg

When we got to the MK there was already a boat there for the WL so we ran over and jumped on. We were back at the WL quickly. It's kinda fuzzy what we did this night when we got back...I THINK we went up and changed and put our swimsuits on and got our mug and went to the hot tub. But I'm not positive. I LOVED going in the hot tub at night, when the steam would rise from the water and you could see the Lodge all lit up, and listen to the sound of the boats coming across the water. Awesome. Eventually we headed back to our room to shower and get ready for bed. We had 2 days left and wanted to take advantage of every day!!!

Next up: Epcot day!!

It was such a great day, the most relaxing by far!! Kona was just one credit, awesome!!!! It was a close second to Narcoosee's, although the atmosphere wasn't nearly as romantic, the food was just great. For one credit!!! Try to go if you can, it's great!!!

Saturday December 15th

I woke up excited this day to go to Epcot, but also sad, because our trip was getting closer to the end. We had 2 days left, plus one day in St. Augustine...but I judge our trips by whether we have more than half the trip left, or it's half over. Is that weird? Please tell me someone else does that, starts getting sad when it's halfway over. Well with just 2 days left I was definitely sad!!!

Our plan for the day was to spend the whole day at Epcot and spend a lot of time in World Showcase. The older I get the more interesting I find it, and I was really looking forward to just take it all in and enjoy the little details like I've seen other people do in their TRs. And DH had only been here once before, and we didn't see hardly any of the countries so I wanted to do that for him too.

So we got there at a decent time that day, and started out in Futureworld. We SADLY passed by Spaceship Earth. I HATED walking by it and not being able to ride...it's probably my favorite ride at Epcot, and I was so upset that it wasn't open yet.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007158.jpg

Now the details are a little fuzzy b/c I didn't take great notes this day...so I'll try and remember. I think we went first to Journey Into Imagination, because I just love it. We rode with Figment first, and didn't stop to do more pictures afterwords in Imageworks b/c it was packed in there. Then we went to do Honey I Shrunk the Audience, b/c DH had LOVED it earlier in the week. I enjoy it too...but I so pull my feet up before the "mice" run out. I know it's fake, but I can't stand the feeling.

Then we went over to the Land, and rode Living with the Land again. I just love it. DH had REALLY been wanting to ride Soarin', and I was feeling somewhat better about getting on it. Of course the standby line was insane, over an hour at least, so we decided to get Fastpasses. They were for later that afternoon and since we planned on being there all day anyway, it was cool. Then we went to ride Ellen Energy's ride, I know alot of people don't like it but I really enjoy it, I have since it opened when I was in like elementary or middle school. Its long, but it seemed really humid this day so it was nice to relax.

We had ADRs at the Coral Reef for 1:20...I really wanted a dinner, I dont like eating a big lunch but that was all I could get, and I REALLY wanted to go to Coral Reef. So we headed over to the Seas, and still had some time so we rode Nemo first, LOVE it...

I got a little camera happy...I felt like I hadn't taken enough pictures the whole time so I was making and effort to take more...and I just LOVE Nemo.

By the time we got off the ride it was time for our lunch reservations!! So we had to go out of the Seas and back in on the other side for the Coral Reef.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007185.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007186.jpg

We checked in, and I requested a tank side table. They said it might take a few minutes longer, duh, which was fine. One of my main reasons wanting to eat there was to sit next to the fishes!!!! We sat and waited maybe 10-15 minutes and our table was ready. I was really worried we'd be in the back, and NOT have a tankside table. The hostess walked up some stairs, and my heart sank, we were headed towards the back! But then we went back down...she was going around something, not sure, but she led us to our two person table RIGHT NEXT TO THE TANK!!

There was another 2 person table right next to ours, pretty close, which was kinda weird. The 2 ladies sitting there were already done w/their meal, so I knew they would be leaving fairly soon. I couldnt complain b/c I got the table I wanted, but it was awkward sitting that close to 2 other people. I felt like we should be including them in our conversation they were so close!!!

Some pictures of our view...

Our waiter came over shortly...he was nice, a little weird though?? I dont remember his name...or what it was about it, but I remember DH and I were creeped out by him. I think he was just one of those that just talks too much and too close, or something. anyway. He brought out our bread, which was YUM.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/coralreefbread.jpg

I just realized, all the restaurants we went to that week had the BEST bread. mmmm. DH ordered the Sea and Land for his appetizer, which was chilled shrimp and barbequed beef skewer, and I had the Creamy Lobster soup!! SO GOOD!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/coralreefappet.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/coralreefsoup.jpg

Dh liked his ok, I LOVED that soup. I could have had a big bowl of that for lunch!!! We both ordered the NY strip for our meal.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/coralreefsteak.jpg

I'm usually not a big steak person, but nothing else really appealed to me and I LOVED the steak at Narcoosee's so I guess I was hoping it would compare. It was pretty good...better than most restaurants where I've had steak. But def. not my fave. I also have to add that about this time I started feeling REALLY bad. So that prob had alot to do with how I felt about the food.

I had started getting a headache earlier, and just felt kinda icky, but I tried to ignore it and thought maybe I was just hungry. I didn't really eat any breakfast since I knew we were eating a bigger lunch. Well after eating some I started feeling worse and worse, just completely icky and nauseous. I was hoping it would go away eventually, I took some aspirin and tired to enjoy our meal.

At one point this guy was floating around, and came and rested RIGHT NEXT to us...

He had been swimming around and the kids sitting closer to the tank had been watching him and trying to take pictures. So it was cool that he came right next to us and we got to see him, but I"m sure you can imagine what happened next...

We had kids all OVER us. There was a bigger table behind us, next to the tank, with 3 or 4 kids, all under the age of 12 or so. They RAN to see the stingray, and were climbing all OVER our table. They were standing on the backs of our chairs, leaning over our table, and YELLING in our ears, taking tons of pictures w/flashes going off everywhere, it was NUTS. And I don't mind children at all...hello I want to work with them! I'm interning now as an elementary school counselor! But I was feeling pretty awful and the parents of these kids could care less the way they were obviously all up on our table. ugh. I didnt want to make a big deal though, and eventually they went away. But I realized then the negative of having a tank side table!!!!

At one point I had to get up and visit the restroom, I felt like my food was going to come right back up. It didn't though, and I went and sat back down. DH had ordered our dessert, he of course had the Chocolate Wave, my little chocoholic. I got the Bailey's and Jack Daniel Mousse...nothing else sounded very good, and I knew DH would eat it. I took a few bites, it was pretty good, like a really good chocolate pudding. And DH LOVED his wave, of course.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/coralreefjackdanielsmousse.jpg

We had been talking about what to do afterwards...I REALLY wanted to feel better and enjoy the rest of the day, but I just felt horrible. SUCKED. Dh talked me into leaving for a little bit, going back to the hotel to just rest for a little bit and then come back. I didnt want to, but figured it was a smart idea. I knew I wanted to see Illuminations that night, I hadnt seen it in years, and DH had never seen it. Me being the obsessive planner was thinking in my head how long we could go back for and still have time to come back and see the countries before Illuminations. So we walked back towards the front to get on the monorail and ride to the Contemporary and then boat back to WL. On the way to the front a guy at one of the booths stopped us to tell us congratulations after seeing our pins. Then he waved us over to show us something. He pulled out a phone, and I knew what he was going to do. He said we had a phone call, and handed us the phone. Only it wasn't the honeymoon one, it was the anniversary one! haha. I didn't say anything though, I just told him thank you and we were on our way out. We got back to WL fairly quickly, and went up to our room to lay down. Dh said he was feeling kinda tired, so we should just rest and maybe take a nap. I never take naps so I DID NOT want to, but was hoping it would help. I have to admit it was kinda nice lying there in our cool room, with the faint sound of the pool and water outside our window. Naps are especially fun at Disney! We closed the curtains and laid now to rest and hopefully wake up refreshed and ready to go!!

NEXT UP: Will we make it back to Epcot for Illuminations???

I do this too. I know exactly what you're sayin'!

I know what you mean. But for me, it's the older I get the more I look forward to eating my way around the WS. I have always been a picky eater. Now I see what I've been missing!

I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well! Hopefully you make it back for Illuminations.

And I love all of the Epcot attractions, even the "lame" ones. I still miss Horizons and World of Motion.

Thanks for the update! Sorry you weren't feeling well that day! I just love the Nemo ride!!! I was so upset that Spaceship Earth was closed, but riding Nemo for the 1st time made up for it. What is it about Coral Reef that makes kids (and their parents for that matter) lose all semblance of manners? When we were there, we had one of those curved booths right across from the tank...parents would herd their kids down and shove them in between the tables right by the tanks to take pics and let them see the fish. I felt so bad for the people actually trying to eat at those tables. I can kind of understand the kids going down, but for the parents to encourage it was rude.

I can't wait to hear more....hope you got back for illuminations.

I hope you were able to feel better.

That really really upsets me to hear about those children climbing on the back of your chairs to see in the tank. Where were these children's parents? It's not like y'all were eating at the Electric Umbrella or something like that ... it was the Coral Reef. I am just imagining the same thing occurring during my honeymoon at the Coral Reef when the diver is displaying the message that I prepared for my fiance ... lol.

Thats awful that you were so sick. Luckily this was a one day thing for me, but it still sucked!

I'm not really surprised that other people have complained about the kids at Coral Reef. I have no problem with it being a family restaurant, but I just can't believe how parents let their kids behave. I know I can't say all that much bc I don't have children, but still...I will never let my kids act like that and climb all over strangers, even at Disney!

I totally do this...with Disney, with cruises, with everything!!!

SO glad I'm not the only one!!

It was cool being able to sit there on our honeymoon, but I think if we ever go back we'll just have a regular table, lol. Too much of a pain. I completely understand the kids being so excited, but that was a bit much.

I hope you were able to feel better.

The parents were sitting at the table, right behind us, watching the whole time. I dont remember how they acted, but I know that they said anything to them about being rude or getting off of us.

Hopefully it won't happen to you!!! Many of the tables right next to the tank are just 2 person tables, so maybe you won't have a wild family right there!! Thats so cool you are doing the message, I wanted to do that but I just kinda ran out of time and never got it done. I've seen pictures of other people do it and its SO cool! You will have SO MUCH FUN on your honeymoon!

Saturday December 15th-Part 2

So when I left off, we had gone back to our room at WL to take a nap and rest, since I was feeling badly. We had closed the curtains and laid down to sleep for a little bit, hoping I’d wake up much better, to spend the rest of the afternoon/evening at Epcot.

Well, I did wake up feeling MUCH better, but we slept longer than we’d meant to!!! I woke up first, and went to look outside, and realized it was darker than I expected. I looked at the clock and we’d been asleep for close to THREE hours!!! It was after 6, and I really wanted to have a lot more time at Epcot before Illuminations! So I jumped on DH to get him up, and we quickly cleaned up and ran out to the bus to Epcot. Ordinarily we’d have ridden the boat to MK, then monorail to Epcot…much more fun that way…but I was in a hurry!!!

Thankfully we got to Epcot pretty quickly. On the way in, I was telling DH how sad I was, again to be walking in and not going straight to Spaceship Earth. Before we’d left I had read on the Dis that there was a good chance it would randomly open sometime during the week of our honeymoon, but that obviously hadn’t happened.

Anyway…we walked up towards SE, and saw people running….and then a CM standing in front of the wall waving people in. IT WAS OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t think I’ve ever run that fast…I pulled DH behind me and TOOK OFF! For some reason I was worried if we didn’t get in RIGHT THEN, it would suddenly close again and we’d miss our chance!!! Oh my gosh words cannot describe how excited I was. Apparently they had JUST opened up, bc the line was pretty short, and began growing longer and longer after we went in. I had to call my mom and brag about how awesome it was that we were getting on Spaceship Earth!!!

I know that the rehab is more complete now…so things are different, but I really liked the changes. When we got home and I was reading on the Dis about some people’s reactions, I was surprised. I liked the new narration, and the new scenes were AWESOME. Great updates…the ride was just old and needed that freshening up. I took a TON of pictures, lol, so here’s a few…

The end was weird b/c it obviously wasn’t finished and we didn’t get the whole finale with the screens in our car. But it was a cool idea and I liked the concept. I think I probably talked DH’s ear off the whole time, yapping about how excited I was and pointing out all the changes to him, since he’d just been on it once, the May before.

Anyway, we got off and didn’t really spend any time in Futureworld b/c the plan was to spend time in the countries before Illuminations started. So we walked pretty fast to the back, discussing where to eat dinner.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007215-1.jpg

We were both feeling hungry, and knew we were running out of time. We had talked about Mexico…but weren’t really feeling it. We did stop in for a few minutes to look around, I LOVE that pavilion. So pretty.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007218-1.jpg

I had actually made an ADR for the TS there, but dropped it after reading reviews and realizing we’d MUCH rather use credits on a better restaurant. We walked to Norway, I wanted to ride Maelstrom since DH had never ridden, but it was closed. BOO. On to China….hmmm…DH LOVES Chinese, and I knew he is WAY too picky to go for the rest of the WS restaurants except for American Adventure, and that’s boring. So, Chinese it is. We both got the Orange Chicken, I’d had it before and really like it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/orangechicken-1.jpg

We both also got the ginger ice cream for our dessert, bc that’s all they really have! But we were both really too full to eat it so we just had a few spoonfuls. It was pretty good, interesting, but good. So on we went, didn’t really hang around China too much, did a quick walk thru the big store there. I was noticing all the people already lining up for Illuminations, which was making me anxious. We had SO much left to see, and really no time. This was by far the most stressful part of the week. DH had never seen the show, I hadn’t even seen it it prob 3 years, we just always missed it. And probably the MOST important thing I wanted to do that week was spend a lot of time exploring World Showcase, and we just didn’t have time. So I was not the happiest camper that night unfortunately. I wish I’d just let it go and enjoyed myself more. End of rant.

So we walked through the countries, didn’t really stop a lot, although we did spend some time in the big store in Japan, I LOVE. I got a few little Hello Kitty things, some pens and a water bottle, I’m obsessed and there is really no where around here to buy that stuff. Oh and we did stop for a few minutes at the AA, the Candlelight Processional was just starting and I REALLY wished then that we’d done it. Again, even a week isn’t enough time! And I didn’t think we’d be into it…I’d seen it years ago, when I was like 12 and wasn’t crazy about it. But I realized that my interests have changed drastically since I was a kid and we really should have, bc DH really thought it was cool too. We got to see Andy McDowell as the narrator, which was cool. We watched for a few minutes, but there were SO many people standing in the back it was hard to see, so we kept on walking.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007223-1.jpg

Now another one of my goals for the night was to try at Drinking Round the World. Yeah, obviously wasn’t going to happen. But I DID want to try one of the frozen drinks in France I’d read about. And DH LOVES Sapporo Japanese beer, and we looked EVERYWHERE for it, I could have sworn they sold it, but no. So we made it to France and I got my drink…it was a lemon Citron vodka slushy…YUM.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007225-1.jpg

And DH wanted his beer, so we made it around to the Rose and Crown and went to the bar inside. Bad decision. Apparently it was college drinking night or something. This same group had been a the slushy stand, about 10 kids, girls and guys. While we were waiting, one of the girls started talking about some crazy stuff, stuff I wouldn’t be talking out loud about in front of children at Disney. Some of her favorite leisurely activities and pasttimes, such as with who/how she likes to shower and other sexual preferences. ???!!!!. Gross. The woman in front of us was with her two small children and turned around to us and was like "Seriously? Are you kidding me…she seriously just sad that?" HILARIOUS. She started getting louder so the girl could hear her. It was nuts, and so awkward. So onto the Rose and Crown…same group of kids lined up at the bar taking shots. Multiple, large shots. Strange, or is that just me?? Anyway, we had to wait FOREVER, the place was PACKED, and DH finally gave up, after being ignored by the bartender who was only serving all these college kids.

We went outside, and finally found a beer stand b/w there and Canada. By this time, I was grumpy, tired, hot, and just sick of the annoying people. It was only like 30 more minutes till Illuminations, and I had NO idea where to go, all the good spots were taken. I’ve always watched it w/my family from the front of the lagoon, near those 2 gift shops. We passed the stage in Canada and saw an empty bench, so decided to park it there. There was a tree in front, but we could see the ball on the water and I figured we’d still have a good view. So we just sat and chilled for awhile, talking, me getting sadder knowing we only had one day left, and this one just wasn’t all I’d hoped it would be. And we really wanted to get to MK and MGM again, so coming back was kinda out of the question. So, I shook it off, told myself we would be back sometime, and not to worry. It was nice though, to just sit and relax and think about how much fun we’d had.

The show started, and I realized we didn’t have the best seat, but it wasn’t too bad. I hate having to sit and wait for 2 hours just to get a great place to watch, so it wasn’t back for getting it 30 minutes before the show. DH really loved it, I didn’t expect him to but he said afterward it was his favorite out of all the nighttime shows. So YAY for that. I really loved the holiday finale as well, fantastic. I tried taking pictures but they just didn’t come out that great….

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007235-1.jpg

Afterwards, we sat for awhile, watching the crowds swarm by. I get claustrophic and I wanted no part of that. We sat for maybe 10-15 minutes, and then decided to walk the reverse way around World Showcase to let the crowd really slow down. LONG walk, but great idea. I’d read about other people doing it, and I really recommend it. We were already tired, but we walked slow, and just enjoyed the quiet and all the lights around the water. Since we walked so fast through France before, I really enjoyed seeing all the lights there. The longer we waked, the less people we saw since almost all of them were going the opposite direction, and looking at us like we were nuts. Oh well.

It was incredibly romantic and a relaxing end to such a stressful night. Epcot is beautiful at night, and finally being away from thousands of people and in the quiet was just awesome. We passed a few couples who were just sitting alone on benches and stuff, very sweet. By the time we got around to Mexico, all we really saw were a few CMs walking around, so it was a little eerie to see it so deserted. But by the time we got back up to Futureworld there were quite a few people still walking around and in the gift shops. We walked through Mousegears, just for the fun of it, and then headed out. Taking a few pictures on the way out.

We headed out to the bus stop…we were so tired and knew it would be faster than monorail to MK/to Contemp/boat back to WL. And I don’t remember now if we did anything when we got back…possibly went to refill the mug, maybe went to gift shop, swim possible? But I’m pretty sure we just went up to bed. Well, actually I think I did clean up the room a little bit and start organizing some of our stuff so packing wouldn’t be SO bad the next night. But we were pooped and were asleep pretty quickly. Ready for our last day at Disney.

Up next: Our last day  , and O’Hana!

Sorry that your time at EPCOT just was not enough... that is a hard feeling to know that the week is winding down and there are things you cannot fit in. Glad you saw Illuminations and got to ride Spaceship Earth!

Yes that end of the trip stress does suck, not fun at all. But I really couldn't complain, we had the BEST trip. And we DID get to see SE and the show, so all in all, not a bad evening.

And I see your trip is coming up SOON! You must be SO excited!

Sounds like a great day! I can't wait to hear about Ohana!

It was a great day!!! Despite being rushed, we did alot of fun things, had a great lunch somewhere I'd always wanted to go, and still had one more day!!!!

Sunday December 16th

Our last Disney day. SO SAD!!!!!! I woke up so depressed and sad that it was our last day at Disney. I wasn't quite sure when we'd make it back, which is just the worst feeling ever. But at the same time I was still kinda ready to come home. DH and I had never lived together so I was excited to come back home and begin married life, plus I have to admit, as much as I LOVE Disney and can't get enough, the later in the week it was the busier it was and we were getting tired of the crowds. So the plan for the day was just to soak as much in as we could, and enjoy the day and not think too much about leaving. So off to the Magic Kingdom!!

We got ready, ate our quick breakfast on the balcony, and headed out to the boat for the last time. I know I kept making silly depressing comments about how much I'd miss that boat dock, and riding around that corner and that first glimpse of the Magic Kingdom I loved so much. Where our fabulous meal was the other night...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007253.jpg

It was a bit cooler this day, cooler than it had been all week and I was a bit worried we'd get cold later that night. Our plan was to spend most of the day at MK, and then we had an early reservation at Ohana's around 6, and then try to make it over to MGM to see Fantasmic one more time, as well as try to see the Obsourne lights which we still hadn't seen. We didn't plan on going back to the room, but I was wishing we had brought jackets by the time we got to MK. Oh well!

We headed first to Tommorowland...that tends to be our regular route, I can't think of a time where we've started on the opposite side of the park. Onto Buzz first...no line....

the first time DH beat me BAD, and then we got right back in line to go again since there was hardly a line. This time....

Then upon DH's request, we went on Carousel of Progress. I loved that he was so fascinated by one of my most favorite shows, that I didn't expect him to love.

Then of course, the Peoplemover. Love it. We may have ridden multiple times....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007265.jpg

Walked around some more, and then headed towards Fantasyland.

He was fascinated with this thing...boys...

Definitely much more crowded today than it was our first MK day. I had read the closer to Christmas it got, the busier, and it was obvious!! There was a short wait at Mickey's Philharmagic, so we went there next. LOVE it, as always. Then we decided that since we were eating an early dinner, at Ohana's no less, LOTS of food, we'd go ahead and eat lunch early so we'd be hungrier later. And we still had 3 CS credits left to use! DH wanted to go to Pinnochio's, since he LOVED the Philly cheese steak sandwich I'd gotten the first day. So we both got that, he got something chocolate again and I got the cannoli, which looked SO good...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/pinnocannoli.jpg

Since it was a little before noon, they weren't too busy, although I still couldn't get a table overlooking IASM, I tried to the first day too. But one of the other areas was empty so I got a table there, kinda under the stairs and it was nice and quiet and private. Our sandwiches were YUM, I can't believe I'd never been there before this trip! Unfortunately, the cannoli was not so much. I was expecting it to be different...softer maybe? But it was all hard as a brick. DH wouldn't even eat it, and he can usually put away all of my leftovers! I was getting sentimental again, thinking about how we'd been there early in the week, on our first park day, and how excited we were to be starting our trip, and then knowing we were leaving the next day. boo. So off for some more rides to cheer me up!!

Our next stop of course was Small World, I HAD to ride it before we left, it gets more annoying the older I get, but its tradition. And then down to Haunted Mansion. MY FAVORITE. We rode it multiple times. I think we got a Fastpass for Peter Pan in there too, and came back and rode it later? Details are getting foggy...

We walked through some of the shops down through Liberty Square. Went in the Christmas shop, where we picked out some things we wanted, but didn't want to carry them around all night. We had picked out our “Just Married” ornament earlier in the week at the Christmas shop at DTD, and had it personalized and sent to WL, and I had been debating all week on some other ornaments I'd found. We asked about having a few things sent to the front and picked them up when we left, but it would be late that night and we didn't plan on being there that late. Boo.

So we kept on walking, just enjoying the day, TRYING to be happy and upbeat. I really am melodramatic sometimes. Thought about going on Splash Mountain, I haven't been on since I was younger, DH never...but it was just too cool and I didn't want to be wet and cold the rest of the day. But I did take a picture...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007273.jpg

DH really wanted to go to Country Bear Jamboree, so we did. We went on this last May and he just thought it was hilarious. I remember seeing it when I was a kid so I enjoy it too. Some pictures....

Then went on Pirates, just love it. We were getting lucky though, as crowded as the park seemed, the lines were horrible. Worse than the first day, but not ridiculous.

Then headed to the Jungle Cruise since it for once didn't have a crazy long line.

I'm pretty sure we went back and did the Haunted Mansion one last time...I'm obsessed. And then started walking towards the front. I was getting really cold, and decided we needed to either go back to the room, or buy me a sweatshirt. We walked through the stores on Main Street, and I found a few of really nice ones I liked, but just couldn't justify spending $50 on a sweatshirt when I had one at the hotel, and we were just a boat ride away. We decided that if we left now, we would have more than enough time to get back to the hotel and change clothes, and make it to Ohana in plenty of time. We had done everything we really wanted to anyway. So I sadly took another picture...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007279.jpg

and we headed out. Rode the monorail for fun, and stopped at the Contemporary. Dh wanted to explore some, and we had time so we did. Walked in some of the gift shops, and he explored the arcade. He thought it was so cool and wanted to play, but we decided to wait until later. I told him how awesome the arcade used to be when it was downstairs...my mom and I took my cousins there a few years ago. We eventually left and got on a WL boat to go back and get some warmer clothes. We just kinda took our time...for some reason it wasn't taking us as long as it usually did, so we had some time to spare. Walked around the hotel some, relaxed for a minute in the room, and then went back out to get on the boat back to the Contemporary. Then rode the monorail to the Poly. DH in the lobby..

I was getting excited about this meal, after hearing so much about it here, esp from all the Disney brides who have been there for rehearsal dinners. I'd heard nothing but great things about it, and our ADR time would have us there during the early show of Wishes at MK before MVMCP, so I was HOPING we'd get a window seat. When I went to check in I asked for a window, as I did all week, and again was told it may make our wait longer. No problem. We sat down and waited maybe 10 minutes before our buzzer went off. The girl led us around the backside of the grill, which made it look like we were going to be on the far side of the restaurant, and I was getting sad. But we went all the way around, and ended up with the PERFECT table!!!!!

The view was incredible, straight out was the castle, and we had such a beautiful view of the Poly. We were talking about how one day we were going to stay there for SURE. Our waiter was nice, and our food started coming out immediately...

The salad was YUM, the wings eh, and wontons were ok, kinda greasy IMO. DH LOVED the potatoes and ate almost the whole bowl by himself. I loved the peel and eat shrimp as well. About halfway through the meal I started feeling funny, I was thinking NO! I cannot get sick again, it's our last night! By the time our meat skewers came out I had pretty much lost my appetite. I tasted them...the only one that was remotely good to me was the turkey, I think. DH didn't love them either, and he's a big meat eater. He ate them of course though. He was also complaining about not feeling so hot either. Great. Well right before our dessert came out it was about time for Wishes, and I was getting SO excited. I knew our view would be amazing. They kinda dimmed the lights, and I honestly don't remember if they played the music or not. But it was beautiful, I knew how lucky we were to have that table!

It was amazing to watch the fireworks right out the window for the second time that week! After the fireworks, dessert came out next, bread pudding...WOW. SO GOOD.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/ohanadessert.jpg

I would go back JUST for that. I did manage to eat a few bites, even though my tummy was not feeling good at all. DH was looking pretty sad too, not good. We paid and headed out, planning to go to MGM for a few hours. As we got downstairs, DH pretty much ran to the restroom and was in there for a good 15 minutes. I was getting worried, and wasn't sure whether or not to send someone in or not!! He finally came out, said he basically threw everything back up. YUCKO. I still felt pretty bad, so we were debating whether or not to go to MGM, or just go back to the WL and lay around. We walked around some, and then went outside and it was pretty cool, and we decided to go back. I really hated missing my fave show Fantasmic, but I had seen it already that week so I'd be ok. We did completely miss the Osbourne lights, but oh well...we'd be back sometime. We figured it would be better if we went back and took it easy, and rested and got packed up. Then we realized we still hadn't gotten the few Christmas ornaments we needed for gifts. After going back and forth we decided to go to DTD since the Christmas store wasn't too far from the gift shop and I could make it quick. We didn't have to wait on a bus for too long, and we went in. I had been eyeing the wine/cream colored Victorian Mickey and Minnie Christmas stuff all week, and we got both of our parents a little ornament w/Mickey and Minnie in sleigh. And got ourselves a larger figurine of the same thing, which is now in our china cabinet w/all our wedding/honeymoon stuff. It was perfect though since it was our wedding colors as well. It didn't take too long to run in and get them, and then we also realized we had like ALL of our snack credits left. We'd used maybe 3 or 4, on snacks once or twice for us, and a few random little candy things for my cousins. W/so much food on teh DDP, plus getting stuff free, we just couldn't use them! So we decided to run over to Goofy's Candy to use them up before we left. DH decided to get the create your own rice crispy treat, and I got the pretzels. I don't remember exactly what he got...lots of chocolate I know. Mine I got dipped in milk chocolate, drizzled in white chocolate, and then nut sprinkles. I ended up eating them the week after we got home...DH ate his later that night I think. We also picked up a few things for my parents and cousins for Christmas presents, and some other random candy to bring home. By this time we were def. ready to head back to the hotel and crash!

Riding the bus back I think we realized how tired we were, how much fun we'd had, and how sad we were to leave. I was already hinting around at another trip back for our anniversary! ha. When we got back to WL, DH was really wanting to play a few video games. We ran up to the room first to drop off our bags, and get our mug. I filled it up with some hot chocolate and then we went to the arcade for a little while. I forgot my camera but got this one on my phone...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/arcade.jpg

He had a ball. We stayed for maybe 30 minutes, and then were ready for bed. We got back to our room, got our stuff packed up, setting aside one overnight bag for the next day in St. Augustine, and then sat out on the balcony, and got to see the Electrical Water parade one last time. How sad...we started our trip the same way as we ended it. We went to bed early, sad to be leaving, but still excited because we had one last Disney meal, and then one more day of honeymoon in St. Augustine!!!!

Last days always have that dreary tone to them. No matter what you do, it always has that mask of dreariness to it. That is sad to hear about the food that made you sick. But at least you were able to see Wishes.

I've really enjoyed your TR! I hope we get to hear about St. Augustine too!!

Narcoosee's looked soooooo good. I hope to eat there one day.

I got sick the night we returned from our Disney trip in December. We had the dining plan too and I think it was just ALL that rich food. My body just couldn't handle it. It was fun while it lasted though. DH had no trouble, he's my garbage disposal too. :rotfl:

Hi Hillary! I have so enjoyed reading your TR! I don't really remember how I stumbled on to it, but I think you being from GA is what caught my eye. I was hooked from then on! I even went back and read your wedding journal. You had a beautiful wedding! And your dress was lovely. Sorry that you had such a terrible time with the dress shop!
I think you and I have a lot in common...Hello Kitty, being from GA, etc...Anyway, you seem like a really fun person, and I have really enjoyed reading your TR! I can't wait to read more, but am very sad that it's almost over. I am glad to see that you've got some upcoming trips planned! Thanks for taking the time to post...you've done an awesome job! Congrats on your marriage!

Yeah, last days are the worst. It's making me sad just thinking about it and writing about it!! And we were disappointed that last night, we just wanted to get more done than we could. But that's what next trips are for!! :cool1: Thanks for reading!!

Yes I'm totally writing about St. Augustine, it was a great end to our trip.

You MUST try Narcoosee's. Beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere, YUMMY food!! And I totally agree about the food. We loved the convenience of not having to worry about how much things cost and just handing over our card, but we would never spend that much money on food alone, it was just WAY too much food for us. But it was great for our honeymoon.

YAY more readers. I'm sad to end it too, prob why I'm dragging it out.

And very cool about the concert, the ampitheater is way cool, I haven't been to a show there yet but it backs up to the new library and I go there all the time. And Evans is really my neck of the woods, I grew up there, and my parents house is actually right down from the ampitheater! Have a great time!

Monday December 17th

It was a super sad morning, getting up and showering and getting ready for the last time in our beautiful Wilderness Lodge room. I was getting so depressed, realizing our trip was almost over, and we'd never have another trip like this. It was a huge spurge for us to stay at WL, and I knew we wouldn't be back for a loooong time. DH was trying to cheer me up though, with thoughts of ending our trip in St. Augustine, and he was just excited about breakfast.

Now, we are not normally big breakfast eaters. But on vacations/trips occasionally we will. On DH's first Disney trip the previous May, we ate at Trail's End twice. Once for dinner, and then for breakfast before leaving the last day. He LOVED it. They have the standard breakfast items...waffles, grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. And they have this breakfast pizza that he went nuts over. So, when making our ADRs I decided it just wouldn't be right if we didn't end our trip there. We also paid out of pocket for this meal, since it was a pretty cheap table service meal.

So we got all of our stuff together and called bell services to come get it. :sad1: I hated walking out of that room!! Dh had run down to pull the car up so we wouldn't have to wait so long. We had decided to just drive over to Ft. Wilderness since it would be quicker that way, and we could get on to St. Augustine that much faster.

We loaded up the car, and said goodbye to our beloved WL. It will always have a special place in our heart, and we will visit it for years to come. We had just spent one of the best weeks of our lives there and had the best honeymoon we could ever imagined. As we drove under the big arch sign, I had tears in my eyes. I hate leaving!!!

As we drove towards Ft. Wilderness, it hit me that we hadn't gotten a checkout envelope on our door that morning. I knew we usually had in the past, but we had already paid everything in full, and never charged anything to the room so I wasn't sure. I freaked out a bit, and then called the hotel to check. We were good, apparently in that case you don't need the paperwork? I dunno. On to Ft. Wilderness!!!!

We pulled in the lot and then went over to the bus stop to wait on a bus to take us to the Settlement and Pioneer Hall. As we waited it brought back memories of our first Disney trip together in May. We stayed at Ft. Wilderness for a long weekend over Mother's Day w/my parents, it was DH's first trip, so of course we had alot of memories waiting on busses there. We didn't wait long, and were on our way! It was pretty early, about 8:15 or so and there weren't many people out, and we were the only people on the bus. When we got to Trail's End there were just a few other people there. It was SO good, we both ate our fill and didn't plan on eating again until later that afternoon. DH had his fill of breakfast pizza and Mickey waffles, and I stuck to my eggs, bacon, and a waffle or two, and fruit. yuuuummy. We took care of our last meal in Disney, and then headed back out to the bus to take us back to the car.

It was too short of a drive off of Disney property, and as always that "See you soon" sign broke my heart. Very bittersweet.

We easily found out way back to the interstate and headed towards St. Augustine...not hard since that is the same way home. I made it through downtown Orlando and the other side of the city before I started getting sleepy. Early morning+week at Disney+riding in cars just makes me sleepy=I was out for most of the trip. So no pictures! DH woke me up about 30 minutes or so before we got into St. Augustine so he could help me find it. My mom had helped me out and made us a reservation at a bed and breakfast. I didn't make a reservation before we left, we knew we could get one once we got there, and would have a better idea of how much money we should spend. I had called her and asked her to give me some ideas, directions, etc...so she gave us the name of a place and the directions how to get there.

St. Augustine is a bit frustrating to drive around in, lots of one-way streets and narrow streets. Its beautiful but a pain sometimes. We didn't have too hard of a time finding it...http://the Agustin Inn (http://www.agustininn.com)...

beautiful!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/inn.gif

It was so pretty!! We pulled in the 30 minute parking and went to the porch, and had to ring this bell for someone to let us in. We checked in, and found out that my parents had paid for our night already!!! :goodvibes SO sweet. They told us our room wasn't ready, it would be about an hour or so. They gave us a key, they keep the front door locked all the time, and told us where to park, about 2 blocks away. We decided to go park, and just walk around some until the room was ready. So we FINALLY found the parking lot for the inn...we kept passing/missing it, and those dang one way streets, we'd have to go back around again. Hardly any of the inns have connected parking b/c of the way its set up, so they have designated parking lots, if that makes sense.

The one touristy thing we KNEW we wanted to do was the Red Trolley tours. I've done it a few times before, but since DH had never been here before, and is way into history and stuff, I knew he'd like it. The little building where they sold tickets were was not too far away, so we just walked and I showed DH some cool places we'd been, and we went in a few shops along the way. We bought our tickets, which was good for 2 days. We had to wear a red trolley sticker on our clothes, and then we could get on/off the trolley at any of the stops around the city, theres prob at least 20 of them. Went in some more shops, including one of my FAVORITES, BathJunkie (http://bathjunkie.com). I had discovered this on a trip a few years earlier w/some girlfriends, and LOVE it. Basically they sell all kinds of bath/body stuff, but you pick the scent. They have a whole wall full of oils, and you can mix them and customize your own. SO cool. I had bought this bath stuff before, it comes in a squirt bottle and you can either spray it in the bathtub to make it smell, or spray on yourself after a shower/bath, and it makes you smell good and your skin all soft. So I decided to get that, and then they had this "menu" of some of their new scents for the holidays. So I got some kind of peppermint scent, I forget exactly what it was. So cool though. I also got the same scent in a body spray. LOVE that store.

By then it was time we could get our room, so we went back to the car to get our stuff. I had put stuff to stay overnight in just one bag so we wouldnt have to carry ALL our suitcases. We also had some bottles of water/snacks to keep in the room, as well as our pillows. We're those weirdos that take our own pillows everywhere.

We get back, and she gave us another key to get in our room. And tells us we have the best room in the house. whaaaat? Yeah...that picture of the inn, that porch upstairs was OUR PORCH. We had it all to ourselves. She took us up to show us in, and it was BEAUTIFUL!

I totally know where your coming from with the last day sadness. I always manage to get a little weepy on the last day even when I know I'm coming back again soon. When we were on our honeymoon at Disney, leaving that time was the worst.

Wow! Your room in St. Augustine looks just like the internet photo! How often does that happen??? ;) That was really nice of your mom to arrange the wine and strawberries. Wish I had some of that in front of me now! :goodvibes

Hi there Hillary - coming over from the peep's thread. Just read your entire TR, what a wonderful time you guys had in WDW. I too get very sad my last day. I remember the last time we were there which was in 2004 (that in itself is sad) I had sunglasses on when we were checking out and I was literally crying at check out, good thing for sunglasses or I think the CM would have thought something was wrong with me. Anyway love your TR.

Monday December 17th, Part 2

When I left off, we had checked into our BEAUTIFUL room, and were heading out to do some exploring in St. Augustine. The main thing I really wanted to do was ride the trolley around town, because DH is so into history and stuff, I knew he would love it. Plus we could get off at any of the stops and look around more, then get back on a train.

I must mention it was COLD this day. I mean seriously cold, and SO windy. Esp up around the front of the city where the water was. brrr.

We walked a few blocks to Fort Matanzas, which was the fort built to protect the city from Spanish and then later, British invaders. It's also on the waterfront, so of course it was freezing.

(that yellow building across the street is where we ate dinner later that night)

We walked around for awhile, DH wanted to read a bunch of the plaques and stuff, and then we saw a trolley coming to the stop so we decided to hop on. We rode for a few hours, hearing all of the history and seeing all the architecture in the city. I love local history, and even though I've done this tour many times, I always love it. DH loved it as well. We got off at a few of the free museums that were included in our tour, but some of the bigger ones we would have loved to do cost a good bit of money, and we had just spent a week at Disney!!

St. Augustine really is beautiful and so full of history, I reccomend if you ever get the chance to go, DO IT!

I took a bunch of pictures, so here's some of those...

one of the stops was the Ripley's museum. DH has never been to one and we really wanted to go but just didn't have time. We are going next week though while we are in Destin!!

The last stop on the tour was at the Old Florida Museum, which had a general like store, and then an outside area which had some old settlement house replicas and stuff. It was really cool, but there was a big group of kids on a school trip so we didn't stay long.

We ended up having to wait for about 20 minutes for the next trolley, and were getting HUNGRY by then. It was prob about 5 pm, and we hadn't really eaten since breakfast. We sat and talked for awhile, we were both sad our trip was coming to an end, but we were really to that point of exhaustion we were ready to be HOME. We talked to both our parents on the phone while we waited, and debated on what to do that night. We talked about going back and getting cleaned up and going out or something, but seriously, we were both SO tired, we really weren't in the mood. We decided we'd find something quick and nearby the B&B and call it an early night.

After the trolley finally came there was about 30 more minutes left of the tour, and it drove around a few more places and giving more history, though it didn't stop at these places. We got back off the train where we started, at the fort. Right across the street was a mexican restaurant, and DH was SOLD. That is his favorite, and we hadn't had it in awhile. Some pictures...

Very cool restaurant..

I don't remember what we had, but it was yum. After we ate and were full, we were MORE tired so decided to head back to the room and RELAX for the rest of the night.

back home...

It was only about 6 pm, way early for us, but looking back, that night was probably my favorite out of the WHOLE honeymoon. We had so many great nights, but just hanging out, relaxing, with nowhere to go, nothing to worry about, no school, work, everyday stress, etc...it was just amazing. We just laid around for awhile, watched a marathon of "Little People Big World" (one of our favorite shows!!), and hung out. As it got darker we went and sat out on the porch and watched all the people out and about, and we could even kinda hear the music coming from a bar and grill down the street. It was just so relaxing, and seriously the most perfect way to end our trip.

I finished up the rest of my strawberries, seriously the best chocolate covered strawberries I've ever had.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/southernbelle8222/DISNEY%20HONEYMOON/DisneyHoneymoonDecember2007325.jpg

And drank my wine w/them! We also took some time to enjoy the jacuzzi and just savored every moment of our last night of vacation. I miss that night so much, we still talk about it and how great it was. Looking back now, after 7 months, (it took me 7 months to finish this TR??!!!! :scared1: ) living our busy life, me at my internship all day and class every night, and him working full time in a crazy job, only really seeing each other on the weekends, and just running from place to place...its nice to think back to that time and how nice and peaceful it was. We got to bed fairly early, ready to get home the next day.

We got up early and got our stuff together, and since we were in that suite, we got breakfast in bed...I finally took a picture of our food..

SO GOOD!

We decided to drive out to St. Augustine beach before we left. I had been before and we drove on the beach, but we couldn't find where to get down there, so we just drove around and stuff for a little while before leaving.

on the bridge over to the beach...

Then we stopped at the outlets in St. Augustine on the way home. I HAD to visit the Disney outlet! Didn't get as lucky as I have in the past though, but we did find a few little Christmas presents for my cousins, and this really cute WDW pillow for our couch in our office. Then we went by Camping World and found my parent's Christmas present. Then we were ready to head out. It was a looong ride home, we still had about 6-7 hours to drive, and I think I slept a good bit. We were so happy to be home though. We went and got my cat...she had been staying at my parent's still, and came home to our new home together and our new life.

NEXT UP: Final thoughts and wrap up!

Final update and thoughts...

I'm finally back!! I told myself this weekend that I MUST finish this TR up soon!!! Its been over 8 months! Even though the trip itself is done, just wanted to wrap things up!!! So here we go.

1. Disney Dining Plan. For our honeymoon, we really enjoyed it. We got to try quite a few restaurants I had never been to throughout the many trips I'd taken as a child, and we probably never would have gone to these places. We had the luxury of ordering whatever we wanted, and having ALOT of food. And I think the nicest thing about it was not having to worry about how much money we were spending along the way, just swiped our room card and were done, just very convenient.

BUT, I really don't think we'd ever do it again, unless we wind up doing free dining or something, although that's my least favorite time of year to go (too hot!), so I kinda doubt it. It was just WAY too much food for us. And I hate seeing so much food go to waste. We never typically order appetizers/desserts, and while it was really nice for this trip, just not our thing. And we have both commented on how we hated feeling so full all day long, walking around the parks. We for the most part go go go all day, and we just didn't enjoy feeling so full and bloated after all that food!
Not to mention, I just really don't like having to follow a schedule. Again, it was nice for this trip to have nicer meals planned, but typically, we are much more spontaneous and really by the end of the trip having to follow some sort of an itinerary got old, and we did kinda stop and just go w/it. We'd much more prefer to just eat when we're hungry, wherever we wind up. Maybe have one or two planned meals at a few places we really enjoy, but for the most part just enjoy DISNEY, not worry about all of our meals.

Again, I think the DDP is a fantastic thing, and maybe when we have children and go it might make more sense for us, maybe not. I totally see how some people love it and will always use it. But for us, we don't go to Disney just to eat, so I really don't see us using this again. This leads me to...

2. Favorite restaurants. Our top three would probably have to be Narcoosee's, Crystal Palace, and Kona. Narcoosee's is just beautiful, and SO romantic, definitely our most favorite. It was just an amazing experience, and our food was wooonderful. Of course being on the DDP really paid off here, we could order the most expensive things and really go all out. Was a big out of our comfort zone but just wonderful. LOVED it, and have talked about going back on a future trip. We'll see.

Kona is a close second I think. The food was just great. Despite really not liking my chicken, the appetizers and desserts made it worth it. I know had I ordered something else I'd have liked it. This type of food is right up my alley and since I love the Poly its def. at the top of my list now!!

We also loved Crystal Palace. Because our tastes are so different, buffets are a good choice for us b/c we can both find alot we like. DH is very much into very american, plain food (pizza, chicken nuggets, potatoes, bread, desserts...CARBS!) so this was good for him, and I loved all the salads and fresh shrimp. The atmosphere is great, and the restaurant is just beautiful. We were stuffed afterwards, but it was SO good we couldn't help it.

Other favorites were Trail's End and Coral Reef. Again, buffets are good, and DH is obsessed w/the breakfast buffet at Trail's End. And we love Ft. Wilderness so it's a must do. Coral Reef was also very good, and the atmosphere was great, but I was not a fan of the crowdedness in there. The kids climbing all over our table was not so fun. Still great though, and I wouldn't mind going back one day.

Pinnochio's is hands down our fave for counter service. I had never been before and we both loved it. I liked the diff options from typical CS food and its just a cute place.

The only questionable place we went to was Ohana. And I really think it might have been just us, or an off night b/c people LOVE this place. Maybe we were just sick of all the heavy food...this was the end of the week and we were SO full already. And really the only things that weren't good to us were the skewer meats. So I'm optimistic about it. We're actually planning on maybe going back with my parents in October to try it again, so we'll see how that goes.

3. Wilderness Lodge. LOVE it. It very well may be my favorite resort now. So far I've stayed at Pop, All Star Sports, Ft. Wilderness, Caribbean Beach, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Boardwalk, and the Polynesian. The Poly holds a close second, and there are things I love about the others as well, but I just fell in love w/WL. It was so beautiful, and PERFECT for Christmas time. I love the whole everything under one roof feel, and will miss that in the future not staying there. The pool was fabulous, our room was beautiful, we loved going to Roaring Forks for hot chocolate and a swim at night. Its just beautiful and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on our honeymoon.

4. A Disney honeymoon?? We got this question more than once before we left, many people wonder about the idea and picture a honeymoon as going somewhere tropical, overseas, whatever. oh well I say. I have been a Disney nut since childhood, and we did toss around the idea of a cruise, all inclusive resort somewhere...but we ended up going right back to the Disney idea. We love the beach, and we go at least once every summer, but for December we knew we wouldn't love it, and we really didn't want to go out of the country. We also get bored just laying around for too long, and knew Disney was the best choice for us. And it WAS. I loved every second of it, and at least once a week I tell DH how much I miss it. It was w/out a doubt one of the best weeks of our lives, and the perfect place for us to spend our honeymoon.

I think I mentioned we didn't wear the ears (they annoy me and I really didnt want THAT much attention), but we did wear the Just Married buttons. TOTALLY reccomend this for honeymooners. We got congratulations left and right, from castmembers and other visitors alike, and quite a few free desserts, drinks, and pixie dust. Just wonderful, and just the right amount of attention for us.

5. Taking it easy...I know this is harder for families, first time visitors, and thsoe who are trying to fit it all in in a short amount of time. But what really made our trip was just taking it easy(er) than we normally would. Instead of going going going from morning till night, we took breaks, relaxed, and tried to have the most laid back Disney trip we could. I loved those moments sitting on the Poly beach watching Wishes, swimming in the WL pool/hottub late at night, sitting on our balcony, mid day naps, just soaking that Disney atmosphere up at a more relaxed pace. It was so much fun and kept us from being completely worn out. I have been to Disney quite a few times, we had annual passes for 3 years while I was growing up, and I still love it...but it also helps me appreciate not rushing so much, and enjoying the lesser known aspects of Disney. DH enjoyed this as well, even though this was just his second trip, he is very laid back and would have hating going all day, every day.

Future trips??

This is the exciting part!! As you can probably see by my tickers, we have not one but TWO trips coming up this year! And I can't wait! The first will be October 2-6. It is my mom's bday, and she told us that was what she wanted to do, go to Disney, stay at Ft. Wilderness in their camper, and just enjoy the campground and stuff, w/out going to the parks. We DID decide to do MNSSHP Sunday the 5th (I ordered tickets tonight!), but that is all. DH and I will be leaving Thursday afternoon, driving all night and getting there LATE that night, and then staying until Monday. So its just a short trip, but we are so excited. I can't wait to see all the decorations at the camground, and we are all taking our bikes so we will have a blast doing that, swimming, checking out the hotels, DTD, and of course the Halloween party!!! I have been wanting to go for YEARS, and finally have a chance!!

The second trip will be our first anniversary trip in December, of course. It is my absolute favorite time to go, and we just can't stay away (ok so maybe its more me, but I convinced DH we HAD to!) Our anniversary is actually December 8th but my best friend's wedding is the 12th so we are somehow going to manage to leave EARLY the next morning. :lmao: We are renting points and staying in a studio at Old Key West, December 13-19th. Well actually we are staying at Pop the 13th, bc we didn't want to pay such a high price for weekend points at OKW. This will also be more of a relaxing trip, as we are only planning 3 park days. We have 2 day tickets left over from the honeymoon, and then are planning on going to the Christmas party one night. So we will spend one day at Epcot, since we didn't get to do as much there as planned, and then a split day at MK/HS, and then the Christmas party one afternoon/night. No AK. It's just not our favorite, we don't do much there and would rather spend time at the other 3 parks. We will also be taking our bikes, and just enjoying the resort and doing more non-park things. VERY excited for this!! Especially during the holidays, there is just so much to do that we still weren't able to do last year!

And there is also a planned trip for next June to take my 2 little cousins back, staying at Ft. Wilderness again, so we have lots of Disney magic in our future!! Stay tuned!!

So I'm signing off...thanks so much to everyone who read along w/me, that really makes it so much fun to write for people when you know they're reading!! It was awesome being able to relieve some of our wonderful memories and share them with you all!!! I loved writing this first trip report, and am looking forward to writing even more!!

How do you rent points? Can anyone rent points. Is it cheaper? I read your whole TR this morning. It made me reminisse of my honeymoon 11 years ago.:lovestruc No we didn't do Disney but you made me think of how bad we hated to get back to the real world of daily responsibilities.:sad2: Oh how I thought of our little moments of relaxing and enjoying our time together.:lovestruc We just went to Charleston (SC) Not far from our home. We go every year for our Anniversary. Next year we plan to Celebrate our Ann. and our sons 10th birthday later in the year at DISNEY.:woohoo: In late Sept.09 My Son and I are planning it any way.:worship: I hope we are able to go. Thanks again for reminding me of the Honeymoon memories!

Wow, all in one day!! Thanks for reading!!!!! :goodvibes

Yes, anyone can rent points. Another poster on the Wedding/Honeymoon board had told me about it, and then I read alot about it for myself. You can go to the DVC boards here, to the rent/trade one. Read all the stickys first, just to REALLY understand how it works. People post how many points they have for rent, and how much they want for them, or you can post for a certain time you want them, where, etc. It's really easy to do. And YES! SO MUCH cheaper!! We are staying in a studio at OKW for LESS than what it would have been to stay at Pop, which was our first choice. Definitely look into it!!

Oh and I LOVE Charleston, we are only about 3-4 hours from there, and have been on trips there many times. My DH's family is from there as well so we visit his family there as well. Beautiful city. Great place for a honeymoon, and I'm glad you enjoyed reading my TR!:goodvibes

Hi, I am not sure if this is mentioned somewhere on your posts and I hate to sound lazy, but in the interest of time I was hoping this would be faster than reading everyones responses... can you tell me what type of room you booked for your honeymoon? We are looking to go there for ours and considered contemporary but if we stay there I want castle view and its far too expensive. WL looks nice but the room your pictures show is completely different than their site shows, yours is more modern and I like it. Again, sorry if this is already mentioned!

No problem, and no I don't believe it has been asked!! I believe that all the rooms at WL look that way, I know they did lots of rehabs in the past few years and updated them a good bit. So any of the rooms should look that way. We also booked courtyard view, if that matters, to have a view of the lake/pool area. I had actually wanted woods view, bc I've seen TRs here where if you are on the MK side you can see fireworks. But when the Disney Visa discount came out that I was able to use, all that was left was courtyard view, which is more. But we saved a ton w/that discount, and we LOVED the view, being able to see the water parade and the pool and all every morning. Just beautiful.

I'm SO JEALOUS! You should definitely stay there if at all possible, its such a beautiful and romantic resort. I can't say enough great things about it!! If you have any other questions let me know!!

OH and on the resorts board here there is a whole thread dedicated to WL, you can probably find alot more up to date pictures there too!!

tinkabella627
08-21-2008, 08:52 PM
ok now another question... what visa discounts are you mentioning?? I have the disney visa and all I have ever heard of was interest free for 6 months.

Hillary12.8.07
08-21-2008, 09:09 PM
Every once in awhile they release different discount codes. Usually after that it will be released to the general public as well. Go to the Codes and discounts forums here, I think its under Planning at the top. There should be some threads there. Last year I think they announced the Disney Visa discount sometime in September, but I could be wrong. And then a few weeks later released it to everyone. I don't remember how much of a discount it was, but I know that we got a courtyard view room w/the dining plan for less than what we were going to get for just a standard view room w/no dining. So pretty good. Subscribe to one of those threads and you will hear when and if any codes are released. I think that if you get emails from Disney Visa you will get that too. Also subscribe to the Allears.net newsletter and you will get stuff from them as well. And Mousesavers also sends out emails with discount information. I think this is the right link to the forum here..

AW MAN, when are you going?? Sometime in November it looks like, on your ticker. Awesome though that you get to go back, and especially during the holidays, you will LOVE IT!!!

Not sure if I'm going to do a PTR, not for October anyway. We are going for a long weekend, and only doing MNSSHP, no other park days. Just hanging around the campground, swimming, bike riding, etc. I'm so excited to just relax and enjoy Disney.

I may do a PTR for December though, even though we're only doing 3 park days then too...we'll see!!

I'm glad you got caught up, that's weird you didn't get updates? :confused3 It's happened to me before too though. Glad you're here now though!! I'm bad about commenting...I've been reading your TR, but I suck and don't always comment! :goodvibes

Hey Hillary! Sorry that it took me forreeevvverr to get over here, but I just finished reading your report and I loved every minute of it! First of all, congratulations! How has your and Andy's life together been so far? I hope all is well!

What a great honeymoon you had! The Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous and one of my favorite resorts to visit. I can only imagine how beautiful it is decorated for the holidays! You and Andy got so much done while still having a lot of time to relax, which sounds great. Those relaxing times are my favorite, too. Some of my favorite memories from past trips are when we were just sitting at a table in the World Showcase having one snack or another and just talking and taking in the sites, or just lounging around the house while we watched TV and played cards :lmao: Those are the best times!

St. Augustine looks beautiful. I know you know from my trip report, but we're planning on heading there for a day on our trip next summer and your report gave me so many tips and ideas, so thanks! Thanks so much for sharing your report, it really was a fun read. The best part, though, is that you have two more trips coming up so soon! :woohoo: :woohoo: Have fun! Thanks again for sharing :goodvibes

Hey Melissa!! So glad you got all caught up!!!

We are doing well, loving married life. I'm finishing up my Master's and working in a middle school as an intern, and we have kinda started looking at houses, looking to buy w/in the next year or so! Thanks for asking!

I LOVE the WL so much. As excited as I am about our 2 upcoming trips, I know I'm gonna be sad to go back and not be staying there. I considered going there one night for dinner or something but I don't know that it's a good idea, I might cry! And yes the best parts of our trip were just sitting around relaxing. I think thats why I enjoy YOUR TRs so much, is because you're a girl after my own heart!! It's vacation, why rush the whole time?!

I can't wait to read your TR next year and see how you like St. Augustine. I think you'll really enjoy it. I know you like Savannah and it is very similiar, yet different. It's a BEAUTIFUL city, full of history and culture. Have fun planning!!

Thanks again everyone for reading and commenting, even though it's over!

I'm so glad to hear that everything's going well! How are your Masters classes? I'm still working on my Bachelors but here in NY we have 5-years to get our Masters once we start teaching, and then we need our 30-and-Above in order to get top salary. I'm gonna be in school forever! :lmao:

Definitely go eat at the WL!!! It's always hard going back to a gorgeous resort when you can't stay, but believe me, it's just as fun visiting. We don't even stay onsite but we LOVE visiting all the Disney resorts. It sucks leaving at the end of the day, but it's a blast just walking around, hanging out and taking in the atmosphere... plus playing skeeball, of course! :lmao: The WCC is one of the restaurants I've been wanting to try for the past four years but haven't had a chance to yet so we're going for breakfast next summer. You should go too! Even if you don't eat, walking around will bring back so many great memories!

I'm so glad to hear that everything's going well! How are your Masters classes? I'm still working on my Bachelors but here in NY we have 5-years to get our Masters once we start teaching, and then we need our 30-and-Above in order to get top salary. I'm gonna be in school forever! :lmao:

I love my classes, I am enjoying it so much more than my undergraduate classes. It's just a much smaller program and everyone is very close and involved.

I feel the same way about school! Being in forever! But I knew if I didn't get my Master's now, I wouldn't do it. I plan on getting either my Ed. Specialist or maybe my doctorate later, but I'm going to work and probably have children first.

You're going for education right? Elementary?? I have such high respect for everyone involved in education. It's such a hard job, and teachers just don't get the appreciation they deserve.

And thanks for the advice, I'm still debating on going back to WL on our trip. I've been to WCC, YEARS ago w/my family and we loved it. I know DH would too, so we may try it. Not sure yet.

And I just wanted to jump on here and say that I leave for Disney in THREE WEEKS!!!! agggh I'm so excited!!!
