After all your wonderful advise we decided on the Swan. Now I want to hear everything that is wonderful about it. How long will check- in take at about 5pm on a Wed.? How late do the boats run? Same as the busses? Where should we eat at the hotel or at the Boardwalk? Thanks!!:D Can you tell I'm excited?:D :D

Well, since I am staying at the Swan for the first time in less than 26 days... I can't pass anything along except what made me decide to stay there myself! Looking forward to the replies though!

That sounds great! When are you going? (You probably told me, but I've forgotten.)

We are leaving March 13 and coming home (way too soon) March 19. I hope that it won't be too crowded at that time.:D

Aren't you going over Easter? We are sooo lucky!!!

I'll be back at the Swan in 40-something days...my third stay there. What do I like about the Swan?? Everything. The location, the understated elegance, the ease with which you can get around the building itself, the friendly staff, two sinks, queen beds, the amazing Epcot view, when you are fortunate enough to get one...I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

I am so very excited to be going back to the Swan, as the last few times, I have been at the Dolphin, which, while nice, just doesn't grab me the way the Swan does. I feel like I am going home by going back to the Swan.

I guess it's because both the Swan and I exemplify understated elegance--lol!

I agree with poohlover, we really loved our stay at the Swan. As for checking in, the best thing you can do to speed things up is get a Starwood Preferred card. It also increases your chance for an upgrade & getting other room requests. You can sign up for free at Starwood.com. The boats run until at least an hour after the Studios & Epcot close. They also start up early in the morning-many times we wake up to the wonderful sound of the boat horns in the morning. (That wasn't sarcasm, we really do love to hear this--on the first morning DW gives me that "we really are finally here!" smile.) Have a great trip!

Check-in will be a breeze. We arrived last year mid-day on good friday we were prepared to wait. They met our car and unpacked the trunk and all our wallmart bags, let us leave the renatl outside at curbside, went to desk and someone escorted us to our room and filled our cooler with ice. This took all of under 10 minutes. Our preordered frig. was not in the room but we asked about it and it arrived within 10 minutes. The service is fantastic. We were upgraded without even asking

disnurse, I hope we can move that quickly. I would like to head to Epcot for a late dinner (our plane lands at 5:30). I was thinking of having them empty the mini-bar instead of the 12 per day fridge. Is the mini-bar pretty big? For a few cans of soda and some juice. Maybe a jar of jelly ( my DS lives on PB&J). Thanks!:D

We've been to the Swan twice and really loved it. There were minor problems with our first stay, but we loved the location, and the service we had the second trip completely wowed us. We'd definitely recommend the Swan to anyone. Our next trip will be to the Contemp. because of the SOG relocation, but if it wasn't for that great deal, we'd be back at the Swan.

Enjoy it!
Always ;-)

The Swan is great. Check-in has never taken me long (Dolphin can take forever due to the larger groups they host). Buses and boats are always very convenient. I've never had to wait more than 15 min for either. I would def eat in Palio's one night! Try Spoodles on the Boardwalk another! Both EXCELLENT! *You can also pick up a Palio's menu and take it to your room and order it for room service* :)

The pool is great...... all in all a good experience!

The theming/decor is not my first preference but the Swan is well run and has a more laid back feel than the Dolphin. :)

I have stayed at the swan once in December and we are returning in a week. I do think the term "understated elegance" applies. It is a wonderful hotel, not overwhelming in size and an incredible location. The views from the rooms are stunning. Speaking for myself I loved the decor. The staff was wonderful. Location is incredible, right next to the boardwalk, a short walk to to international gateway of epcot, the boats to either mgm or epcot. I did not walk to mgm but that is an option also. Busses go to MK and AK picking up in front of the Dolphin right across from swan. The grotto pool looked wonderful, although I did not swim as it was December.

You also have the convience of tubbies a 24 hour operation for a meal and also grocery items located right across at the Dolphin. I highly recomend it and believe you will enjoy it. :)

Patrick--there is also a bus stop at the front of the Swan. Did you go to the Dolphin to catch your bus every day???
