Hi!

Not sure if this is the right board to post, but I would like to do an HO scale model train layout in my office of the MK train as it goes around MK. I want to try and highlight some of the attractions that you probably can see from the train. I really am not sure what you can or cannot see as I have never rode the train before, so I'm looking at a map of the MK and it looks like you can see some attractions. The problem is, I will have to try my hand at building these structures myself. I looked through all my pics from WDW vacations and I don't seem to have the pics I need (well, not good ones anyway), so I thought I could ask for some help in gathering some of the photos that I would need from fellow Disers out there.......

I want to try and build these structures if possible, so any or all angles of these attractions would be very helpful to me:

1. The Train Station (obviously! :))

2. The tunnel (at least it looks like a tunnel on the map that I have) that the train goes in and under some water heading toward Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

3. The tents at Mickey's Toontown.

4. Space Mountain.

If you think you have any other pics that would help me out that include surrounding areas of the attractions that would be a plus!

Thanks!

Feel free to PM me if you would like!

This is as the railroad passes Thunder Mountain. The three red lights on the left are where BTMRR track crosses the railroad to go to the maintenance area.

You have it easy! I am building a replica of Main St station in N scale and there is not much to work with. In HO there are some good kits to start with:

Here is a photo of Main St station from inside the park:

Thanks boBQuincy!

Well, I may have to go with N scale also......I'm not sure that I will be able to make the bends on my layout..........

Any train modeling at this point is actually hard for me because I'm just starting out in the train modeling hobby, but as a kid, my cousin and twin sis used to build a train for the holidays. I miss that. Only now, I don't want to put it up and take it down, I just want to leave it up!!! :) I have my office decorated with a Disney theme and thought about putting a train up about five years ago, but never got started with it! I'm ready to start now. :)

I'll definitely look into the links that you posted.......the one is REALLY close to the MK Train Station. I would like to keep it in HO if I can.

Thanks for the pics!!! Much appreciated!

If I have any questions about railroading, is it okay to PM you?

Yes, feel free to PM or email me. I was figuring we probably should take this off the photography board soon anyway, but there is no modeling board for WDW. It's time for one!

We can't be the only ones who are interested in modeling parts of WDW. The only other threads I saw about this were on the "Transportation" board, mostly about monorail models.

I am working on "DisneyTowne", a fictional Disney park where the railroad and monorail share a station, and both of them stop at the Contemporary Resort. Of course I will post photos as they become available!
