Val,
Couldn't see you without a counter so here you go..
<APPLET CODEBASE="http://www.sgb1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/" CODE="BeanCounterDate.class" WIDTH=340 HEIGHT=72>
<param name="date" value="2 March 2002 09:00:00">
<param name="display" value="days, seconds">
<param name="imagefont" value="http://www.sgb1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/freehand2.gif">
<param name="background" value="http://www.sgb1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/pics/valback.gif, 10, 40, 150, 25">
</applet>
Just copy the code below into your signature, you may need to alter the departure Time, it is currently set at 09:00:00 just change it if your time is different.
<APPLET CODEBASE="http://www.sgb1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/" CODE="BeanCounterDate.class" WIDTH=340 HEIGHT=72>
<param name="date" value="2 March 2002 09:00:00">
<param name="display" value="days, seconds">
<param name="imagefont" value="http://www.sgb1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/freehand2.gif">
<param name="background" value="http://www.sgb1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/pics/valback.gif, 10, 40, 150, 25">
</applet>

Thanks Stu, you are such a star!
Dave (mine) saved DFM's signature for me so I'm hopefully back to 'normal' now.

Hmm, countdown works but no background or fancy font.
Any ideas Stu?
My signature is:
Richard
*APPLET CODEBASE="http://www.naverone.fsnet.co.uk/" code="BeanCounterDate.class" width=350 height=263>
*param name="date" value="16 Aug 2002 11:15:00"> *param name="display" value="days, seconds">
*param name="imagefont" value="freehand.gif">
*param name="background" value="100yom_icon.gif,1,170,350,100">
*/applet>
Where * is < (removed or it will not display)
I have tried it with and without carriage returns after each line.

The values for imagefont and background need the full URL. They don't automatically use the value in CODEBASE.

Thanks Bob, I should have remembered that from when I did my countdown on the UK DIS Boards; I also should have read Stu's post properly. Nice to get the countdown back.
Next question, how do I edit the text that currently says 'Welcome Guest'? I cannot seem to find where to do it here yet I managed on the UK Boards.

Richard,
If I remember correctly you have to have a post count of 25 or 30 before the option appears in the user cp

Ummmmm, it's just taken about 5 mins to make that reply, then there are two.
Me Thinks this board is on the edge of a very slippery cliff

Thanks Stu, that would explain it.
You are right about the speed of the board though - it has sometimes taken 10 minutes and several timeouts to get a reply to go.
