DH is a police officer, not military. We are staying at ASMu in mid March. The SOG buffets seem reasonably priced.

It's reasonably priced, but it is really bad. Some of their menu items are marginal, but the buffet is the pits.

I can't attest to the quality of the food but you don't have to be eligible to eat in the restaurants, either the sit-down or the bar & grill. You have to show id to shop in the souvenir shop apparently. Many people visit the restaurants after golfing.
