I saw a picture this morning that got me thinking...A quick internet search found several companies offering hot air balloon rides near or over Disney parks and property. It is as the wind blows- so the route is not assured- but they claim they try to be over or close to Disney. I thought it sounded pretty cool and am considering this- and curious to hear if anyone has any experience with these rides or pictures to share.

Here's the picture...

Same view with an added touch:

When they start doing the Epcot Ball one for rides I will be all over that but until then I have no desire to go up in one of those things.

the ones who use to always go over the WDW parks relocated to the other side of Kissimmee

over WDW was a 'no flight zone' for a while after 9/1 -

they generally go the other way - you can see them - they definitely look fun - over OL, CWR,

but if the wind is going towards Disney!~ :dance3: :woohoo:

We took a balloon flight in December 2004 - it was amazing!:cloud9:

We booked with Orange Blossom Balloons, they picked us up at our hotel, took us for a briefing, then we set off for the launch site. No route can be guaranteed since they gently drift with the wind, but we did pass over WDW property. We flew over Wide World of Sports and some resorts, and could see Spaceship Earth in the distance.:goodvibes

DH is afraid of heights, but this didn't bother him in the slightest. In fact, he can't wait to take another flight in the future!:cool1:

The two times that I stayed at POP I have seen them outside of our room we were in the 70's section and ever since then I have wanted to do them I have started looking into for our next trip so I am glad I found this post. Thanks.

PS~ Its even more enticing when I go to disneys website and in the travel section the first page is the Mickey hot air balloon but it looks like it is over disneyland CA.
