Any 2008 add-ons planned?

Well, another year is here. Does anyone have any hard plans for add-ons this year?

I am planning on doing a small add-on at the new GCV at DLR.

I don't expect the announced Hawaii resort or the mythical CRV will be available for sale this year.

Anyone else have any planned point add-ons for 2008?

for us it all depends on CRV, if it is announced we will probably add on as soon as possible, if not then we will probably hold off at least until later in the year

I just did a small AKV add on, but it will close in 2008. Does that count? Aside from that no plans. But who knows for sure?

I do not think that we will be adding on in '08. If we do, it will be at OKW for the 11 month window for part of our retirement stays.

Unless we win the lottery, we won't be adding on this year. We still have banked points from our fully loaded resale we purchased last year. But those should run out in '09 or '10, so we'll probably add on at that point since, like so many others, we underestimated how long we'd want to spend at WDW every year!

I do not foresee us adding on in year 2008. If we ever do add on again, it might happen in year 2010.

If part of the Polynesian ever became DVC, I would strongly consider adding on there.

I am seriously thinking about adding on more points at AKV this year. These points would be a total splurge because it would allow me to upgrade to a 1 br from a studio for my annual 8-10 day stay. Why is it a splurge? Well, mist of my trips will be solo. But the thought of having 2 rooms is really compelling. So I am currently oscillating between making the additional purchase and the though that it really is a splurge.

We did a 125 point add-on in August at AKV, so none for us this year. I would have loved to have had some points at the GCV, though, since we're on the West Coast!

We've got points at AKV and I just can't see us adding on at any another WDW DVC even if they finally end up announcing CRV.

Not interested in Hawaii either.

We will add on with CRV before the end of 2008 (power of positive thinking :goodvibes ) My guide told me not to worry about having enough points for our 2009 plans because we would be able to buy CRV before the end of 2008 - I'm going to believe him because I want it to be so!:thumbsup2

We are planning to do an add-on at AKV during our upcoming stay at SSR for Spring Break '08.

We stayed at AKL last year and loved it. I imagine we will like AKV just as much (if not more).

We are thinking in the range of 150-160pts but I suppose it will depend on what offers DVC has going on when we visit.

We thought of holding off for one of the "legendary rumored" DVC resorts but..............Xmas bonus is burning a hole in my pocket! :lmao:

Hmmm.. definately think an add-on is in my future this year. We joined last year, have used up all my 2007 points, and by the end of the month will have reservations (Dec 2008) for all 2008 and all but 7 of our 2009 points. That would mean that if we do not add on there are no points until Oct 2010! :scared1:

So the only questions remaining are where and when. Will be visiting the other resorts when we are down in March, just to look around. I am thinking CRV would be nice if it was available (monorail), or BWV or BCV for their proximity to Epcot. Though VWL at Christmas would be nice... Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Whenever they announce DGC I'll add on..kinda hoping it's a little later rather than sooner so I can save more for the down. :)

We will probably sell one or two of our SSR contracts (150 pts and 90 pts) and replace them with OKW contracts. When Hawaii becomes available, we will add on there. We'll have to see the points charts to decide how many pts we need. Enough for a 2-bedroom for a week every other year, supplemented by 1 week in a Starwood or Marriott property on Maui or Kauai eoy.

Hoping for the Grand Californian, but will need to get the finances arranged first after switching cars and jobs in the next few weeks.

I'm really anxious to get some indication of when it will start selling, although I know it won't be for a while. When talking to my guide in December, she said it would be a year until that happens.

A small BWV add-on would be nice too after enjoying a Boardwalk view 1BR. My point purchase was based on Standard View assumptions. Why did I have to try a Boardwalk view and torment myself?

Nope, not me.

Most of my add-ons have been small ones -- between 25-40 points.

I have 637 points, so I have quite a bit more add-ons to join that exclusive club.

Maybe GCV and the mythical CRV will get me close, but who knows?
