My family and I will be making our first DW trip Feb23-Mar 1. We have 2 children, one wilth special needs. Our 6 year old daughter has CP and is unable to walk without a walker. We will bring a wheel chair for her to use. I would appreciate any advice that any of you who have experience with similar circumstances. We will be camping at Fort Wilderness. I have read about the GAC and Fastpass.
Thanks

Are there any things you specifically have questions about?
Things she/you are especially interested in?
We have been coming to WDW since 1986 with DD who has CP and is now 22 yrs old, so we have lots of experience.
Your daughter would be able to stay in her wheelchair for many attractions. For the ones that require a transfer, most 6 yr olds are still small enough to be carried or lifted onto rides. If she can sit without much support, she probably won't have much trouble sitting on ride cars. If she needs support, you will be able to ride next to her on almost any of the ride cars.

We just returned from WDW with DS4 who is a wheelchair fulltime. Using the fast pass and the GAC are excellant ideas. When you get to the front you may have to wait for an accessible vehicle so if your daughter can transfer or be held that is the way to go. The parades are great just remember to get a place early (even in the accessible area). The first aid stations are great places to rest and change your daughter (if that is an issue). The other thing that helped us a lot was not trying to do/see everything. We picked out what mattered most and let the rest happen. Disney is well prepared to work with people with disablities. Your daughter should have a magical time. Karen
