How does the AP discount work? Do I purchase it online and then use the mailed voucher to activate it once at the parks? I know that it is good for those in the immediate family/living in the same household, so does that person just show his driver's license at the parks?

Last year we purchased the tickets on the DVC website. Got the discount and given a reference #. When we got to the park, went to guest relations, gave the # and driver's licence. Given tickets then. The tickets are good for one year from activation in the park (not time of purchase).

Every adult will need to provide some ID to get their ticket. We have even just purchased the DVC discounted AP when we arrived at the International Gateway (we have often turned in our vouchers for the AP there, too). Had to provide the blue DVC ID, DL and money (or credit card).

You can also purchase the APs in person. There is no advantage to buying them online, unless you want to prepay in case of price increase or budgeting.
Either way, you'll need to go to guest services at on of the parks or downtown Disney, wheher you purchase them on site or activate a voucher. As Deb & BIll said, you'll also need you blue DVC Membership card and photo/address ID for all adults.

I forgot showing the membership card was part of the process. I did pre purchase online because I knew there was going to be a price increase. I also know my husband did not show his driver's licence because he was not there when I picked up the tickets. He was with the kids in another area. But I guess all adults should be there just in case. Maybe the cast member I dealt with did not follow policy. :confused3
