We are trying to plan a trip for August and may get the DDP. We used it last year during free dining and loved it. I think it is still worth it for my family except for one thing. My 13 yr. old niece may come with us and she is extremely picky. If we went to a signature dining place, could we pay out of pocket for her and use credits for everyone else, thereby saving her credits for another meal? (I know this is not possible at buffets/ all you can eat.)

Yes you can. Just let server know ahead of time that you'll be paying OOP.

jik anyone is going to rent DVC points or use their own; all registered MUST purchase the DP for all nights if you are utilizing.

Thanks! I did know that. Another thing I just realized might work is having my DS8 order off the adult menu and have her order off the kids' menu. He would be thrilled at being able to order the more adventurous food although the portions may be too large. Should balance out that way.
