I just got off the phone with Disney Dining and she said that Teppan Edo has been added for the dining plan - she even pulled up my reservation and noted we were on the Dining plan

there is an older thread on this asking if it is on the plan - two people posted that they called Disney dining today - one got a yes and one got a no - maybe word came down in the middle of the day?

I am hopeful she is right b/c she didn't just give me an answer she actually pulled it up on her computer - and said yes - let me check your dates too - then she said yes - it is one credit and I have marked you as DDP on your reservation

I would love to confirm this for everyone else who is patiently or not so patiently waiting to hear on this restaurant. Unfortunately, I too called yesterday to check on the status of Teppan and the dining plan and was told at 4:30pm that they still were not on the plan.:confused3 Hopefully the poster called after me and it is really confirmed. I won't believe it until I have eaten there in Jan. and not paid out of pocket!:rotfl:

I laughed when I read this because I find Member Services has tons of problems with dining. I frequently have them switch me to dining department as they always, and I mean always, make some type of error with my dining ressies: overcharging, wrong ADRs, cancelled ADRs, misinformation, etc. I wouldn't take any confirmation from them on dining as the last 3 member service CMs I have spoken with over the past few months couldn't even figure out how to make regular ADRs. :rolleyes1

I would wait and hear from Dining department and not take it from Member services as they really have issues in this regard in my personal experience.

Hopefully we'll all hear soon whether or not Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining are on the Dining Plan for '08.

Just made our ADR's for June 1 thru 7 and guess what. The CM we talked to said Teppan Edo is not on the DDP yet. But we booked it figuring we will pay OOP if it doesn't go on the DDP and then do a breakfast or early lunch with the TS the last day. But anyway all is booked.

So I called directly to Teppan Edo and talked with them and they confirmed that they are going to accept the 2008 Dining Plan -

Disney Dining clearly does not have their act together on this one!!

My plan is OOP for Tokyo Dining......since I only want sushi and a bunch of it for that meal. They really have some different and interesting rolls I want to try.

I called the other day and again earlier today and was told that it is still not on the 2008 DDP as of yet. We have an ADR and I hope they confirm this soon, because if it is not on the plan, then I want to make an ADR for somewhere else, that hopefully won't be booked up.

At least it is a good sign that the restaurant CM said that they will be accepting the plan. I hope Disney will confirm this soon!

I called yet again to check yesterday and the cm told me that Teppan Edo was 1 table service credit for our stay in January. I hope this time they have it right- I'm getting nervous about having to change an ADR if Teppan is not included. You wouldn't think that they could wait this long to officially announce it to people that made ADR's 180 days out. I hope families that have an ADR on Jan. 1st are not as nervous as I am!

I have an ADR for Teppan Edo for our March trip. DS LOVED Teppanyaki (he developed a great love :love: for seaweed salad there, and that from a VERY picky eater :confused3 ), so we wanted to return to the same "themed" place. I called WDW at 10 am today and was told that it is still pending for the 2008 plan. Excuse me, it IS 2008 :rotfl2: . Oh well, at least we have a few months before it affects me. Hopefully by then :rotfl2: , they will have an "official" decision :goodvibes .

Like everyone else, I have been monitoring the restaurant board waiting to find out if Teppan Edo is on the dining plan. Yesterday I decided to call Disney Dining again to see if it was confirmed on the plan since it is now 2008. The CM I spoke with, Manuel, said it's 1 table credit "if confirmed." He was reading this from his screen. I asked what that meant and he said he didn't know. So I asked if I could speak with a supervisor who may have more information. He said he would transfer me, but then after a wait he came back on the phone said he spoke with his supervisor and Teppan Edo was not on the plan and didn't know if or when it would be.

I asked if I could hold a reservation at another restaurant at the same time since I did not want to be scrambling at the last minute in case Teppan Edo never joins the plan. He checked with his supervisor and said yes, it's no problem, that he would note in the reservation that Teppan Edo was pending, thus the two different reservations.

Then I found the phone number for what I thought was the Teppan Edo restaurant, but turns out it's for the Mitsukoshi offices. The CM I spoke to said yes, Teppan Edo is on the dining plan, and yesterday, Jan. 1st, they were accepting it. I explained to her the confusion at Disney Dining and the fact that it was not listed on the 2008 dining plan brochure, and she assured me that she would speak to the general manager about the mixup.

Even after the reassurance, I still won't believe it until I see it in writing.

I'm hoping they'll be on the plan, but at this point I suspect they're testing the non-DDP waters before making a committment. If that is the case, I doubt they'll be on the plan for us in 2 weeks, but they might be later on if they find business slows down as people go elsewhere to use the DDP.

I did email Disney today and plan on going with what I am told in that email - I will take it in hand with me if they say it is included so we can eat there! But I plan to hold on to both of my ADRs until I hear something definitive!

This has me so frustrated. First I was waiting until Dec 1st to rebook, then the 15th, then the 30th. My DS and DD really want to eat here, so I just keep waiting :lmao: !

I have three backup choices, but it is during busy President's Week, so I haven't made a backup ADR. I really don't want to make an ADR that I may not keep. I also don't have it in my budget to pay this one OOP.

My backup choices are Yak and Yeti, Tutto Italia, or Marrakesh and I don't care about the time of day so I think we should still be able to snag something. As a last resort we can do Beaches and Cream or Planet Hollywood without an ADR.

I have tried to be patient, but I am close to throwing in the towel and giving up on Teppan Edo. Just today I have read they are on the plan 1TS, they are on the plan 2TS, and they are definitley not on the plan. :headache:

There, now that I have said it, "they" are probably releasing a final DDP brochure as I type :laughing: .

Our favorite is Chefs de France! We have always had great food and good service there. Our next two favorites are Le Cellier and San Angel Inn. But, you probably won't be able to get dinner reservations for Le Cellier, it fills up really fast.

Don't know about the DDE, and no internet yet (I apologize for my assumption earlier) but I'm going to ask at the DVC desk and might attend the "Welcome Home Wednesday" mtg this week to see if I can get a more definite date on when internet will be free for DVC members.

Teppan Edo never took the DDE last year (I know this from personal experience), so I'm assuming that they wouldn't take it this year either. It would be good to find out for sure in case something has changed.
