Hi everyone, I was told that you would know the answer to my question! :) I am planning to book our honeymoon through american express, but we are staying on Disney. I was wondering if we can only book the dining plans through booking the hotel through disney's website or can I buy it separately somehow. Thanks, for anyone's help!

Welcome to the Dis Boards, Christmasbride06! We are glad you found us!:goodvibes

In order to purchase the dining plan you need to book a package, however this can be booked with Disney directly or a travel agency, as long as it is a package and not a room only.

With that said, I am going to move this to our Disney Dining Plan sub board where more people may have more information for you.

Welcome! The dining plan has to be booked as part of a package, with tickets and room, either through Disney or through AAA. I don't know if AmEx can do that. Are you getting a discount through AmEx? Also, I'd recommend someonethat is a Disney specialist Travel Agent like Dreams Unlimited, www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com or one of the others. Disney Specialists book a lot of Disney, so they know the ins and outs along with all of the secrets to making a magical vacation. They will also book your ADRs for you (dining reservations, a must now for table service choices). Dreams will also watch for any available discount codes that come out and will advise you of them and try to have them applied to your reservation to save you money. I don't know if the other travel agencies do that. And no, I don't work for them, I just think that they rock!

As pp stated, you will need to buy a Magic Your Way package, which will be at least room, the same type MYW park ticket for each guest in your party and the dining.
There are all sorts of package types guests can book, including Platinum. :wizard:
Make sure Disney is aware it's your Disneymoon when booking! :yay:

fyi, we booked through AAA and were able to get a 20% AAA discount off our room AND get 2007 ddp. When we tried to book through disney, they said that they would honor the 20% room discount, but not give us the ddp since that in itself is a "special" add-on.
