I've been reading the tips here for our upcoming trip (1 month and 1 day! :cool1: ) and am wondering where you find the lockable pinbacks for those pins you don't want to trade and also extra pinbacks (seeing how there are also a lot of losts pinbacks)? :confused3

:)

I already bought a Pirates of the carribean Mickey/Donald starter set for DH :rotfl: , and some princess pins for DDs :wizard: (need to find child length lanyards now..) but want to have some extra backs and lockable ones too. :)

Ebay is a good source for finding them in quantity. I assume WDW is priced similiar to Disneyland...and in DL the parks sold them in bags of 6 for about $8so it's a ton cheaper to buy 25 of them on ebay.

FYI...you can also purchase a pins in "lots" for about $2-$3 each so that you have some to trade. Don't worry about picking ones you like, in fact it's sometimes better to be sure to pick ones you DON"T like, then you'll want to trade them with the CMs. If you get ones the kids like they're reluctant to trade and you end up having to buy them in the park for $6 or more!

Be careful....it's definitely addictive.

WOW! I hadn't thought about ebay. I just searched and found extra pinbacks but can't find lockable ones. ? Maybe I'm searching with the wrong criteria? Thanks

My husband got his first lockable pinbacks at WDW, but just tonight came home with more. He got them (from all places) at the local Harley Davidson store. My brother told him to go there. He was pretty proud of himself for finding more LOL

Ok, hopefully I'm understanding the DIS board rules about posting ebay information....I am NOT the seller, so have no monetary gain from this, though I am a satisfied customer. Search for seller: disneypatriot He currently has buy it now auctions for 10 or 50 of his locking pin backs.

I purchased quite a few expensive pins in July while in Disney World. All of mine have lockable backs on them and work very very well. I purchased mine while at Disney World but I am sure that you can find them anywhere. The problem that I ran across with the non locking backs was that while riding rides my pins where wanting to fall off of my lanyard and I sure didn't want to lose any of them.
