I cashed in my milesource points today thinking I was getting a $25 gift certificate for Mariott hotels, the description said it could be used in over 350 hotels nationwide. I'm going on vacation in April and have a reservation at a Mariott already so I thought this would help pay for my room. When I went through all the confirm process THEN they told me that I would receive a call from Vacationswhoever where I could then book my vacation and use my certificate. I AM SO MAD! nowhere did it say that what I was ordering was anything other than a gift certificate. I've written Milesource with my complain but I imagine I'll get nowhere. Has anyone had this happen? And for those of you going to cash out, be very careful. It seems that the awards are not all that they seem.

SIGH:mad:

The exact same thing happened to me with Hyatt gift certificates. I wanted to use a few of them to stay at the Hyatt at the airport on our first night. AFTER I cashed out it said that I couldn't use more than one per stay and it wasn't good at the Hyatt in Orlando! This happened yesterday morning and I email Milesource about it and have yet to hear anything back from them. I'm fuming about it too!

I hope you have better luck than me in getting a response back from Milesource. I have been emailing them for over 3 weeks in an attempt to get miles credited, and have yet to hear anything back to them (not even a receipt). I am ready to throw in the towel!

Well, the onlyt time I had a problem with milesource it took almost 9 months to get credited. That was for mathmatical error not a GC problem.

Sorry for the bad news

Looked on another site for a toll-free number but only found a regular number>>"Milesource = (212) 629-3069 (Note: This is NOT toll-free)"

There's also Planetfeedback....even if you dont go through with the letter it would give you a possibly different email and an actual person's name.

I'd write Hyatt too and ask why you cant use more than one certificate. Sounds like some of the treatments people received at PH when they told the waitperson they were using gc's.

Cinders: Thanks for the phone number. I just called, pressed the option for Member Services and got a voicemail recording. They must not have live bodies at this number, but I left a detailed message and am hoping I get a response!
