My mother received a postcard in the mail this past weekend with a discount code and PIN # on it. She has not been to Disney in over 10 years and unfortunately cannot go now for a variety of reasons. Anyway, my wife and I have been talking about taking the kids back this summer for our 3rd trip and as an anniversary gift, my mother said she would pay for our trip. One of the reasons she said that was she thought she could use the postcard to get the discounted rate. Has anyone ever been able to do this or know if Disney will let us do it? Thought I would ask here before we called and tried to use it.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I believe that only the person who received the post card can use it. Since your mother won't be travelling with you, I don't think she will be allowed to use it. My fiance also received the postcard, and the CM gave me a hard time when I tried to make the ressie in my name until I assured him that my fiance would be the other person in my party. He said that my fiance should be prepared to show id upon checkin. Now, with that all said, I would still try to use it. If you explain the situation to the CM, perhaps they will let it slide. If not, there are lots of codes on www.mousesavers.com that might come in handy.
Good luck!

We just returned from Disney to find two postcards in the mail!! One has the yellowed pin number offering Moderates for $84 a nite 4/21-6/22 and the other has no pin number (CUQ code being offered in the Travel section of the newspapers) offering Moderates for $94 a nite. So if you can afford the extra $10 a nite, you won't have to worry about using someone else's postcard. ~:)~
