When to look for discounts?

Hi,

I'm wondering when is the best time to start looking for discounts for two trips. Hubby and I are planning a just us anniversary weekend in Sept/Oct ~ I desperately want to stay at the GF and have seen a great rate for them at mousesavers.com Then we need to book two nights at the WL in January of next year (adding on to our vacationclub stay). When is the best time to start looking (and where) for discounts for these times and places? We have a Disney club card but that's it right now.
