We have gone on 2 ABDs this year and they were both FANTASTIC!!! Next year, we are booked on the "Enchanted China" adventure. Although Tauck promotes their tours as "family friendly", you just cannot compare them to ABD and the "Disney magic". I don't want to give away any surprises, but if you are a Disney fan, you know what I mean. There is only ONE Mouse! :)

I have a Tauck Bridges Brochure which is seems comparable to ABD in that it is family travel but without the Mouse. I am still reading through both brochures.
Tons of places to go and so little time!

I too have looked at both these tour groups, and am leaning towards Disney. When I have asked this comparison before, I only get positive comments for either company, it doesn't seem as though anyone has taken both family tours. From a money standpoint, when you look at the meals and number of nights, the Disney tour seems like a better value. The accomodations seem nice at both tours. There is more feedback on this site than the Tauck boards, which are on Tauck's website. While I enjoy Disney, I am not a huge Disney fanatic, so I'm not so captivated by the "Disney" component. In fact, my husband was worried that the Italy tour would be made into a "Mickey Mouse" adventure, but I have been assured on this website that was not the case. I think we should be glad both companies are available, a little competition in the marketplace can only be a good thing.

I agree with the thought that competition is a good thing! I would be thrilled to find out there are other companies that do as good a job in this area as Disney seems to (at least from what many posters say). Now that my kids are old enough to branch out into more interesting vacations, I'm hoping to do lots of them! (And if I won the lottery, that would help too)
