while at Disney this month I was in search of 2 pair stitch ears(headband) and a stitch dressed in Elvis attire, I stuck out on both and spotted a few visitors weaing stitch santa hats so went looking for them, I was told everywhere "nope been discontinued." I mean I am a grandmother on a mission to locate these so no store left out in the search at Disney. nope not to be found, I finally ask a cm and she looked around and said well he was becoming a bigger character then the mouse and you don't take on the mouse. and lol.
Has anyone else noticed those items are not in the parks? And they have not done anything for stitch except the ride/show and it has been the same for as long as I been going to it. I sure think they could do more to promote the stitch character, while looking on disney shopping site, stitch is not even listed in the pull down charter list.

Maybe after the past few years of the heavy marketing of him they are laying off a bit.

Who knows who will be the next big thing

I'm surprised the Stitch headband type "ears" have been discontinued. That must be fairly recent. I've never seen the Stitch as Elvis costume anywhere, not sure if they made one. The closest I've seen to that is a WDCC figurine of Stitch dressed like Elvis. I know Disney also sells Stitch "hands", similar to the Mickey and Minnie hands, and those are a big seller. I've seen other things, like coloring sets, and a coin bank, with Stitch too. Oh, and a snowglobe, so there are Stitch items around.

It could have been that some of those items (especially the Stitch themed holiday hats) were sold out -things are flying off the shelf this year, especially during the more crowded times. During the summer months, there were days I found it hard to navigate inside the WoD store at DTD.

I have heard that Stitch is now more popular than Mickey with children so that would explain why the merchandise is so popular. Heck, look outside the WoD store -Stitch sits above one door and they even decorate him for the holidays (holding Christmas lights during Christmas, wearing bunny ears and holding an egg during Easter, dressed as a pirate, etc). I think Stitch gets a lot of attention -there were something like 3 or 4 movies, there is a cartoon on Disney channel, and the Stitch ride, although unpopular with many guests, was heavily marketed when it opened.

This is a stitch hat that we bought in June at the Emporium on Main Street. I never saw headbands of Stitch while we were there.

On my visits to the Disney outlet store this year, the place has been overrun with Stich merchandise. Which leads me to believe that, contrary to the CM's claim it probably hasn't been selling that well. They did seem to oversaturate the parks with him a couple years ago.

I could find the hands and the small hats in the picture above and the one that fits like a sock over your head not comfy for an adult size head. Well maybe next year, I did come home and found the headbands on ebay so got two just in case.

On the subject of stitch santa hats I was told at more than 1 location this year that the hat was last years hat. this year it was tigger and grumpy hats. they said give it a few years and they wiill be back in some way. They continue to change the hats yearly. like adding lights to goofy's santa hat, and light to other hats. so that is what I have heard this year....
