Hi,
Anyone out there still actively use dismates.com? I signed up this AM but there does not seem to be too many people on it/using it. Any other good Disney related dating sutes I should be aware of?
I know my Disney Princess is out there.........just have to find her! princess:

Hi Disney Dad,
I joined awhile ago, but must confess I don't go to the site often.
I'm in Dutchess County!

I guess it cannot hurt to give it a try. Being in Dutchess County (I am in Saratoga County) I guess you are in for the same heavy rain and high winds we are. :(
I see by your sig that you just took a Disney Cruise....how did you like it? I keep thinking about looking into it but am afraid I would miss the land part of the Disney trip too much.

Good morning! Yes, we have a severe weather alert today, but at the moment it is just rainy and gloomy.
My sons and I returned from our cruise 2 weeks ago and I had the same misgivings as you as far as the land portion went. So to solve that problem, I booked 3 nights at CSR and we had a wonderful whirlwind trip before the cruise! I hate sounding so spoiled, but I wish it could have been longer.
Anyway, the cruise was INCREDIBLE! Of course completely different than the parks but was wonderful in every way.
Now, I feel sort of lost not having any immediate plans for trips in 2008, but I'm always watching the boards for deals.
Hope to chat with you soon! Have a magical day.

I may have to look into trying a cruise - not sure I would want to take the kids on that......
I asked them and they seem to have no interest in that what so ever. I think I started planning my October trip before I even left WDW on the 15th. :)
I have to say I am REALLY missing the sun and 80 degree weather we enjoyed down there!

There is a single thread on here also, and I know of one couple who have met and are now engaged after a year! I never had much luck on dismates.
You may also like to consider the mousefest next year, there are quite a few solos that go to that in Dec......me included. Sorry your weather sounds so crummy, it's 75 here today and only 70 minutes from WDW:goodvibes
Hey DisneyDad knowing you have found the chat room... talk to Kimmielee in chat next time she is there... about the cruises too, she has been on a couple and does some land time.
And Chyam is right about going during mousefest. We had a group from the singles thread she talked about and from chat. We had 8 of us at Jellyrolls one night and a meet at Tambu lounge that had maybe 15 of us. Plus MVMCP. There have been 2 weddings this year and 2 engagements (all within a years time). There may have been one other, but I cant recall who.
We also got together as a group in October and did MNSSHP. That was fun! There is a trip in planning for May too.

I've been on the site a few times... but I've been so busy lately that I just don't have the time... I'm also planning a Halloween Disney getaway and a Star wars weekends getaway in end of May or early June. My son is a huge Star Wars fan and my sis and I decided to bring him there to celebrate his birthday. Also a change of pace and scenery for me, get away from the Ex and Ex-in-laws ha! ha!

Count me in as another one who signed up there. I've already posted comments to a few profiles that looked interesting but I just need to get their IM if they've listed it and start talking but that's easier said than done when it comes to me! ;)
Still, figured it's worth a shot but someday I do want to do the Mousefests when I can get my butt over there!

Yes you all need to come check out the Dismate site. The link is http://dismates.com/chat.html It normally starts around 9pm eastern time on most nights. The crowd varies from night to night, but we have some fun. Some bite, some are trouble makers, but their all harmless.:rotfl:

I was a member at Dismates and between there and here I found my Disney Prince. I rarely checked my Dismates but something made me check it back in August and my Prince had sent a message. We had trouble with the messages on dismates but we Pm'd each other here and then started chatting regualry and finally got the chance to meet a couple of weeks ago. I have fallen head over heels for my Prince and I thank the Dis everyday that we met. Good Luck to everyone on your search. You just might get lucky as I did.

My wife Ophie and I met on Dismates (and the DISboards) in 2005. We got engaged in Sept. 2006 and were married at Disney's Vero Beach Resort in June 2007. It can happen to you!!!

1. Dismates chat is available whether or not you signed up for dismates. . .just go to the website, select more under the chat option and login to the top box with any handle that you feel represents you. No password needed.
2. Just because there aren't people living close to you does not mean you cannot make a match. Long distance is not horrible. If two people find each other and love each other enough, the distance should not matter.
3. Come post on the Singles threads and say Hi. . you never know who you might meet. . .

Awww, so sweet
I'd love to find my prince charming. Eharmony hasn't been too much fun but I'm sticking it out during my membership. I think the last time I looked at Dismates it wasn't being used much. I 'll have to check over there again.
Good luck to all!

Actually with the DisMates chat you do not need a DisMates logon account. The chat is http://dismates.com/chat.html you will see two login screens, select the top one that saids "Parachat" you just have to type any login name, no password is needed.

Finding somebody can be difficult. I found My Prince Charming but he lives in the UK and I live in Canada. Don't let distance scare you off. If it is true love you can make it work. We are. Good Luck to everybody in there search I hope you get as lucky as I did.

Thanks CinRell. How are you? It has been so long. You are right I was housesitting and we were cheering each other on to try and lose weight. How are things going for you? Have you been up to Canada lately? PM me if you want to chat. It is great to hear from you and thanks for teh congrats I feel very lucky to have found my Prince.
Eharmony hasn't been too much fun but I'm sticking it out during my membership.
I hear you, gottalovethem. I tried eHarmony a year ago, and had such a terrible experience. Despite the quizzes and information I provided in my profile, the system kept matching me up with men who were exactly what I was *not* looking for... One man's profile was so arrogant that a friend thought it was an elaborate joke when I showed it to her. I stuck it out during my membership, but was glad when it was over. I'm not giving up on finding love... just a bit more cautious, I guess.
Good luck to you! I hope your experience at eHarmony works out better than mine did.

Yes, they happily took my annual membership $$ and then closed shop . I would have appreciated an email telling me but instead found out the hard way when I tried to log on one night and got the "this website no longer exists" error message.
