Hi-
I can't seem to make up my mind. I like features on both. If anyone out there owns either...could you offer the good/bad. I will use this as our family camera (shots of kids in sports, running around the house, around WDW both day and night...)
Thanks-
Kim

We have a 2 cell Canon camera and when you take a picture the flash takes sooooo long to recharge. Both of these cameras are 2 cell(batteries) cameras. Not to sway you away from those 2 cameras as they may be good in their own ways, but I just bought my wife an S3-IS and it is a 4cell camera with good recharge times for the flash. The S3-IS is 6MP though a 2MP drop from what you are looking at, but having the MP's so close I don't think your photos would suffer.

I would have to agree that on both, the flash takes along time to recharge. I did however decide on the SX100. It was on sale at Circuit city an amazon.com for just under $240.
I went to I to flicker.com and used the tag for each camera. I saw pics from both cameras. Ultimately I like the SX100 pics better.
Good luck with your decision.
P.S. I would have liked the S3 or S5 but they were out of our budget.
