Hi All! Time for a quick check-in before I head out the door to work!
Well, I got about 3 hours sleep last night! I had to get up at 2AM, as Kevin's coworker told us his plane was due in about 3AM and we wanted to be there to greet him. Well, we (Jared and Katelyn went along) sat and waited and sat and waited and sat and waited. At least they let us wait in the chow hall and they had coffee, soda, doughnuts and poptarts for us. Luckily, I was able to resist the sweets! The base chaplain introduced himself and sat and talked with us for a while. There weren't too many other people waiting, surprisingly. Maybe they were making their men wait until a more decent hour to get picked up! Well, by the time they landed, went through customs, and were brought by bus to where we all were waiting, it was almost 5 AM! We didn't get home until about 5:45. Jared just stayed up since he had to leave in a little over an hour to catch his bus. Katelyn got to go back to sleep until 7:15. I tried to go back to bed, but Kevin was showing me pictures on his laptop. Of course, by the time he finally got to bed, he went immediately to sleep, and about 5 minutes later my alarm went off!! So, HE should be okay by the time we all get home. But, I'll need a nap!!
Gotta run! Just wanted to let everyone know he made it home okay. He laughed when we pulled onto our street and we could see our house from a distance with all the Christmas lights burning brightly!!
