We had a great meal at Coral Reef, while part of our Grand Gathering had a disappointing experience at Le Cellier. Awful, awful service. It took 3 hours to eat.
If you want a character buffet, I recommend Crystal Palace.
My favorite Signature restaurant is Narcoossee's at GF.

My Favorite Restaurants:
Whispering Canyon: My Husband and I went here for his birthday and had a wonderful time! You must get into the spirit of it though.
Liberty Tree Tavern: Love the Atmosphere, the traditional thanksgiving menu, and the interaction with the classiv characters.
California grill: If you are looking for a nice dinner, this can't be beat!

I'm not feeling well and I can't sleep...I think I'll go on the DIS! Anyway, I would probably say Coral Reef as well if you don't already have that. We heard mixed reviews but had WONDERFUL service and our food was great.

We love Ohana. The food is great, it's so much fun and we had great service both times we went.
The kids vote is Chef Mickeys for dinner. The food is good not great but it is fun!

My absolute favorite is Ohana hands down. The food was excellent and the entertainment was great. The atmosphere at the Poly is exceptional. Our only must do at Disney.

Many people love the Coral Reef, although it is not a hit with our family. Maybe more because we have two of the same-concept restaurants here locally so there isn't any magic in it, and the seafood is just okay.
Our favorite dinners on the DDP are Les Chefs de France for the braised lamb with pearl pasta (c'est magnifique!); the Biergarten for atmosphere and schnitzel; Artist Point (2 credits, though); and Crystal Palace - the only character dinner on our favorites list.

I have two DD's ages 3 and 7 and we all love Ohana. The food there is excellent and the entertainment is great for them. Next, we would have to go with Whispering Canyons based on the "entertainment" more-so than the food. The food is fine but BBQ can be had anywhere. As you can maybe tell, we dine largely based on the kids and their whims.

Crystal Palace, Akerhause (Norway in Epcot), and Liberty Tree Tavern are my top 3, because...
Crystal Palace: food - buffet style and it was actually tasty. Granted we went for breakfast, so the food was typical breakfast food, but with all the people there and it was fresh was a definite plus in our book! Also the character interaction was wonderful.
Akerhause: (sorry for the spelling if it's not correct). Again, we went for breakfast and they have a buffet for some stuff, but the food (typical breakfast food) was brought to the table "family style". Food was hot and tasty. Character interaction was wonderful too. (Princesses and Mary Poppins - was great!)
Liberty Tree Tavern: Food was family style and so much to eat and it was really tasty. Character interaction was great too.
We had no kids - just 3 adults and we had the best time at the above three. In our opinions the DDP was the best at these three. Where else can you go and have fun, eat, and all you do is just sign a slip and off you go? :) We did have the best waitstaff so we did end up leaving an "extra" tip but it was well worth it!
just my 2 cents!

Tutto Italia! By a mile!
Second would be Tokyo Dining.

I'm assuming OP was not wanting any of the 2 TS restaurants.
First choice then would be BOMA. Excellent variety of food that generally cannot be had many other places.
