DHs family rotates the dishes every year for about 50 of the clan and this year I've been asked to bring a salad (not cranberry). since most of the food is on the "heavy" side... .DHs relatives are not known for calorie counting :laughing: , I am thinking of bringing a good fruit salad with alot of different fruits and melons. Simple yet good. Do you have any other recipe that would make me a hit????:idea:

Our standby is:

* Mixed field greens
* Crumbled feta cheese
* Toasted sliced or slivered almonds
* Fresh blueberries or other fruit. (At this time of year, pomegranate seeds would be a festive substitution!)

We love this with Girard's Light Champagne Vinaigrette. I also absolutely love the new line of dressings from Naturally Fresh; the Pomango (Pomegranate/Mango) would be great on this!

Broccoli Slaw is always a hit. A lot of the posters here have different versions of the slaw, mine is:

1 bag (16 oz.) broccoli cole slaw
1 bag (3 oz.) Snack Ramen Oriental Noodle Soup (Oriental flavor)
1/3 c. toasted slivered almonds
1 c. cooking oil
6 tbsp. sugar
6 tbsp. vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 c. chopped green onions may also be added

Place shredded broccoli into bowl with onions. Crush oriental noodles and add to salad. Mix oil, sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper, and flavor packet (from soup mix).
Right before serving pour dressing over salad and toss to coat.
