I want to request our loop and site like I did for this last trip for our trip next December and didn't know if it was best to call or if they gave you a place while booking online to make any requests. First year we booked online but that was originally at the Wilderness Lodge before we bought our motorhome so I called to change it and I can't remember if there was a spot to add requests. This past trip I called in. Just curious.
Thanks guys!

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! :santa:

Thanks Gatordad! Tell me about it. How many times do they have to ask you how many times you have been to Disney, was it in the last five years, blah, blah, blah!!! I would prefer to go online.

I always call to make the reservations.

DW booked online once and I later called to see if I could get a discount that became available. The CM told me the Online Booking had to be cancelled because discounts could not be applied to an Online Booking. Computer system would not allow it.

The CM made a new booking with the discount and then cancelled the online booking. I asked about this another time I booked and was told the same thing.

Thanks for the info. I did actually get to use a discount the first year they wouldn't let me this year. I haven't heard of people having much luck with that. Glad you could get it. :thumbsup2

35th trip. Wow.

I wonder if they just don't give many discounts in December even though it is the beginning of the month??

I usually go online too and see what they have. If they don't, I always enjoy tinkering with the dates to make em work. If I want a discount I call and see what they have. Like this week it was $10 cheaper a night with AP rate.

I have the prompts memorized so no 20 ?'s for me. Very rarely will I get a discount so it's of no use asking unless it's off peak time which I'm not usually here for.

I book online. There is a text box that you can use to make request. We don’t always get all our request but they do acknowledge that we made them. Be sure and list them in order of importance. List what you want most first.

It's sad really........hehehehe

Ya know...if Papa John's knows where we live, what our last order consisted of, and wether or not we tipped the driver before they even answer the phone, then Disney should be able to remember if we've been to Disney before, if we've visited since 2002, and if we've visited 5 or more times!!! Do they mean 5 or more times since 2002, or 5 or more times total? And if I didnt stick around for the 10 question survey LAST time, why would I be interested in it THIS time? Cant they spend spend some of our vacation dollars on CALLER I.D.? And when ya call to modify plans they ask you to enter your 10 digit reservation #, then the LIVE CAST MEMBER ask you for the same #...did they think I was lying the first time? Or maybe they think Ive aquired the secret reservation # of someone else and I was only calling to goof up his reservation, because....I just might WOULD actually do something like that, but most people wouldnt!!!

I forgot to mention that I just booked last night online. I think I will call at some point to double check they got my requests. This year we got the loop but not the same site but that was ok. I really liked the site we had this year along the little creek. Loads of wildlife there. I just wish to be somewhere in that area by the creek. Hopefully they can hook me up.

Good luck getting a discount in June. I couldn't get one for the life of me last June. They told me that there wasn't one. I didn't try AAA, should have. I only tried AP and FL Res. Good luck to you.

I like calling, but online is easier.

Just got off phone with CRO and made May/June '08 reservations with a AAA discount. Saved good bucks and will check back closer to dates for Fl. Resident or Pass Holder discounts.

As soon as the phone was computer answered I started punching in the numbers 1 and 2 and a few #s and in 6 seconds was talking to CM for reservations. No need to wait for all the questions.

Would not have been able to get AAA discount if done online.

Just have to figure out where we have our 35th anniversary dinner.

It's definately a pain in the butt..... that's why i always go online rather than playing their stupid game.

We booked online this time for next Oct it was the first and last time I will use the online booking feature. I wanted to pay tweh balance of teh stay off and was told the only way I could was to pay it when we arrive next Oct. They took our payment when I asked them to then it was reversed back to our VISA. So from now on if I am not using Member Services to book my DVC room I am calling CRO to book that way no more online booking for me.

Strange you couldn't pay it in full. :confused3 I had the option of just paying the deposit or paying the whole thing.

Each time I have tried to get the AAA discount I have been told there are none available. Personally I think if you have AAA you should get the discount period. I don't think they should select certain sites or whatever they do.

There are so many great places to eat that could be a challenge. A nice challenge though. Good luck. :thumbsup2

Just have to figure out where we have our 35th anniversary dinner.

We had dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table, and it was simply AMAZING. Its a little tough getting a ressie, but let them know its your anniversary and you'd like a table with a view of the carousel thats just behind the castle, and if its available...try to reserve it for just before the fireworks start.....thats romance baby!!!!::yes:: :flower3:   :lovestruc :love2: puckerup: :cloud9: Ooohh, and be carefull....you may fall deeper in love with the prime rib than the wife!!!! That was the best prime rib Ive ever, in my life....IN MY LIFE, had. Some disney foods ok, some is even better...but I couldnt believe this stuff came out of a disney kitchen. Good luck and CONGRATS on the 35 years!!!

My DMIL ordered 2 prime rib dinners for me at our reception because I was a big eater, (she loved it when I came over for dinner), but never got to eat them and boy was she unhappy. Never let me forget it:laughing:  . She was the best MIL in the world.

Have you tried getting in touch with Rhonda our moderator about booking through Dreams Unlimited? They take care of any discounts and you don't have to do anything! It's the best so far--no fuss, no worry (although she keeps sending email reminders on how many weeks we have left to go, but she also give little tips that we didn't know anything about and that's great also.)

Thanks for the recommendation. I didn't realize that until just recently that Rhonda did that. Show how alert I am. Duh!
I will keep that in mind for next time. I usually book land stuff myself and have a local agent take care of our cruises.

Ya my option was pay the deposit or pay the deposit then when I called to pay the balance they charged my card an additional 50 some bucks then credited it back and told me I could not pay anything more till I arrived.
