birth certificate

I have sent a PM to Michelle but can anyone else answer my question....

Leaving for my first cruise next week on a 3 day wonder. My birth certificate shows my maiden name. All my other documents, credit card, license etc are in my married name. I no longer have the scrap of paper that city hall gave me saying I am married.

What's a girl to do? Do I have to head back to City Hall for a copy of the certificate or will the birth certificate (old name and all) do?

I answered Denise's PM but for anyone else who is wondering, you do not need your marriage license. :)

Disney checks the first name and date of birth on your photo ID to make sure they match the first name and date of birth on your certified birth certificate...and as long as they match, you're good to go!

Is the procedure the same for men also? My husband was adopted by his step-father as a teenager. His birth certificate has one last name but his drivers license has a different last name. Will he be okay, or does he need to bring other proof of idenity?

Good question. My wife and I were wondering the same thing since this will be our first cruise too. Our TA told us that what he usually does is put the wife's maiden name as her middle name (kind of like the hyphenated double last names) on all the reservation documents. That way, both last names will be on the cruise documents. He said he wouldn't expect any problems though either way.

Now all I've got to do is track down our birth certificates . . .

Babynurse, can your husband get a copy of the adoption documents? I would bring those just in case. With married women they know that the majority change their name from their maiden name, but in situations like your husband's I think I would bring along any documentation that explains the different last name.
