View Full Version : Lock-off Studio at VWL?

We recently made ressies for our first trip "home" in June. On the confirmation form I received today it says "Studio lock-off". My understanding is that a lock-off has a door to a one-bedroom that can be "locked off" or left open to make a 2-bedroom. I'm wondering why our ressies specify that. Is that all VWL has for studios? If not, would it be quieter if we could get a regular studio-it would seem that door wouldn't muffle noise as well as a wall. Also, we made ressies for the last night at OKW, just to try a different resort. Our ressies there, also for a studio, don't say "lock-off". Can anyone tell me why we got what we did?

I think that you are correct about the lock-off. We stayed in studio in VWL in Dec. and asked for a decicated studio when we made our ressies. We got a studio that was by itself on the first floor right next to the laundry. We were afraid that we would hear noise from the laundry, but we heard nothing. It was one of the quietest rooms that we have ever had at Disney. I don't think that VWL have many dedicated studios.

believe you would like a lock-off better than the studio I got - It didn't have a door to a 1-bedroom but the view

I believe all OKW studios & 1 bedrooms are lockoffs.

I've stayed at lock-off studios in OKW (never VWL) and didn't have a problem with noise etc because of the door.

We stayed in a lock-off (and I was under the impression that was all there was at VWL) in January. At one point during our time there, we were told by an on-site guide that the villas were 100 percent sold out and we didn't hear a sound from another person there. Not above us, next to us or even in the hall. We were very impressed by the quiet in the villas!

You'll be fine with the lock-off. Have a great time!

Same here, when we were there in October 01 had a lock-off studio and it was very quite. We didn't hear our neighbors next door, although we saw them a few times in the hall. We also didn't hear noises from above either. And I believe that it was fully booked when we went also. Enjoy!!
