I’m so excited to start my PJ. I love reading everyone’s PJs and TRs and you have all given me some great ideas for my wedding. Everyone here has been really helpful and I hope that by writing this PJ, I will also be able to help someone else in return.

I am a huge Disney fanatic! DF wasn’t really into Disney and couldn’t really understand why I had to keep going back. I went on a few trips without him because he refused to go with me. Then one day he surprised me by telling me that he would take me there because he knew how much I wanted him to go with me one day. We went to Disney World together for the first time in November 2006. I remember while we were on the Magical Express heading to the airport to go home, he whispered in my ear: “I don’t want to go home yet.” I had the biggest smile on my face when I heard that because that’s when I knew he was hooked and we would be back again soon. Since then, we bought annual passes and went back to Disney 6 more times together

The Proposal:

In October of 2006 (before DF realized he loved Disney) I went to Disney with my sister and 2 cousins because we were going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party for the first time. We had so much fun that we decided to go again this year. I told DF that he should come with us but he said he couldn’t because he had just started a new job a few months ago and couldn’t take the time off. I was sad, but I understood where he was coming from. We were at Animal Kingdom in the morning and DF had called a couple of times to see what we were doing. I told him we were leaving AK soon to go to Epcot for our 2:50 ADR at Garden Grill. We got to Epcot and while we were walking underneath Spaceship Earth (one of my favorite rides), I hear someone behind me yell “Excuse me, your cell phone is ringing.” I turned around to see who was saying that because how could they know my cell phone was ringing if my phone was on vibrate? I turned around and there was DF standing right in front of me. I was shocked and all I said was “what are you doing here?” My sister and cousins were all just as confused as I was. He then said to me, are you surprised? I told him yes and he said he had another surprise for me. He took out the ring got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was totally speechless, shocked, happy… I had so many emotions going through me at the same time, but I managed to say yes. A lot of people were clapping and saying congratulations. Sometimes I still can’t believe it happened.

Here is a reenactment of the proposal. He even brought his Incredibles t-shirt so he can match us for the rest of the day.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/IMG_0273.jpg
Here were are dressed as the Incredibles, taking some fun Halloween pictures with our costumes on

Later on he told me that he had taken a 7am flight that morning to Orlando and just waited at the Epcot entrance for us to come in. He knew were going be in Epcot by 2:30 because we had a 2:50 ADR. He spotted us as soon as we came in because you couldn’t miss us by the way we were dressed. He was also walking behind us and was trying to call me to mess around with me some more before surprising me, but I didn’t realize my phone was ringing. Which is why he said that whole “Excuse me, your cell phone is ringing” comment.

That night I moved all my stuff from my room at All Star Sports to his room at Coronado Springs. When we came in, we were greeted by these guys:

DF had asked the front desk if they could make some special towel animals for me because I love towel animals and he was going to propose to me that day.

Here is a picture of my e-ring

What a romantic story! That is so wonderful! Just think of the lifetime of Disney memories you will share, starting with those two very special memories - that moment on ME and that awesome proposal!

Looking forward to hearing all about your planning!

Hi!! Thank you so much for reading! Dressing up as the Incredibles was a lot of fun. We did it for Halloween last year as well and a lot of the CM's got a kick out of it. Only this time I got engaged in it :)

Hi Cam! Thank you for reading! I will never forgot those 2 moments. They were definitely really special to me and I can't wait for the new memories that are about to come. I'm sure you can't either - your VR is going to be beautiful!

Thank you so much for your sweet comments! I love my ring too :goodvibes. The center stone is an emerald cut, 1.12 carat.
I honestly have to say I was rather impressed with his planning. I was the planner for all of our trips. I booked everything..room, ME, ADRs, flights... you name it. All he had to do was show up. So the fact that he managed to book everything by himself without my knowledge was amazing. I taught him well ;)

yay! you started a pj! what an "incredible" engagement story, your ring is beautiful! i love it! i can't wait to read about all of your plans!

;) Thank you Caryn! I've wanted to start a PJ for some time now. It just took me awhile to get all my things together. Thank you for reading!!

I must confess that I started planning for my Disney wedding even before I got engaged. I knew it was going to happen eventually, I just didn’t know when. Thanks to the disboards and all you wonderful ladies, I was able to get some great ideas and I pretty much knew exactly what kind of wedding I wanted.

So as soon as we came home from our trip, I called Disney right away to book a date. A couple days later I got a call from Pam Pearce telling me that I got my date, time, and all the locations I wanted. I was super excited!!!! :woohoo: Pam was great! She was really helpful and was always really quick in getting back to me when I had a question. I received my contract and sent it back about 3 weeks ago. I recently got assigned Celeste as my WP. I’ve only spoken to Celeste once so far, but she seems very sweet.

I will be having a custom/Wishes wedding with around 40 – 50 guests. My favorite color is purple so I’ve decided to use different shades of purple for my wedding colors. I’ve always loved the whole hidden Mickey thing so I decided to use that as my theme for the wedding. Its going to be a hidden and not so hidden Mickey theme because there are going to be some obvious Mickey’s around.

When I first decided I wanted a Disney wedding I wasn’t sure how to go about it because I lived so far away. I was thinking how in the world am I going to know where and who to go to? This board definitely put those worries to rest.

Randy Chapman was the second person I contacted after Disney. Disney hadn’t even confirmed my date, but I was worried that Randy would get booked if I didn’t call right away. I got his number off his website and Linda answered the phone. She was very sweet on the phone and told me that Randy was available on my date and for the whole day!! So I booked the 7 hour package with him. I’ve already sent in my deposit and contract.

The next person I contacted was Beaute Speciale. A lot of brides on here have used Ana in the past and have been very happy with her. I sent them an email and that night I got a response from someone named Veronica letting me know that they were available for my date. She also told me that they couldn’t confirm right now that it would be Ana who would be doing my hair/makeup since the day was so far away. She said that as the day gets closer we could confirm it.

Then I had to choose an officiant. I decided to go with Rev. Kevin Knox. He was great with responding to my emails. Anytime I had a question for him, I would get a response before the end of the day. I sent him a deposit and he sent me some samples of the different ceremonies that he had. I basically cut and paste the parts I wanted from each section and put together my own thing.

More plans to come! With pictures! :goodvibes

Wow! You have made so much progress already! I am so happy for you to see that all of the vendors you wanted are available. That must be such a relief! Everything sounds great! The Living Seas looks like such a lovely place for a reception. My big concern has been about my guests having to have park tickets if we did an EPCOT location. Will your guests have to have park tickets to attend the reception and dessert party?

Hi Cam! No, if you are having a ceremony, reception, or a dessert party at one of the parks, the guests will not need park tickets to get in. The only thing is that Disney will require you to hire a motorcoach to take the guests through a backstage area and have them enter through there. They will not be going through the main entrance like everyone else. There will be CM's leading you into your location. HTH!

Ok ladies, I need some help. I'm having a little bit of trouble deciding which dress I like more. I'm going to just post the link on here in case DF comes across my PJ. Please let me know what you think.

Jesse, don't look - you promised...

I've only tried on dress #1 and I really love it, but I really like #2 and #3 also.

#1
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=vidal&line=m&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=8&style=A602

#2
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=tuscana&line=m&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=8&style=A614

#3
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=jorie&line=m&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=8&style=S774

#1 just feels really princess-y to me and I like that it has some "poof" to it. The other 2 have a similar style but not as much poofiness. :rotfl: I don't even think thats a word, but oh well. I would love to hear what you guys think.

you need to go with #1. poofiness is a word. if the poof is important to you then you need to go with it. that's one of the reasons i'm a 2 dress bride, my #1 didn't have enough poof!

Good morning, Catherine! I have to vote for #1, as well. I have this philosophy -- you only get to do the poofy dress for your wedding. It's not like you'd wear that for an evening gown or to a black-tie event, right? I just think a wedding dress has to be a dream dress of a style that you'd never get to wear for anything else.

All that said, you will look absolutely gorgeous in any of those choices! Have fun with the selection process, try a bunch of dresses and find your "dream" dress! :sunny:

ETA: Okay, I feel like a total goof! Was your name always in the title of your planning journal? :rolleyes2 Silly me! I was looking at your user name and your signature!
BTW, you need to add your engagement pic to your signature. It is way too cute!

Thanks Shanna! I was a little bit worried that it was too much poof because I'm on the shorter side - 5"0 to be exact and I was afraid the poof would make me look even shorter.

Hey there!! My vote is for dress #3. I love all of the embroidery and the way that the sash cascades in the back. :goodvibes

I love this dress too. Its just so elegant. The other thing I love about this dress is that its so light. Well compared to dress #1 that is. It might work better because October can still be kind of hot. I'm definitely going to put this on my "dresses to try on" list.

Congratulations!!

Thank you so much for your wedding dress opinions! I think one day I'm just going to go in and try on every Maggie Sottero dress I can get my hands on and go from there. I will definitely post those pictures because it is so different seeing a dress on the actual person than a model.

Anyway, on to shoes!!! I'm only 5"0 and DF is 5"11. I definitely want something with a heel because I don't want him to look like a giant compared to me. These are my favorite so far:
http://media.redgaloshes.com/sq/273/009191.jpg

These other 2 are also cute and have a lower heel:

Catherine – They are all really cute. Key consideration –your shoes MUST be comfortable! You don’t want to forego walking to different places to take pix or having your feet hurt during dancing at your reception. My philosophy on shoes (LOL!!!) is that if I am making decisions about whether to walk over and greet someone or whether to dance or whether to pose for one more picture based on the fact that my feet hurt, I chose the wrong shoes! :lmao:

Oh, and yes, my name is Cam. :)

You will love it! I didn't have a "the one" moment with it, but it's one of my front runnners :goodvibes

I agree with you that the shoes should be comfortable. I almost decided to wear flip flops because I LIVE in flip flops. I decided not to go with them because DF is almost a foot taller than me. I figure its my wedding day and I can be 5'3 if I want to ;) . I really do love shoe #1, maybe I should order them now and take the time to break them in. Is it silly to buy the shoes before the dress?

i like #1!!!

It is my favorite of the 3. I also thought about buying the ones you bought at David's Bridal. I believe they were called Marissa? Do you remember how much they were? I think those have a lower heel than shoe #1.

Catherine -- Have you considered a wedge flip flop? A lot of the girls, including my DD, wore them to the prom and they were really cute. Very decorated with satin trim over the top of the foot, embellished with sequins. I'd bet you could find very fancy wedge flip flops if you were interested. DD said the good thing is they give you the comfort of a flip flop and the height of a heel, without all of your weight being on the ball of your foot. Does that make sense? Just something to consider.

As for buying the shoe early, the only disadvantage I see is if you ultimately decided to go with a non-white gown and had purchased a white shoe.

Here are a few bouquets that I really like. I want my bouquet to be mainly purple, but not all purple. I also definitely want stephanotis with little hidden mickeys in them to go with my theme. I'm not really fond of greenery so I'm going to skip those. I think my bridesmaids are going to have bouquets similar to mine, only smaller.

I also really like this bouquet, but I would like some purple colored roses in there
http://www.sashaefloralarts.com/mediac/400_0/media/Sahara$20Bouquet.jpg

After doing some research, it looks like some of the most popular purple colored flowers are allure roses, cool water roses, blue bird roses, and blue curiosa roses. I've also seen some purple mini calla lillies that are really pretty too.

I love bouquet jewels, I think they are so cute. I haven't decided if I'm going to get them yet, but if I do - I want to either get our initials or the butterfly. The jewels are kind of pricey though.

I really like this bouquet!

[FONT="Arial"]I was thinking about using an outside florist for my flowers. I will have to get my floral for the reception from Disney since its at LSS. I might go to Peddles for the bouquets, boutennires, and rose petals. I'm going to contact them and maybe see if I can get a quote. I'm not quite sure how much Disney will be charging me if I were to get all the bouquets from them, but it will probably be a lot more than Peddles.:confused3

I might go with Peddles as well, once I see what Disney wants to charge me (I want lots of flowers :goodvibes ) ... I never realized that flowers were so expensive until now!

Thats a great idea Caryn :thumbsup2! I just might have to add that to the "project list". I love how you're so crafty. I gotta say though, I do get frustrated easily and might just go out and buy them:rolleyes:

Hey Liz!
Thanks! I really like this bouquet too. I love how all the colors blend so well in the bouquet, thats why I don't know if my purple flowers will work in it. I don't really want the purple to stick out like a sore thumb, but rather flow with the rest of the colors. I don't know if that made sense to anyone :rotfl: I want a lot of flowers too which is why I'm really scared to find out what Disney is going to charge me.
In LSS they only have tables of 6 that you must use. Which means: smaller tables = more tables = more centerpieces = more $$$ = :scared1:. I'll probably have to just cut down on the actual centerpiece size. Anyway, Kristen was saying that so far her experience with Peddles has been great so that might definitely be an option.

I was looking around on blue nile the other day and found a couple wedding bands I like. I wanted a wedding band that square shaped diamonds in it so it would sort of match my e-ring. This is my e-ring:

http://www.bluenile.com/assets/product_images/rings/DM36500500_EC_125_200zoom.jpg

And this is the wedding band I want:
http://www.bluenile.com/assets/product_images/rings/AB15502700_200zoom.jpg
My e-ring is an emerald cut, but the wedding band diamonds are princess cut. I think it will still look nice together. DF isn't completely sold on this ring yet because he said its too expensive, but I'm working on it. I'm going to be wearing it everyday... so why not have something I love? :)

This is the other band I thought was nice too but wasn't sure if it would look good with my e-ring. There is a pretty big price difference between the 2 and I'm sure DF would rather I get this one based on the price factor.
http://www.bluenile.com/assets/product_images/rings/AB15500300_200zoom.jpg

But price issue aside, which band do you think would look nicer with my e-ring?

I think we are going to get a simple wedding band for DF. Something similar to this:
http://www.bluenile.com/assets/product_images/rings/WB36502400_200zoom.jpg

When did you guys start buying your wedding bands? Its probably too soon to pick out wedding bands already, but its always fun to look.

Thank you! I'm really starting to like that one a lot too. At first I wasn't sure because the shapes of the diamonds on the wedding band are all different from the shapes on my e-ring. So I was afraid it would "clash". I don't know, maybe I'm just being picky.

Mousekeeping Envelopes
I was on the creative designs board the other day and I came across a thread that had all of these really cute designs for Mousekeeping envelopes. I heard somewhere that if you just leave money on the table for Mousekeeping, they aren’t suppose to take it, unless there is a note or something saying the tip is for them. I’m not sure if this is true, but if it is – I thought this was such a cute way to give it to them.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03155.jpg

There is a Chip & Dale (my favorite characters) envelope which we can use at any resort. The last one has a wedding theme on it, which we will use when paying our vendors. I believe I also saw some Disney cruise designs that I want to use for when we go on our cruise.

Kid’s Welcome Bags
I haven’t made the actual bags yet, but these are the things I’m going to put in the welcome bags for the kids that will be coming to the wedding. I will also have a welcome bag for each family, but I thought it would be cute for the kids to have their own bags as well. There will be around 7 kids coming, mostly girls and a few boys.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03164.jpg

The girls love the princesses so those things were pretty easy to find. I got the boys some “Cars” and “POTC” themed things. I found everything for $1 either at Target or Michaels. Can’t get any better than that. :woohoo:

More to come!

I can't decide if I want to do a buffet or plated dinner. Our reception is going to be from 4:30 - 8:30. There won't be any dancing so we won't have a DJ. DF and I will still probably have our first dance, but thats about it. We are going to either bring a cd or our ipod for background music.

So, what I'm thinking is - should I go for the plated dinner because it will probably take longer? I think it will help the time go by because I feel like people will eat much faster if there is a buffet. I also was thinking about having the ice sculpture sorbet course and I heard that you can only have it for plated dinners :confused3

Does anyone know for the plated dinner, if you can have more than one option for the entree? For example a beef entree and a fish entree and the guest can choose which one they'd rather have?

I also like the buffet because it gets people to move around and mingle. You also get a lot more food options with the buffet. Thing is, I'm afraid that people will eat too fast and then be bored for the rest of the reception.

I'm just kind of lost with this whole thing and don't know which one to choose

caryndisneydiva
12-28-2007, 12:03 PM
you can have a choice of entrees, but it's more expensive. if this helps...the buffet is served for an hour and a half. i am renting a cd boombox for our reception, we have the pianist, but he'll take breaks so i need to make cds...anyway...hth.

I really like the idea of a sit down dinner. Also, I agree that it would take up more time. Plus a sorbet course would be really different. The only thing I don't know is if a sit down cost more than the buffet.

lurkyloo
12-28-2007, 04:02 PM
Sit-down meals and buffets seem to work out about the same price-wise with Disney, unless you're talking about say a brunch buffet vs. sit-down dinner.

I'm not sure how much mingling the buffet really encourages, since at every wedding reception I've been to, people don't stand around chatting on the way to eat - they make a beeline for the food! :rotfl:

For some reason I'm really wanting a plated dinner. Just because all the weddings I've been to have been buffet style. I've only been to one wedding that was plated and I really enjoyed it. DF is more concerned with there being enough food options for everyone. For example, if we pick the chicken, what if certain people don't like chicken? Which is where having the guest choose their entree came up.

I think Caryn is right about it being more expensive to have the guest choose. I feel like I read that somewhere and they were saying that the food would also take longer to come out if I chose that option.

The plated dinner and buffet come out to about almost the same, not too much of a difference. Its more of the style in which I want dinner to be served that I'm not sure about. The sorbet course with the ice sculpture is so unique and I really wanted to add that on, but $20 per person is pretty steep so I might still change my mind.

I really wanted a plated dinner but with ariels we cant have that. Weddings here are always plated so I thought it would be good to have the buffet.

When we go to wedding here we never get a choice and its mostly chicken as everyone will mostly eat it. I think if you want a plated then go for it your paying for it and its your day, dont worry about what other people will want as long as you will both eat.

Thats what we are diong *** we are always trying to please veryone and you just cant do it all the time

Caryn, Liz, and Orangetiggs:
For the buffet, do you guys know if the dishes get refilled if it gets finished? I'm just wondering because don't want anything run out. I went to a wedding once that had a buffet and they never refilled the food. Our table was one of the last tables called up and we were literally scraping the bottom of all the pans for whatever was left. No one was able to get seconds because there was barely even enough food to begin with. It was pretty sad and I don't want that to happen.

We originally planned to serve a double entree at the plated dinner (both beef and chicken) no sorbet, and the cost was about $150.00 (with taxes) pp (that included the cocktail hour food also)......

So you could have a double entree maybe fish and chicken for less $$. We are from the south and usually all wedding receptions are buffets but my daughter wanted the plated dinner because she felt it would be more sophisticated, etc...... we ended up cutting the budget some and reduced it back to one single entree of chicken.....but you do have the option (at least with the GF catering)

The rehearsal dinner is going to be buffet (courtesy of the groom's parents) so it should make for a nice variety of dining options for the two nights:yay:

We got our APs and signed contract the other day! :woohoo: I was worried at first because Celeste’s assistant told me that it was sent certified mail and someone would need to sign for it. DF and I both work during the day so no one would be home and I was afraid I would miss it. Luckily it came on a Saturday and we got it with no problems :yay:.

We are scheduled to go down to Disney for our planning session on April 4th . I’m so excited to go! Unfortunately we won’t be able to stay very long :sad1:, just a weekend trip. We were originally going to activate our new APs when we go down for the PS, but we would only be there for 2 days. After the PS we won’t be going back to Disney again till October for the wedding. We would be wasting 6 months worth of valuable AP time for the months in between April and October. We still have some regular park day tickets left over from previous trips that we’ll use and just activate the APs when we go down for the wedding in October.

Wedding Cake

Celeste sent me the information with all the different types of wedding cakes that they have. There are so many that I like! But the one that I like the most is the Mickey Wave Cake.

http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee266/ronnieronjon/DisneyCakes/MickeyWave-SmallSilver.jpg

Its simple, pretty , and goes with my hidden Mickey theme. I also love the white chocolate castle. I was thinking of maybe changing the ribbon they have around the bottom of the cake to a purple ribbon.

I don’t think we will be bringing home the anniversary layer home because we will still be in Disney for another 12 days after the wedding. We’ll probably just take it back to the room and snack on it. I definitely want to try to take the chocolate castle home though. I think I read somewhere that they will ship it to your home for $45 for the small castle and $75 for the larger castle.

After looking at the cake flavor list, I’ve decided to go with these flavors: almond cake with amaretto mousse, red velvet cake with cream cheese filling, and yellow cake with Bavarian cream & fresh strawberries. I’m not sure which layer will have which yet, but I would like each guest to have 2 slices of cake (different flavors). I’m planning to taste these cake flavors during my PS so based on how that goes, the flavors may or may not change.

This is how I want our cake table to look, except with maybe a lavender color and silver runners.
I believe this picture came from Carrie’s PJ (Thanks Carrie, I hope you don’t mind ;)). I love the way it looks, very simple – not too much going on. I might have the bridesmaids put their flowers on the table, but I’m not sure yet.

I bought this garter set on ebay a few months ago. I don’t know if you can see it but one of the garters has Cinderella’s coach on it and the other has the glass slipper. I love them! The lady who made them was super nice and customized one for me in purple. We won’t be doing a garter toss, but I thought it would be fun to wear them anyway.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03166.jpg

I also bought these on ebay and I’m going to iron them on to tank tops for the bridesmaids. I saw a few other dis brides do this and thought it was really cute. We’ll probably wear them during the rehearsal and the welcome dinner. I’m going to wear the “Just Married” one the day after the wedding.

Yay! Our first member :cheer2:

your garters are so cute!

Thank you Laura! I was thinking I should've gotten in blue though - for my something blue. But I still like the purple a lot.

I love that cake. We do not get as many choices on the Disney Cruise Line for cakes. If we did yours would be the one I picked!!!

Aww thanks!

i used those rhinestone word things on my rehearsal day wear! they are fantastic, that ebay lady does a really good job!

Yea, I think we may have gotten them from the same lady. Mine look very similar to yours.

This is the tux I have decided DF is going to wear. Its from Carolyn Allens website. I think I'm going to get it exactly the way its shown in the picture.

http://www.jimsformalwear.com/images/product/333_barrington.jpg

Originally I was going to have him go pick one out, but he really doesn't care to go look so I took it upon myself to find him one. He said he liked it when I showed him. I was going back and forth about using Carolyn Allen, but in the end - I'd rather have the convenience of getting the tuxes dropped off and picked up. Its just one less thing to deal with.

I called them to get a quote on the rental and they told me $150. That seemed expensive to me, but I wasn't sure because I never rented a tux before. When I got home, I asked DF how much he had to pay to rent a tux when he was a groomsman at his friend's wedding. He told me almost $200 so I guess this price is normal :confused3.

I was going to have all the guys wear the exact same thing, but now I'm not sure. I noticed in other weddings the groom would wear a different color tie or something to stand out from the rest. But I really like how the black and gray look together. I was thinking maybe a different color boutonniere for him instead? What do you guys think?

The base package at CA's is $115. Then $15 to add a specialty vest and $15 for shoes. After hours is $120 per person. There are cheaper places... Mens warehouse is about $100 for everything... if I were you I'd absolutely pay for the convenience and reputation of CA's.

Is that a tux or a suit? You could always get that for your DF and then get the groomsmen the basic notch lapel tux which is $115 + 15 for the vest. I'm having Rob stand out by getting him a white shirt and white vest (vs black for the groomsmen).

I might have missed this somewhere but how many guests are you having?

We're pretty much having the same wedding, except that ours will be one year later! And I still haven't exactly decided on the dessert party location, although one of the UK terraces is a strong possibility!

Edit: Never mind, I've found it now 40-50 guests! :upsidedow

Yes - Carolyn Allen is more expensive than a place that doesn't deliver - we were quoted $80 in Los Angeles for the tux CA is charging us $120 for. We almost didn't go with CA because they can't exchange pieces over the weekend, and I'm terrified they will bring the wrong sizes for DF and his best man. (At the best man's wedding, all the groomsmen's tuxes were too big, and they looked ridiculous.)

That's a nice suit you picked out! A lot of people do a different boutonniere for the groom to make him stand out from the groomsmen. We are doing that, plus a different lapel - peak for DF and notch for everyone else.... no one will notice, I'm sure! Oh, and DF gets a hidden Mickey in his bout.

Kristen,
Where are you getting you tuxes from? I think I am most likely going to go to CA's just for the convenience. Also after hearing some horror stories about After Hours, I don't think I will have the strength to deal with it if something were to come up. So far CA's have been great with sending me info and answering my questions so I think they're the way to go. Thats a great idea about getting the basic for the groomsmen. I will look into that. Oh, and it's a tux. ;)

Hi Meryll! A lot of other brides have chosen to have have their DP at one of the UK terraces and have been very happy with the location. I also like the fact that it has benches for people to sit on. I also love the Italy Isola, but I believe it had a 100 person minimum.

Oooh Carrie! I didn't even think about getting a hidden Mickey for DF's bout. What a great idea! It goes with our hidden Mickey theme! I was so caught up in having hidden Mickey's in my bouquet I didn't even think about DF :upsidedow . Well now he is going to get one! :goodvibes

What do you mean by they can't exchange pieces over the weekend? My wedding is on a Sunday.. is that going to be a problem? Are you going with CA's also?

I really loved the Italy Isola as a location, I was disappointed it needed such a high minumum as it doesn't seem that big when you're on it, but hey....

So how did you choose between Upper and Lower UK?

I like the idea of Lower so you don't have another group of people in front of you, but thought that you had to hire chairs down there, whereas Upper has the umbrellas and tables already.
You mention benches on the Lower Terrace though, can these be used instead?
I suppose with their being on 25 of us we may want to be more centralised though, a larger group is OK spread across the front (I'm presuming the benches are at intervals across the front of the terrace?)

I'm not sure which location to go for....

I agree, I love the Isola also, its a beautiful location. I think a lot of brides had to turn away from it because of the high minimum :sad2:. Anyway, yes -upper UK terrace has tables and chairs already set up so you wouldn't need to rent any. But the reason I didn't go with it is for the same reason you said - I didn't want another group in front of us. Also I wanted to be more up close to the lake. I'm planning to rent a some tables and chairs, but nothing crazy because we have the benches also. I want people to walk around and mingle at the DP. I don't think you are required to rent tables and chairs, its just an option if you want them. So, certainly if you're happy with just the benches then don't even bother with the tables.

Here are some pictures of the UK Lower Terrace:

Thanks for this,

The benches are pretty close together actually aren't they, so perhaps I could just rent 3 or 4 tables and chairs sets to put in a central location to encourage mingling.
Do you know if you are allowed to do this, or if you wanted to rent do you have to do so for the whole number of guests? (If that makes sense!)

Do you know what the rental costs are?

BaBeeCee14
01-10-2008, 12:04 PM
Yea the benches do seem pretty close together. There seem to be about 5 or 6 of them. I'm not 100% sure if you have to rent a chair for everyone in your group, but I don't think you do. I believe I read somewhere that there was a $75 set up fee for the tables and chairs, but I don't know what the actual cost is to rent each tables/chair. Hopefully someone can answer those questions for us. :goodvibes

Kids Welcome bags

Earlier I mentioned that I wanted to give each child their own little welcome bag with some goodies in it. I finally got to make the bags the other day.

Here are a few pictures of them:

Here is another picture of the things I bought to go in them. I think I'm going to try to find some more things though.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03164.jpg

I found some cute glittery tissue paper at the dollar store (20 sheets for $1 :woohoo:) so I'm gonna dress it up a little bit after I put all the goodies inside.

I know Meryll was interested in some of the specifics of the DP so I'm posting this in case any other brides were wondering the same thing.

I emailed my planner to ask her how much it would cost to rent some tables and chairs for the DP and she told me that there is a flat $75 set up fee. It doesn't go by how many chairs and tables you're renting, but you're more paying for someone to set them up. She also said they usually set up some standard cocktail tables for you anyway.

Meryll - My planner said you don't need to rent one chair per person, but you could if you wanted to. If you are only having 25 people, I think the benches and a few chairs would be good enough. HTH!

OMG Catherine, I don't know how I've missed your PJ, but somehow it happened. I have just read through everything and WOW! I love the proposal. BIG POINTS for DF suprising you like that! And he even thought to wear his Incredibles shirt (WHat a man!:lovestruc )

Dresses:

I love the poof of dress #1...BTW Poofiness is one of the required characteristics of wedding dresses (just like the 5 C's of diamonds. :rotfl:
Dress #3 is very elegant as well...there's something about the lace that makes it so feminine and elegant.

Your e-ring is gorgeous and I really like wedding band #2. I like the different shapes and I think that they will complement your e-ring nicely.

You've been incredibly busy planning. I can't wait to hear more.

I'm so glad you're enjoying my PJ, thanks for reading along!

I love dress #1 too. I think its the perfect amount of poof. The only thing I'm concerned about is the chapel train - its so long! I'm 5"0 tall and I'm afraid its just too much for me, but I really looove the dress . I'm going to post pictures of me in it so let me know what you think.

Thanks for your opinion on the wedding band. Its makes me feel better because at first I wasn't sure about all the different shapes, but seems like almost everyone here likes that one too. Also all my BMs agreed on #2 as well.

More to come :goodvibes

This weekend I went dress shopping with my Mom and BMs. I tried on about 4 dresses and now I'm down to 2 that I really love. I originally wanted to try on the Suzanne Vidal but the bridal shop only had the Suzanne. The 2 dresses are almost exactly the same except the beading/lacing is a little different. I still want to go and try on the Suzanne Vidal at some point though.
Here I am in the Suzanne:
They only had it in the gold color, but I would probably get it in the diamond white. This dress was kind of big on me, but its suppose to be a lot more fitted.

This dress is called Grace and I thought it was really pretty and decided to try it on also. I really love this dress too. It’s so different from the Suzanne – it’s not as poofy and the train is much smaller. My Mom was telling me that she thought this dress would be better for me because the train wasn’t so long and it would be easier for me to walk around in.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03211.jpg

I really love both of these dresses and they are so different from each other. I just don't know right now. I still have to go and try the Suzanne Vidal on and I will post pictures of that too. But as for these 2...which one do you think looks nicer?

After I tried on my dresses, we all went over to David's Bridal to look at some BM dresses. This is the bridesmaid dress we might be going with. I love the color of this dress and will most likely be the color we will choose.

Catherine -- Both of those dresses are gorgeous on you. Not that I've experienced this personally, but I have read and heard of so many brides regretting not just the length of a train, but the weight of it; so many ended up with backaches. I think you are so gorgeous that nearly any dress will look great on you, but not everyone can wear dress #2 and I think it is stunning on you. If you are having second thoughts about the length of the train because of your height, maybe you could find a similar one to the first dress without so long a train?

I love the dress Catherine! It's perfect!

On a side note: I didnt have any pain from my dress/crinnie. :woohoo: Although I do have a bit more padding around the middle than Caryn does :rolleyes1 My crinnie did keep falling down though! The hoop skirt was a life saver because it kept all the scratchy crinnie off me. I dont think you'll have a problem with yours. It doesnt look like you have a lot of boning, or will need a big crinnie.

So I was realizing the other day how I'm going to have so much stuff to bring down. Between welcome bags, favors, my dress, 2 weeks worth of clothes...the list just goes on and on.

I read on another thread about this site called Owners Locker. Has anyone ever used them before? Here is the site if you've never heard of it: http://www.ownerslocker.com/

I was thinking about getting one for when we head down to our PS in April. I was going to bring some of the wedding stuff down and just keep them in there until we come back down for the wedding in October. I think it will be easier doing it this way because that will just be less stuff I'll have to pack later. The price ends up being around $200 - between the storage and membership fee. But I'm just not 100% sure if I should get one.

What do you guys think? :confused3

These babies are going to be interesting to pack...

personally i wouldn't trust leaving any of my stuff down there, you never know what could happen...i would just ship it to my hotel or my planner. i shipped 2 HUGE boxes to my sister and i should have shipped more. you could probably even do it for cheaper than $200.

edit: those hats are great! the cm discount is a great idea...we should all pay some poor broke cp a commission to buy our favors for us at a discount...

Owners locker is really for timeshare people who don't want to lug stuff back and forth on trips(laundry detergent, duvets, pillows, full size bottles of shampoo, flip flops, beach towels, and crock pots :confused3 ). It was beta tested last year on a bunch of DVC people. Most love it, but I can't see the benefit for the way we use our DVC points. I ship a box of stuff to DVC pre-trip(cereal, sunscreen, snacks, coffee etc) via USPS priority mail and the box is always waiting for me at the front desk when I check in.

I know exactly what you mean Catherine... my little Hummer was completely PACKED with stuff. We had to make 2 trips... one in December when we brought all our centerpieces, and then when we actually went up for our wedding.

I had considered Owners locker too. But I was afraid to leave stuff there in the event I need it here to match something or if something happens (since stuff would be there for like 6 months) I'll lose alot of my wedding stuff and then not know until the wedding time!

But I did consider it!

I know what you mean about being afraid to leave things there. I thought about that too, which is why I wasn't planning on leaving anything valuable. I was just going to leave toiletries that I would be using for the April and October trips that I can also bring with me when we go on our Disney cruise.
The problem with shipping boxes - I'm so afraid they will get lost in the mail :scared1:. Which is also why I'm afraid to ship my dress to Carolyn Allens. I'm just paranoid like that. At least with the Owners Locker - I'll know that I brought it there.

I love the CM discount idea! It would benefit everyone! :thumbsup2

How soon in advance do you ship your boxes? If I'm staying at AKL, can I still ship boxes there?

I know exactly what you mean Catherine... my little Hummer was completely PACKED with stuff. We had to make 2 trips... one in December when we brought all our centerpieces, and then when we actually went up for our wedding.

We actually thought about driving down there - but I really can't stand the 18 hour drive :headache:. Flying is so much faster. Whe you brought your stuff down to in December, where was it stored? Did they make you pay some sort of storaging fee?

I had considered Owners locker too. But I was afraid to leave stuff there in the event I need it here to match something or if something happens (since stuff would be there for like 6 months) I'll lose alot of my wedding stuff and then not know until the wedding time!

I was just thinking to use it for things I knew I would need and didn't want to carry back and forth. Mostly toiletries and clothes. The only wedding related thing I was going to leave in there were the kids welcome bags, which are all done and really didn't feel like having them sit in my house anymore. I'm still thinking about it - but I might just ship it to the hotel directly like Caryn recommended.

Up until this point we hadn't really had any issues about who was invited and who wasn't. Yesterday DF got an email from one his aunts saying that she wanted to confirm that we were going to accomodate her and her family at our wedding. It was really weird because we are not close with her at all. :confused3 Out of the 7 years that I have been with DF, I have maybe seen her a handful of times. I don't even think she knows what my name is.

DF was annoyed that she emailed him about that because it put him in a really awkward and uncomfortable position, which I totally don't blame him for. Anyway, he ended up emailing her back saying that we are having a really small wedding down in Florida but we will be having another reception when we come home.

I just don't like how people assume that you are automatically invited to someones wedding. I mean especially when you haven't received any information in the mail regarding the wedding. No save the date, newsletter -nothing. Anyway, sorry about the mini rant :cool2:

I didn't receive a save the date for my cousin's wedding (didn't even know he was engaged), but I received an invite to the shower. I have since received the invite to the wedding too, without saying whether or not I can bring my BF (of 6 years). The story goes that the "ran out" of the save the dates. Well, heck, send me an email, I don't need anything fancy!

Good luck with the aunt. I had one aunt asking me when I am getting married so she can reserve a room. Little does she know it I have an escape wedding, she's not invited.

We've had the same problem! People sometimes assume that because the wedding is at Disney, it's going to be a free-for-all.... So far, I've just given a vague answer about how expensive travel/staying at Disney is, and we'd be happy if they want to celebrate with us closer to home. Maybe you can invite your aunt to a shower?

Well then there is the other side of that problem. My father and siblings barely knew their mom's family(grandfather was a meanie). My parents would get invitations to weddings that they weren't sure who the couple was. My mom would call up one of her SIL's and have to ask. One was my dad's 1st cousin's great grand daughter's wedding!

As for shipping boxes, I use USPS priority mail(usually takes 2 days to get to Orlando from Ohio). I would take the box in about a week-5 days before hand.

I use the full name of the resort, street address, have my name, reservation number and check in day on the label. Also put hold at front desk. When I check in I ask for my box and the CM goes in the back room and comes out with it.

It's very important because I have my stash of Starbuck's in there and if you haven't figured out it's tough to get a good cup of coffee at WDW.

Weird what happened with the save the dates. It sounds like a lame excuse though. Are you planning on attending the wedding?

So far, I've just given a vague answer about how expensive travel/staying at Disney is, and we'd be happy if they want to celebrate with us closer to home. I know what you mean. Its like you never talk to us and yet suddenly you're emailing us not asking us if you can come, but telling us you're coming. DF's other family members think she has some ulterior motive, but whatever - she's not invited. DF did tell her that we are having an at home reception when we get back which she is invited to.

Celeste just called me a little while ago to tell me that she will be away on maternity leave at the time of my wedding. She said that it would be better to switch to a new planner now because we are still kind of far out and haven't gotten into all the specific details of the wedding yet. So instead of switching halfway through - getting a new one now would make more sense.
And I totally agree with her on that. The only thing is I'm freaking out a little now. I'm not a person who deals with change very well  Celeste said my new planner would be Meri. I haven't heard too much about her, but has anyone had her? I'm kind of sad because I really liked Celeste and was looking forward to meeting her.

I have Meri, so far so good. She seems really nice but th only contact I have had is through emails as yet. Having my planning session next week so I can let you know more now. I wouldn't worry about changing it will work out alright in the end. :thumbsup2

I would love to hear how your PS goes! That would be a lot help! Thank you!

After I tried on my dresses, we all went over to David's Bridal to look at some BM dresses. This is the bridesmaid dress we might be going with. I love the color of this dress and will most likely be the color we will choose.
http://www.thebrideslist.com/friedman%20dress.JPG

Lurking :) . Great PJ! I love everything you've done so far. Did you end up going with this dress for the BM? Wery pretty and I love the color. I had the same dress in cinnamon for my sister's fall wedding and I loved it.

Hi! Thanks for coming out of lurking! :thumbsup2 We still haven't decided 100% if we are going to go with that dress yet. I do like it though. The girls still want to shop around some more to see if they see anything else they like better.

At least they are changing your planner before you get too involved with her!:)

Yea, I thought the same thing. It would have been way too complicated to switch planners after the PS.

Hey Kristen! Aww you're so sweet to check up on my PJ. I know you've been super busy. Yea, I really don't have much to do right now since I'm still over 7 months out. I did order my dress this past weekend though. The bridal shop told me that it should be in by June . I ordered my pocketfolds from Cards and Pockets and some stardream envelopes. I started assembling my invites - I will post some pictures when I get home. But other than that - its been pretty slow. Have your pictures come in from Randy yet? Its been almost 5 weeks now right? I can't wait to see them!

Nope, no pics from Randy yet. Caryn and Rachel who got married before me havent gotten theirs either, so I'm not expecting them anytime soon.

I just got read through your entire PJ. You're way ahead of me. DF and I are getting married 3 days before you - with pretty much the same schedule - however, we're using the French Island instead of the UK!

I just wanted to let you know that if you utilize the Men's Warehouse (MW Tux) they offer the delivery too and depending on how many tuxes, you get a free rental. Not many of the stores know this if you contact them directly, but I have the main number for the Disney Weddings if you're interested.

Congrats! Maybe we'll run into each other, although we'll be leaving for our DCL honeymoon on your wedding day.

Hey Kendra! Everything is fine. I haven't really been updating just because there hasn't really been much for me to do. I'm super excited about my PS coming up! :woohoo: We will also be going to the P&PP - I can't wait!! I will definitely post a PS TR when I get back!

Hi Ladies!!

It's been so long since I've updated! There really hasn't been too much to do, but I have been working on some projects and I wanted to have them finished before I posted.

So we will be leaving for Disney on Thursday night and our PS is scheduled for 9:00am on Friday. I'm so excited! We are also going to go to the Pirate & Princess Party that night. Then Saturday will be spent at the parks and Sunday we come home :sad1: I will definitely write a TR when I get back.

We finally decided on a BM dress and ordered it this weekend.
http://www.bestbridalprices.com/mori-lee/478/img0_aubergine.jpg
The dress is a much lighter purple in person. I'm so happy to finally get the dresses out of the way.

On to the projects...

I loved Carrie's guestbook idea and I knew I wanted something similar. The other day, I got a coupon from shutterfly for a free photobook. :woohoo: It expires at the end of this month so I quickly put one together and ordered it. I think it came out really cute - I like it a lot. I love the "Year of a Million" quotes that Disney uses and I tried to incorporate those with the pictures. The pictures are kind of small, so I'll just type the quote next to the pictures.

I also couldn't resist getting Jesse these Mickey cufflinks.

I also got my free tote for signing up on Disney Honeymoon Registry! However when I got my bag, it looked like this:
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03279.jpg :rotfl:

I gave them a call and asked them if I can send this one back and get a new one. The nice CM apologized and said I didn't have to send it back and that she would send a new one right away.

I really love the quotes you have put in for your photobook, I may have to steal a couple of those that you've stolen from Disney, it's a great idea :thumbsup2
I did start to make a book up actually but forgot about it - in fact I can't even remember which company I was using, I'm sure I'll have a link or a desktop icon somewhere that'll make it clear again :rotfl: - I may have a go at doing a bit more tonight - it wasn't far off as I recall, you have inspired me now to finish this project!!

Hmm, I may have to just put the month and year on our cover as we won't have a date finalised for another 6 months yet!!

Thanks Linda! You should definitely include your engagement photos in your book. I originally wanted put my book together after the PS trip because I wanted to take some more pictures and add those to the book. So we're back from our PS trip. We had a great time -- I'm sad to be back. Anyway, on with the TR...

April 3, 2008 - Day 1

I left work at 2:00 on Thursday to make sure I had enough time to get home and finish getting all my last minutes things together. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 6:00pm. The flight down was pretty uneventful. Although we did have the pleasure of toddler screaming bloody murder the entire first hour on the plane :headache:.

We got on the Magical Express and POP was the first stop . By the time we checked in, it was about 11:00 and we were starving. Before even going to the room to drop off our bags, we headed over to the food court and get some food. They were getting ready to close so it was a good thing we went there first.

Jesse got himself a burger and a cheesesteak wrap for me.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03314.jpg

Once we were done, we headed over to our room. I set the alarm for 7:00am and we passed out for the night.

April 4, 2008 - Day 2

The alarm went off at 7:00, we got ready and were headed out the door. We quickly grabbed some breakfast at the food court. Jesse got the breakfast platter and I got a ham and cheddar omelet.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03316.jpg
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03315.jpg
When we got to the bus stop, it looked like we had just missed the MK bus – so we hopped on the Epcot bus and took the monorail to the GF. We got to Franck’s around 8:45 for our 9:00 appointment.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03317.jpg
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03318.jpg
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03322.jpg

When we got in, a CM greeted us and offered us some water while we waited for Meri to arrive. There was a Mad Hatter cake by the window where we were sitting. I think they call it the Queen of Hearts cake actually.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03319.jpg

Meri came in and greeted us and took us into one of the PS rooms. We got started on talking about all the specifics for the wedding (which I won’t bore you guys with). Then it was cake tasting time! :woohoo:
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03321.jpg

Jesse and I were mix and matching all the different filling flavors and the cakes. Everything was so good and we love cake, so we had a hard time chosing just 3 flavors. We finally came to a decision:
top layer: yellow cake with tropical mousse
middle layer: almond cake with amaretto mousse
bottom layer: chocolate cake with bavarian cream and fresh strawberries

We finished around 10:30 with Meri and Rose was going to come in at 11:30 to talk about the floral. We had about an hour to kill so Jesse and I decided to walk over to the WP and take a look. I’ve never seen the WP in person before so I was really excited to go check it out. Pictures do not do this place justice! It is so beautiful inside – I was so happy I chose this location for my ceremony.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03323.jpg

We got back to Franck’s and waited for Rose to finish up with another couple. I was happy to finally meet Rose because I’ve heard so many great things about her. She was really sweet and upbeat. She definitely knows what she’s doing. I can’t wait to see my bouquet on my wedding day.

Once we were done with Rose, we headed out of Franck’s and went with Meri to Epcot. We had some time before our tasting at 2:30 – so we went to take a look at the LSS. Like the WP, I have never seen this location in person and chose it based on the pictures I’ve seen. LSS is another gorgeous location. Meri gave us a tour and showed us where the cake would go, where the cocktail hour would be held, etc. It was really helpful because now I’m able to envision what the reception would look like and where everything would be. After we left the LSS, we still had about 20 minutes before the tasting session so we drove over to Lower UK. I love this location. It feels secluded from the rest of the park and has a great view of Illuminations.

Up next...we finally head to our tasting session :woohoo:

We drove backstage and pulled up at the Epcot kitchen. Once we got in, we sat down at a big round table and picked out our napkin fold. We decided to go with the pocket fold so that our menu cards can be placed in them. Then we met our chef, Hazel and our server, Jennifer.

First up was our cocktail hour food:

mushroom pastries and mini beef empanadas with an olive tapenade
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03330.jpg

Jesse loved the mushroom pastries. He must’ve eaten like 5 or 6 of them. I had to tell him to stop eating because we had so much more food to try. I’m not a huge fan of mushrooms so I liked the empanadas more. The olive tapenade was really good.

crab cakes with dill cream sauce
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03329.jpg

Jesse can’t eat seafood so I was the only one who tried this. They so were yummy. I wanted to eat all of them, but only had 2 :rolleyes1

Next up we had 2 different soups:

red pepper and tomato soup
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03332.jpg

This is was delicious. It doesn’t sound like much but it has so much flavor and a little bit spicy at the end. So good!

cheddar cheese soup
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03334.jpg

If you love cheese – this is the soup for you. It was really rich and creamy. It had little bacon bits on the bottom. We decided not to have this soup on the menu because we were afraid it would be too heavy. We didn’t want our guests to be full when there is so much more food coming.

Caesar salad
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03335.jpg

Fresh and delicious!

Intermezzo:

Raspberry sorbet on Cinderella ice slipper
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03336.jpg
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03337.jpg

The minute I saw this in front of me – I knew I had to have it :lovestruc. It was sooo pretty. The sorbet was really refreshing.

Entrée:

Parmesan crusted chicken with herb cream sauce, beef filet with demi glaze, asiago mashed potatoes, green beans and carrots
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03340.jpg

Mahi mahi with mango chutney, peppercorn crusted beef filet, asiago mashed potatoes, and asparagus
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03342.jpg

Wow – everything was so good, it was almost impossible to choose! There was so much food on our table at that point. Not only would Jesse and I each get our own “tasting plates” with smaller portions, but the chef would also bring out the “show plate” with the actual portion that would be served and how it would be plated (the entrée pictures I posted are the show plates).

Dessert:

Cinderella’s chocolate slipper
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03345.jpg

I was so full at this point, I just nibbled a little bit here and there. The mousse was very good. 2 people can share this dessert. I think this is way too much chocolate for one person to eat. We decided that with the wedding cake and dessert party, we won’t need another dessert. But it was so pretty to look at.

So the final menu is:

Cocktail hour:
-mushroom pastries
-crab cakes
-beef empanadas

Appetizer:
-roasted red pepper & tomato soup with pretzel bread
-Caesar salad

Intermezzo:
-raspberry sorbet in Cinderella’s ice slipper

Entrée:
-parmesan crusted chicken & peppercorn crusted beef with asiago mashed potatoes, green beans and carrots

Dessert:
-wedding cake

After the tasting session, it was around 4:00 and we went back to the WP because I wanted to hear what the organ sounded like in person. I didn’t like the way the music sounded on the sample cd they sent me. There was a 5:00 wedding scheduled so the organist was already there. He played a few songs and they sounded really nice. I’m glad I asked to hear it because it put my mind at ease about the music. It sounds so much better than the cd. We left the WP and said goodbye to Meri. Now – we wait for the beo to come :surfweb:

Up next: Jesse and I go to the pirate: & princess: Party

It was about 4:00 when we left Franck’s. We went back to POP to change and went back out to MK for the P&PP. We’ve never been to the P&PP before so I was pretty excited about it.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03346.jpg

Once we got in, we headed towards Adventureland because I wanted to get in line for the Captain Jack Sparrow meet and greet. I’ve heard the line can get really long so I wanted to get there early. It looked like it was going to start pouring so we took a sat down in the El Pirata y el Perico seating area to wait for the rain pass. It started POURING….

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03349.jpg

Of course I forgot to bring the ponchos, so we just waited until the rain let up. Once it was finally down to a light drizzle we started walking towards the meet & greet line. There was no line at all – we walked right inside.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03353.jpg

When we were done with the meet & greet, we started walking towards HM. The rain had stopped and I noticed how empty the park was. There was practically no one around! It was weird –

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03361.jpg

We found a treasure spot and decided to go in and see what they were giving out. We got some candy necklaces, beads, and a paper tiara/pirate hat. They reminded me of the paper crowns that they use to have at Burger King. After HM, we went on IASW. Again, surprised at how empty Fantasyland was…

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03368.jpg

We then walked over to Toontown to see if there were any characters out.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03372.jpg

We got to meet Daisy and Minnie in their princess princess: gear.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03376.jpg

I love taking pictures with characters! DF is really good about giving me my character time and is usually the one who takes the pictures. He’s not really a picture person. So after he took the picture of Minnie and me, we were getting ready to move on when Minnie came over, grabbed DF’s hand and pulled him over for a picture. It was really cute.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03377.jpg

When went on a few more rides (all walk on) and then we over towards main street to get a spot for the parade. I did take some pictures, but they all came out really dark – after awhile I just gave up because none of the pictures were coming out good.

After the parade, we had some time before the fireworks, so we went to Cosmic Rays to get some dinner. I was still really full from all that food at the tasting, so I just got a kids chicken nuggets. DF got a burger. We went back out towards main street to get a spot for the fireworks. I really like the fireworks, but DF said he liked Wishes better. I think we left the party around 11:00 or 11:30. We were exhausted! We hopped on our bus and headed back to POP.

Up Next: Our last full day at Disney :sad1:

April 5, 2008 - Day 3

Today was our last full day and we were going to spend it at the parks. But first we were going to have breakfast at Kona! After reading all the great reviews about the Tonga toast – I knew I had to try it. We arrived right on time for our 10:00am ADR and were seated almost right away. I ordered the Tonga toast and Jesse ordered the Big Kahuna.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03404.jpg
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03403.jpg

The Tonga toast was so good and really filling too. I think I still had about a quarter of it left. I had some of Jesse’s pineapple pancakes and those were really good too. After Kona, we went to AK and just took our time walking around. We didn’t really go on any rides, except Dinosaur. We spent most of our time in the stores and just looking around. After AK we went back to POP to rest for a little bit because it was getting kind of hot and it looked like it was going to rain again.

On the way back to the room, Jesse stopped at the food court to pick up a tie-dyed cheesecake.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03405.jpg

We took a little nap back at the room and got ready to leave for Epcot. When we got off the bus at Epcot, it started pouring. Luckily I brought the ponchos this time :woohoo:. So, we put our ponchos on and walked through the rain. As we were going in to Epcot, a lot of people were leaving. We went on Spaceship Earth since it was the closest ride to the entrance. This was one of my favorite rides. I haven’t been on SSE since the refurbishment so I was excited about. Some of the updates on the ride were great. All the animatronics look much more real now. I was kind of disappointed with the second half of the ride though. Its just not the same anymore. I won’t go into detail about it – just in case there are some people that haven’t been on it yet.

When we came out of SSE, it was still raining – we headed over to the Land pavilion. We went on Living with the Land (love that ride) and then went over to Sunshine Seasons to get some food. Soarin had an hour wait and no more fast passes, so we skipped that ride. I got the kids chicken leg and mashed potatoes, Jesse got a turkey sandwich and a kids noodles and sweet & sour chicken.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03407.jpg

I love Sunshine Seasons. There is a lot of variety and the food is always pretty good. When we left the Land, it had finally stopped raining. We decided to walk around WS for a little bit. We went on the Grand Fiesta Tour in Mexico and Maelstrom in Norway. We then shopped for a little bit at Mouse Gears and finally went over to get a spot for Illuminations. Illuminations was at 9:00 that night and Wishes was at 10. After Illuminations, I wanted to run over to MK to catch Wishes. While on the monorail, it started raining again. We just didn’t feel like walking through the rain again, so we headed back to POP. Back at the room, we started packing to go back home the next day. :sad1:

April 6, 2008 - Day 4

We checked out at 11:30 and checked in our suitcases. We had some breakfast at the POP food court and hopped on the bus to Downtown Disney. Of course it started raining again, so we just hurried along into each store. As we were walking towards the West side, we saw Cooks of Dublin and decided to stop for lunch. I got the fish and chips, Jesse got the sausage and chicken with chips.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa86/kitcat1214/DSC03415.jpg

The fish was really good, sausage was ok, but I didn’t try the chicken. After lunch, we went back to POP to get on the Magical Express and went home.
I can’t wait to go back in October!

Mmm, it tasted really good too. You're going to love going to you PS!

Thanks Cam. The cheesecake was actually pretty good. It tasted like a regular cheesecake, no food coloring flavor at all. :thumbsup2

The fish and chips were really good. I wanted to try the fish and chips in UK also but didn't make it to that side of WS because of all the rain :guilty:

The parmesan crusted chicken was delicious! That is going to be one of our entrees. We are doing a duo plate. The mahi mahi was pretty good too. It went really well with the mango chutney. We decided not to go with the fish because DF and a few people in our family don't like fish. You should still try it though.

Hey Catherine - everything looks great! :thumbsup2 We got back from our PS last night.:sad1:

We chose the almond cake & amaretto mousse for our bottom layer - that one is really good.

We also went to Kona's for breakfast one day - what an awesome place. My DF had the french toast and I had the eggs benedict...yummy food!

I agree with you on the SSE - I don't think the second half is as good as it used to be. I don't think the music is as good either.

I'm right there with you waiting for October!!

Thanks for reading Jennifer! The tropical mousse is really good. It has a mango flavor. DF and I love mangos, so it was pefect for our top layer. There were no chunks of fruit in it although you can add fresh strawberries or raspberries to some of the other fillings they have. For example, we are adding fresh strawberries to the bavarian cream on the bottom layer of our cake.

Okay, Catherine, this is not going to be any help at all! ;) I think the first one is really pretty for a brunette. The openness of it would be highlighted seeing your dark hair through it from a distance. I like the shape of the outline of the second one because it almost mimicks the edging on the draping of the diagonal on the skirt of your gown. I guess what I am really trying to say is that you can't go wrong with either one. They are gorgeous and either would look beautiful on you and with your gown! :cutie:
