We recently returned some clothes that were ordered on-line. They returned a Disney Card with credit. Since we can't use this on the ship, is there any way to exchange for Disney $$$? The local Disney store say no. Any suggestions?

I just did this yesterday. My daughter received a gift card from the Disney Store as a birthday gift. I went to the DS and bought Disney Dollars. You may not be able to buy Disney Dollars on-line, but you definitely can in the store.
I did this at the DS in Boston (you know not far from where the Super Bowl Champs play:smooth: !!)

If you have a Gift Card you can use that to purchase Disney Dollars. Gift Cards are kind of like credit cards if you want to think of it that way.
Merchandise Credit Cards can be redeemed for merchandise, not Disney Dollars or Park Passes, etc.

Sounds like I have a merchandise card. No Disney $$ for me. Looks like I will have to stock up on pins instead.
Thanks for your help.

No problem :) Pins are always great!
FYI, merchandise credit cards are blue and say merchandise credit. Gift cards have Mickey, Princess (Cindy), Buzz Lightyear, Pooh, or Monsters.

Actually, gift cards are NOT supposed to be used to purchase Disney Dollars. The CM made a mistake, and you got lucky.
Merchandise credits can not be used for Disney Dollars, in fact with the new system, it won't even allow the transaction to go through.
