Probability of Last minute specials?

Based on your prior experience, should I assume that any specials for 3/15-3/20 are already out and there will probably not be any further discounts? I seem to remember in Jan they came out with some last minute specials that were only good through the end of Jan. (so there was only a 2-3 week lead time) I've got 2 nights on site, but would add a third if I can get another $15 off per night. (currently $92+ tax at ASMu) We arrive at 11PM and I hate to pay the big bucks just to save us from moving. I'm pretty sure I can get a 3* at pricline for under $40.

Last year codes for certain state residents were still appearing.We switched ressies 3 times from AllStar to PO/FQ to PO/Riverside. I'll be hunting here from now until we drive to the airport in Nov.!

You might have a chance at an upsell or mgr's special. I would call and explain that you are already staying there two nights, but would like to extend your stay if there were any discounts.

Normally, the upsell/mgr's special is to upgrade to a deluxe, but if they have rooms available, you never know. Even if they say no, you might want to try again the night before you leave.

Thanks for all the info. I finalized last night. Cancelled my ASMu reservations and moved the money to my CSR reservations with Amex special. ($121 INCL TAx) I looked at the new special and the Amex code seems to be a better deal. I did our first night off site - priceline $35 (with tax and fee total $45) and ended up with the Rennaissance World Gate. There's a back way into WDW and it looks like this is less than 3 miles from CSR so we'll be all set for early check-in. We'll be gypsy travelers moving 3 times in four nights but what the heck. (I may have a different opinion when I get back LOL!)
