OMG!!! We got our planning package by email yesterday!!! :woohoo:  I can't believe we have an appointment for our tasting and our planning session! I was literally in tears at my office looking at the paperwork with our names on it and our locations. It seems so real and yet like a fairy tale dream.
Work is so insane right now and we have weather issues today added a layer of complication to already crisis-level issues at work. UGH!! Haven't even had time to look at all the papers, but I'm excited about doing that this weekend when my friends are here for dress shopping. :grouphug:

Yea Cam,
I know how excited you must be. Each step makes it all more real. I'm right up there with you today with this weather... yuck. Either give us a big storm or just blow over. I hate this sleet and ice bit.
Have fun this weekend.

It's not looking good for this weekend. I am disappointed beyond measure, but would be more concerned for my friends' safety and peace of mind.
I guess I'll see how things (weather) develop over the next 10 hours or so. :sad1:

Cam: I've had so much fun going through your journal, looking at the beautiful dresses you tried on (Howard was right--you make them beautiful), seeing pictures of your rings (which I hadn't noticed before) and generally reliving all the highs, lows, decision points and ideas you've had along the way.
Congrats on getting the planning package yesterday! I am sending lots of PD and WARM nay HOT thoughts that the snow lets up so Judy and Kathy can get there this weekend!!

I'm amazed by you.
Every Time Our Eyes Meet,
There Is A Feelin Inside Me
It's Almost More Than I Can Take
Baby When You Touch Me
I Can Feel How Much You Love Me
And It Just Blows Me Away
I've Never Been This Close To Anyone
Or Anything
I Can Hear your Thoughts, I Can See Your Dreams
(Chorus):
I Dunno How You Do What You Do
I'm So In Love With You
It Just Keeps Getting Better
I Wanna Spend The Rest Of My life
With You By My Side
For Ever and Ever
Every Little Thing That You Do
Baby I'm Amazed By You
The Smell Of Your Skin
The Taste of your kiss
The Way You Whisper In The Dark
You're Hair All Around Me
Baby You Surround Me
You Touch Every Place In My Heart
Oh..It Feels Like The First Time, Every Time
I Wanna Spend The Whole Night..In You're Hands
(Chorus):
I Dunno How You Do What You Do
I'm So In Love With You
It Just Keeps Getting Better
I Wanna Spend The Rest Of My life
With You By My Side
For Ever and Ever
Every Little Thing That You Do
Baby I'm Amazed By You
Every Little Thing That You Do
I'm So In Love With You
And It Just Keeps Getting Better
I Wanna Spend The Rest Of My Life
With You By My Side
For Ever And Ever

Every Little Thing That You Do
Baby I'm Amazed By You

Work has been so busy and stressful that I haven't had much DIS time! :sad1:
First, I wanted to say what a GREAT time I had trying on dresses with Kathy and Judy. They were so supportive and non-judgmental and honest and I didn't feel self-conscious at all about being undressed in front of them. That is a HUGE deal for me. Our bridal consultant at the Demetrios Salon at Macy's Cherry Hill was so sweet and helpful and very, very patient. We ended up being there more than 3 hours!!! I don't know how many dresses I considered and how many I tried on but Kathy and Judy think close to 20! Kathy is involved in the theatre so she spent a lot of time under my skirts, straightening and tugging! LOL! Judy helped me maintain modesty, being in charge of the panel you can insert in the back of a dress to cover your skin so you can go out to the pedestal/mirrors. It was SUCH a positive experience that I absolutely intend to buy my gown there.
When all was said and done, we had 4 gowns that we all really liked on me. I have pix of me in them and will email the link if anyone wants to see. Just PM me your email address. :)
After shopping, we had drinks and a great dinner at Bahama Breeze. Then home to Delaware where we worked on crafts with Andrew until almost 1 (well, we wore Judy out a tiny bit earlier than that, which is totally understandable considering she gets up in the wee hours of the morning to take care of her horses and work out -- she is MUCH more diligent than I! ). Thanks to Kathy's and Judy's creative ideas (none from me!) we figured out how to attach and tie various things and we got all of the personalized tags for the wine stoppers decorated and attached and we attached wishing star tags to most of the pens until we ran out of ribbon. Everything looks wonderful!
Sunday, we accomplished so much, too! A trip to World Market yielded a tall rectangular "flat" glass vase and irridescent flattened glass stones to put in the bottom of it. At Michael's we found wide, wired pink organza ribbon for the vase. My idea is to put the irridescent beads in the bottom and tie a huge pink bow on the wide front of the vase and stand the programs in it for the ceremony. I didn't want to use a basket and thought this might be pretty in a simple way and then functional later (I love the vase so it will be nice to use it at home and remember that it was from the VR ceremony). At Michael's we also found additional gold and pink organza ribbon for the various crafts, save the dates & invitations. :yay: Oh, and I am now the proud owner of 2 mini glue guns AND glue sticks!
Here are the two items that were Saturday night's project:
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b8dc06b3127cceb5f82abc8ebf00000036100Ibt3DRs2cMT
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b8dc06b3127cceb5f82ac90ffa00000036100Ibt3DRs2cMT
The pens are clear, though the star on this one picks up the color of the cherry coffee table it is sitting on.
This is similar to the vase we found:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/410IwyGgBVL._AA280_.jpg
I can't find a picture of the exact flattened glass beads/stones for in the bottom, but they are like this but irridescent -- I'd love to find some in pink (or perhaps, gold) to mix in and also to "raise" the floor up a bit for the programs to sit on (Michael's didn't have them but I am going to check JoAnn's or ACMoore):

UGH! Work calls. More later!

Awww, I hadn't seen Howard's post -- I think we were writing at the same time. What a sweetie! :lovestruc :cloud9:
Caryn -- I am so glad you like the idea! I'd love to "assemble" it now to see what it would look like, but I'd hate to tie the bow and then have it get smashed in packing. Maybe once I get the pink stones I won't be able to resist. I am just not feeling the traditional "basket" thing and then couldn't decide whether to do white or what shade of tan/brown. I LOVE glass, so this seemed like a good fit. And since neither Kathy nor Judy tried to "talk me down" from the idea, I think it might be a good one! :lmao:

02-27-2008, 02:41 PM
By the way, the pictured rectangular vase is $130!!!! The one we found was $19.99, less 20%, bringing it down to $15.99. :)

02-28-2008, 10:01 AM
YAY!!!!! :yay:  I am so excited! I got a call yesterday from my consultant at Demetrios where we were Saturday. They have located my "dream gown" (posted here on page 12) (I couldn't find a single salon within 3 hours that has it) and they are having it sent to them for my March 8 appointment. Once I have tried that on, I will be able to make a decision on whether that is "the one" or whether I will keep looking. BTW, the non-organza gown I posted on page 12 was not at all appealing to me in person. the styling on the skirt looked terrible on me.
Oh, and NO ONE has been of any help in helping me decide between the four I narrowed it down to last weekend. It just goes to show why designers have a gazillion styles! :lmao: The feedback I got was everything from "I LOVE that one on you" to "That one just isn't flattering at all" and I got positive and negative feedback on every single one! And the ONE that I thought was the frontrunner? Someone told me last night I'm too short to wear it. Now, I appreciate all the advice and feedback and I LOVE hearing what everyone thinks, but it seems like I may have to head back to the drawing board. ;) Frankly, the process has been so much more fun than I expected that I don't mind at all. So, I'll carve out some time to look for more styles to consider before my March 8 appointment, now that I have some ideas of what my fashion advisors think might look nice. Thank you so much to everyone who helped! :grouphug:

Love reading your report and I will send you a PM for photos of the dresses. I understand that you want opinions but ultimately it is your decision in the end and pick the one that makes you the happiest and don't look back.

Thanks, Linda! It is so hard for me to be objective and I really do appreciate everyone's feedback. It is easy to get wrapped up in the sentimentality of a dress but even looking at the pix now, my opinion changes day to day. One more reason I was so relieved that Kathy and Judy were there and so candid with their opinions. I would NEVER have considered 2 of the styles that I ultimately fell in love with and yet they were the ones who said "Here. Try this!" It's so much fun! Hey, maybe I'll just keep shopping and shopping until I MUST order a dress!

Actually, it was someone who very honestly expressed that they thought dress #2 was designed for someone a couple of inches taller. It really does look that way in the pix, too. LOL!

Hi, I am excited to see your gown selections. Please send them to me. I am using your DH's email so that it is easier for you to send it since it is in your address book. I know you are very busy at work everyday.
Your DH will not see these, honest.
I want to give you my honest opinion. Good luck with your choices! I can't wait to see what you like.

UGH!!! I am stuck at work almost all weekend and when I am not here, I will have to work on taxes. YICK!!!
My bridal consultant called from the salon yesterday to say the "dream gown" had arrived and I could go in anytime I want to try it on. If I do,they'd honor the 15% discount that I'd get at the trunk show next weekend even if I went early. Unfortunately, there is no way I can get there until next weekend. :sad1: And there is no way I want to go alone to try it on. I am really excited that Kathy and my friend Marie (MoH at our wedding and Godmother to our kids) and now Jenn (dear, sweet, DS19 and MoH) are going with me next weekend.
Work is crazy busy and I am beyond fried. I am so glad I am not time-crunched for VR planning because there is no way I could carve out the time to do anything right now.
A couple of other things are done as of this week:
Appointment for Tux selection/fitting: Howard scheduled tux fittings for him and Andrew on 6/27. YAY!!! I think we'll have to keep an eye on Andrew as he continues to grow like a weed and I'd hate for Carolyn Allen's not to bring the right size tux. So, I guess we'll measure his height and arm length at home in June and then again right after Christmas and let CA know if there is any significant growth. Since he'll be in Orlando on Friday before the VR, if there is a fit problem, CA should be able to take care of that on Friday (I've read they can't switch out pieces on the weekend).
Tasting and Planning Session: I'm not sure if I mentioned that our tasting session and our planning session are scheduled for June 26. :yay: We realized that Howard and I won't be in Orlando together for any weekday before January, so Joe (I feel like I have my very own personal miracle worker! ) was amazing in getting us in communication with someone who scheduled all of it for us. The person we have been in touch with is Alix who is an absolute sweetheart and so responsive. I'm not sure if she is a planner or not; it seems we wouldn't have a planner until we sign a contract in May, but maybe she is the person who handles all of the scheduling until a planner takes over. I'm not sure which, but she has been helpful. It is amazing to have that planning packet in hand. Disney thinks of EVERYTHING, don't they? Reading through the materials helped me to consider some issues I hadn't thought of and I've added lots to my planning files. :woohoo:
Room Block -- Joe was able to confirm that our room block is in place. We decided to increase our guarantee to 50 room nights and were able to block 20% more than that or 60 nights. We decided to block only a value and a deluxe hotel. Many of our guests will be staying DVC so we'll have the benefit of their room nights credited against our minimum, but we are now able to be sure that each of our guest families will have the option of POP or WILDERNESS LODGE with no likelihood of our block at one or the other being totally exploited before someone gets to make a reservation. Some of our friends who are DVC owners may even use our blocked rooms for Friday and Saturday night, because DVC point reservations are so high for Fridays and Saturdays.

I just started reading this thread today. I keep feeling wetness running down my cheeks. Tears of joy for you. I logged on to make myself feel better with a disney fix. Boy did I pick the right thread to read. Thank you!!!!
DH & I met as very young children. Then remet as teens & have been married for 25 years now. We were planning a small vr for our 25th, but it was not meant to be. I know they say God doesn't give you more than you can handle. So I will hold on to hope that maybe for our 30th we can plan something like what you are doing.
I love all that you are planning. I love the appreciation you have for you family and friends. I admire your faith & love of your relationships.
I will continue to enjoy your journey. My prayers will be with you that your life is always as blessed as it is today....May all your wishes come true.

Deesknee -- You are so sweet! Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to post such a thoughtful, kind note. Congratulations to you and your DH on 25 years. What a lovely story! I hope you get to have your dream event for your 30th anniversary -- how fun to have all this time ahead of you to mentally plan it! (yes, I can find a positive side to EVERYTHING! ;) )
I love sharing all of our planning here; my motives are completely selfish! I am wringing every moment of joy out of this process. And I am really enjoying the feedback and advice and opinions that everyone shares. We really want to share the joy of our love with the people who mean the most to us in our lives; we want this to be a beautiful and FUN party for our friends and family, to thank them for supporting us and for being so important to us. I am hoping that when all is said and done, that will be the message our guests carry away with them. Thank you, again, for posting. I hope you felt better after your "Disney fix"! :goodvibes pixiedust:

Well, a couple more things are taken care of. Thanks to another Disney bride, I found a bulk candy warehouse that sells Disney candy and lots of other candy. I ordered a 5 lb bag of Disney mints, a 5 lb bag of Disney sweet tarts and found some really cute star lollipops. :goodvibes
Nothing else new to report. The Demetrios trunk show is this weekend and I'll finally get to see the gown I fell in love with a few months ago in a magazine. Can't wait! :yay: I also found some other styles to look at in that line, too.
On the other hand, work has been insanely busy and next weekend is my partner/friend's wedding in Denver. Due to a commitment Howard has, we'll fly out of Philly Saturday night after 6 and leave Denver to come back early Monday afternoon. I am sure I am going to be  and really wiped out after all that air travel and a mid-mountain wedding (not sure if I'll have altitude sickness, since I've practically never been near a mountain), but I wouldn't miss my friend's wedding for the world.

So much FUN MAIL!!
The vellum sheets I ordered arrived. I ended up getting 100 sheets total for ~$26, including shipping, and they upgraded me to priority shipping at no extra charge. Thank you so much, Caryn, for the advice on where to order from!!
I ended up doing 50 sheets of cream, 25 of pink and 25 of metallic gold. The vellum is exquisite! I can't wait to work on a mock-up. I haven't figured out yet how to use the pink or gold sheets but they are sooo gorgeous!
We also received a package from DFTW yesterday!! Organ music CD and cake price list & CD!!! WOW!!!! The great thing is that the cake we love is one of the least expensive per person. Even if we have to pay extra to have them modify it to add columns to support the porcelain castle and extra to add colored sugared flowers, it will be well worth it!
Now, Howard and I just have to carve time out to look at everything and start going through the planning materials. Fortunately, our planning session is still more than 3 months away, so it gives us some time to do it in a relaxed fashion. Howard's graduation is 5/31 and Special Olympics Summer Games are the second weekend in June, so we'll start on the planning stuff early in order to get it back to DFTW by early June.
Oh, and maybe most exciting of all! Tomorrow I will finally see the "dream dress" in person -- I am worried that I will be disappointed. But, I've decided I LOVE 3 of the four finalists from 2 weeks ago, so even if I didn't try on another single dress, I'd have a hard time deciding among those three!

The candy is from candywarehouse.com and the vellum (Did I mention it is GORGEOUS??? ;) Is it possible to be in  with paper? :lmao: ) is from paperandmore.com
The invitation pocket folder and inserts will be from cardsandpockets.com
The one thing I am still searching for is the little charms to put on the invitations -- I found them in silver. They are two linked hearts and they are really pretty. I guess they'll work on a pink & cream invitation set-up, but if I were going to use them on anything else where I am using the gold vellum, they'd clash. Since the invitations won't have gold on them at all, I think the silver hearts will be fine. :)

Well, I found it! I loved it on the hanger, but when I put it on, it was "the one"! And Jenn saw several on me but this one made her cry. She literally got all choked up and said I looked so beautiful. Marie and Kathy were as blown away by the gown as I was. I put a deposit and will go back in May to be measured and to order it. I still can't believe it. :faint:
Oh, and the dream dress was just not the one for me. If I hadn't been blown away by this other one, I might have been disappointed.

I guess they'll work on a pink & cream invitation set-up, but if I were going to use them on anything else where I am using the gold vellum, they'd clash. Since the invitations won't have gold on them at all, I think the silver hearts will be fine.
Silver would look lovely with pink and cream.
So glad you found the dress. I tried on about 5 dresses and the one I wore was the first one I tried on and yes my mom cried when she saw it on me too. That's how I knew it was the one. :)

Thank you so much, everyone, for your encouragement during my quest! ;) It was the same kind of "AHA" moment I had when I first spotted Howard across a room and told Liza I'd be marrying him. :goodvibes <--- Read that as goosebumps! I saw this gown on a hanger and then on me and was so overwhelmed. As my friend Carrie said this morning, it combines so many of the features I'd loved from other gowns -- the right kind of neckline, waistline and skir; not volumes and volumes of crinolines, exquisite detailing, a light but gorgeous train, and needlework that looks like it was done by fairies. I looked at the pictures again this morning and got all trembly, thinking of wearing that for Howard. I can't wait to see his face. (Geez, the man treats me like a princess: when I'm in a flannel nightgown. Can you just imagine his face on the morning of January 12? :love2: ) I now feel like my whole being is yearning toward 5:30 a.m. on 1/12/09. I'm so glad that he wants to wait for that day and that moment to see the dress. Boy, that will take some logistical maneuvering to avoid discussing details and not showing anyone when he is anywhere around. But it will be lots of fun!
By the way, I would LOVE to send links to the on-line photo album with pix, so if I didn't email the link to you last time, please PM me your email address and I'll send you the new link. :grouphug: Thank you so much again, everyone, for your advice and encouragement!

Thank you, Liz! But I have to 'fess up -- I'm MARRIED!!!! Shhhhh. ... don't tell! :lmao:
Actually, this is for a vow renewal just past our 24th anniversary. Can you believe I'm doing all this for a VR? Funny, if I were divorced and remarrying, I don't think people in the real world would blink at this extravagance, but just because I'm not trading DH in for a different model, some people are thinking the whole full-blown wedding thing is a bit odd. And YET -- a friend just had a full-blown wedding for her fourth marriage. I think everyone has to live their dream for their special day! :goodvibes Oh, well, the people who love us and who will be sharing our day "get it." As for the others, I may just have to borrow Caryn's hateblockers!

So, I worked last night until after 10:30, arrived home around 11 pm (DH had cooked for me so I ate a late dinner -- yum but UGH!), I looked at the mail and guess what arrived??? :woohoo: My Disney Fairy Tale Honeymoons Tote Bag! It was the promotion being offered for signing up for the honeymoon registry. We figured we'll use the registry just for ourselves, to park some funds in that account for honeymoon activities and the tote bag was too cute to miss.
It is quite large and is brown with aqua trim and writing. I am really excited to have a bag large enough for all my planning stuff! I'll try to post a pic tonight if no one else posts one on the forum for everyone to see.

I think Andrew is growing up KNOWING how to treat the woman he loves with respect and unequivocal love, and I hope he will find someone who is as insanely crazy about him as I am about Howard. And Jenn is growing up seeing what it is like to be adored and respected and to have a true partner in life in every way; hopefully, from me she is learning a few things too. ;) Someday Andrew will be the most loving of husbands and Jenn will hopefully never settle for anyone who doesn't treat her as well and love her the way Howard loves me. Thank you so much, everyone for the very kind feedback! This has been such an exciting experience! :cutie: And I really don't know what I would do without my DISBoard friends to share it all with! :grouphug:
I meant to post yesterday that the box arrived from the bulk candy warehouse. WOW!!! 5 pounds of Disney mints and 5 pounds of Disney sweet tarts is a LOT of candy!! And the star lollipops we bought are really beautiful because they are clear colors, so they seem kind of sparkly. VERY nice!
I opened an owners' locker account earlier this week and when I head to WDW in May for my 15k/Minnie weekend, I will take a lot of this stuff in an extra suitcase to dump in the locker. It will be that much less to ship or pack in January. I am sure there will be PLENTY of other things to deal with for the January trip (including marathon gear) so anything I can take care of now will make it that much easier later.
I am looking at my ticker which now is at LESS than 10 months and I am just ASTONISHED at how quickly time is flying!

Ultimately, I am sure I will be wishing that we could drive, but maybe all this pre-planning and storage will make it seem less onerous later. After all, I will have to carry my dress, my laptop (so I can DIS before and after! ;) ) and race gear. Poor Howard! He is going to feel like a packhorse! :rotfl:

"I Knew I Loved You"
Maybe it's intuition
But some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes
I see my future in an instant
and there it goes
I think I've found my best friend
I know that it might sound more than
a little crazy but I believe
[chorus:]
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
There's just no rhyme or reason
only this sense of completion
and in your eyes
I see the missing pieces
I'm searching for
I think I found my way home
I know that it might sound more than
a little crazy but I believe
[repeat chorus]
A thousand angels dance around you
I am complete now that I found you
[repeat chorus to fade]

Thank you, everyone, for being so sweetly complimentary about the dress. I had a scary moment last week when Jenn told me she looked at the pix again and she thought the dress was much prettier in person. I was worried that what she was really saying was that she doesn't like it as much as she thought she did. But I am still in love with it and am really, really hoping that when it fits, I will really love it ON ME, and not just as a gorgeous dress.
Howard - -I love that song, but Josh Groban's "When You Say You Love Me" was running through my head this morning when I was thinking about you as I was getting ready to leave the house. Thinking about how much I HAVE to hear you say that as the last words we share before we part each morning. "Bye, Love you, have a good day." Seems such a small thing, but it means a lot, so Josh Groban may be serenading us for our first song. :lovestruc
Judy -- Yes, he was quite gorgeous in his tux this weekend! :faint: :lovestruc I think that his tux will be perfect with perhaps a pink cummberbund and bow tie, and Andrew doesn't seem to mind the prospect of pink accessories, either.
I am so swamped at work and now very sick with a headcold. A 54 hour there and back trip to Colorado with lots of time trekking cross-country at a ski resort and spending time in an open-air sled for a 20 minute ride up and down a mountain for a wedding reception will do that to you, I guess. Still, my partner/dear friend was such a beautiful bride and everything from her welcome bags to the fairwell brunch was perfect! :worship: I learned a lot this weekend about how to take care of guests at a destination wedding. Of course, I am hoping that customized blankets will be entirely unnecessary notwithstanding a January event date!

Ditto, Kathy!
Every couple of days I realize how little time I have to do everything that has to be done between now and January. I have tried to create a time line but all of my best intentions (for example, "draft first newsletter" by mid-March) are for naught when I can't control my own work schedule. Fortunately, my friend Marie (original MOH and very dear friend and GodMom to our kids) said she'd come and spend one or two weekends with me in June to help with various crafts and some mockups of the invitations and various paper items. Thank goodness that when Kathy and Judy visited in February we got lots of stuff done that I can take down to WDW in May and put in storage. Between now and then I'll try to figure out what else I can take down early to make life easier/less stressful in January.
I did find a tiara on ebay today that I like (I bid on it and am leaving it to fate -- the ones I saw at the Demetrios salon that I like started at $300) and I found earrings for Jenn for the VR that she loves, which I went ahead and ordered. I also purchased some gorgeous swarovski crystals in various shapes last week. My friend Heather's mom is a very talented jewelry artisan and I am thrilled that she is willing to accept a project of creating earrings, a necklace and a bracelet for the dessert party. :cloud9: I figure we will hopefully be doing on Sunday the rehearsal, then the rehearsal dinner, then the WISHES dessert party so I want to find a cute outfit (especially if I can ever lose another 30 pounds!) and wear that gorgeous jewelry for all three events.
So, I guess when put that way, it actually looks as if I am accomplishing something. ;)
I have also been keeping the pix of the dress up on a minimized window in the hopes it will inspire me to stick to my diet instead of stress eating everything in sight.
keenercam
03-20-2008, 10:36 AM
Here are the two tiaras I won on ebay. They were so inexpensive and so different from each other that I thought I'd get both (bid minimum and left it to fate) to see which I like better. I also wanted to have them when I go to order my gown in May so I can see which goes better (I am sure the salon was hoping to sell me the one I tried that was $300 or the one I really liked that was $379 -- that's not going to happen! ;) ). It will also be helpful to have them when I do my hair and makeup trial in September.
What do you think?

Thanks, Stacie! All I know so far is that Jenn will likely wear some shade of pink. I thought the contrasting stones might be preferable to earrings that are all pink. "I Knew I Loved You"
Maybe it's intuition
But some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes
I see my future in an instant
and there it goes
I think I've found my best friend
I know that it might sound more than
a little crazy but I believe
[chorus:]
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
There's just no rhyme or reason
only this sense of completion
and in your eyes
I see the missing pieces
I'm searching for
I think I found my way home
I know that it might sound more than
a little crazy but I believe
[repeat chorus]
A thousand angels dance around you
I am complete now that I found you
[repeat chorus to fade]

I love you always forever :flower3: :lovestruc :cloud9:
(verse 1)
Feels like I'm standing in a timeless dream
Of light mists, of pale amber rose
Feels like I'm lost in a deep cloud of heavenly scent
Touching, discovering you
(verse 2)
Those days of warm rain come rushing back to me
Miles of windless summer nights
Secret moments shared within the heat of the afternoon
Out of the stilness, soft spoken words
(say it, say it again)
(chorus)
I love you always forever
Near or far, closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Everything I will do for you
(chorus)
You've got the most unbelievable blue (BROWN) eyes Ive ever seen
You've got me almost melting away
As we lay there
Under a blue sky with pure white stars
Exotic sweetness, a magical time
(say it, say it again)
(chorus 2x)
(bridge)
Say you'll love and love me forever
Never stop, never whatever
Near and far and always everywhere and every(thing)
(bridge 3x)
(chorus to fade)

And these are the earrings I won tonight on ebay! (a DISBride's best friend, to quote one of my buddies here! ) It's mostly regular swarovski crystals, but has four that have the aurora borealis coating.

Thanks, everyone! I fell in love with the second one, but the first style looked a bit better when I tried them on at the salon. The second one is more suited to the delicate styling on the skirt of the dress and I am leaning toward it. I may end up taking both when I go to order the dress, so that I can see how each looks with it.

Thanks, Kristen! I sent Jenn the link to the auction before I bid on the earrings and she really liked them. I was so happy that I was able to get them on a buy it now. I thought she might like to take them when she looks at dresses and the various colors. I am hoping she might like to at least look when she is home on spring break the week after next. I know she'll want to wait to order something, though, because she is doing so well with training for the half marathon that she has already lost a significant amount of weight. I am so proud of her for training while keeping up with her classes and all her other commitments!

The hearts are just so sweet and gorgeous!

First of all -- WELCOME HOME!! :welcome: Woohoo on the new DVC membership! :woohoo: You are going to be so glad you joined. We have reserved a studio for 5 nights and a 2BR for 4 nights for the four of us and my DMIL and DSIL for the whole wedding weekend, and we could NOT have provided those accommodations without DVC! Enjoy!
Next, enjoy your first trip sans kids! We did this for the first time in 1996 and have made many adults-only trips since then. It is an entirely different and outrageously enjoyable experience, even without the joy of sharing it with kids.
I really hope you can persuade DH to do a VR. It took a lot for me to get past spending money on ourselves, but we are doing it as inexpensively as possible as far as the day and time, but didn't skimp on things that are really important to us like the date and locations and our food and entertainment choices. We have turned it into a huge party for our family and friends and it means SO MUCH more planning it now when I think of making everything special for the people we love.
I am so glad you noticed the "hidden mickeys" -- I did too and pointed them out to Howard, even though the middle stone is oval. I think it is still very close and very sweet! I just LOVE ::MickeyMo

Today was a huge package arrival day. :) Here is what showed up:
swarovski crystals in 2 sizes for a tiny little hidden mickey on our invitations. Thanks to Caryn for the website!
pink glass stones for in the vase that we are using for the programs. These will be mixed with the clear irridescent in the bottom and the programs will stand in the tall rectangular glass vase. I will have to ask our planner whether there is a table in the vestibule of the WP or right inside the doors where we can place the programs, rather than to have someone handing them out.
The second crystal scroll tiara. OMG!! It is incredibly delicate and gorgeous!
The loose swarovski crystals in various shapes that I ordered on ebay from a seller in china. They are in the shapes of stars and hearts and my friend's Mom is going to make my jewelry for our dessert party. :lovestruc
The soundtrack of "Princess Bride" that I have been wanting and finally got around to ordering.

A DEFINITE inclusion for the VR....
I can't get enough of your love babe
[spoken]
I've heard people say that
Too much of anything is not good for you, baby
Oh no
But I don't know about that
There's many times that we've loved
We've shared love and made love
It doesn't seem to me like it's enough
There's just not enough of it
There's just not enough
Oh oh, babe
[sung]
My darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Girl, I don't know, I don't know why
Can't get enough of your love babe
Oh, some things I can't get used to
No matter how I try
Just like the more you give, the more I want
And baby, that's no lie
Oh no, babe
Tell me, what can I say?
What am I gonna do?
How should I feel when everything is you?
What kind of love is this that you're givin' me?
Is it in your kiss or just because you're sweet? :lovestruc
Girl, all I know is every time you're here
I feel the change
Somethin' moves
I scream your name
Look whatcha got me do'in
Darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Girl, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why
I can't get enough of your love babe
Oh no, babe
Girl, if I could only make you see
And make you understand
Girl, your love for me is all I need
And more than I can stand
Oh well, babe
How can I explain all the things I feel?
You've given me so much
Girl, you're so unreal
Still I keep loving you
More and more each time
Girl, what am I gonna do
Because you blow my mind
I get the same old feelin' every time you're here
I feel the change
Somethin' moves
I scream your name
Look whatcha got me do'in
Darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Oh no, babe
[spoken]
Baby, let me take all of my life to find you
But you can believe it's gonna take
the rest of my life to keep you
[sung]
Oh no, babe
My darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Yeah, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why
Can't get enough of your love babe
Oh my darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Oh babe
I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why
I can't get enough of your love babe
Oh babe

Wow, Howard, honey, the words to that song are HOT! :faint:
Okay, I need advice. I really dont' want to serve alcohol at our reception. Howard and I don't drink at all and there will be some younger people there (though no small children -- the youngest will be 12) and for an event that is ending by 3 or 4 in the afternoon, I just don't feel the need to make alcohol available. In addition nearly all of our guests won't miss alcohol. However, several people have mentioned that they think we need to do a toast of some sort, so perhaps we should do champagne and sparkling cider just for that OR a mimosa. I'd prefer to do some kind of signature drink. I saw a picture in a bridal magazine a while ago that I cannot locate anywhere now. It was a champagne glass with a pink tinted beverage in it and the top rim was coated in pink sugar crystals. I LOVE, LOVE this idea.
Can anyone suggest the following:
1. What type of drink?
2. Should we call it something? (I had never heard of this concept, but apparently brides & grooms are creating signature drinks and naming them. :confused3 )
3. Has anyone seen a picture of something like this that they can post here?
Hoping you guys can help! :grouphug:

First, I'm just catching up and love the necklace from Howard :lovestruc The different shaped crystals on it are so cool. I have become a big Swarovski fan since my wedding.
Also, I loved getting wedding packages, they just never seemed to stop. It was so exciting getting the mail every day. Now, I'm waiting for our dishes that we ordered from Pfaltzgraff. I checked the order status and there are two 26 pound packages coming :scared1:
For the signature drink, I can't respond about the pink beverage, but we did something similar. We don't drink either so we had sparkling cider for the toast, but during our cocktail hour we had a signature beverage. We had a brunch, so our drink was a mixture of passion fruit, orange juice, and guava. So yummy :yay: Disney is great to work with on creating unique beverages.

We are doing a "pink" signature drink- a "blushing bride" it is champagne based with peach schnapps and grenadine and we are using it during the toast. The children are getting a shirley temple garnished with orange slice and cherries to make a mickey head. other than that we are not having alcohol- we want to make sure everyone lasts all day to get to the DP:rotfl:

This first one looks pretty affordable... You get to make your own label. Pretty cool! They also have a non-alchoholic...

:grouphug:
the drink in the champagne glass sounds like a Kir royal. http://www.frenchentree.com/france-normandy-food-drink/images/KirRoyal.jpg

Sabrina -- that drink looks interesting, but the one I saw looked more like pink lemonade with the edges dipped in pink crystal sugar. Hmmmm. .. . :confused3:
Not much new here. I am really excited about the plan for the vase to hold our programs. We now have the irridescent clear and pink beads to put in the bottom of the rectangular vase and I found some wide pink organza ribbon that is wired to make a nice big fluffy bow. I did a "trial" of it this weekend and was really pleased with how high up the programs will sit with the beads in the bottom and how the vase looks from the front with the glass base, then the beads & the bow tied around the middle. So, the vase & the beads will be packed very securely and taken to Florida for my owners locker if I get there in 4 weekends.
Howard also told me that he wants our guests to toss rose petals for our staged exit. I think he loved the pictures from Carrie (lurkyloo)'s wedding, so hot pink rose petals it will be. It also relieves me of any bubbles-stained clothes stress.
I also saw a hairstyle posted on Liz's planning journal that is exactly what I have been looking for. I didn't expect to find a picture this far in advance of my hair and makeup trial, but it's so great to know I can show Ana something that is exactly what I have in mind.
Hmmmmm. .. what else? ... Oh, I remember! Jenn has decided she wants real flowers and no tussy mussy. I had some pix to show her of possible bouquets and she found one that is exactly the size, shape & style she wants. And then I found another picture that is exactly the color scheme she wants. FUN!
Oh, and I LOVED Sabrina's door hangers, so I added that to my to-do list. I may hit the DIS Creative board and ask someone to come up with a graphic that I can use on that. I think I saw one of Mickey & Minnie in front of the castle in their bride & groom wear.
It feels really good to have a lot of this stuff under control. Suddenly, instead of being 13 months out, we are less than 10 months away!

Oh, Liz, you are so sweet! Thank you again, so much, for posting that pic and not minding me copying you! :goodvibes I bought the Celebrity Styles magazine today, the Weddings edition and couldn't find a single style like it. Apparently "the" style right now is something swept over from the side (straight across the top of your head) and then all the curls and volume starting about 1/3-1/2 way back on top. That style really won't work for me. I was so excited to see the one you posted. Thank you again!
I forgot to mention that Howard and I found an anniversary band this past weekend that I really liked. It was 5 stones across with rounds on both ends and in the middle and baguets in between. It was set in 18k gold and was gorgeous. Tonight we found another that we liked that was three large rounds in the middle set up a bit and then channel set on either end were 3 little diamonds. Another really pretty one. So, it looks like we won't have to have a band custom made after all, now that we have seen that there are at least those 2 styles that look pretty against mine. I have to say, though, I am tired of salespeople urging me to consider that I will want to wear the band alone and how it looks alone is more important than how it looks with my diamond. I just can't imagine putting my "engagement" ring in a jewelry box or safe. I LOVE it and want to wear it every day, so the band must look nice WITH it.

I know how you feel, Cam! When DH and I married, we just got matching bands. It was just as important to me to find a ring that went well with our bands. I got a three stone diamond ring on our fifth anniversary that looks great with my band that I treasure :goodvibes

Must be a common issue- we just got bands too and the salesperson did say over and over it looks great by itself! Well- that is nice but i plan on wearing both- I thought it was because I have sapphires in my engagement ring and they didnt carry the brand of ring- so anything to make a sale!
We did find a really good match though! :woohoo:

I am so happy, Kim and Jeanne, if I helped you both to feel welcome and comfortable at the WISH events. Hey Cam -
My hubby bought me an anniversary ring which we plan on incorporating into the ceremony. I already wear my engagement ring and wedding band on my left hand. I am planning on putting my engagement ring and wedding band in a safe place and having DH put the ring on my left hand for the ceremony and then wearing the new ring on my right hand and my two original rings on my left hand - are you going to wear all three rings on your left hand?
keenercam
04-05-2008, 10:43 AM
Thank you so much, Kim! I really appreciate the wonderful good WISHes!
Lisa -- I love your idea of how you'll wear your rings.
I haven't figured out yet exactly what to do for our VR day as far as jewelry. For our tenth anniversary we exchanged my engagement ring and a "wrap" toward a band that has 3 rows of stones -- 11 tiny baguettes set across the band as the middle row and a row of tiny rounds on either side of that. It is really beautiful and I wear it on my right hand now because for our 18th anniversary Howard bought me this GORGEOUS "engagement" ring that we designed based on something we saw in 1991:
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b8dc39b3127cceb50c98d7182800000026100Ibt3DRs2cMT
So, now the quest is for a band that will look pretty with that on my left hand. I haven't figured out yet whether I'll move the engagement ring to my right hand for the VR so that Howard can put the band on my left hand during the ceremony. The thing is that I'd want to put the engagement ring right back on my left hand once the band is there, but I won't want my right hand to be bare the rest of the day. I may give my baguette band to a friend to hold for me during the ceremony and give back to me to put on when I switch the engagement ring back. I think I am making this much more complicated than it has to be. :rotfl:

I should have mentioned that I got so many things done last night for the welcome bags/boxes. It was SOOOO much fun. Howard was studying in the office, so I sat in there working on things and getting his input on everything and I think he had almost as much fun as I did. I get to cross the following things off my to-do list:
1. labels for bear necessities bag (I used Pooh, though, and Andrew thinks I should have used Baloo, so there is a bit of dilemma there to be addressed. I started a thread looking for advice on this.)
2. labels for the gum packs (I used a cute eeyore clipart, since he is Jenn's favorite, and he seemed perfect for the "don't be sad" line. :) ) Andrew put the labels on the gum for me.
3. tags for the candle/match chinese food takeaway boxes -- I figured a way to use the mickey punch as the hole that the tag hangs from, but had to untie the cord on the chinese take-out container to hang the tag from that little bit of cord and then put the cord back through and re-tie. It was almost therapeutic. The clipart for the tags is lumiere. These took a lot of time to make, so having them all done is fun! I cut the index cards for the tag using my new paper cutter; mickey-hole punched the tags; did the greeting for the tag on labels and separate labels with lumiere; cut the labels & put them on the tags; untied the cord handle to attach the tag; put tissue paper, votive & matchbook in the boxes, and closed them up. They look so pretty all packed and ready to go to Orlando (hopefully into the Owner's Locker, if I get down there for the Minnie 15k).
4. Sorted everything for the bear necessities bags, so that they'll be ready to pack when the sewing kits arrive (the first ones were missing the graphic).
Whew!! What a great way to spend a Friday night after a really stressful work week. :cloud9: Jenn & I were supposed to go to David's to look at styles/colors for her dress last night, but I was at work too late and exhausted. So, she got to spend one of the last nights of her spring break with her brother and then with some friends and then with her furbaby, and I got all this done. :thumbsup2

Thank you, Martha! Jenn and I went to David's today and she found 3 styles that looked really nice on her. So we are very reassured that when it is time for her to order her dress, she'll find something we love. She's so sweet. One dress was pretty dazzling and she said "No,Mom, it's your special day and I don't want to outshine the bride." She was so adorable and sweet when she said it. She really didn't want this really pretty dress with beading and sequining because a Maid of Honor's dress should be a little "less". Gosh, I love my daughter! :cloud9:
We found the last couple of items that I wanted for the guest bags, so I should be able to finalize those this week and pack them.

I worked on our first newsletter last night. It is impossible to finalize anything until the contracts are signed. It is also a bit puzzling to figure out what information people need at this early stage. Here are the pieces of information I included and why:
Location of VR-related events:
I told people that the dessert party and the vow renewal will be at the Grand Floridian. I will clarify that for Sunday night, people can take a resort bus to any park and then monorail to GF for the dessert party. I also want people to know the time (up in the air until the fireworks schedule is available) so that no one makes a Sunday dinner ADR in July that conflicts with the dessert party.
Blocked rooms (locations & rates):
Many of our guests are DVC but may want to use our room block for the high-point Friday and Saturday nights, so I want them to know about the rates. I've also advised that we are providing transportation to the VR only from our blocked resorts
Our itinerary:I am hoping that if people know we will be in Orlando on Thursday and partying at Pleasure Island, we may have more company. :grouphug: I also thought it was important to make clear that we will be tied up with the 5k, half-marathon and marathon at various times over the weekend. I also wanted them to know what time the reception is over on Monday in case anyone needs to book a flight home that evening.
I reminded people they'll have the opportunity to buy reduced rate park tickets later and that we will provide that information for them as soon as it is available.
Okay, so what else?

I don't have that much hair, though I am growing it out. But this is exactly the soft, romantic look I am going for, and I think it will soften my round face, and by having some height on top with the tiara there, will elongate my face a bit.
What do you all think?

Oh, an update on the "Bear Necessities" bags. I caved and went with a really cute graphic of Mowgli & Baloo hugging and it says "Bear Necessities Courtesy of _____". So, those labels are printed and I am just waiting for the mini sewing kits to come in and I can stuff the bags. I've decided I'll feel much better if I put the sunscreen & purell in a little ziploc bag together before putting them into the Bear Necessities bag. Since they'll be in storage for about 8 months, I don't want to take any chances at all on leakage.
My latest dilemma is what to put on the labels on the back of the dessert party favors. We are proceeding on the assumption that we'll be hosting a dessert party on 1-11 to watch WISHES fireworks. So, we have the clear plastic star pens with the tag attached with organza ribbon. The front of the tag says "Wishes Do Come True" but I was trying to come up with something clever for the back. Once I finalize those labels, those will be packed up for storage as well. :yay:

Oh, I was a "hostage" to my remote email server last night because of an issue brewing on one of my cases, so while I was stuck in front of a computer, I split the screen and worked on the DP favor labels. Howard chose the saying for the back, I did all the labels, affixed them, finished up the remaining pens & got them all packed. YAY!!!
Tonight, I should be able to check and pack another significant item for the welcome bag, so that can also go into storage. I am keeping one of every item from the welcome bag at home, so that I can figure out what the welcome bag or box will be, based on what it has to hold.
So, progress is being made on the stuff that can be done even before we sign our contract, which is hopefully 4 weeks from today. :woohoo:

My latest dilemma is what to put on the labels on the back of the dessert party favors. We are proceeding on the assumption that we'll be hosting a dessert party on 1-11 to watch WISHES fireworks. So, we have the clear plastic star pens with the tag attached with organza ribbon. The front of the tag says "Wishes Do Come True" but I was trying to come up with something clever for the back. Once I finalize those labels, those will be packed up for storage as well. :yay:

Cam. Hey girl! You have gotten much accomplished since my last visit!!! I know everything will turn out perfect!
Thank you, sweetie! I have a feeling that come September or October, I will want to focus on training for the half marathon and will be grateful for every one of these things I get done ahead of time.
What image did you use of Mowgli?
Where did you find the graphics for the Bear Necessities labels.
I did a google search for free disney clipart and found disneyclips.com where you can search for images by movie or character. The image I used (which isn't showing up well enough when converted to a jpeg to load on shutterfly) has Baloo leaning back with Mowgli hugging him. It is really sweet.

Laura -- First of all, congrats on the 4 pound weight loss!! :thumbsup2
As for posting images, I'd be glad to help (after all, many DISers have helped me over the years with these questions).
1. save your image to a photo website like shutterfly or photobucket. (If the image is one you have found elsewhere, you will need to save it to your computer first in order to have it available to upload to shutterfly. The way you do that is to right click on the image whereever you find it on the internet and say "save as" and save it to your desktop. Then you can upload it to shutterfly, etc. from your computer).
2. Once it is in shutterfly, click on it to open it on your screen, then right click and click on properties. Highlight the code at properties. (It is the properties code that directs the DIS boards where to find the image in your shutterfly album)
3. come back to the DIS and insert the following code where you are drafting your post and insert the address you picked up at properties between those two bracketed image codes. That tells the DIS to insert the image from that location in your shutterfly album. You can preview your post to make sure it shows up. I've tried using the little mountain icon above the post drafting block but for some reason sometimes I end up with two of the "http" prefixes and the image doesn't show up.
I am sure that was clear as mud, but let me know how you fare. If my directions are indecipherable, the posters on the technical board are MUCH better than I at explaining this stuff! :thumbsup2

Thank you, Sabrina! I found the glitter chinese food takeout containers on a fabulous post-valentine's day sale at Oriental Trading, along with some fun chocolates. The containers came in pink & red & we used both colors. I am not worried about sticking to our theme colors for the welcome bag items.
Well, I am feeling pretty pleased with myself this morning. :rotfl: I had an idea a while ago about what I wanted to use for welcome bags (after realizing the gable boxes might not work since I wanted to put at least 1 1liter bottle of water in each, and maybe more.) I thought it would be fabulous to put everything in a bag that our guests could use for the park. Today, in the footlocker outlet, I found gym sacks (the kind with strings you can pull tight to wear on your back or over your shoulder) and they were 60% off. Then I had my entertainment discount for 15% off my total order, and now we are the soon to be happy owners of very functional sport sacks for each of our welcome bags. :woohoo: That is a HUGE load off my mind!!! :yay:

Patty -- So glad you got in on that great price! :woohoo:
I haven't added anything more to the newsletters yet, but I found some cute graphics and pics from our two resorts that I am going to add. I thought it would be great to provide a link to websites where guests can find out all about Wilderness Lodge and POP Century early on before they make a reservation. There are a lot of parts of the newsletter I can do before we have a contract, but some of it I am almost afraid of "jinxing". ;) Thanks to Vanessa, I have a great template for the newsletter and some cute pix. I will also start working on water bottle labels soon. I bought full sheet labels to print them on (landscape orientation to get it to go around the bottle), but am concerned about ink coming off on sweaty hands. Then, I started wondering if clear packing tape is wide enough to put over the label, and then I started thinking maybe I should buy those waterproof labels that someone was talking about on here. Geez, Okay, I'll work on the word template for the water bottles but will have to figure out later what to print them on. :rotfl2:
Today I was looking for jewel bouquet initials and am thinking ebay may be the best source. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Oops! Sorry! Using them for labels is MUCH easier! I saved the clipart to my desktop, opened a word document and set up the labels and decided where to insert the clipart. Then I clicked on insert, then file, then chose the clipart. It usually came in too large for the label space but if you click on the clipart in your word document so that it gets a box around it and then you click on the corner and push it toward the center of a picture, it makes it smaller. Hope that is clearer! :cutie:

Thank you so much, Stacie. Those designs are so beautiful and creative! Can you believe how generous those DISers are? I can't imagine the time and effort it takes to create some of those original designs.
Not much new here. I followed up yesterday with the vendor on the sewing kits and found out that the order correction never got put in their system so they were going to rush print it today and get it out by priority mail. AMAZING customer service!!
I ordered some stuff from minimus.biz which has a banner ad on the DIS for travel size items and I was able to get more pieces for the bear essentials bags at $0.10 - .30/item. :woohoo: I am so happy to try to anticipate our guests' needs and maybe make their WDW stays a bit easier! :grouphug: Now, if that stuff arrives before I leave for the Minnie, I can also take the bear essentials bags to put in storage. :yay:
I found a very nice calligraphy font free download that I think will work nicely for our placecards, when we are ready to print them.
I received confirmation that our invitation components from cardsandpockets have shipped.
Also received confirmation that the gym bags that will be our welcome bags have shipped.
There are so many really important, substantive things that we won't be able to do until much later (placecards, table numbers, programs, vows, music selections, etc.) that it feels great to get these pieces tended to. :goodvibes

Lisa -- I thought they'd be much more likely to be used at home by our guests after our event if the bags are not personalized with our information or logo. Instead, we will put them in some kind of a bag -- maybe a colored shopping bag with handles, close the top, and hang a tag on it with the guest names, reservation number, arrival dates, etc. We'll probably decorate the outside in some fashion, too. But this will just be an inexpensive paper bag with the real value being the gym bags inside.
Well, I got a few more things taken care of this weekend. Everything is in the bear necessities bags now, except the emergency sewing kits, which should arrive in the next couple of days. Then those can be sealed and packed.
The mickey gel pen packs are all wrapped. They took a while but I did them yesterday while I watched "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?" which I'd never seen. What a riot! Now I have to work on wrapping the notepads. I think there are probably 25 or so of those.
It looks like we have lost 2 guests, but I had been somewhat skeptical of whether they'd come anyway. My favorite aunt and uncle have never had a vacation since their honeymoon about 18 years ago. They'd registered for the half marathon and were already saving to come down for a weekend, but have decided that worries about his elderly parents are creating too much stress and worry. I am not sure why they are deciding this early (I got a voicemail last night but it was too late to call my aunt back), but I think they will probably not come. I will miss them dearly and I am hoping I may be able to talk them into keeping their options open or maybe even talking my aunt into coming by herself, but I just dont' know if that will happen. :sad1:
The other significant project I finished this weekend was designing a logo of sorts for us. I'm not sure yet what we will use it for, but had an idea for it and was able to execute it. Somehow, keeping this all very, very casual makes me think we won't end up using it or maybe not extensively, but it is cute to have! :cutie:
Howard is totally swamped with the final month of his MBA program, so I am trying not to bother him with a lot of details, but I have a whole list of items to discuss with him when he is through his last final/paper/project/presentation!

I now have four boxes packed to take to WDW in less than two weeks  to be stored in our owner's locker:
the wine bottle stoppers which are now tagged
the bear necessities bags
the crystal pens (tagged & labeled) for the dessert party
the glass vase, beads & organza ribbon to create the holder for programs

It is a fabulous weekend, with 7 of us who have become very close through the DIS WISH board, all sharing a villa at Old Key West. We have so many fun things planned including a dinner at Boma, breakfast at Olivia's, going to EPCOT to check out the topiaries & gardens, a HUGE WISH team meet, dinner at Boatwright's, spa time at Saratoga Springs, tea at the Grand Floridian, Sunday night at Jellyrolls, breakfast Monday morning, and possibly some outlet shopping. It will be a blast, though not at all relaxing. ;) Oh, and several friends and I are going to check out the proposed location for our WISHES! dessert party, to see the fireworks view, figure out if we can hear any of the music from there, and also to see if the electric water pageant goes by that location. I am getting SOOOO excited about my girls' weekend away! Yes, I am totally spoiled rotten.
Not much to report here except that the welcome bags have arrived and I am going to pack all but one to store in Orlando next weekend. They aren't heavy or bulky but it's one less thing to tote down in January.
Our tee shirts from customized girl arrived too and they are so cute. Mine says Disney Bride on the front and Howard's Princess with both dates on the back. Howard's says "The Honeymoon Never Ended" on the front and "Cam's Prince Marrying Her Once Was Not Enough" with both dates on the back. Jenn's has Maid of Honor on the front, Andrew's has "I'm the BEST (man)" on the front. Both kids' shirts say "Mom & Dad's Disney Vow Renewal" and the date on the back. I am pleased with the price, the quality and how quickly we got them.
I also found a really cute wedding pavillion Disney pin on ebay that I HAD to have. ;)
I opened the box from cards and pockets today and will inventory all the components later.
We are hoping to enter into a contract about a week after I get back from Disney. Then I will feel like I can breathe easy and start on newsletters, invitations, etc. :woohoo:

Oh no
But I don't know about that
There's many times that we've loved
We've shared love and made love
It doesn't seem to me like it's enough
There's just not enough of it
There's just not enough
Oh oh, babe
[sung]
My darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Girl, I don't know, I don't know why
Can't get enough of your love babe
Oh, some things I can't get used to
No matter how I try
Just like the more you give, the more I want
And baby, that's no lie
Oh no, babe
Tell me, what can I say?
What am I gonna do?
How should I feel when everything is you?
What kind of love is this that you're givin' me?
Is it in your kiss or just because you're sweet? :lovestruc
Girl, all I know is every time you're here
I feel the change
Somethin' moves
I scream your name
Look whatcha got me do'in
Darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Girl, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why
I can't get enough of your love babe
Oh no, babe
Girl, if I could only make you see
And make you understand
Girl, your love for me is all I need
And more than I can stand
Oh well, babe
How can I explain all the things I feel?
You've given me so much
Girl, you're so unreal
Still I keep loving you
More and more each time
Girl, what am I gonna do
Because you blow my mind
I get the same old feelin' every time you're here
I feel the change
Somethin' moves
I scream your name
Look whatcha got me do'in
Darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Oh no, babe
[spoken]
Baby, let me take all of my life to find you
But you can believe it's gonna take
the rest of my life to keep you
[sung]
Oh no, babe
My darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Yeah, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why
Can't get enough of your love babe
Oh my darling, I can't get enough of your love babe
Oh babe
I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why
I can't get enough of your love babe
Oh babe

Cam - those shirts sound sooo cute. Did you win the pin because I think you NEED it. Can you post pictures of the shirts if you can I would love to see them.
I did win the pin. It is cute with a moving cinderella coach in the forefront.
I'll be glad to take pix of the tee shirts & post them. I'll try to do it tonight or tomorrow night. :goodvibes

Oh, I LOVE that Beatles song. I think it was featured in the wedding scene in "Love, Actually", wasn't it? That scene blew me away, partly for the romance of it and partly because I am such a music freak and although I don' t play anymore, I really do still think of myself as a musician and WISH I could contribute in that way to the wedding of a dear friend. :lovestruc

I was feeling a bit down today (tomorrow is the third anniversary of when my Mom died, 16 days after my Dad died and Saturday is her birthday :sad1: ), so I really needed to do something happy and emailed Joe about some "timing" issues. I am really excited about going to WDW this weekend for the Minnie 15k race, but I am also excited to do some VR-related stuff:
1. Take pix at the WP, even if I am not able to see the inside again
2. Check out Sago Cay Pointe for our dessert party
3. Dinner at 1900 Park Faire to check it out for our "rehearsal dinner"
I was also able to confirm the timing on when we'll have a contract in hands and how much of a deposit we'll have to send in. :woohoo: We've also decided where we want to spend our complimentary night (where else but our all-time dreamed-of resort, the Grand Floridian! ) Wow, I think things are going to start rolling and this will all feel so much real.
Once we have a signed contract, I'll finally feel comfortable ordering my gown! :faint:
I am so excited that I can barely stand it! I am so glad I have this weekend away with my girlfriends to look forward to, then Howard's graduation, then Special Olympics Summer Games and then our WDW/DCL vacation with friends & my DMIL. That takes us into early July and then time will just fly with all sorts of things including training to run the 1/2 marathon in January. :woohoo:

You are so cute! I felt a little guilty already planning our September girls' weekend away, so I thought I'd save that for later, when I am in that post-WDW/Cruise funk. Having our weekend (and the hair and makeup trial :cutie: ) to look forward to is going to sustain me and keep me from feeling sad as I fly home in July. ;)

Hey Cam! I know you're making goodie bags for your attendees for you VR and wanted to tell you about some stuff I saw on the Creative DISigns section.
I've posted the link below. Telyn has made Hershey Nugget wrappers and a few are Wedding-type. She also has Mint wrappers (kinda like matchbook) that could be cute too. I"m sure she could do a wedding one.
You may be done w/ these already, but did want to show you...just in case. :goodvibes
Pg 5&6 shows a finished project.
The Wedding ones are on Pg. 7

WOW! Stacie, those are awesome! How creative and the colors and designs are absolutely beautiful!
Someone on the DISigns board had created a running mickey & minnie for me with Minnie wearing a veil and that is one of the images I am using, along with a castle, on the candy bar wrappers I created for our welcome bags. I am really pleased with how they turned out and DD and DS are so impressed that I figured out all the measurements to make them work. I can't wait to actually put them together, but I didn't want to do any of the chocolate goodies too early.
Thank you again, so much for thinking of me, Stacie and for posting the link here.

Oh WOW. Candy Bar wrappers! How cool. Maybe I missed that...Did you mention it? I can't wait to see pics! I bet they will be soooo cute! So creative! I wish I had reason to do candy bars or nuggets or something.

Actually, I may have bragged a bit ;) when I figured out how to create them. I should clarify -- they are for the Hershey's miniatures. I am also doing "hugs & kisses" with cute little labels. It's funny that I'm not a chocolate freak at all and we are giving our guests all this CHOCOLATE. That's because we LOVE them and know they all love chocolate! :lovestruc  LOL!!

Cam - I'm so sorry to hear that your feeling sad. I always get a little sad when it comes around the time when my step father passed away (almost 10 years ago).
Glad you get to go to Disney this weekend for the marathon and to see all the wedding things. Please take pictures and post them.
Oh I have a question, how long in advance were you "penciled" in for the VR. I know the weddings are 12 months but I was kind of confused on why you were just signing contracts now.
Have fun this weekend.

Thanks, Laura! We were pencilled in for our locations at the one year mark, but we can't contract for the wedding pavillion or the ballroom location until the 8 month mark. My understanding is that if you use the outside wedding locations and/or non-convention space, you can contract for those locations at 1 year out. I'm not positive on that, so I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Oh I see, I just assumed that once you get pencilled in then send out contracts for you to sign. I can't believe in 8 months you'll be there. That will go by in no time. Sorry if I just made you nervous.
