Annual Pass and Renting Discount Rooms

Our first trip home next month has morphed into the entire in-law clan coming. We are using points for some of our stay and my DMIL has booked 2 cash rooms at SSR with the AP discount. My question. Will 1 AP work for 2 rooms, or do we need 2 APs for 2 room reservations?

According to posts on the Resort Discount board Disney has tightened up the rules. One adult Pass per room

If any of the in-laws are Florida residents, the Florida resident price is usually the same as the AP rate. They will have to show proof of residence (Florida drivers license, etc.) at checkin.
