Can you still stay in a 1 br or do you have to move to a 2br? We currently just stay in studios because we only have 1dd. However, we just found out we are expecting. There is a slight chance for twins due to fertility treatments. So, I just thought I would ask for possible future planning. Thanks!!

I just had a baby in Oct and am planning a trip for Oct of next year, when he will be one. My two older boys are going to be 8 and 4 so we will be squeezing into a studio while we still can. For children under two, the staff will allow a crib and not insist that you move to a one bedroom. We know that after next year, we'll have to splurge for two rooms or a one bedroom. If you do have twins, take them to disney before they're two so you can stay in a studio!

look for sticky thread up top. In a nutshell, you can still do a studio with 1 of the 3 kids under 3 in a crib. As of now, Member Services is allowing DVC owners to book a 1 BR with 5 people, esp. if some of them are kids. Can that change--of course. But you have 4 years before it would affect you. Congrats and best wishes--I have twins + 1! Elaine

Thanks! Is your plus one the oldest or youngest? What are the age differences? Just curious how the acclimation to twins with one other went. My dd will be two when we are due.

Just remember that all the literature states that occupancy of a one bedroom is only four persons. DVC has been allowing a fifth person in the one bedroom but no additional bedding or linens are provided. But with the opening of AKV where there are one bedroom villas that sleep 5, this could all change.

I'm sure you will be ok for a few years anyway. The occupancy does state only 4 to a 1 bedroom but small children seem to be ok. I'm in that boat now.....We just had our third in August but we still plan on staying in a 1 bedroom for as long as we can. AKV have rooms for a family of 5 I believe and maybe this will be just what you need to do an add on.

Ownership documents state that both studio and 1 br units sleep 4, except for AKV where they have 1 brs that sleep 5.

That said, the following are currently true:

Member Services accepts a reservation for 5, regardless of ages, in any 1 br villa at any location.
Member Services accepts a reservation for 5, especially with children in the party but they don't have to be under 3, in studio units at BWV only, with a member's request for a studio plus.

Could either of those change? Yes. Do I think they are likely to? No.....but what do I know?
