Busy time of year, I'll check back in w/ you guys after the holidays.

We booked a SPH the day the cruises came out. 55?? I'm too tired to remember right now. Perhaps we'll be neighbors RAC.

It will be me, DH, & DSs who will be 9 & 12 in 2009.

Looking forward to discussing our Tortola cruise soon.

Happy Holidays!

Hello! I couldn't find a thread for this cruise so I started one. But, I am glad that I found you guys. It will be me, my DD (10) and my DS (16). This will be my first Magic cruise. Really looking forward to it. I am booked in 5020, so it looks like we will be neighbors!!

I can't believe it's only 2008 & I have to wait another yr & half. The weather in the Chicago area is gray and overcast, but at least it's not too cold. It just makes me want to be on the cruise now.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone:

What was your favorite gift you gave this holiday?

:santa: gave my sons the Wii & it's fun to watch them play--especially Guitar Hero.

What was your favorite gift you received?

I had a rough Christmas season. I spent most of it at the hospital or funeral planning for an uncle who died the Friday after Christmas. My Mom told me 2 days after the funeral to go buy myself a nice purse. I bought a Coach, but I think I like the pink cellphone charm I bought w/ it just as much. It's my first designer purse. It's not like me. I save my fun money for Disney.

How were your holidays? :santa:

Well, let's see it's a looooooooong time before the cruise and winter is now upon us, which makes me think and long for the next cruise.

For us we'll have 2 rooms on Level 2, we love that area. It is myself, DD and DS's GF in room 1 and then DH, DS and DD's BF in room 2. The "kids" will be 21 and 20 at the time of the sailing. We took them with us this past summer on the Wonder and we really had a blast. So we thought that we'd need to take them on the Magic this time around. It will be our 5th cruise, 2nd for the BF and GF.

Don't have any special plans yet for the cruise, thinking Palo brunch, most likely the Rainforest Room, I keep saying I'm going to do it, but never find the time or bother to take the time, so this time for sure. Also think I'd like to attend a few of the tastings and/or classes.

As for Christmas, it was really nice. Both kids were home from school, (DD is near Boston and DS out in Illinois). You know Thanksgiving vacation is so short and they try to jam so much into their time home, so Christmas was longer and more relaxed. We played lots of Scrabble and card games. Went to visit my sister and her family right after Christmas and stayed a few days. She lives in VA and it's so much fun. She's like in the middle of nowhere and we just laugh, and eat, and play games and enjoy my great niece :cutie: who's 2. Way too much fun.

As for my favorite gift given, hmmmmmmmmmm :rolleyes1 Well 2 things, I gave DH a nice digital frame with lots of Disney vacation pics loaded. Then I gave lots of books this year. DS is studying teaching history and I found some cool books. My sister has a young girl staying with them and I gave her 3 classics, and of course all the "babies" get new books. (I used to be a kindergarten and 1st grade teacher)

Favorite gift received was for my birthday, which is a few days after Christmas. My husband gave me tickets to go see.............don't know if I should admit this, but to see Barry Manilow in concert. :lovestruc I just love his music. Yeah I gues I'm a "Fanilow" :rotfl: :rotfl:

So as you can see, I love the holidays. Now everything seems so empty, kids are back at school, trees are down, etc... though we do leave our "winter" village up well into February, since it's "winter" :goodvibes Ditto for our "winter" dishes. Just hate to see it all end. :lmao:

DVC Mary, sorry about your uncle, hope all is well and getting back on track.

That's all from me for now. Just keep your eyes on the 6/20/09 date and it will be here before we know it.:cool1:

I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle.....

As for the weather...it's so cold and windy around here...we've had our share of ice storms so far this year. It sure makes that cruise look wonderful....too bad it's in 2009.

As for Chirstmas....my favorite gift was new scrap booking ideas I got. My kids got lots of misc things. They had gotten their Wii last year for Chirstmas so them pretty much just got lots of new things to go with that. I do like that Wii is coming out with a Wii Fit game. It's to help people get fit! I so need that game!

Hi all!
Large group coming from all over for my daughter's wedding on Castaway Cay. Last year we had 15 on the Western and it was a blast. Don't know where we'll be on the ship yet. We always book the cat 12 and let fate take it's course. We were very lucky last time and ended up in a cat 7 so hopefully there will be some of that Magic still floating around. I'm in NC but originally from MI. So far we have:
me 43 NC
DD 25 NC
DD 22 stationed in Korea
DS 21 stationed in Arlington
DDIL 21 VA
DB 42 MI
DSIL 37 MI
Dsoontobesoninlaw 29 NC
DF 33 FL
DF 65 NY
DF 64 NY
and rest to be added as they book

How exciting a wedding at CC!! I would love to hear all the details...maybe we'll get lucky and catch a glimpse at your dd on her wedding day. I bet she's look just like a princess! I'll have to tell my dd about this wedding...she's only 13yrs old. But she's love reading all about the different Disney Weddings and seeing all the pics. Also, I was going to tell you...we're from Michigan (born and raised) but moved to Oklahoma.

Pleased to meet you Lettie. My name is Sheryl. What part of MI are you from? I grew up in Southwest Detroit. I miss the family but not the cold and snow. We are very excited about the wedding. My kids didn't travel on Disney until they were teens and they love it. Both have gone with just their boyfriends and they insist they won't travel on another cruise line. Last cruise the youngest child we had with us was 12 and the rest were adults. We had a DIS meet and met some wonderful people that went on some private excursions with us. Good times.

Wow!

A wedding group. We'll be looking out for you guys. Where do they do the weddings on CC? Is there a private location? I hope it's very special.

Life is getting back to normal after my uncle illness & death. THank you for your kind thoughts. I'm a h.s. history teacher, so the 2nd semester means many new names to learn, but it also means new relationships to build. I really like 2 of my new classes.

We planned a last minute trip to WDW. I'll tell you more about it when we get back, but basically we finally got my Mom (turning 80) to agree to go.

I'm so excited to plan special things for her. My almost 11 yr old DS is just as excited & understands we'll be taking it slow. My 7 yr old DS doesn't get it. He wants Nana to go on Mission Space. Hopefully he'll get it when we get down there.

Busy planning our trip:

2 nights at GF (1st time there--so I'm trying to learn as much as possible)
2 nights at BWV

Working on ADRs & trying to get more (especially at the times we want):

1900 Park Faire Breakfast
Crystal Palace
Rose n Crown

Have any of you been to the GF? Can you offer me any advice?

Take care!

Just got off the Magic yesterday where we booked this cruise! At this point we have 7 people...should be 9 by tomorrow and I believe it will grow by the month!

We have never gone during the summer before, but it has now become necessary! WOW, what a price difference. Obviously, we think it is worth it.

Can't wait to meet all of you.

Still swaying in Ohio.........

We are in central Ohio just north of Columbus. We do usually get to Cedar Point every year though.

I am a teacher that is back to work so we are just going to have to bite the bullet on the June pricing schedule.

Your family looks like a hoot Yankee! Are you all booked on this cruise?

Yea we are a hoot(that's a Southern word. Where did you pick that up?). It's funny because most of the pics on other people's House Party sites are of their kids and the characters or the ship. Ours all have us with drinks in our hands or looking like we just fell out of bed. :rolleyes1 We had such a blast with our big group. :grouphug: My friend and I took different Disney posters and put different people in our group as the heads. We put those on each person's door and the Captain actually came down to see them. We talked the cast at the Rockin D into picking my cousin for the Gloria Gainer contest and my friend's husband for the John Travolta contest.:dancer: We have enough blackmail video to last a lifetime. We all wrote letters to the cruiseline to commend the service that the cast at the Rockin D gave us. We are actually expecting more people this time because of the wedding.party: I just can't say enough about the memories we have gotten from these trips.

missyoh8

We'll be flying I would imagine. I can't imagine driving with my MIL and FIL all the way :lmao: . I wouldn't mind driving though and squeezing in an extra week at the beach.

There is something so odd about talking about this trip when I am still tan from last week and this is so far in the future! I guess if we averaged it out by the planning time and the actual cruise itself it would be very affordable per minute.

Go Bucks!

Hi! We are also booked on this cruise! It will be:

me 38 (at time of cruise)
DH 45 (at time of cruise)
DS 16 (at time of cruise, also autistic)
DS 14 (at time of cruise)
DD 12 (at time of cruise)

This will be our 4th Disney cruise, although we haven't been on the 3rd one yet-it will be in July08. We are also not used to cruising this time of year-we have always gone in November, but our kids school schedules have changed, so now we only have so much time! The price difference is incredible, though, I agree! :)

In regards to swimming, to find a team - you could go to http://www.usaswimming.org/usasweb/DesktopDefault.aspx and on the left on their home page, you can search for a club or LSC

Club swimming usually practices once a day - depending on their schedule.

Her high school team practices 3 times a week - unless you are a club swimmer and then they only go once a week -

Just had our Sectional swim meet last night, she qualified in her 50 Free as an individual and 2 out of the 3 relays she was on qualified - so we are off to the District swim meet next weekend

Or if there is a Y near you, check to see if they have a swim team.

Hi guys!

It's nice to see that our group is growing. The groups w/ nicknames have usually cruised before or are going on a special cruise. We could work up something w/ Tortola in the name.

Anyone have t verbs or other ideas???

Is anyone bringing boys near the ages of 10 & 12?

My son will be 12 at the time of the cruise...does your son like playing basketball? That's what my son loves to do....on the cruises before...he was out on the court before the sunrise every morning. He's the type of kid that never sits still for long.

He plays bball but desperately wants to be better at it. He might enjoy the opportunity to practice his game. He's on one of 2 teams at school this year in 5th grade. His team turned out to be the superior team, but since he's not a starter he feels terrible. He's also bummed b/c his 2 BFs will likely make the Gold team aka A team in 6th grade, while he's likely to be on the B team.

Perhaps we could have them email each other & closer to the cruise. It would be nice for him to make a friend before the cruise.

Will your son be traveling w/ other family members or friends close to his age?

Ok....I'm still brainstorming. Does anyone like any of these?

Tearing up Tortola

Taking in the sights in Tortola

Ticking away the Time 'til Tortola

Toddling off Towards Tortola

Lettie: I'm a teacher, so when people ask a question, I feel compelled to come up w/ answer or solution.

I won't tell anyone my favorite. I'll let the group decide if they want a name change at all.

Can I fit in this group if I tell you that my son(s) will likely end up in marching band? They love music. They've taking piano since they were 5 & now the oldest has been in the school band for 2 years. He was just invited to move up to bass clarinet by the band director. He's very excited.

Welcome Lisa & Magie!

I'm sure we'll have a wonderful time.

Magie: Don't sweat it about posting on these boards. Just go w/ what you are comfortable w/ and if you have questions just post them here or on the main DCL boards. This will be our 3rd cruise, so I'm no expert, but I can try.

Are all your trips to Disneyland or WDW? I want to learn about DL. We may try for 2010/2011 in CA. I don't plan too far ahead or anything.

Lisa: Is it your DD or DS who will be 8 in 2009? I'll have a DS who will be turning 9 the day we depart. He's very outgoing. My 12 DS knows the ship like the back of his hand. If you get turned around onboard, he's your man.

Is anyone else on here a DVC member? We joined in 99, but don't cruise on points. It's cheaper to do the onboard rebooking for a dummy date & then bump it out to the date we really want.

Is anyone planning a few days at WDW before or after their trip?

We've done a 2-4 days before & then take a limo to the cruise.

Take care everyone!

It's actually my nephew that will be 8! He will turn 9 in Oct.09! This will be his 4th Disney cruise so it's like his 2nd home!;)

I don't think we can fit in/afford to do WDW before or after like we've done before! We are paying WAY more money since we had to switch from May 23rd to June 20th! :headache: :scared1:

I have not been to dl since 1964. All of my trips have been to dw. Our last trip in dec 07 was the first time we stayed on property, it was to have been a special trip for my younger daughter (mother of my 2 grandaughters) as she was dying of breast cancer. Unfortunatly she died last June.

We had at first booked a 4day sea and 3day land vacation, but we changed to the 7 day eastern because we felt the change would be good for the girls. They realy didn't seam to have as much fun on this last trip as we had hoped.:sad2: I am sure they were missing their mother, I know I was.

This will be my 2nd cruise, my first on Disney. Living in Ok. Galviston Tx is such an easy port to get to(7 hr drive) that ships leaving from there offer a very attractive option. I realy don't like to fly but I am getting use to it.

My Gd Bethanie will be 14 and her sister Caitlin will be 9. They are both looking foward to this trip. We are planing on doing a dalphin swim in Tortula. This will need to be booked through the company as DCL only offers the Dalphin encounter. This will be the big excersion for us mostly I am looking at spending my time onbord the ship and joining in all the activities offered.
I am really excited about this trip and am not at all sure I will be able to wait more than a year. Maybe I will be able to find a cruise I can take some time this year. Ofcourse the girls will have to stay home as I would only be able to aford to go during the school year. I geuss I will need to find someone else to go with me. Any takers.

I am bailing out on you guys. I switched over to the Westbound Repo today. The kids and I really need to get away now rather than later. As you may see in my signature, my husband recently passed away, and to compound the misery, he was murdered on the job by a burglar. We need to get out of the house for a while and get away. Sorry to bail out but SPH 5020 is now open, so if anyone would like it, it should be available.

Do we have any DVC members on our thread?

If so, I'm looking for help in complaining to DVC about the new $95 to stay at a non-DVC Disney resort such as the Polynesian or even Coronado Springs. If more people complain, they may change the policy.

I just wonder if is this legal / within the guidelines....?

BTW, I can't wait for the trip, we had to cancel the May repo - Cat.2 due to business issues, I booked this as consolation......:sad1: We may be trying to do a back to back, 7 days is not enough!

Thanks for all the kind words. You never know, I may rebook this cruise later on, but I wanted the 10 percent discount and onboard credit that I got by booking onboard to be transferred to the Repo to save money as it was $$$$$$$$!!!!!!

I am glad that a diser got the SPH. I posted right after I made the change so you guys would get a chance.

Hi all! Just rebooked on board a few days ago for June 20, 2009. Not sure if the date may get moved when they post 2010 in December, but until then, I thought I'd introduce myself. Another Ohio buckeye here...NE OHio. Do we have the state covered now??? Just DH and myself, both in our 50s. Just got back from our Western yesterday. Want to go back...NOW!!

I'm new to these boards, though I've lurked on them once or twice.

My husband and I just returned this month from our first cruise ever -- the May 3-10 Western. It was supposed to be a romantic getaway after spending a year apart (he's military) but we spent a lot of time saying, "Oh wow! I wish your mom could see this!" Or "So-and-so would be so excited right now." And my husband turned out to be something of a closeted Disneyphile. Soooo... we rebooked for next year, this time with family in tow. It made a nice Mother's Day surprise for my mother-in-law. She almost cried right there in the restaurant! She's a real sweetheart.

We originally booked for May, but realized that would interfere with lots of school plans, so we scooched our reservations over to this cruise. We enjoyed the Western itinerary, but we wanted to see something different too.

Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to see who would be going on the 6/20/09 Tortola cruise, so here I am! I may not post much, but I thought I would at least check in.

Who is going?
Me (mid-30s... ish!)
Husband (same)
MIL (60s)
Daughter (will be 21)
Son (will be 18)

Where are we?
One inside room, one outside room -- Deck 7 Aft, Port. (Man, do I ever wish we had a 2br suite.)

My MIL and daughter are thrilled about going and are incredibly easy to please. My husband is already anxious about getting back on the boat. I am a little concerned about my son, who will have fun, but will probably snicker and roll his eyes a lot. (I told him to be prepared for Disney cheese and that if I heard one complaint, he was welcome to stay home and save me the money. :lmao: ) I wish he was going to be 17 when we set sail, so he could hang out with the teens and play videogames. I'm hoping with the time of year, he'll meet some other 18-20s to hang out with.

Aaanyways. Hi!

Have not been on this board for several weeks. I can see that not much has been happening here, but afterall the cruise is more then a year away. If you hav been following you know that I was having problems waiting, so I went hunting for something sooner. I found a cruise on September 14, it is only 4 days but it should help the time go by. I will really have to save now for this cruise. My Sept one is paid in full. The difference in cost is really a little hard to get use to. My daughter Michelle will be going with me in Sept. We told the girls last week. They took it very well, knowing that we can't take them out of school. They are begenning to get excited about this cruise.

Thats all for now. I will check in again later.

Hi there! And yes, he'll have a good time, especially if he sees other guys and girls his age enjoying themselves. Hopefully they'll have some fun activities for our older "kids" because of the time of year. (Wii games, maybe?) I just wish he'd learn to lay by the pool and relax! :D

Fellow teachers getting out soon are making me jealous, but congrats to you on another year accomplished. We have 4 snow days to make up! This Friday should've been our last day, but now it's next Thursday. We also found out we're moving our department to the newer
"lower level" aka basement classrooms so we might have to come back to do additional packing & moving. We wind up moving our file cabinets, giant bookcases/shelving units, & desks ourselves. UGH!

One of my DIS board friends finished last Friday & is at Disney this week.

Oh well, my time is getting closer to the world!

Welcome CodeNameJack!

Your husband sounds so sweet. We took my Mom to Disney for her 1st trip at 80 & it was sooo magical. I only wish she would go on a cruise. She hates boats & the heat. She won't budge. We're lucky we got her on the Jungle Boat Cruise. One the CMs saw her 80th b-day button & her 1st time button. He teased her "Happy 80th bday---what took you so long to get here?"

Does your son like sports? We saw a lot of older teens/20somethings playing bball on the sports deck. He can workout too if he's not into lounging by the pool. Maybe he could focus on excursions that he would enjoy--perhaps the more athletic or thrill seeking types. They will show some non kid movies in the theater. He might enjoy the sports pub too to watch some games. Encourage him to talk to the crew & find out where there from & what it's like on the ship. Many of them will be in their 20s.

And then there's the ever popular sitting in the room :happytv: & ordering the free room service.

I teach h.s. & the boys who go on cruises always talk about the room service while other boys look at them in awe....."you just order, they bring it, and you don't have to pay.....WOW!" The 2nd thing they talk about is the excursions/ports. The 3rd things is the girls they met--often late at night by the hot tub can be a hot spot. Several also mention being able to drink too FYI.

Here's our Deck 5 crew (ages as of next year):

Me 40!!!
DH 44
DS 12 (who can't wait to be 18 & get to go to Palo)
DS turning 9 the day we set sail & is so bummed we're not going this year!

Magie: Congrats on your Sept cruise & on saving.

DH is still on the job hunt. If you're the praying type, please say a prayer for Scott. He's getting disheartened. He's a former AF Nat Guard Tech Sgt, electrical engineer w/ an MBA, 17 years of telecom experience, a year of SOX compliance w/ software release management experience, so he's no slouch......this job market is really rough. He's usually overqualified and even though is able & willing to do the jobs out there, they'd rather have someone they'd rather have someone younger that they could pay a lot less.

Four more days of school here. I work in a primary CD (cognative disability) class. We usually have the same kids for 2-3 years. This year, due to a set of housing projects being torn down, we are losing most of our kids, so it will be a sad couple of days.

Final Exams for 3 days

Thurs. Meetings & then "School's out for summer!"

I've got to start a staging area for our WDW trip. I just ordered some pins for the kids to trade--paid about 1.80 each.

We don't collect very many, but the kids love trading them w/ the CMs.

I have a ds who will be 12 when we go on this cruise next year. He loves to play sport....

Hi There!

May I join this party? We just got off the June 8th Wonder double dip (well, with a few extra days at Vero Beach), and while onboard, we booked for this cruise too!!! I'm SO excited that DH agreed to it! We booked two rooms, one Cat. 6 for DH and I, and one Cat. 11 literally across the hall for DD's (one will be 21 and the other is turning 16 on the cruise). We're even one stateroom down from where we were on this double dip cruise, so we'll pretty much know where we're going (especially after a few drinks!!!!).

I've come to join the party!!

We just got off the Wonder, and knew we were wanting to rebook for next year while on board. I have been pretty much jealous of the Tortola cruises ever since they announced them, and so that was my DREAM cruise. We looked and sorted out numbers, crunching and deciding on times of year. We thought that this time next year would be a good time, and it ended up being a Tortola cruise! We also looked at my dad's birthday in July, which was a cheaper option, plus had Key West and Grand Cayman (both of which my parents wanted to see), BUT I wanted 3 sea days, AND TORTOLA!

So, we did it... bit the bullet and booked!

We wanted to save a smidge of money, so we are in a GTY cat 8. We had zero complaints about our cat 9 last year, and felt like we didn't use our cat 7 this year enough to swing that cash (plus we're going to WDW twice before we even think about packing for this cruise!).

So, here's our crew:
Me-24 nurse and constant Disney trip planner of ANY Disney destination
Mom- (refuses to say her age) who loves Mickey Mouse, and anything Disney
Dad- 49, who likes Disney Vacations, but would rather do a Disney Cruise over any WDW trip!

We are way too excited! It is kinda fun that we will be sailing on Father's Day!

Hope to make some friends this cruise!

Glad to see that not everyone going on this cruise is a teacher or lives in Ohio. I am a nurse and live in Oklahoma. This will be our second Disney Cruise, my daughter and I will sail on the Wonder on September 14, 2008, it will be just the two of us. In June we will bring my grandaughters age 14 & 8. Because of school they can't make the September sailing(so sad). We have been to WDW several times and this just seamed a logical next step.

I am already thinking about booking a 3rd cruise for Oct or Nov 2009, durning the wine and cheese festable so we can get in on that.

PM me when you can about this....

Yep, another Buckeye booked for the 6/20/09 cruise!

It'll be myself (46) and DS (16) for another Father's Day cruise with Disney!

Booked onboard from last month, managed to sneak in a SPH on Deck 6...was in a SPH on Deck 7 last year.

Looking forward to it!

We're in a SPH on Deck 5.

Hi, DVC Mary!

There are 2 SPH's on Deck 6 aft. Cat 6 at Cat 7 prices, due to the curvature of the metal causing a slightly obstructed view off the veranda.

There are 2 similar SPH's on Deck 7 (one of which we had last month on our 4-nighter).

11 months to go!

We have one to the SPH's on deck 5 room 5020:cool1: . There will be 4 of us myself and DD Michelle, and my DGDs Bethaine:dancer: and Caitlinprincess: . They will be 14 and 9 at the time of the cruise. Our group for this cruise seams to growing.

We are going on our first cruise in September, and are really excited we have formed a group and are doing FEs and are planning a meet for the first evening. I hope we will be able to meet and become friends with some of you during the next 11 months. RLccweens and I are already arranging for her DD and my eldest DGD to get to know each other on the internet, I hope I can find a friend for Caitlin as well.

5020 is our old room--see my review in stateroom reports. This time we'll be in a SPH on the other side of Deck 5. It's one of the connecting ones. I hope we won't have neighbors who are too noisy or that we'll bother them too much.

Our son Patrick will turn 9 the day we depart, so maybe he'll get to know to know your DGD Caitlin. He's very sociable w/ the girls. He'll act shy but when there are no adults around, he'll talk up a blue streak. We could try to get them to email, but he's better in person. PM me if you want to have them try. My other DS will be 12.

Is it just me or are there a lot of girls in our group among the children??

Smileneyes--Thanks for the explanation of the SPH on Deck 6 & 7. I never knew they had those. Is it an obstucted view w/ a navigator's verandah?

Happy summer everyone!

If you're the prayerful kind of person, would you please keep my DH in your prayers.

He was laid off (2nd time in 2 yrs after 17 yrs staight w/ Motorola). He's finally getting more interviews, but they keep telling him he's overqualified & that they think he'd be bored. He keeps trying to get the message across via the headhunters that he just needs a job & would be happy to get on in his actual area of expertise.

Hey guys :):) I'm Dani and I'll be 14 at the time of the cruise. I'm trying to convince my parents to let us go! Anybody know what kind of a room we should get? Yep, it can be pricey for sure!:headache: The thing about DCL is that you have to book WAY in advance to save some money, (remember, they only have 2 ships not 25 like other lines so they can pretty charge alot and still fill the cabins)....and even then it's expensive!:headache: My sister had a category 11 on our last cruise and it was totally fine! You'll be happy anywhere on the ship as long as you are ON the ship!!!:woohoo:

We have sailed in many different catagories from 4 to 11. We actually enjoy the 11 because it is soooo dark and sleeping is great. There are 4 of us in the room (2 adults, 14yo and 11 yo) this year and it will suit our needs just fine. Don't even give it a second thought...BOOK, BOOK, BOOK IT!

Just wanted to say a quick hi to everyone. Michelle and I just returned from our 4 day Wonder cruise and it was great:cool1: . We are really looking forward to this cruise we will have my DGDs with us:dance3: . They will be 14 and 9. Bethanie has already met one friend for the cruise I am hoping we will be able to find some girls that are Caitlins age so that she will also have a friend on board:cheer2: . Both girls are outgoing and enjoy dance and swimming and of course boys. :headache: You all know how girls are.

I am still planning this trip and am hoping to add a few park days before the cruise. I hope to spend the night before the cruise at the Radisson in Port Canaveral. That is where we stayed on this trip and It was a realy nice spot. Caitlin will love the pool. They have shuttle service to the port wich is also nice. :goodvibes

That is all for now, back soon Magie

My oldest 2 kids would love to find some kids their own age to chat with before the cruise. Historically, they have has soooo much more fun when they have instant friends once they board.

This will be their 6th or 7th DCL. My daughter Alex will be 16 and just finishing her sophomore year of high school. She gets along with just about anyone! My son will be 14 years old and finishing up his 8th grade year and heading to high school next fall. He can be a little quiet at times...it usually takes him until the last 3 days of the trip to warm up and then he can't separate from all of his new friends!

PM me if anyone has kids in a similar age range that we can get them getting to know eachother.

It will be here before you know it:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Our DD is also 12! Unless things change, they will be in the Ocean Quest which is ages 11-13. On our last cruise, my daughter loved it there, mastered Guitar Hero and made several girlfriends. She wasn't into a lot of the organized activities for this group as they were often put together with the younger kids. But she and her friends would go to a movie together and sit together at the show each night.

Marla I am sorry that you will not be able to join us on this cruise:sad1: , but I am sure that you will enjoy the cruise that you do go on. There are still not many people on this thread I am hopeing that will change after the first of the year. We took the girls to lunch last weekend and they talked alot about the cruise. They are really looking forward to making new friends. I think that Bethanie would fit in with any kids from 12 to 16, Caitlin at 9 is a little shy at times and is a little worried that she will not know anyone when we get on the ship.
I don,t know if any of you know about fish extenders and the gift exchanges that go with them. We did this on the Wounder last Septemper and really had a lot of fun. We had a group of about 17 cabins involved and the gifts were as varried as the people in the group. We spent the 6 months before the cruise getting to know each oneanother on the dis boards and then a group of us met up the evening before the cruise and had dinner together. It made the cruise so much more fun. We also decorated our cabin door with magnets. I hope that some of you will be interested in joining in these activities.
That's all for now. I hope everyone has a great Christmas:santa: and a Happy New Year:cheer2: . Talk to you later. Magie

Hi All,

Just got confermation from Dreams that our reservation has been switched to this cruise! With the fuel charge being dropped and Disney putting out a military discount, this being a summer cruise we jumped on it. Ok I did and slowly convienced DH that this was a great deal! So for the last week I subscribed to this thread and lurked (sorry) just waiting for him to be like YOUR RIGHT (LOL) lets do it! :thumbsup2

Quick intro Im Drea, married to Elbert (aka E or Mac), DS#1 Phoenix 11 when we cruise (P), and DS#2 Justice 6 now and when we cruise(J) (they go by cuz well im just to lazy usually to type out their whole names LOL)

This is our 2nd Disney Cruise and I think we are all hooked. We JUST did the Sept 27th Double Dip. We knew we wanted to cruise again but didnt want to go in school time as we had tons of homework to do while on ship and then catch up when they got back to school. Once dis put out the military discount (DH is a Marine) I knew I had to be back on that lovely boat! LOL. Also this cruise is the perfect time as last cruise was right after hubby got done with his 4tour in Iraq... this one sound like it will be right before a tour in Afganistan now... :confused3

We are not telling the boys they knew we rebooked on board. But didnt know for when. So we are going to tell them we are going to DH's moms house for the week in Tx (which will be met with moans and groans Im sure LOL) Then the day we fly out going to bust out shirts I am making with the words "My Parents Surprized Me with a DISNEY CRUISE!"

Ok I think Ive brought everyone up on me LOL.

We did Fish Extender gifts on our last cruise (50+cabins) and/or Secret Mickey Gifts for the cabins (some did 1 some did both), also we had a Dis meet in the Promonade lounge pre fire drill. It was great to put names and faces together! Oh we also had personal lanyards done... just throwing out some ideas.

(sorry to be so chatty cathy, hubby left early for a week in the field and I have had about 5cups of coffee waiting for the furniture deliver people to come)

Cant wait to "meet" you all!:cloud9: :cool1:

Welcome to the cruise! Our family is me-Liz, DH Charlie, DD12 Lizzie. Sounds like we're slowly but surely gathering a crowd here! Hopefully, after Christmas this thread will pick up a bit and we can start some planning!

FE's sound like a definite activity for sure. We also had DIS lanyards on our last cruise - they were great for quickly spotting fellow DISsers throughout the cruise. Ours had our first names and then our DIS names - really helpful getting to know people. We also had the Secret Mickey Gift but we didn't participate so I don't really know much about how that works.

Good luck keeping this a secret from your sons! I know what you mean about missing school. We pulled DD from school last May for the 2-week Panama Canal crossing. It all turned out fine, but we were so worried both before and after how it would all work out. I vowed never again to pull her out of school!

Welcome! I believe Airtran just posted their prices for June 27th on Wed or Thurs of this week. If they follow their normal pattern, there will be prices in the lower catagories...web specials and such...within a week or two. We are also watching carefully. We booked a flight in for $86. Hoping the price home will be close to the same. We fly in and out of Akron Canton, and Airtran is the only one offering non stops to Orlando.

Edited to add: I may be wrong...looks like the lower prices are up for every day BUT the 27th. It may be cheaper to stay at the Hyatt Sat. night than to come right home!!

Hopefully after the start of the new year this group will pick up a lil.. Sorry not used to the quietness. My last group/1st cruise group was very chatty. We were on our 2nd thread by 6months out. In fact some of us still chat on it daily... we made great friendships, just by online chatting and then meeting on the ship.

Hope we can get f/e and/or secret mickey going with this group. It was a lot of fun and my boys loved going back to the room and seeing what was in our F/E.

Thanks for the welcome. Hope everyone had a great start to the New Year.

Since this is our first Eastern, we have a couple of questions.

Which night do you think would be best for Palo? Am I correct in that the rotational dining is not three nights in a row and instead is Rotation Menu, Golden Mikey Menu, Rotation Menu, Rotation Menu? We don't want to miss the show in Animators while at Palo!

Myself

This will be a celebration of sorts as my one niece will have just graduated from HS, my daughter will be starting her Senior year in the fall and my other niece will be a Junior. We are leaving husbands and sons at home and are going to enjoy some girly time! party:

This will be my 5th time on DCL and my daughter's 4th. My mom has cruised before, but on a couple of other cruise lines. I will be interested to get her impression of DCL as compared to the others she has been on. The rest of our group has never cruised before, so this will be really exciting for them.

I am looking forward to sharing the excitement with all of you as we count down to June 20th!!!

Hey again,

Thanks for the welcome. Hope everyone had a great start to the New Year.

Since this is our first Eastern, we have a couple of questions.

Which night do you think would be best for Palo? Am I correct in that the rotational dining is not three nights in a row and instead is Rotation Menu, Golden Mikey Menu, Rotation Menu, Rotation Menu? We don't want to miss the show in Animators while at Palo!

Well with my OCVP (Obsessive Complulsive Vacation Planning) I have a spreadsheet.. Thanks to my last cruise I kept the appearance but entered our cruise info thanks to past navigators. Heres a link, if it doesnt work let me know and I can email it to you, as its a google document.

http://www.4shared.com/file/78675688/f9f874bc/Cruise_2009.html

ok in the notes section it is based on us getting the PLLAPLA or LAAPLAP rotation. Im thinking of emailing my travel agent and asking to be put on the Pllapla as last time we were on LAAPLAP (loved it but thought we would try something different LOL)

This is going to be an "All Girls" trip for us. Our party will include:

Myself
My Sister
My Daughter - 17
My Nieces - 18 & 16
My Mom aka Grandma
My Sister-n-law

anermac:

Thank you for the awesome spreadsheet. Yes, I believe that you are OCVP, but that's okay because you definitely help those of us who wish we were!

In planning your dinner rotation is it possible to visit the same restaurant 2 nights in a row? In my past experience, we have always rotated to a different location each night and then repeated. I would like PLAPLAP because I like to be at Lumiere's on the Formal night and Parrot Cay after a day at Castaway Cay for the last night. I also like to do Palo's on the Thursday since it is semi-formal and I can forgo doing Animator's a second time.

Has anyone heard if Pirate night will change from Tuesday? pirate:

Yes we had the same rotations in a row.. the new rotations are PLLAPLA, LAAPLAP, APPLAPL. (or at least that is how our Sept cruise was, and so far I havent heard them change it)...

and yes nothing is set in stone. Previously on our past cruise Pirate night was Tuesday but normally was Weds. since we were going to be in Cozumel later they moved pirate night to Tuesday. So you can tell by my spreadsheet it really messed up my plans LOL but in the end all worked out LOL

Thanks for the spread sheet, Drea! It will be very helpful, as I am always frantic about the details, but too disorganized to get things together!

Wow...what a change in dining rotation from what we have done on all of our other cruises? Was that a double dip or just the regular way now? I was under the impression that pirate night was on Tuesdays on the Eastern because St. Maarten would allow the fireworks. I wonder since we are not going there if it will change? I am not of the OCD planning group...quite the opposite these days. So I look forward to someone who is letting us know :lovestruc .

Still waiting on a good airfare too. One of my sisters booked a flight out for 119, we are waiting on something better as we have never paid that much one way.

I Hope everyone had a Happy Holiday!

Happy New Year all!!!!!

Hi Drea
Welcome to the group. We had a very active group on our cruise in September and I hope this one will get more into it. But even if the group stays small we can still get together at some time, either at the port or after we sail. The FEs on are last cruise were really great and planning for them helped bring the group together and helped generate intrest.

This cruise will inclued myself, Magie, daughter Michelle, and my grandaughters Bethanie 14 and Caitlin 9. The girls have never been on a cruise, or on any boat or ship. I think they are a little apprehensive about sea sickness but other then that are excited about the trip.

Our first trip to Disney was when Bethanie was only 4. We took 5 adults ( thought that was about the right ratio). It was a great trip. We have been back 5 times. Last year we went in December and stayed on property for the first time. This trip will also be all girls, My son David was not interested He is planning his own trip to Disney for next year (afraid Caiti will drag him on Its a Small World again). The girls lost their mother 18 months ago and their dad has other plans.

I am still hoping that someone will a 9 year old girl will join this group. Caitlin would love to meet someone online before we leave that she can get to know. Bethanie has already posted on this board.

Have to go now, back soon Magie

Good luck on getting the fares. Sadly, we're pretty much locked into the highest fares in the country (thanks to a Delta monopoly in Cincinnati). We booked our flights 2 months ago, and (for roundtrip) they were $280 pp. So we decided to make it worthwhile and spend one more day in Orlando after we disembark (most likely going to do Disney Quest).

If someone would be so kind as to explain "fish extenders" or the Secret Mickey concept, that would be great!

P.S. Typically son doesn't start getting excited until about 90 days out. Today he couldn't resist and found Port Canaveral via "Google Maps", and saw the stock pic of one of the cruise ships in port. :)

Thanks for the spreadsheet! Wow, that is awesome. According to the spreadsheet and menus I have found, I think I might try to book Dinner during Golden Mickey's evening.

We booked our entire vacation finally! We are doing 4 nights at WDW prior to the cruise, the cruise and then 2 nights after the cruise at WDW. Airfare also came down quite a bit. We were able to book at $250 total per person. A good deal from CA!!! Whoohoo!

I am also an over planner and want to know exactly what we will be doing every day!! Glad to see I am not the only one. :)

Hi All!

I realized I haven't been checking in on this meet in a while! Today, we were at Woodfield Mall, and stopped in Doorway to Dreams to look at the models for BLT, and I realized that in 5 months, we'll be on the ship!!!! I figured I better check in here and see what I've been missing!

Being from the Chicago area, I've had enough of the cold, and snow, time to think about warm weather! I did manage to find a dress for formal night (gotta love year end clearance sales). DH asked me if I knew which night Pirate Night would be? When we did our Wonder Cruise last year, Pirate Night was the night before Nassau, where he was going scuba diving, so he didn't want to drink. He's hoping to dive again on this cruise, so he wants to see if he'll be able to drink this time! Does anyone know??:confused3

He goes with the Disney excursions. If for any reason something happens and there is a delay, he doesn't have to worry about missing the boat. It's worth any extra cost a Disney excursion would cost rather than booking it ourselves. :)

Everything I've read to this point indicates that Pirate Night will likely be Tuesday or Wednesday night, but more probably Tuesday night (which would be after leaving Tortola, I think).

I didn't see on this thread a cheat sheet of the first names/ ages of the people sailing. I'm willing to create if it hasn't already been done.

Just PM me the first names and ages of your group. If you are interested in doing the fish extender, let me know that as well, and I'll keep up a FE list as well.

Ooh, I hope it's not after Tortola, for his sake. The next day is St. John, and that's where he's planning on scuba diving, which would mean no rum on pirate's night for him, again! Guess that means I'll have to drink his share as well as mine!!!

I found this explanation on a separate thread, when asking if the 7-day Eastern w/St. Croix had a different pirate night:

"It should be no different than the regular 7-day Eastern (St. Maarten version), as the distance between ports is almost identical. They can only do Pirate night on the night between the two Eastern ports as it is the only time they can slow the ship down enough to launch the fireworks."

Eastern:
• Saturday - Embarkation, Rotational Dining, Welcome Aboard Variety Show
• Sunday - At Sea, Rotational Dining, Formal Night, Captain's Cocktail Party, The Golden Mickeys
• Monday - At Sea, Rotational Dining, Twice Charmed
• Tuesday - St. Maarten (or alternative Eastern port in 2009), Pirate Night Menu, No Show (Movie in Walt Disney Theater), Pirate Night Deck Party
• Wednesday - St. Thomas, Master Chefs Menu, Variety Show
• Thursday - At Sea, Captain's Gala Menu, Semi-Formal Night, Lobster in all restaurants, Disney Dreams
• Friday - Castaway Cay, 'Til We Meet Again Menu, Farewell Variety Show

142 days to go! :cool1:

SSRJen

I think all of that is correct, except I believe the Golden Mickey night is the Golden Mickey menu and the Master Chef menu is now the third rotational dining night instead. I could def. be wrong, but that is what I have found when researching the current Eastern Cruises.

Got you added, Mary. And, on the FE, it really doesn't have to be expensive. On my last cruise, some people made crafty things for their gifts -- cards, small frames, magnets. Really, the excitement is about being a sneaky fish fairy -- not about the cost.

Still, no need to decide now. We can always add you later if you want.

As for excursions, I think we are going to take my mom on a handicapped accessible tour at one stop. Otherwise, we haven't decided anything yet. It's not long until reservations can be booked. Wow. Time flies.

We rebooked on-board so long ago, I can't even remember when. We've been postponing and postponing for one reason or another (the last being DH being laid off a year ago).

We were about to postpone again due to older 2 DS' summer camp, but with oldest turning 17, we're running out of options time-wise. We convinced the boys to forego camp this year (they're going to Philmont in August, so all is not lost) and do this cruise instead.

We are 5: me, DH, DS#1 (17 just before cruise), DS#2 (15) and DS#3 (10). This will be our 9th DCL cruise (I think), 8th for boys (we did one on our own following Disneyana years ago).

DH is sending us to WDW for a week before boarding, and we'll head to Vero for a couple days afterwards. I haven't had a vacation in nearly 2 years. I think DH is feeling guilty!

Looking forward to some quality Disney time!!

You have a Liam and a Patrick. We have a Liam Patrick (he's 10).

We've looked at excursions, but haven't decided on any. We tend to like to do active excursions and many times book stuff on our own to save money. It started out that we did it so our then under-10 year old could do some of the fun stuff (the 10 year old limit is a Disney one), but we quickly realized the mark-up Disney made on each excursion and decided to keep it (or give it to them in one of their stores!).

We bought one way tickets to Florida today on Southwest for $89. I guess if they don't come down on the return flight we have to stay there all summer??

Seems like our cruise is getting less populated, but the price still seems to be the most expensive one all summer:worship: . If we didn't have so many people involved in this trip we would switch to another date. I looked and 2 weeks later it is almost 2000 less than this one...WOW.

I think one of the best benefits of this meets board is for the kids. My daughter met a friend on the board for her last cruise, and it was, by far, her favorite Disney cruise ever. She's already started e-mailing lharter's daughter. Leia has gotten so much more excited about the cruise already. That's really important to us, because this vacation centers around my mom who is a severely disabled stroke patient. It's an extra benefit if the kids have fun.

I haven't been on this board in forever...been so busy but I thought I'd check in and see what was going on. And yes....my family would love to do this. I'm not sure how it works but it sounds like fun.

So, can you please add us...

Rob, DH Lettie (me) Celina (15) and Chad (12)

also, does anyone know if there's a Dis meet planned? We would love to meet up with everyone on the board as well. I know mine two kids are wanting to get to know kids before the trip as well. I know Celina started chatting with a few kids but got so busy with school that she didn't have much time to chat after while. She would love to start chatting again with anyone her age. As well as my son Chad....

I'm so excited....this trip is coming up soon!! Sorry, if I was so chatty...but I'm just so excited about the trip now that it's getting so close.

Welcome to the gang! There are a few other "Buckeyes" listed on this trip! :)

"Leia's Mom" has been kind enough to keep a list (it's down a few posts) of people who're sailing and who're active in the discussion thread. Glad to have you aboard.

From the research I saw, the "Fish Fairies", or "Fish Extenders", are for people in our sailing group who wish to give little "surprise gifts" to each other. There is a thread under the FAQ section. I think it gets its name due to the fact that your little "gift collector" hangs from the fish outside of your stateroom that serves as a mailbox.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607

It will show you sample gifts and pictures of sample extenders created by other guests onboard previous cruises.

I didn't see on this thread a cheat sheet of the first names/ ages of the people sailing. I'm willing to create if it hasn't already been done.

Just PM me the first names and ages of your group. If you are interested in doing the fish extender, let me know that as well, and I'll keep up a FE list as well.

As for us, we have a big group with 6 adults and 4 kids. Should be fun!

please add us to the list. fairygrandmother (Magie), DD Mickey (Michelle), DGD Bethanie 14, and DGD Caitlin 9. Fish Extender participent

I just received this from my DU TA. Thought I would pass it along to help with your planning.

I’m sorry but Disney is no longer releasing the entertainment schedule (Golden Mickey’s, etc.) in advance and advises that you check your Navigator once onboard.

Here is the Theme dining for this sailing:

Night 1 = Cruise Casual

Night 2 = Formal

Night 3 = Cruise Casual

Night 4 =Pirate Night

Night 5 = Cruise Casual

Night 6 = Semi-Formal

Night 7 = Cruise Casual

I hope you are getting as excited as we are. Only 99 more days!!!:yay:

We just booked on this cruise last week :cool1:
It is me (Sue) DH (Kevin) DD#1 (Megan) 13 (a week before the cruise) and DD #2 (Kaitlyn) 8

Does anyone have an excursions planned? Those of you with children at the age of 13 which age group of the kids club will you put them in? I am putting my DD in with the 11-13 yr olds, most of her friends at school are that age anyways. I feel like there is too miuch of an age gap between 13-16.

As far as excursions we will do the swim with the dolphins in Tortula. On Castaway Cay we always rent snorkel gear.

This wil be our 3rd Disney Cruise. We took a 7 day western in '05 and a 4 day cruise in '07. 5 days before this cruise we are staying at Saratoga Springs and spending 3 days at the parks This is my dream Disney Vacation to do the park and the 7 day cruise all at once, we can't wait!!!:cheer2:

Welcome to the cruise!!

I have a DD12 Lizzie - won't be 13 until November. But she will be in Disney Quest with your daughter. I think we're up to 3-4 DD's in that age bracket!

This week is spring break for us - our "normal" cruising time. But we really wanted to go to Tortola so booked this cruise instead.

Joining this thread today but we've been booked forever, it seems!

It will be DH, DD (age 9) and me. It will be our third Disney cruise, but our first 7-day. I can't believe the 90-day deadline is so soon! I'm still trying to figure out what night to book Palo dinner. I don't want to miss any of the rotational dinners since DD loves the Animator's Palate show, but don't know which "special" dinner to miss - Master Chef or Captain's Gala. Any advice? Are they still on Wednesday and Thursday or has that changed? HELP!!

Our first 7 day cruise, and only 7 day cruise was back in '05. We booked Palo, but we would've missed formal night, so we changed it when we got on board and it was no problem, no long line at all. I think we missed the Master Chef dinner as I can't remember going to that one. Is anyone doing the brunch? For those of you not sure about participating... It's SO much fun!

You can hang anything from your fish to act as your fix extender - a bag, a stocking, a fishing net. It just has to be able to hold a small item.

As for the "gifts", they can home-made, magnet from your town or state, trinket toy (like you would buy for birthday party favors), small pre-wrapped candies, anything small. You don't have to spend a lot of money on this!

Here's the best part: Each time you come back to your room, you find yourself looking into your extender to see if you been "visited" by the fairy. It never mattered about what we found, just that we found something. As Leia's Mom says, it's all about making you smile!

The more fairies we have, the more visits and the more smiles:) :yay:

See you soon!

Relax Missy, according to the paperwork we received, TOMORROW (Sunday) is the 90 day mark. It better be, we haven't made our final decisions on what excursions we want to book for Tortola and St. Thomas (that's going to be this afternoon's task). :) I was surprised that they would open the booking window on a Sunday, but I guess since it's all done by computer, it doesn't matter what day it is!

If you have any trouble, just book whatever time you can get & then try

Yes, Life is AWESOME! We wanted Palo brunch and dinner on certain days and got it. Haven't decided on an excursion for St. T yet.

For Tortola - hubby and I honeymooned at Peter Island some 21 years ago. You fly to Tortola and take a private boat. DH is contacting them about us spending they day there. Ahhhh, the memories! (Although I told him it might seem a bit strange coming back there with a 12YO in tow!

And life is good because we have good health, JOBS, and happiness! Things one can no longer take for granted!

Now the hard part (for me at least!) starts. Paid in full. Palo reservations made. Packing list done (easy, this is #6 for us). I have to wait HOW LONG to get on my Magic??????

See everyone soon!

So excited the 90 day mark came. I made our ressies at 9pm last night and got exactly what we wanted and at the times we wanted. We skipped brunch last cruise, but decided to try it this time around. Can't wait for the chocolate souffle...mmm.

I am keeping my eye out for copies of the new menus as well.

Tortola Doplhin Swim a.m.
CC Stingray for DH & youngest son

I had trouble w/ the website for about 45 minutes before it would finally let me in. Anyone else have trouble when it opened???

I was not so lucky in my booking endeavors. Everytime I went to book my Palo's reservation it kept giving me error messages. When I tried to book spa reservations it just gave me a blank page. I logged off, logged back in, but no luck. I was frustrated to say the least! :furious:

I finally came back about 12:45, I was able to get in, but the times I wanted for Palo on Thursday were all closed and I had to take the 6:00 seating. I guess I can see about changing it once on board. I was able to get the spa time I wanted.

But, in less than 90 days I will be aboard a beautiful ship sharing quality time with my DD, my mom, sister, nieces and sister-in-law. And yes, LIFE IS GOOD!!! :cloud9:

We were having issues this morning booking the Tortola excursion (Snorkel at Norman Island). Came back later and was able to book, but only in the afternoon.

Got the morning St. Thomas Island Tour...but now considering moving that to the afternoon. It starts at 8:15 a.m., the morning after (what I believe to be) Pirate Night. pirate:

Other than that, all is good.

HELP!!

I am realy excited to finely find some one with a 9 year old daughter. My DGD is 9 and I have been looking for someone she can meet and get to know before we sail. Her name is Caitlin and she will have completed the 3rd grade when we sail. She loves the water and her dolls. This will be her first cruise. She has been to Disney World 4 times and Disneyland twice. We will also be taking her older sister Bethanie 14 on this trip.

We have made all our reservations and have comfirmed polo for dinner and burnch. We will be doing the dalphin swim in Tortula and parasailing at Castaway Cay. At St John we will be visiting the Butterfly farm. Our group will also include my DD Michelle ( the girls aunt).

Can"t wait to meet everyone. Hope we will be able to get together will some of you for a meet after we sail, or maybe meet at the termanal befor we board. Is anyone staying at the Radisson the night before we sail. We will be there and I hope we will see some of you.
I have to go to work now, will be back later.

It is getting more exciting.

I am hoping that we have a couple more families participate in the fish extender thing. Still, with the group we have, it will be tons of fun. I can't wait to start picking out things. I already have ideas :-)

This is going to be a blast.

We went on at midnight too to book. Already alot of the mornings for Palo brunch was booked, but Thurs. so we are doing Palo brunch Thurs. morning, I think the 10:30 time. I figure I can get a real good workout in. I plan on doing an hour of cardio and an hour of weights, that way my body will be still burning calories while I eat, LOL! I only do workouts like that once a month. We are doing Palo dinner on Sunday ngiht. It was hard not knowing what our dinner cycle will be , unless there is a place to check it?

For excursions we are doing snorkeling at St. Thomas, in the morning. Swim with dolphins in Tortula in the morning. Nothing on Castaway. We normally do a couple massage there but decided to skip it and just enjoy the beach all day.

For spa we are doing the couple spa treatment, you know that one, LOL!

We have our DD 8 registered in the Lab. There was no place to register DD 13. I was surprised by that as she could be either in the age group of 10-13 or 13-16. I want her in the younger one, and she does too. So does anyone know how that works?

I can't wait to go!!! I am so excited!!!

Pirate Night is Tuesday. We had the same problem & we're on an 8:15 excursion too. Remember all the concierge people have already had their time to book a few weeks ago. They probably took the afternoon ones.

I changed our Palo dinner reservations from Sunday night to Monday night. It seems like formal night is Sunday night and I dont' want to miss that. Ther were only 2 times available, so we got lucky! Whew!

I dreamt about our cruise last night, it was Pirate night and so much fun.

I told my DH that Pirate night is the night before Tortula and that is the morning we have to get up early for the excursions. Oh well. We will have fun though.

Okay, this may be a first, but...I told DS about the start time for the St. Thomas excursion, and that it'd be the night after Pirate Night. He said, "Don't worry, Dad...I'll get up in time for it!"
