I just checked fit day super quick, (I have to get to bed, I have to be up by 3:00AM) and it looked like you have to subscribe to it, and pay about $30 for it. Is it worth it? How much do you use it? Are there some free websites that help you track your caloric intake? Thanks!

Unless they changed recently, the fitday online program is free. You can buy a software fitday that is more involved, but the online program was very useful to me. I don't think I would have paid $30 per month for it though. I would probably pay for weight watchers online for that amount.

I just went over to fitday, and it still indicates it is free.

Fitday is free and remains one of the better free nutrition trackers out there. We use it with our clients in the health club I train at. The free version is a little awkward to use but once you get up and running it works well. The purchased software works a little better since you are not waiting on the internet and the non state of the art search engine on the free version.

Obviously, a tracker is only as good as the data going in. Read the portion selection carfully and learn what a portion size is so that you can more accurately track your inputs.

I use fit day and sparkpeople and like them both. Both are not an exact science, but once you get your things figured out, I find that I am a creature of habit and usually the favorites are the things I use most often.

I have found it a valuable service and love the free aspect. If I had to pay for it I would not afford that amount in a monthly fee and definitely would not subscribe.

You do need to register for both, but it should not be a cost.

I just found a new service, CalorieCount (caloriecount.about.com) It's part of www.About.com

So far, it looks pretty good. It's still in beta-testing and the user interface takes some getting used to, but it has a huge database of brand-name foods.

Well, Sparkpeople looks great but they don't offer lo-carb options...For me, that is needed since even one tiny carb triggers a binge. :guilty:

Anyone know of a good LO-CARB tracking/support site?
